How so, Onarax? I would imagine our characters are already somewhat preset to resemble a virtue, personality and everything included.
-
No, I'd rather have it be a Toa team. Like Parugi mentioned, Skakdi represent more of a war-like species and Vortixx tend to be on the more cruel side of things. Ruins the reputation, y'know?
As for the name...not sure whether I want to use Arete or not seeing as how most members here aren't exactly from the original group (guessing).
Speaking of virtues, I'm capable of whichever one's left so take your pick and I'll take the last one (unless I change my mind). Although, I'm leaning more towards Charity and Kindness. I believe I'll take the one which isn't chosen.
-
Why would you start playing as a character when the season's about to end? I'm sure most of us are thinking of creating this group within a month's time or so...
-
Yeah, we'll use those ones instead. If I read right, you said you'd start playing the role at the end of this year. By that, do you mean like the end of 2012...?
-
While my preference lies with a Toa team, I'm not against Skakdi or Vortixx members. If there's a Skakdi, there might as well be two so they could use their elemental powers. Let's make sure our characters resemble their virtue.
So here are the following virtues: Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Justice, Prudence and Temperance. Has anyone taken interest in a particular virtue?
-
I was thinking more of this to be a Toa team, likewise the Daedra. I'm having a hard time picturing a Skakdi or Vortixx as an embodiment of one of the heavenly virtues.
As for the reluctance on becoming heroes: I like the idea however I don't think they'd strive to be actual heroes. They'd think of themselves as people who help those in need, a guardian type of idea rather than think of actual heroism.
-
Well, I was thinking we'd travel around all of Mata-Nui, take in the sights, fool around and have fun. We'll probably run into many people so we'll probably have a wide-array of fights with different people, probably toughen up the Runners. The hardships they may face might add to plot.
So if we do that, we'd be going in order of what's closest meaning:
1) Onu-Wahi 2) Ko-Wahi 3) Le-Wahi 4) Ta-Wahi 5) Ga-Wahi
-
I think it's settled then. On a side note, I envision the following in the near future for the Sand Runners:
Road trip!
-
I think 4 huts for each of us would be good while there would be 2 others. One for the general area where we eat and kind of hang out and the other could be a storage room.
The huts could be built out of sand that my character Walker built by shaping the sand into hut-like shape, pressurizing the sand altogether and connecting all of the sand particles together with crystal so it doesn't fall apart. It's like sand is what's shaping the structure and the crystal woven in between and connecting all of them is the glue. Complex but useful if we ever need to build another hut although, it would take a lot of time for Walker to build these and it would drain him.
It'll definitely be beside a river (or we could die of dehydration like Garme mentionned )
-
My idea for our little home:
Something like a few scraggly looking huts near one of those tendrils of water on the map of Mata-Nui, not too far from Po-Koro but at a safe distance. The water would prevent us from dehydrating. Or we could have one pretty big hut where we all sleep in and keep our possessions.
'Tis just an idea.
-
Fyi, I made the first post about our arrival on the village's outskirts.
-
I believe everything is set up. Any objections to me starting the first post in Po-Wahi anytime soon? Everyone ready? Anyone have any friends they want to ask if they want to join this group before we start?
-
Yeah, I noticed While I was reading this, I thought "This is exactly how I write...*checks*, yep, plagiarism."
Shame on you, Trakuda, shame! Just kidding, I don't mind.
Now we're just waiting for Mef.

Name: Walker
Species: Toa of Crystal
Gender: Male
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Mask: Kakama, Mask of Speed
Appearance: Walker is brown in colour, he’s tall, lean and his body is slightly muscular. He wears a plain white shirt, dark colored pants and a black single-strap backpack slung across his left shoulder. His hands are loosely bandaged up to half of his forearms.
Equipment: Walker carries around a crossbow and is quite the good shot with it. His backpack is used to store little trinkets he might pick up or valuable objects and he carries his arrows in a satchel for faster reloading although the inside is layered thickly with leather so the pointy arrow tips won’t punch holes right through it. That doesn’t mean the inside doesn’t get a little scratched up though.
Abilities and Traits: Walker is very agile, flexible and acrobatic and his Kakama adds a lot more to these traits of his. Being a Toa of crystal, Walker has control over crystal but he’s developed the habit to control sand since having grown up in Po-Koro. He’s a very good thief, knows how to blend in with his surroundings but what he excels in the most is running away and losing people during a chase. His fighting style is very evasive, quick and close-combat oriented so he uses his speed to make up for his lack of strength.
Personality: Walker has a talent for mischief and is quite the fun guy. He likes to joke around, has a knack for hitting on the ladies, is very proud of his overall self in general and has a big heart for his friends. He’s nowhere near evil; Walker’s just a guy who wants to live life the way he wants to. He also has a very good idea when it’s time to pack things up and go.
History: Walker and his friends were always the little troublemakers, from the time they were kids to the age they are now. Walker is his actual name despite that he’s one of the fastest runners on all of Mata-Nui, most probably thinking why he doesn’t call himself “Runner” instead. He and his friends formed a little gang in Po-Wahi called the Sand Runners, notorious for the chaos they cause in the Wahi.
Weakness: Walker isn’t as strong as most would think despite his cut physique and his developed instinct on when to run away could be used against him. He may look brave on the outside but he’s a bit of a chicken on the inside.

Sounds good. Once we're all ready, I'll start the first post about us getting ready to cause some mayhem. I'll probably pickpocket an rper
As predicted, Mef, we're waiting on you XD. TDC, feel free to post your character's profile, I'd actually be interested in reading his profile before we start.
-
Well my character's ready.
-
Well, Emzee told me he'd approve a Toa of Sand if I made one so I'm currently waiting for him to approve it
-
My character is going to be the very definition of "Sand Runner"
-
Any species.
-
All right. I'll get around to whipping up a character soon. When you guys are ready, just post here.
-
Thoughts...?
-
I was thinking we could start off in Po as a little gang notorious for causing a bit of chaos here in there and disappearing in desert when they run. They could be known as the Sand Runners in Po. We could start off by stealing something and a bit of fighting but then, one of us has the genius idea to make ourselves known to the other Koros. Kind of like your group of misfit villains trying to make a name for themselves and when they introduce themselves to strangers, they're like "Never heard of you."
-
TDC, I've got but two words for you: good man. Same for you Mef. By the way, no rush in making your character Mef, we'll probably take more time than expected to create this tiny group. I was thinking kind of a group of friends who grew up together and their disregard to the law (whatever you call law in mata-nui) led to the formation of this travelling group.
-
Just post ideas on how this group should start off...
-
Can we get this thing started soon...? Pretty please...?

I'm down for that idea. Tell me if I'm wrong but this is my interpretation of what you're saying:
Our characters start off very similarly to the virtue they're based off of but haven't exactly fully achieved the full state of it. In time, they'll pretty much become to embodiment of it. Amirite?
We also need an idea on how they met. Will we start off all knowing each other or will it be a first encounter type of thing?
