I use Discord even less than I check BZP. My issue is more about time commitment and game format – super busy with classes and D&D currently!Nope, he had to join for you to get the reward
Sorry vox
I won’t be participating, but I’m here to give my blessing and to credit Voxumo – perhaps he gets a +1 to his mental, at least?
Although you can play almost entirely using discord if that changes your mind at all

not a purist per se. big proponent of modalt, for instanceI'm guessing your a purest MOCer.
I try to be but I'll paint a mask or dye some parts to fit my needs if I need that part desperately.
I find G1 silver to take in Rit clothing dye very well. Note just softly buff the surface with a soft sandpaper just to get some of the glossy shine off.
i just don’t have the means to dye or paint pieces in a way that won’t look terrible / sharpied on
-
Well I'm out of legal pieces but Carrier's original blades dyed black.
a little too robotic and not big enough for the scale of the build, if you ask me – but definitely not a bad idea, thank youMaybe try this piece instead.
It's from the Chima Phoniex Temple set.
if they existed, those would work, lol

unfortunately i don't have the time for it right now (working on my own setting guide, plus finals) but good luck! i presume 5e?
edit: oh you did mention 5e, my bad.

Idea for claw improvement.
Use one of the OG claw blades as the large half of the claw and use the small antler piece as the small half of the claw.
Also you could figure out a custom head structure under his OG head to keep the tusk and give room for eyes.
(personally I don't mind it eyeless.)
didn't love working silver into the color scheme. if one of those claw blades came in black or dark tan, i'd be down. fair point regardless
the head does have a custom structure and i could have added eyes but, agreed, it looks better blind
For the eyes, I see the black claws holding on to the pincers being four little black eyes. My main complaint is the lack of spikes, especially on forearms. I have eaten enough crabs to remember such details.
ah, interesting, that makes sense!
i didn't have enough black nor dark tan spikes to make him consistently spiny, so i elected to cut my losses and make the armor generally smooth

I love that head. So creepy, so nightmarishly anthropomorphic crab-like. Body's dope too, keeps the bruiser tone. The claws though, bug me. They seem gangly on him, almost more like tentacles than claws. Those I wouldn't mind being a bit bulkier.
But elsewise, dude, that's a really cool Carapar.
that's a fair complaint - when it comes to claws i'm always more concerned with the iconic pincer silhouette than the realism, but in this case it fell short.
thank you tmd!

to be fair, matoro's death was tragic in a sense, but it was also a triumphant culmination of his life's work, so i'd say it's bittersweet
-
thanks folks!
Very nice. Especially creative usage of the Umarak pieces to make the claws and jaws. I can't decide if his lack of eyes works for or against it as a MOC. It definitely makes him creepier, but crabs do have eyes.
they do! and he probably does. i think it looks better without visible eyes, though – where is he watching you from?
Even though he kinda loses the "big clunky brute" thing, I think this is a tremendous improvement over OG Carapar.
felt like i could do brute without the big and clunky. og carapar is cool but doesn't feel too crab to me... not that i did a ton better in that department

maybe replace the pearl gold with silver/black to unify the color scheme, but otherwise it cuts a nice profile

you always convey so much personality in your builds – along with smooth design and brilliant color schemes, of course

i am not really back – still at university without my bio parts – and more interested in dnd than lego recently. regardless it's still fun to post here once in a while!guess who's back
back again
chro is back
tell your friends
i'm no MOC expert but that is a fine MOc my friend, even if it's apparently over a year old
thank you! mid building i realized the knightly look was coming together based on the armor, and chose the armaments accordinglyKnights are cool, and this model captures the theme reasonably well. I love looking at the build below the armour. It looks complex and well thought out.
i really appreciate your response to this, you have typed wellI really like what you have done with this. You have done well.

you're really great at figuring out how to recreate kanohi with system parts!

Never thought I'd see something like this in lego form, the hands and jacket are excellent. Not too fond of the lack of eyes in any form, or the brow and facial features around them.
did you watch the video? face didn't end up being too discernible, alas

TimeLord saw Nato clinging to the edge of the platform and walked over to him. Hammer raised he said, "so this how you fall. By little old me how fitting."
With that he slammed his down the hardest he ever has into Nato's hands.
yoooo you just outdid luroka and shadowvezon for the most mistimed villain monologues in bionifight

i definitely think the dark red adds to the look of tahu!
i'm not sure if it's your intention but all of these guardian builds are similar enough to the toa that i find it hard to consider them their own characters
(just FYI, kahi is the name of a certain bionicle fan.)
it's also a relatively generic combination of syllables

the game lives again
i won't lie, i'm tempted

your styles are both very nice to look at yet markedly different which really adds to the thematic effect here
