  1. Another MOC for you all today; this time it's my revamp of Thok, one of my most popular MOCs on other sites.I had decided to build a grittier, darker sort of version of Thok, as it fit the Piraka quite well, in my opinion. One change I made was the color scheme. I got rid of the light blue and silver, and replaced them with black; not enough black to overpower the white, though. The light blue was also replaced by some trans light blue parts, for no particular reason other than that it looked awesome. I also found the original's contrast of trans colors to be a little too much, so I changed the eye and Zamor colors to trans light blue and blue (respectively). In addition to the color changes, I switched up the weapons. I was not really trying to keep true to the set with those; the Ice Gun is now part of the Zamor launcher, and Thok now has an ice sword of sorts as well.Image over 100 kB removed. -B6 ^ Click to go to Gallery ^MOCpage:http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/325344Brickshelf Gallery:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=505847

  2. Oh. I get it. :P If you were going for an accent color, next time I would try to add a bit more of the color in the structure or armor, just to prevent cretins like me from misunderstanding. Still, really cool moc.
Yes, I suppose so. I added a few blue greebles and such as well. Thanks for the feedback nonetheless! :D
  3. As many before have said, the first thing I noticed were the great colors. Like Sotiro, his head looks outstanding. The way you constructed most of his body is also looks very original, which contributes to his backstory of being an experiment (ie. "regular" toa have very simple builds, more unique ones are more complex... you get the idea.) As for the Iodine arsenal, I love the concept. I also love how each robot looks when separated, but I think as power armor it falls a bit short. My biggest complaint is how far out the chest protrudes; the rest of the armor doesn't look bad. Excellent job again!
Thanks. I will admit that I may have gottan a little carried away with the armor. XD
  4. Very nice. You don't see many mocs with purple these days, but you did a great job. good job
Thank you. I love working with purple while MOCing- although many of the purple pieces I have are not very versatile, that provides more of a challenge. In fact, I've posted three purple MOCs, one of which I plan to upload here soon. :)
The colors look great, but the custom heads are the best part.
Ah, thanks for giving some helpful feedback. I really like using custom heads in my MOCs; oftentimes I will find that a certain mask or some such thing that I had planned to use on a MOC either doesn't fit or doesn't look good, and I'll have to improvise with other parts.
  5. Hello again! For my second MOC post, I have Tabimir, a dark Toa of Iodine. After experimenting with his elemental abilities and his knack for robotics, Tabimir has created a series of robots- the Iodine Arsenal- running on iodine-based fuel cells. There is a unique twist to this, however; the Arsenal is not only autonomous robots- they possess the ability to transform, split, and combine as powerful weaponized armor for Tabimir.100_4702.jpgTabimir Gallery:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=509841Iodine Arsenal Gallery:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=509844Full Armor Form Gallery:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=509843MOCpage: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/328783( Please note, any parts that appear to be pink are actually bright red. )

  6. Very nice! The smooth Technic body looks great, as does the head. I really like the hands, very good use of those panels. The legs are very detailed, creative placement of Kakamas. At first I didn't really like the blue pins, but after looking at the post above I understand why you used them, they even look good there.
Thanks! I was going for a sharp contrast between the smooth panels and the greebly technic areas. And yes, I felt like just orange, grey, and black was kinda boring, so I decided to add in an accent color, which also fit with the element explanation. Glad you like the MOC. :D
  7. Nice concept you've got here, what with all the Vahki parts. These all seem somewhere between humanoid and animal, which fits them nicely. The stone one reminds me of both a gorilla and a bull, due to the proportions and posturing. I like the leg designs of the green one, although it doesn't really fit with the agile, thin type as suggested by the arms and wings. The torso conglomeration of the blue MOC is interesting and pretty neat as well. I think the blue and brown Virahi are easily my favorites of the bunch. :)

  8. Looks neat, though extremely robotic, which I suppose is fitting of the adaptive armor, or whatever. I like the variant head more, actually, as it looks to me more like a mask, I suppose.

  9. Looks pretty nice. I'm not certain about some of the proportions, though... maybe the legs are too short? I can't seem to place it... Anyway, the torso looks good, but the shoulders seem a little low, or maybe the neck is just too long. The staff in its hand is cool too- simple but effective.

  10. I love him! His colors are consistent, (despite some blue pins) his arms are very original, and so is actually his entire construction. Cool elemental ability as well. As for the mask, I usually find that custom heads are tough to do, but you managed one that looks a lot like a kanohi. I cannot wait to see more mocs from you. Excellent job!
Thanks Ranubis! The blue pins and liftarms were added deliberately as accents, though I'm not sure how well that turned out. I've had some experience with custom heads, so I'm glad you think this one was good.
This, here, is one pretty sweet MOC.I really like the colors, although I'm not sure if they would truly represent black holes. (I'm thinking more black and blue here. Still very cool, though.)- :b: :c: :2: :1:
Thank you! Since he represents black holes and stars, I was thinking along the lines of orange for stars, black and blue (pins, liftarms, other accents) for black holes, and light bley as sort of a neutral balance. Glad you like it nonetheless! :)
  11. Looks excellent! I like the flow of the torso and legs, it's great. I was told that somebody bought this at Brickfair, although I don't know how accurate the claim was. Of course if it was bought, you would know about it.... I think. :P

  12. This is pretty cool. The head and the legs are both nicely designed. The arms are also pretty cool. Although they're nicely done, the legs look a bit short. Great job on this though!
Thanks for the feedback! I wasn't sure what to do for the head, so I just doodled with some parts, and eventually got what you see on the MOC. The legs are actually almost as long as the torso; I suppose they could do well to be a little bit longer. Unfortunately I disassembled Sotiro a long time ago, as I do with most of my MOCs; otherwise I would try to improve him.
  13. Hello all! This will be my first MOC post on the site, so if I mess anything up majorly, please inform me. Sotiro is a unique Toa with the ability to control certain celestial events and forces, e.g. supernovas and black holes. Not much backstory other than that; the MOC itself was strongly inspired by the Transformers Prime incarnation of Soundwave.100_4673.jpgBrickshelf Gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=505849MOCpage:http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/327636(I'm not completely certain of how to resize images; if that is a problem then I apologize.)

  14. Interesting. Nice use of the HF feet; I've seen several failed attempts to incorporate them into a torso, but this one looks fine. Perhaps if some of the leg armor was trans-orange, it would tie in a bit better with the head.
