  1. Kopaka312 is right. Look at Teridax: he was supposed to work side by side with Mata Nui, take over control of the Matoran universe while Mata Nui went to a second robot and together reform Spherus Magna. However, his jealousy, greed, and ambition got in the way, and it delayed his destiny. But he still eventually helped reform the planet even if it wasn't what he intended to do.

  2. Whatever they imagined a Toa would look like when they transformed into one. I've often wondered what the limits to this are, though. I mean, say a Matoran had grown up in the forest around Ash Bears and for some reason they became his idea of a "Toa"; if he were to become a Toa himself, would he look like an Ash Bear or would he still acquire a humanoid form but with Ash-Bear-like qualities?
I think he would be able to tell the difference between an ash bear and a toa, but maybe he would think of them as having camouflaged armor or something jungle-y.However, I think the basic form for a toa is what Helryx looks like, since she was the first. But, yeah, XyzTheDay is totally right.
  3. Or perhaps his Toa destiny went out the window when he was no longer a Toa, and he gained a new Dark Hunter destiny, and then that was cut short when he was killed. There's no real way of telling.Destiny in the MU might perhaps be kind of like a Sims command (). You tell the Sim to go take a shower, and he will do that once his priority queue reaches that point. If there is a fire, however, he would focus on the fire first, for example, so if you intended "take a shower" to be his "destiny", then it just got sidetracked, but not ignored. And then he finds out there is no bathroom in the house because you're a bad architect, and thus Destiny gets even further sidetracked because he has to get/build/substitute a bathroom first. He realizes he's in mortal danger from fire, and goes to fulfill Destiny immediately! And if he dies in the fire while trying to make a shower stall in the kitchen sink, then that destiny goes out the window and someone else has to do it. Maybe his kid picks up his father's charred tools and makes a shower stall next door 30 years later, finally fulfilling his family's destiny. Or maybe he slips in the stall and never completes the task. It's a crazy world.
Wow, you make everyone sound expendable.I think everyone fulfills their destiny in some way. Your destiny could be to die first in a war. That isn't very fulfilling, but it gave a person behind you some cover. He lives and becomes the leader of a unit that ends the war and becomes a great hero. That is kind of a lame example, but I always thought that a destiny is destiny, no matter how large or small it may seem.
  4. @Bonesiii: Maybe the the "Chamber of Death" is using the same general tech the Red Star uses, just brought down to a smaller scale since it doesn't have as big a job to do (not less important however). It may not have to be connected to the Red Star.@CarkaJack: For some reason I could totally see that happening! That would suck if that was supposed to be the climax.@Main Topic: Could the "Spirit's Wish" Gateway have something to do with the Red Star? Tarduk went up that way to find it, and that's where it was on the map. Was it ever canonized that the spot was supposed to be the place of its construction and not foreshadowing for something bigger?

  5. So if the re-teleporter is broken, how come they didn't put everyone back during booster-rocket mode? Also, (I don't know if anyone ever brought this up) but are all those Toa Mangai that good ol' Terry sent to their deaths to get them out of Metru Nui are alive? Just speculation.EDIT: I checked BS01 and Teridax's page has been fixed. No need to worry, everyone!

  6. people who were disintegrated like Teridax

    According to BS01 Wiki:

After his death, he was transported to the Red Star and given a new body, but is unable to escape due to malfunctions in the star.
So, uh, there's apparently evidence that he somehow survived. Doesn't make sense to me in the slightest, and I'm half-hoping it was just someone leaping to conclusions.

Don't worry, that's people jumping to conclusions, especially because it seems Teridax is the only one with his page saying that. It's a misunderstanding of what the Red Star does; it doesn't create spirits, it teleports, existing spirits. If there is no essence to teleport, as it was in Teridax's case, then it's over. That, and we have special confirmation from GregF that Teridax is dead.

The member that added that is not staff, and has had some warnings before according his user talk page. It's not legit.
:sigh: That's a relief.I don't think all the Toa Mangai had to die. Some could have been trapped in some cunningly evil way.
  7. If that's true, then how come the Ignika started to break down almost as soon as it went in the water?
Well that's when it came into contact with the mutagen. That's how a slow-acting agent works. :)
Also, the squid launchers the Barraki had worked just fine(not the set ones, *ugh*), the Maxilos robots had nothing wrong with them, and the cordak blasters Nuparu found were perfectly functional. So slow wear and tear might be out.
Do any of those involve protodermic powers? The launchers mechanically shot the squids which were Aqua Magna creatures (if mem serves). The robots themselves were mechanical (I forget if they naturally had their own powers, but Makuta was possessing the one we saw in the main plot). And the Cordak blasters mechanically fire explosives; pretty sure there's no powers involved there either.
True, but didn't the Maxilos swords channel the energy inside them.BS01 said "Maxilos robots are capable of channeling their internal energies of black fire through their swords."
  8. Okay, trying to put an answer together. I'm not familiar with the Storylines and Theories section, but someone said 'Bohrok-Kal'...I'm wondering, once the Symbols had been placed into the Cube, would the Toa have regained their abilities? To me, it always seemed that the Nuva Symbols will always work as long as they are in the hands of a Toa, Matoran or Turaga. If anyone else has them, the symbols no longer give the Nuva their powers, like when the Kal took them, possibly as a fail safe to stop the Nuva being corrupted or something?Imagine if a Makuta got hold of the Symbols instead of the Bohrok-Kal...Right? Wrong? Maybe?
They only get their abilities back if the Symbols get back into the hands/possession of them/allies. If that happened, then they'd be able to just protocage the Bahrag again and make sure the Kal didn't steal the symbols back -- with an all-out attack on the Kal, maybe even more protocages. Therefore, no way Hosea the Kal would allow that. They'd keep and hide the Symbols to make sure the Bahrag stay free and the Toa stay powerless. And I agree about the failsafe thing. :)
Dude, that would make such an interesting alternate universe if the Kal had succeeded. Too bad Takanuva couldn't have gone to it.Back on topic, wouldn't they have to collect all of the Krana again before they could cage the Bahrag again?
  9. I'm a nerd who can read Matoran and like writing secret messages in it :P, so I figured it out. It takes a while, but once you get going, it's hard to stop. Kind of entertaining, just look at what Tazakk wrote. I think Maku also has a copy of the rulebook in her hut if I remember correctly.
It was Kotu who had it. I found the notes very interesting. I've been a fan since '01 and I played it for the first time this summer and I had never heard of the Onu-Po- dispute
  10. But I also don't see what the big deal is with Golden Kanohi if they can only use one power at a time and masks can be switched with the Suva almost instantly. Sometimes the Suva is inaccessible, but that only came up in Karda Nui when they didn't have golden masks anymore anyway.
We do already know that the Turaga used the mask searches to test the Toa. Not so much to give them practice but to prove they were trustworthy to the Turaga. The Nuva/Mata had a long history of training and experience prior to entering the canisters, and that skill was retained, though the conscious memories of it was not. That said, I'm sure more practice was helpful and the Turaga would have known that too. However, the Golden Kanohi did give significant advantage. The amount of time between each mask usage is much smaller than if you had to teleport them to the Suva.
I agree with this. If we can go by MNOG as the canonical switch time, then the switch appeared to take a second of concentration followed by another second to actually switch. Perhaps it was just one second in total if we count non-fight cutscenes, though then we have no idea when the Toa started concentrating on switching. But let's take Onua vs Lewa: It didn't come into play here because Onua could see Lewa coming from a mile away, but if you're using a Pakari and suddenly need to block at closer range, that two-second delay before the Hau is ready can be the difference between life or death.Golden Kanohi also have the advantage of being "disguised". You can see that the mask is golden and that it might possess more than one power, but even so you have no idea what power is getting thrown at you. Lhikan's Hau had just one power, and that was Shielding, fitting the shape. If Lewa trotted in with his golden Kanohi, however, people might get taken off-guard when he Speeds towards them instead of using Levitation. Then they might assume "OK, he's got a Kakama molded into the shape of a Miru", only to be taken off-guard again when he suddenly has Pakari-enhanced strength as well. Followed by them jumping back and trying a projectile, but nooope, Lewa's got a Hau too.
MNOLG isn't canon when it comes to the golden kanohi. Bionicle Chronicles: 1 is technically the canon source. They put all their kanohi onto statues of themselves and *pop* the golden kanohi appeared on the statues (not in those sound effects though, if I remember correctly; it was supposed to sound like bells and laughter).
  11. 1) When did Teridax take over (how many years since the MU was created)?2) The Makuta were created as biomechanical beings from non-sentient liquid antidermis, and eventually reverted back to their original liquid form, correct?3) Were they created by Mata Nui, or the Great Beings?4) When Teridax presented his plan to the rest of the Brotherhood, what made them follow it? What was in it for them?5) When were they first assigned regions (how many years since the MU was created)?6) When did Spiriah leave (how many years since the MU was created)?7) When did they abandon their inner light?8) Why did they abandon their inner light?9) How did they abandon their inner light?10) Are the Makuta programmed like the Matoran? If they aren't, were they before they became antidermis?11) Do the Makuta directly control Kraata, Rahkshi, and wearers of Infected Kanohi, or are they just the Makuta's slaves?12) Did the Makuta create Rahi from Viruses and liquid protodermis, or energized protodermis?13) When the Makuta became antidermis, did the armor they wore at the time become antidermis too, or just their mechanical and organic parts?14) Are the pre-antidermis Makuta basically masses of Kraata with mechanical parts and armor?15) How big are Makuta before they start absorbing things?
7-9I believe Greg said that the Makuta never had any light in them to begin with.13 No, in Shadows in the Sky Toa Ignika de-evolved Icarax and it said that organs an tissue grew. Plus could you imagine how gross it would be to be a mass of slugs in armor? Disgusting!
  12. That makes sense, but that would be counterproductive to efforts to repair the robot if it was breached. Unless... the damaging effects are the result of a different system, one that's meant to keep powerful artifacts out of the hands of aliens, and to prevent Matoran Universe beings from wandering around in the sea outside.
Well, repairing a breach shouldn't take long enough to immediately break the powers, right? The Toa Mahri's powers and the Ignika were not significantly affected in that time. But the Mahritoran's tools were, from prolonged exposure. So if they use powers to quickly repair a breach, the powers will remain but maybe be slightly weakened, but if they lose the artifact and it remains outside, given enough time it loses power to preserve secrecy. That's what I was thinking -- the slow decay effect could enable it to all be a constant part of the same mutagen, not two separate systems.
If that's true, then how come the Ignika started to break down almost as soon as it went in the water? Also, the squid launchers the Barraki had worked just fine(not the set ones, *ugh*), the Maxilos robots had nothing wrong with them, and the cordak blasters Nuparu found were perfectly functional. So slow wear and tear might be out.
  13. Wow, thanks

Quote“Mata Nui is so much junk in the Bara Magna desert by now,” said Pohatu. “You guys must not get out much.”“If that’s true, then we can’t send them back,” said the first Kestora. “There is nowhere to send them back to.”“Well, they can’t stay here,” said the second firmly. “We have too many as it is.”“We could keep them,” suggested the third. “Maybe a dissection would tell us why they can’t go back. Of course, we tried that before, and all we wound up with was a mess … a lot of messes, actually … but maybe this time --”Woah! could they have dissected some matoran from, say, the Matoran Civil War or the Mahri Nui matoran (those that got eaten or drowned)?
