At this point that would probably only happen if DeepBrick suddenly decides to share his copy. After all, nothing happened when City of Legends was put up

I've gotten into the Bionicle fandom content on Tumblr- it's probably one of the best places for headcanons and amazing fanart, if you can learn to steer clear of the drama.
Other than that, Pokemon Go has eaten up far too much of my free time, though it's less interesting after you complete the pokedex.
"""""The drama?""""" If you call a bunch of sjw 16 year olds arguing over nothing """drama""" then maybe

so what's everyone been doing since bionicle was kill?

What was Matoro holding to Takua when he says ENERGY in MNOG?

They were hands. In the first Bionicle book, they are described as "claw like", so take from that what you will

You know, I went back and starting rebuilding all of my Bionicle sets for no particular reason, and I was kind of shocked at the sheer amount of clone sets. While the Toa Mata/Nuva/Metru at least have some diversity, the Tohunga, Bohrok, Bohrok Kal, Rahkshi, Vahki, Visorak, Hordika, Piraka, and Inika hardly have any at all - the only thing differentiating any of them are different tools, colors, and occasionally a piece or two.
Now, I am not saying that I hate clone sets - I am especially fond of the Tohunga - but really? Was there a need for such a lack of diversity? I mean, building them was more monotonous than you could believe!

2001 on every level - sets, lore, multimedia, storybuilding - games! MNOG is what separates 2001 from 2002 - nothing outside of Bionicle's first year had anything with that kind of immersion. And LOMN! - oh, wait...
Anyway, I appreciate the other years as well - I like the whole 1984 vibe that 2004 gave (1984 & 2004: coincidence? I think not!)

Umarak is particularly cool looking IMO

Honestly, most combiners have never been great looking - but this year in particular had some pretty fugly ones, haha
case in point:

While I did not actively participate in the discussions, I did immediately spot the red flags when I heard that the sets were being pulled from shelves and were being spotted in clearance isles

The games were pretty fun. I would have preferred something with more meat to it, bit I am satisfied with what we got

Ninjago is the new Bionicle
This phrase gave me forum cancer.
Also, I'd love to see a source on that "1000 active fans" bit.
OT: Absolutely. Various franchises that are massive today started off slow and stumbled along the way. Several reboots and cancellations aren't rare these days. I honestly think G3 will be a thing in the future, as regardless of the low(er) sales of G2, Bionicle has written itself into the history of Lego like no other franchise. I mean, sure, trash (sorry, Ninjago fans. I have no issues with you, I'm just passionate) like Ninjago sells well, but it doesn't have the same depth, or weight in terms of influence as Bionicle did and does. With the right devices and approach, in the future Bionicle could be expanded into a semi-adult franchise too, or the story at least.
After all, things like Star Wars, DC and Marvel all have massive merchandise industries aimed at children, but you'd argue the core audiences of those franchises are adults. Sure, they didn't originate as children's franchises, and Bionicle did, but in the long run, a similar transition could be made.
I swear to god, you need to calm yourself. Stop looking to get actively triggered by anything and everything I say.
Ninjago is the new Bionicle, in that it has:
A) a (large) fanbase
B) a tv series
C) several videogames
D) and now a theatrical movie
Also, how many active Bionicle fans would you say there are? Enough to warrant at least the three years promised, right? OH! WAIT! Bionicle was cancelled after 2 years! I am not saying that less than 1000 people bought them, only that there are probably less than 1000 active fans.
Nope. 1000 active fans (and that's being very generous) cannot support a brand. Also, cutting Bionicle from Lego is like severing a child from their mother's umbilical chord.
Lego won't try again until they have a reason too. And, for now, Ninjago is the new Bionicle. It's getting a movie, right?
You do realize that 1000 fans wouldn't spawn a product line? BZPower is a mere fraction of sales. There are fans on plenty of other sites without accounts here, and many, many children who buy them as well. And there's parents buying them for kids, and people who buy them but just don't like fansites.
Seriously, if they thought only roughly a thousand people would buy them they wouldn't even think about it.
Well, it was cancelled after two years
Seriously, you're just strawmanning at this point. Don't make arguments if you're going to abandon them and bring up another random point.
How? Lego tried launching Bionicle again, nobody was interested, and it was cancelled after 2 years. How in anyway is that a strawman argument? It only illustrates the lack of interest in the line.
Bionicle does not have 1/1000th of the brand name appeal of something like Star Wars, or even Star Trek. The users of BZP/TTV/RRU/BMP does not even come close to the amount of people needed to bring Bionicle up to that level of pop culture.

General combiner thread I guess. So, anyone know any cool combiners (fan or not fanmade)?
I think that this:and this are pretty cool:

Am I alone in thinking that the Toa Metru are extremely awkward, more so, to an extant, than even the Toa Mata?
One of my biggest gripes with the sets themselves is the terrible way that you are supposed to attach the weapons. Nokama, Onewa, and Whenua each have their weapons held in by a sole blue pin, which is just about the most awkward way they could have done it. This is illustrated here:
The next, and arguably the most hindering aspect of the Toa Metru are the way in which the shoulders are held into place, although this is simply my opinion.
So what did you all think about the sets?

-
Hmmmm, I think that I vaguely remember having this sort of dream on several occasions. More often than not, though, I will dream about finding LOMN. Yeah, it's an obsession
-
Well, the cancellation of Bionicle G2 has brought about a sort of resurgence in my Bionicle interest, so I proceeded to breakout the shoebox in which I keep every G2 set I own disassembled (and on a semi-related note, about 99% of the CCBS parts I have).
So, I decided to start building all of the sets in the order I got them, or if you will, the order that they came out. For instance, I built the early 2015 sets, and then I moved on to the winter wave, and so on.
Anyways, I got around to thinking about the history of G2. I started from the beginning - the first leaks. I remember the debates, the excitement, the hypetrain. Then I progressed to the sets; particularly, how Walmart was giving the sets out about a month (I think anyway) early. I promptly ordered LoSS and Onua.
When they finally came, I nearly died. Seeing Bionicle back was amazing.
Well, I say all that to say this: wouldn't it be cool if there was some kind of visual timeline of Bionicle G2's history? As in, it would start with the very earliest leaks, some discussion - then move on to the first sightings of sets on shelves, and so on and so forth?
-
Presumably you could extract it from the SWF? Don't know that I've seen original tracks outside the Powerpack.
Well, yes, but I mean high quality music - the music in the game is so compressed that it hurts
-
Second of all - Bionicle G2 was a disaster.
I see you are still incapable of grasping the concept of an opinion.
Again
Honestly, just grow up
And you're telling me to grow up?
Yes. I am. That's exactly what I'm doing.
Bionicle is a toy; if you're being triggered by something related to a toy, then it really is time to grow up
-
That you have no response other than "shut up" attests to the fact that you have no grounds to stand on here.
Believe me, I was not implying that I want him to shut up. I was saying that I think that it's time for the users of this site to freaking grow up
This is a toy site, and the average user age, from what I've seen, is in their mid twenties. What does that show?

I don't want a G3. And after the disaster that was G2, there won't be one anyway
"I don't like thing therefore thing is objectively bad and obviously thing will never return"
Didn't you try to call me out on disregarding opposing opinions (and failing) in another thread?
Alright - first of all: calm yourself. Your toy is gone, and it's not coming back anytime soon
Second of all - Bionicle G2 was a disaster. That is why it is being cancelled after only2 years
Third - How did I try calling you out? By laughing at the fact that you used the word "disgusting"?
That is exactly the problem with your post - by laughing - you constantly laugh into the face of anybody who has an opinion that differs from yours. That is very insensitive, offensive and one might say even bullyish.
Honestly, just grow up
