I don't want a G3. And after the disaster that was G2, there won't be one anyway

"I don't like thing therefore thing is objectively bad and obviously thing will never return"

Didn't you try to call me out on disregarding opposing opinions (and failing) in another thread?

    :kakama:

Alright - first of all: calm yourself. Your toy is gone, and it's not coming back anytime soon

Second of all - Bionicle G2 was a disaster. That is why it is being cancelled after only2 years

Third - How did I try calling you out? By laughing at the fact that you used the word "disgusting"?

All in all, G2 was great and I'm extremely sad to see it go. This whole thing is made all the much worse for the G2 hater crowd practically celebrating. Disgusting.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

People who disagree with your opinion are disgusting?

How would you feel if something you love was cancelled, and other people acted as if the cancellation was a great thing and the thing you loved never should have existed in the first place?

I honestly wouldn't care in the slightest, it happens litterally all the time

  3. Personally, despite the cool sets,  and obvious effort to tie into G1 (both set wise, and story wise), I think that it would have been better for Bionicle to remain dead, rather to have been toted around and then cancelled after a measly two years when I think that three were promised. That is just embarrassing, and before someone writes a book about how there have been tons of Lego lines that have lasted only two years or less; yes, I know; this is Bionicle though.

Even if Lego had gone the route they did back in 2000, I'm not sure how much it would have helped; kids don't seem as receptive to that sort of thing as they did back then.

G2 ended because Lego didn't give BIONICLE a real chance from the offset. They again reused a ton of old pieces with only a few new ones, they didn't promote it very well, and they didn't try to expand the media and get it relevant to children again. They went for some cheap online cartoons instead of the CGI stuff we got in 2016 from the beginning. They had more faith this year with some of the new pieces and JtO, but it was too late and it wasn't enough. The only gave JtO for episodes to expand the story and the sets didn't look any better despite some of the new pieces.

"From the offset"?  "The offset" was LEGO dedicating their entire presence at NYCC to promote the BIONICLE reboot.  Everything you call lazy or careless was an attempt at bringing BIONICLE into the modern market.  The "cheap online cartoons" were designed with clarity and brevity for the generation with smartphones and other small screens, never mind that "cheap online cartoons" are some of the things the old BIONICLE fans look back on most fondly.  The part reuse is because CCBS is LEGO's constraction system now, and because they aren't about to go back to the massive bloat that caused them financial hardship in the first place, never mind that BIONICLE started as a TECHNIC sub-theme and the sets took several parts from previous themes like the Slizers.

You may think that LEGO should've seen BIONICLE's initial success and taken that as a sign that they need to sink a bunch of resources into a media franchise with lots of new parts that set it apart from everything else.  The reason they don't do that, though, is because last time they tried it the theme was named "Galidor" and it went badly for everyone involved.

Advertising to man children statistically doesn't even count. What you, and appearntly 70% of this community doesn't understand is that Lego, and by extension Bionicle, are children's toys. And before someone writes a book telling me "No, it's just not true! There is nothing wrong with a grown adult playing (no not building; call it what it is) with Legos!", remember; they are marketed towards kids whether you want it to be or not

  5. What did they expect when they handled the franchise with such a lack of effort and passion.True tragedy. Most shallow LEGO themes last longer than this, honestly its really sad that BIONICLE (BIONICLE of all things!!) would have such a short duration. What a waste. Plus LEGO is just going to blame the brand again. BIONICLE has so much potential to honestly be up there with the best of franchises, but the reboot was yet another disappointment. It has well earned it place up on the shelf with the fantastic four and robocop reboot. Sad that BIONICLE has be put to rest again, when with the right touch it could be the huge beloved franchise it once was and more.

On the plus side G2 is over so thats good  ^_^

Agreed. Bionicle G1 fills me with nostalgia - in a good way. This new Bionicle... was just pathetic. I mean really, cancelled after less than 2 years? It's an embarrassment, and a disgrace to the bionicle name

it is no secret that compared to G1, they really didn't try

People have been saying as much since the start of G2, and I can't tell if it's out of genuine ignorance of the effort that's been put into making the reboot into a worthy BIONICLE story or if they are so resistant to the idea that their interests might have shifted over the years that they have to project blame on the designers for why they don't like it as much.

    Please; try to understand.

With G1, they tried because they were about to go bankrupt

with G2, there was no need to try - Lego is now very successful

    G1 lasted 11 years

    G2 barely lasted 2

    Please do the math

    But what do I know

Exactly. You don't know. No one here can claim that the team behind G2 didn't put effort or any passion into creating it, because you weren't on said team. The cancellation just means that it wasn't doing as well as Lego had liked, it doesn't mean that the G2 team didn't put their heart and soul into trying to create something for people to enjoy. Saying that they didn't put any effort into it is just downright rude.

Wow - Calm yourself; it is no secret that compared to G1, they really didn't try

How is it that people still think this?  How is it that people ever thought this?

Well, I should think that the cancellation is sheer proof that you are utterly wrong. But what do I know
