So I know a 5 year old kid who is just getting into the Gen 2 Bionicles (ah, memories c:) and I had the chance to show him the original Toa Mata, which he found pretty hilarious and "wierd". He particularly poked fun of the original Miru (and to think we thought the Mask of Jungle looked wierd ). To top that off, he kept asking me questions of the Gen 1 story line. The struggle was real lol.

 

Anyway, my point is it was interesting to get the perspective of Gen 1 from a child just getting into Gen 2.

Just looked at the mini comics and noticed that this new wave parallels to the Bohrok-Kal saga:the toa have emerged victorious with newfound power face a new, unknown, more powerful enemy who work against them by stealing their direct source of power

Perhaps one of these will be a reward to the winner of the Bionicle Target Tournament coming in April?

Sigh... it is at this point where my firm decision to avoid Facebook proves to work against me. :/

I am finding that watching these webisodes without audio or subtitles first is very amusing

~{ IC: Evix - Team Tarakava - Edge of the City }~

 

Evix noticed a stirring in the depths beyond the bubble; a small school of deep-sea fish could be seen darting about frantically. "Ah! Finally; Phase Two it is!" With this remark, he strayed away from the edge of the bubble back towards the city, the bright ring of flame still surrounding him as he kept his concentration on his Shredder Orbs. He found a section of it with small buildings and began to focus his elemental gravity in the center of one. The building began to creak and moan, and a few moments later, it collapsed inward on itself, compressing into a floating sphere of rubble. "This should do the trick!" Evix said as he lessened the gravity on the sphere and watched it float gently upward to a height, noticeable from a good distance. Evix positioned himself underneath it with an upraised fist, and then suddenly released his hold on it. The rubble-sphere came crashing down towards an unphased Evix until it finally met his fist. In that instant, he regained his gravitational hold on it, making it lighter so its weight would not crush him. Evix had absorbed all of the kinetic energy from the rubble-sphere, strengthening his elemental gravity powers through his ability. 'Hmm. Not quite enough power for Phase Three. A few more times will do.' he thought as he raised the sphere for a second go.

~{ IC: Evix - Team Tarakava }~

 

In an instant, he was... elsewhere. A city. A dome, no, a giant bubble. Underwater. As uneasy as it made him feel, Evix took in his surroundings and began to strategize. He looked down and noticed a cyan-colored sash of light around his torso, and looking around he noticed that others who had been thrown into the arena had the same manifestation.

 

At a glance outside the bubble, Evix saw that the blue of the ocean surrounding the city was particularly dark, and an idea sparked to life. Evix casually started to walk towards the dark fringes of the bubble-dome.

 

Along the way, he had seen that some of his fellow teammates were allying with themselves and noticed that one larger group seemed to be recruiting. 'Larger numbers would give a threatening edge,' Evix thought, 'but for now, I think it would be in my best interest as well as the others' to keep away from what I have planned.'

 

He made it to the edge of the bubble and peered into the dark void of ocean. "Let's stir things up a bit, shall we?" Evix said with a grin on his face as he flexed his arms in preparation for "Phase One".

 

As a start, he focused on the orbit of two of his Shredder Orbs, withdrawing the remaining one to its special pouch for later. The two orbs around him began to orbit faster and faster, their orbit widening all the while. Their speed increased to even greater heights, blindingly so, and soon enough, the air around the orbs' began to spark and crackle. With a flash of light, the two orbs suddenly burst into a brilliant flame, caused by friction with the air.

 

"Now to wait," Evix said to himself as he activated his kinetic sub-ability, Energize.

That voice... yes, that voice had been one of the voices he had heard while unconscious! Round Two? 'So this is a competition then,' Evix thought. Though he had already a river at this conclusion moments after he had awoken in this place, he felt he needed some sort of confirmation.

 

"Count me in!" he said in reply to the voice.

Everyone's excited about infinite characters and I just finished my second profile. 

 

Name: Selaphiel

Species: (Alternate Universe) Modified Zyglak

Power 1: Physiology: The Zyglak species of Selaphiel's universe lack the protodermis consuming disease and Pit Mutagen resistance of their MU equivalents, but possess a unique ability to match their unique societal role. Instead of possessing near-invulnerability against EE-powered attacks, they are extremely resistant to all forms of generated-energy attacks (meaning that, for example, neither a Toa of Gravity nor a Rahkshi of Gravity would be able to use their powers directly on Selaphiel; this might be how a Zyglak works in the MU, but it isn't clear, so I wanted to make sure). The AU Zyglak species is otherwise physically identical.

Power 2: Kinetics: Due to her introduction to the mutagenic substance that produces Bohrok/Krana-Kal, Selaphiel possesses the ability to create, control, and absorb kinetic energy, much like a Ta-Toa could Fire (including energy system). She is greatly skilled in absorbing kinetic energy and deft in manipulating it; energy creation, however, takes quite a lot of energy and is only used when she is unable to generate or acquire it through other means. Some example manipulations of kinetic energy include: absorbing an object's kinetic energy to negate its movement, infusing kinetic energy into a strike to give it more force, or redirecting kinetic energy to create a rebound. She has spent decades honing and exploring the power's uses, and is extremely adroit in its use.

Power 3: Self Density Control: Due to her mutation, Selaphiel's body was severely modified and naturally reverts to intangibility, forcing her to concentrate when she wishes to physically interact. Due to living with this ability for many years, she is able to control her density with great skill and precision (think Zaktan; she's been forced to live with being an intangible being unless she directly focuses on staying at normal density). When at very low densities she moves via self-propulsion (once again, think Zaktan). When completely intangible, or at a low enough density, instead of using her sensory apparatus and normal physical functions, Selaphiel becomes what is essentially an Iden user's spirit: invisible, moving via flight (not at great speeds; think a Kadin user), and impalpable (no weird possession of course, or any other of the mask's powers/conditions). While intangible she cannot use her kinetics power.

Appearance: Of average size for a Zyglak (nearly two bio), Selaphiel is best described as wiry; lean and powerful, but not particularly hefty or brawny. Her skin is varying shades of gray, ranging from ash to charcoal, covered with with argent-coloured designs similar to those found on the Bohrok-Kal's foreheads. Her eyes, due to the mutation, are a dead, unreflective gray, disconcerting in their lack of apparent emotion. Her clawed hands are the most obvious indicator of her dangerous nature, but there is something else, a subtle atmosphere of sinister intentions that is infused with every one of her physical features.

Bio: Hailing from a universe where Makuta and Toa competed to rule an empty GSR, and Zyglak, Vortixx, and Skakdi worked with Matoran as labourers, Selaphiel was the result of a Makuta experiment in applying, among other substances, the mutagenic substance responsible for Bohrok-Kal to other beings. Created in hopes of designing a being that could overcome the stalemate created by their Toa opponents, Selaphiel was introduced to both the mutagenic substance and Kraata in hopes of being the prototype for an easily replicable creation. It didn't exactly go as expected; instead of gaining perfect control over Density and the elemental power of one of the Kal, Selaphiel received limited versions of the Density Control Kraata's power and an element none of the Makuta had ever encountered before. After recovering from the experiment and training with her powers, Selaphiel was launched directly into Toa-killing missions, leading to nearly a century of exterminating high-risk targets. The Makuta initially expected her to attempt to run or escape their power, but her mental state had been disrupted by her traumatic transformation, resulting in her current twisted state.

Personality/Other: Selaphiel sees the world through a very dissociative lenses, suffering from PTSD-induced Depersonalization Disorder. She also displays disturbingly vehement bloodlust and self-mutilating tendencies, although due to her dissociation she has little apparent emotional reaction to her actions and their results. She is violent and minatory, but this is displayed only through physical acts, not emotion or expression, resulting in a dissonant illusion of impassivity.

Just as he had left the Training Sector, Evix heard strange noises from where he had come. As it had piqued his interest, he quietly backpedaled to the entrance of the sector. He peered around the corner into the room, but all he saw was the Toa that had been there before. "Must be hearing things." Evix muttered to himself. As he began to turn around, a slight shimmer against one of the walls caught his attention...

Evix slowly opened his eyes. Wait, had he been... sleeping?... standing up?! He noticed his Shedd Orbs had fallen out of orbit and had made quite noticeable craters in the floor around him. "Oops..." Evix said as he returned them to orbit.

 

The Toa he had asked to train with still seemed to be looking around, and seeing as there was a lack of response, strangely, he left the area to explore the facility more and gather information.

Guys, I'm open for interaction, my character, toa Fulmen is currently in the training sector, looking for a sparring partner.

After walking down the hall for what seemed to be hours, Evix came across a large door to the entrance of what seemed to be a training area. He spied a Toa of Lightning, who seemed to be looking around for something. 

 

"Need a sparring partner?" Evix suggested to the fellow toa inquisitively, eager to test his battle skills for what felt like the first time in ages.

Evix suddenly regained consciousness, startled at the things he had just... heard? dreamed? The voices seemed too real...

 

The first thing he noticed was that he was stiff and ached all over, especially his spine. The second thing he noticed was that his face was planted squarely against a wall and that his back was arched in a most uncomfortable position. Quickly getting up after realizing his rather embarrassing predicament, he stood up in what seemed to be a corridor. He retrieved his three Shredder Orbs from a small pouch he carried, careful not scrape himself against their extremely course surfaces, and placed them into a slow orbit around himself using his gravity powers, as he was accustomed to.

 

"Were am I? Who were those voices I heard?"

 

Yet somehow, he felt he had known the answers to these questions for sometime now... but how? This place seemed... familiar somehow. He felt he had a purpose here, and that was to fight. At this thought, a slow smile crept across his mask.

 

Puzzled as to where he was in this "facility", he started walking down the corridor, wondering what he might come across.

Well since nothing was officially said about my character’s newer profile, I think I will tweak it a little. The power of light is pretty versitile when in the right hands, but in this case it seems too mainstream B)

Power/Weapon 2: A set of three incredibly dense, gumball-sized orbs of an unknown material; the surface of these orbs is incredibly abrasive. Evix keeps these orbs in an orbit around him most of the time and in a special pouch when not.

Power/Weapon 3: Limited control/manipulation over kinetic energy:

- Evix can absorb all kinetic energy from most physical attacks, rendering them inert upon impact as if they were only touching him

- While a blunt attack will stop dead in its tracks, sharp objects will still be able to do harm to Evix despite losing the force behind it

- Evix can also absorb kinetic energy created by himself if he so chooses (ex: punching a wall), but in doing so he cannot do any physical damage

- The amount of kinetic energy absorbed is dependant on how powerful the hit was

- There are a number of options Evix can choose from to do with the energy he stores, though only one option may be used at a time (per event) and has a significant cooldown period (through the duration of an event; so a single option may only be used every other event):

Just so you know, the BZPRPG is a separate RPG. You shouldn't worry about conforming to those guidelines unless you are actually joining the BZPRPG.

How did this fighter find the one single mask of light in their universe?

This is a very interesting point, and coincidentally I was just reading the BZPRPG rules for the first time (and now I am facepalming for not doing so in the first place), so excuse me while I clean up my character profile to fit the rules and get more "officialized" so-to-speak

Question: during battle events are characters allowed to create "stage hazards" that effect everybody? (Ex: creating a pool of lava in the arena)

I really think you should simplify the power, but that's subjective.

So if I understand correctly, he can choose to use one kinetic-absorption type per battle?

Species: Toa of Light

Power 1: Elemental control of Light – however, it is not as general as normal Elemental Light powers. Ten has, specifically, focused on creating hardlight objects, lending them far more solidity than a normal Toa’s projections, and being a literal flashlight. He is unable to:

-Turn into light

-Fire true lasers (Though he can create hardlight projectiles)

-Create visible illusions (Aside from eliminating shadow)

Power 2: The Kanohi Huna, mask of Invisibility. Turns the user invisible. Normally, it would cast a shadow, but because Ten is capable of dispelling darkness he is visibly undetectable...when he is giving his full attention to using the mask and removing his shadow. He can’t really use the mask and his hardlight abilities in-synch with one another.

Weapon 3: A mechanical arm. This is of note because of the arms’ capabilities. The arm is stronger than that of his organic arm, though not extravagantly so, and is made of pure metallic protosteel. That is not the important thing, however. The arm has a built-in sword, mounted on the forearm. This sword is, of course, detachable. The arm also can “absorb” the sword, converting his entire arm into the blade. Or he could detach the blade and use it like a normal person...but where’s the fun in that?

Appearance: Ten is a tall and lanky Toa of Light, clad in white armor...for the most part. Where most Toa of Light would have gold plating, Ten has silver instead. The entirety of his left arm is silver, whereas his right arm only has silver shoulderpads. His chest and legs have silver highlights in the white. His mask is the same silver as his left arm, and shaped, oddly enough, like the Avohkii. Reason being is that it’s a reminder of the great Toa Takanuva. His eyes are a brilliant, bright shade of emerald green.

Bio: Ten’s history remains a mystery, even to himself. Mostly because he didn’t care about it. After all, why care about a universe where there’s absolutely nothing to do? Even as a Toa, the Matoran needed no defending, there was no looming threats, or anything. Being brought to Bionifight was a welcome relief. In fact, he found it far more entertaining, and overall just better than his old life. The tournament ended. Ten was sent back to his old, boring universe, the one he cared nothing about. He barely even put up with it, hoping, and wishing, to be taken back to the tournament. And, eventually, his wish was granted. The tournament began, and he fought once again. And, again, he was sent back. Now, he is back again, ready to fight.

It gets boring protecting Matoran, y’know?

Personality/Other: Ten is an upbeat, happy-go-lucky sort of guy. He rarely takes anything seriously, even death. In fact, he often does make jokes and quips when fighting, even at his own expense. He’s loud, overly friendly, and a bit too trusting of others.

Then again, being backstabbed in a match isn’t that bad. You can at least say some bad### lines as you die or something.

I know I am not in charge of determining the validity fo your character's profile, but I would like to point a few things out.

1. Creating hardlight objects, casting realistic illusions, and firing lasers are all generally assumed when referring to a Toa of Light's abilities, and one would not necessarily need to specialize in them (see BS01's page: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Light)

2. A Toa of Light using a mask of concealment would be kind of pointless because they could produce a similar effect by bending the light around them As well as eliminating the shadow, though I am not sure how much concentration this would actually take.

 

Sorry for nitpicking, but I just wanted to let you know that you could save some explanation and have an open power/weapon slot if you really wanted to

1. Creating hardlight objects, casting realistic illusions, and firing lasers are all generally assumed when referring to a Toa of Light's abilities, and one would not necessarily need to specialize in them (see BS01's page: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Light)

2. A Toa of Light using a mask of concealment would be kind of pointless because they could produce a similar effect by bending the light around them As well as eliminating the shadow, though I am not sure how much concentration this would actually take.

 

Sorry for nitpicking, but I just wanted to let you know that you could save some explanation and have an open power/weapon slot if you really wanted to
