Okay, so you probably read my entry about coincidences below, right? Well, it got weirder.

Last night, I dreamed about Glatorian Legends finally coming out at my Wal-Mart, and the last part of my dream I was gawking at them on the shelf. I vividly remember all the Glatorian Legends cost exactly $12.66, except Stronius which I was planning to buy on this dream trip to the store. He cost $12.86, and I was upset in my dream about this strange 20 cents more he cost. Oh, and also, the regular Glatorian were on sale, but I don't remember how much. I wasn't focusing on them because I already had all of them.

So then I wake up, go through my morning routines, and sat down at my computer. First thing I do is open my browser, on which BZP is set as the homepage. What do I see as the top news article? This.

    Somebody halp meh pleez D8

Oh, also, I posted this as close to 12:34:56 07/08/09 (Central time) as I could, in celebration of 123456789 Day! =D
Darn browser froze as I posted it. It was drafted by the right time, but not published until I could unfreeze the browser...

Thiiis is your singing telegram, I hope it finds you well!

You're invited to a party, 'cause we think you're really swell.

Turakii's turning 21, so help us celebrate,

The cake will be delicious, the festivities first-rate!

There will be games and dancing, bob for apples, cut a rug,

And when the party's over we'll gather 'round for a group hug!

There's no need to bring a gift,
just a post will be enough,

Birthdays mean having fun with friends, not getting lots of stuff.

It won't be the same without you, so we hope that you'll say yes,

Oh please, oh please R.S.V.P., and come and be our guest!

So one year ago on March 29th, Takuma Nuva convinced me to watch Episode 1 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I then went on to watch five more episodes that night. That was the night I became a brony.

I did not get a healthy amount of sleep that night.

In the past year, I've bought pony merch, helped out a bit with several brony collabs and projects, and I even got to meet up IRL with a brony in my area for coffee! (He even gave me an amazing hand-carved woodwork Fluttershy!)

So, in celebration of an entire year filled with pony, I've decided to face my fears and upload a complete vocal cover I recorded of The Flim Flam Brothers Song. Enjoy!

Bumped because it was halfway through Page 2 today.

And I think this is the first time I actually remembered the date!

But yeah, NEW SPINNY CELEBRATION TIME

This past year has had its ups and downs, good times and bad, as any year would; but overall, it's been one of my most awesome, memorable, and accomplished years of my life. Not only because of things that happened and cool events I attended, but especially in personal growth.

I'm going to admit, I've always been a lurker online. That is to say, I've been content to join forums and websites, browse them almost daily, but rarely (if ever) actually post or contribute anything. I'm especially guilty of this on BZP, but also countless other websites and communities I've been a part of. I've always been too nervous and worried I wouldn't fit in, even on a website dedicated to a common interest (such as BZP). Really, it's a miracle I managed to get such an awesome close circle of BZP best friends, considering my infrequent (read: virtually nonexistent) activity here. This year, I actually started working to change that. You may not have noticed, but this blog has had more entries this year alone than from all entries in 2008-2011 combined.

Why the sudden change? Well, as ridiculous as it sounds, I owe it to the brony community. Although I was initially a lurker there too, the supportive atmosphere slowly convinced me to get more involved this year; to participate in discussions, and eventually even a few collaborative projects. I gained friendships, experience, and most importantly, confidence in my ability to contribute my humor, insight, and skills in any online community (not just among my closest friends).

In 2012, I went from almost no online activity to the point where I'm confident enough to record songs and even voice act for collaborative projects (more on that when it's completed).

Prior to this year, my actual social life also suffered. I had next to no real-life friends, and I was too introverted and shy to attempt to meet people. Thanks to a good friend convincing me, I got over that and started attending my local brony meetups (which are not as much about pony as they are about hanging out, playing video games, doing general fun stuff together) and got to meet people my age, with similar interests to my own. I'm still far from being a socialite, and I still get pretty nervous and uncomfortable in social situations, but I now have real-life friends who like me for who I am, and I'm not quite so terrified of meeting new people anymore. It sounds sort of pathetic, but I feel it's a huge step forward for me and I couldn't be happier.

In 2012, I went from almost no real-life friends, to about two dozen friends I hang out with on a fairly regular basis.

How does BZP tie into all this? Well, if it weren't for my newfound confidence in myself both online and in real life, I probably would never have attended BrickFair VA and finally met some of my longtime best friends (and all you other awesome bros). Seriously, if Brickfair took place just six months earlier, I probably wouldn't have had the guts to go at all. Also, it would have been February and cold and miserable, so there's that too.

All in all, 2012 was a great year of growth, self-improvement, and friendships. I hope 2013 is even better!

Here's a recap of some cool 2012 things!

Just so my blog doesn't get stale (again), I've got a question/discussion topic for you.

If you could have any ONE superpower, as yourself in your own life, what would be your choice and why?

    Choose wisely.

Also I'm pretty sure this is my shortest blog entry yet.
  7. Avohkah Tamer
I haven't outright mentioned it here yet, but I do have Animal Crossing: New Leaf! I figured I'd toss a short entry on here to let you guys know if you didn't already.

I'm the mayor of a nice little town called Everfree (Here's my town flag). Nice villagers, nice building layout. I've got a big ol' orchard of every single fruit up in the corner of my town too.

Mostly been working on collecting everything (furniture, clothing, fish+bugs+fossils), paying off town enhancements (I should have Brewster's Cafe funded by tonight), etc. Not so much actual design or town decoration yet, that comes later.

Unfortunately, due to my firewall, I'm unable to play online multiplayer on AC:NL from my home network at the moment until I figure out the port to unblock, so I'm going to hold off on giving out my friend code for now. Unless of course you guys just want my code regardless, for when I get it working, or for one of my other games which do work over WiFi.

Now, back to bell grinding, and mourning the death of Google Reader tomorrow!

Ask me things and I will answer things!

Because jumping on bandwagons late is fun, and also because I need blog filler material since I have nothing else to blog about.

    I'll put all answers here:

    I'd say probably Joe.
I dream of electric sheep. Do they count as farm animals?
The difference is that one of them is a duck.
I dunno, but I'd like to shake his hand; he made my baby fall in love with me~
    Approximately 28.2 sgu* of sand.
More like a Daytime Lord. And only during the summer.
I'd have to say Brickfair, because I've been a fan of Lego for a lot longer than MLP, because I got to meet and hang out with all you guys, and because I finally got to meet some of my long-time best friends in-person for the first time ever.
Honestly, it's a pretty close margin, though. Getting to hang out and sing karaoke with some of the staff writers from MLP was amazing. Better step up Brickfair's awesomeness in 2013!

Back in time to my birthday, in fact!

NOW EVERYBODY GIVE ME PRESENTS AGAIN.

So I guess I'm kinda glad I haven't blogged or posted much in the past few months, because I lost pretty much nothing. That's not to say I haven't been up to anything interesting, I'm just lazy.
My condolences to those of you who weren't lazy, and as a result lost a bunch of posts and stuff. (Honestly though, I'm so sorry :C)

Expect blog entries about some, all, or none of the following topics in the near future:
    Pokemon
    Weird Al Yankovic
Pumpkin (if it turns out good, I still haven't picked a design)
    Team Fortress 2
    Ponies
    Doctor Who
    Other Things
Alternatively, if you're too impatient to wait for my blog entries here, you could just stalk me on Twitter like everyone else, because I'm actually pretty active there.

    Oh man, you guys.

Take a wild guess who's officially registered for BrickFair.

    Yep, you guessed it!

    Takuma Nuva!

And guess who our very own Evil Blog Master is going to be bringing with him to BrickFair!?

That's right, HIS COUSIN! (Man, you're so good at this)

Okay fine, I'll stop with the fake-outs and make my announcement:

I've just officially registered and paid for BrickFair!

I'll actually be hopping on Takuma's train when it stops through my area, hanging out with him all the way to BrickFair, and even splitting a hotel room 'cause he's just that awesome.

This'll be my first time to BrickFair, so any tips from longtime attendees? Like how do I even mentally prepare for this level of amazing???

This has been an in-depth review of Brickfair from my own humble perspective.
I trust this detailed itinerary was both insightful and informative, and I look forward to providing further professional retrospectives such as this for future shenanigans.

So, BrickFair is over, and I'm currently on the train heading back home.

I'm gonna be perfectly honest here.

That was the worst BrickFair I've ever attended!
Because it was the only BrickFair I've ever attended. =P
I'll miss all of you guys so much. :[

I'll blog about ALL THE THINGS when I can get to a computer.

Gonna keep this Day 1 recap entry short because I'm super tired:

    Got ~2 hours of sleep
Woke up and got to flight with an hour to spare
Flight went swell, trekked across airport to meet up with Bfahome
Arrived at hotel and met up with Takuma
    EXPO CENTER
Basically wandered around saying hi to people and setting up MOCs
Slapstick comedy shenanigans with Sumiki, Xaeraz, Zatth, and co.
Got breadsticks at the COMBINATION PIZZA HUT AND TACO BELL
    Word Crimes
    Played bingo and didn't win
Played door prizes and didn't win
    BZP VINE SHENANIGANS
    Walmart for FOODSTUFFS

Tomorrow should be a lot more action-packed since more exhibitors and vendors will finally be set up, and more event things will happen. I'll try to get lots of photos as well.

    OFF TO BED
  14. Avohkah Tamer
So... Pretty late question, I know, but anyone here going to be at Brickworld Chicago tomorrow?

I plan to be there (during public hours) as usual, so in the off chance a fellow attendee spots this blog entry, look out for the guy in the dark green BZPower shirt and the backpack, walking around snapping photos of every single MOC with my phone. If you see me, stop me and say hi!

Sadly there are never very many BZP members I've been able to find at the smaller Brickworld convention (I only met one member last year), but that's why I also plan to be at Brickfair VA this August. So many fun shenanigans to be had at the BZPower booth. (Srsly, if you live near the D.C. area or otherwise can afford the travel, GO TO BRICKFAIR. It is so much fun.)
  15. Avohkah Tamer
...is full of awesomeness. Like, seriously.

(note: linked photos are all 2,000 x 1,500 pixel approximately 200kb jpegs (half the original size, XD), they may load slow depending on your connection speed.)

It was my first Lego convention ever. I went last year because it is extremely close to me compared to other conventions. I expected it to be some small thing with some tables showing off some Bionicle inventions. I walk in the lobby to pay to go in, and there are some cool Mindstorms-powered working slot machines someone made. I'm all "Cool, maybe they'll have one or two Mindstorms things that do some complex thing!". My dad pays up for him, me, and my brothers, and he also pays for some t-shirts (with this logo in b/w on the back) and pins for souvenirs. We walk down a hall on our way in, and I hear the sound of tons of people talking growing louder. I walk in the door.

    Glorious...

It was nothing like I expected. I was greeted by a huge table with Jurassic Park scenes portrayed throughout the entire park. I was all "OH MY GOSH" and took tons of photos. Then I look up from that. The whole, huge room is FILLED with stuff even more awesome than that. Huge, ceiling-high models of buildings like the Sears Tower (and the ceiling in that room was very high). Crowds and crowds of people. Vignettes and MOCs of everything imaginable. Booths for stuff I never imagined existed, like BrickArms custom Lego guns (GASP WHY DIDN'T I GET A PHOTO OF THAT) and Kaminoan Fine Clonier minifig decals and custom minifigs. A guy selling people the opportunity to make custom minifigs out of this huge bin with pieces even as old as the original Space theme (but I got there late in the day, when those were all snatched up)!

Brickworld is coming up this weekend. I will be going on Saturday's open hours. If you live anywhere near Wheeling, Illinois, you HAVE to go. You won't regret it, I promise.

Who reading this is going / decided to go after reading this? =P

P.S., as an added bonus I included a link to a hidden photo of something mysterious! You're awesome if you found it on your first go-through.

    Oh, man, tonight was awesome.

I just got home from my first-ever brony meetup at a local Colonial Cafe restaurant! Around 25 people total showed up to hang out and discuss everything pony. (Photo*) (Also, try to guess which one is me)

We showed off our pony collections on a big table, jokingly argued over who is best pony, sang Winter Wrap Up (among many other songs), ate ice cream, and then afterwards about 10 of us raided a nearby Toys R Us for all their pony stuff!

Only I didn't actually buy any pony stuff, because they didn't have anything I was still missing from my wishlist. Still waiting for the new blind bag ponies wave 2-4, as well as the TRU-exclusive brushables that come out this fall.

So I walked a couple aisles over to the Lego section and they had several boxes of Series 7 minifigures!
I quickly dug through them and managed to find all 16 minifigs with no dupes, as well as Wolverine's Chopper Showdown set. Woo!

All in all, an awesome night. This particular brony meetup is monthly, and I am so attending again in June.
  17. Avohkah Tamer
Obligatory blog entry since LM ordered me to blog in many font styles.

I'll get to my catch-up-on-everything-since-I-last-blogged stuff in some future entry, but for now, I've got something to show you!

A website posted this image showing the infamous Gulf Oil Spill from space, with added contrast and false color to see the spill clearer:

Now I ask you guys, what do you think that spill kinda looks like? As you've probably guessed by this entry's title, I see a pirate. You can see his hat, one eye, his moustache, beard, a sorta-mouth, and what LM noticed that appears to be a pipe. I, being the weird person that I am, decided to fire up MS Paint and use my laptop's terrible trackpad to create an ARTIST'S RENDITION of said pirate.
    Take a look.

    Opinions?

    ...or at least SHOULD be...

After searching about 3 stores yesterday, I FINALLY found one with the new sets! I got Toa Onua (Who is awesome), and Takanuva (WHO IS EXTREMELY AWESOME). =P

Yesterday I played for a long time on Pirates Online, and I even recruited a couple BZP members for it in the past couple days! At this point, our Guild (club) contains:
David Wavetamer (me) Michael Wavetamer (my brother who stole my last name. =P) Samuel Goldrage (DudeNuva) Sven Lockshot (Torhuki) Takuma Darkblade (Takuma Nuva) Laughing Man (you know who this is. XD) Laughing Girl (Turakii's name) DJ Reidak the Destroyer (DJ Reidak) Yep, there are a lot of us on there!
EDIT: I'll edit this whenever another BZP member joins our Guild. Yesterday, we added DJ Reidak.

Now, this may be the last entry I get to make, since BZP's birthday week is over today, just contact me if you have an account on Pirates or plan to get one, we love having BZP members around on there!
