  1. Just wait until the coronavirus is thing. I'm not getting a real vacation either.
  2. I think you're thinking of the pink people. The red people are retired staff.
  3. I dig that llama. Thanks for the pictures @Black Six!
  4. How to construct a good Bionicle theatrical film: Hire Greg to write it, set the story in an alternate universe version of the Red Star. Have all the dead people fight each other and comment on their miserable lives while drinking refreshing beverages. Since the dead characters on the Red Star are all interesting characters with cool backstories, they could just be introduced to a new audience without getting too involved in the other stuff. Instead of randomly throwing Kopaka and Pohatu in there, make it so the characters’ backstories contribute to solving the mystery that allows the characters to escape the Red Star. That way we can throw in the old theme of teamwork to appease all of the fans from 2001. Then we also get the scene of overcoming everything, even death and the evil Kestora, and the heartwarming scene of all of the dead people being reunited with their friends. For added tears, set it during a war on Spherus Magna so the audience is rooting for the dead characters to escape. Would fly off shelves.
  5. Such an extremely pro business move for Lego - the overlap in target audience between gaming and Lego is enormous. I hope that they get a lot of money from this that they can put toward making more original story-based themes.
  6. I thought Makuta had to appear to be fighting the Toa at every turn, regardless if it made sense, to conceal The Plan. Because if the Toa figured out the Plan, they could have moved forces in place to stop him. Makuta was betting on the Toa's victory at Voya Nui, but he had to appear like he wasn't. Hence the Piraka and the whole taking over Maxilos thing. Also, the Piraka were Dark Hunters who were famously at war with the Brotherhood, so they weren't exactly cool with whatever the Makuta had planned. They were trying to stop him, regardless of whether that made sense either. They were just trying to steal the mask for profit and to take over the universe. Teridax didn't "need" the Piraka. The Piraka inserted themselves into the story on their own - he just used them to further his illusion since they were available.
  7. If 2016 counts, Umarak the hunter. He just wouldn’t stand up right and kept falling over, and his blade thing was too long. I ended up using his blade to hold him upright. The studs fell off the ammo holder, too, since it was loose and kept smacking everything. For 2001 Vakama’s faults, at least he stayed together and didn’t fall on his bum.
  8. Which brings us to another question: why does BZP inspire so much unpaid labor from people, and inspire them to spend so much time on it that they may later regret? Yeah, he wasn’t allowed to interact with people under the age of 13 without certain protections. BZP didn’t have those protections or the ability to tell that all their users were over 13. If one 12-year-old had a dangerous interaction with Greg, or one that was iffy, TLG could get sued. I’ve been on a COPPA-certified site before. Emails are sent to “parents”, random names are assigned to members with strict naming controls to ensure that nobody gives out their real first and last name. No face reveals, no revealing where you live or you get banned, etc. You can’t post photos that reveal your location either. Needless to say, it would be a hard pill for most of us to swallow, and it wouldn’t get us Greg back anyway at this point.
  9. From what I recall, back in 2011 we had to fight to get the site mentioning thing lifted. Nothing changes on BZP without a war. If the ban on mentioning other sites had to do with Greg, we wouldn't have had to fight so hard to get it lifted. If Greg was paid to answer questions, TLG likely paid him directly. If TLG found out that he was taking money from BZP for answering questions, he would have lost his job. Also, Greg answered a ton of questions on the Lego Message Boards after Bionicle ended, too. Why would he agree to do that if the only reason he answered questions on BZP was because the staff paid him?
