If it was real they ruined it with cleaning and polishing it had a bag but no card.

    Update:

I am sorry to inform you, that the piece has sold, testing at a pawn shop showed that it was sterling silver with an acid test. The piece had been buffed to almost perfect conditions and was cleaned before with an ultra sonic cleaner.

What’s the pawn shop name, wanna see bout potentially getting it tbh

I only have that one cell phone picture. The story is that the Krana is a displace piece for a Lego display. Its made from metal however its been cleaned.

I don’t think the white metal clean up to be quite that shiny, I wasn’t able to clean mine up that good personally. The VMKK also came in the Xa, and is a gray plastic coated in some sort of shiny metal, iirc. Also I’m fairly certain that lego uses their own pieces for displays, so it wouldn’t make sense to me for them to be fake, or “reproductions”. I don’t believe they used any of the VMKK, GPKK, WMKK, or SSKK in any displays, since they were chase items with a finite number made.

Would Lego make a Krana Kal display and put a replica of a metal Krana in it? I have seen other metal Krana called protype metal {Zamac} Krana for sale as well. atlbrick.com just sold a white metal Krana for $2000

Can you take some better pictures of this, and do you know for sure if it’s fake, where’d you get it? It looks like a VMKK to me from how shiny it is, but hard to tell since the picture is blurry. A picture of the back too would be helpful, as iirc on VMKK the tip of the anti stud isn’t chromed

I got my answer the Krana Xa & pearl gold Kraahkan are bootlegs.

“Those are bootlegs, the mask of shadows and commander krana come in various types of colors from the early 2000’s. You could get hard plastic krana and gold, gray, yellow, light brown colored masks of shadows off sites that sell bootleg from CN. This command krana is not metal, it’s made of krana rubber and has metal paint/Shrink-wrap on it. Look up 9299 Star Soldier Wars and you will find a bootleg mata nui giant. These masks sometimes have the Lego lego and part numbers.

Ah, oh well. Pretty interesting though!

The lot was going to be on ebay. However I would like to get it.I think the silver item on the lower right is a white metal krana.

If we’re looking at the same thing, it looks a little more chrome, so maybe it’s a VMKK! Hit me up if it turns out to be, I’ve been specifically looking for a Yo

Bricks & Min figs sells them for $3.50, they have like 10lbs.

I can by that lot for $325.5

    Karna sell for $2.50

2.50 is a steep price for krana imo. I wouldn’t pay more than a dollar per, personally, unless obviously it’s one of the rare variants.

I started in late Quarantine, after having played with Bionicles as a kid. I love the technical aspects of collecting.

Anyway, it's financially ruined me. At least I got a few slick prototypes.

Ooh, do tell! Which ones did you snag? And I feel that, I have spent way too much money, and now I’m trying to clean up after myself while stuff still catches my eye from time to time 😂

  8. In my prototype hunting over the years it helps to have reference material to go off of, like pictures from the Binkmeister bags for example. Along with that, the person who has them or are selling them is also important, their backstory, and the backstory of how they came across the piece. One person I bought from was a former employee, for example. Typically it’s been pretty easy for me to spot “fakes”, the general rule is if you’re suspicious of it being authentic, stay away from it. I’ve also had the privilege to consult some people who had the Binkmeister bags to begin with, for example somebody had a glow in the dark glatorian head, but there was too much that was weird with the story, piece, and price, so I passed. The prototypes of bionicle is a strong passion I’ve had for the theme, so I’ve spent a lot more time looking at these pieces and known existing ones, and having all that time and experience helps a lot. It would be very easy for somebody just starting out, I believe, to mistake a custom for a prototype, under the right circumstances.

  9. Y’all, did one of you buy the prototype trans orange shadow leech… for $800?? I have a hard time believing anybody would pay that much, and I am highly suspicious of Set You Up purchasing it himself. Worth noting the one he was selling he bought from bricklink for $70, and that price information is literally available right there in the “new condition” part, so literally who would buy this at this price? The shadow leeches are not sought after at all like masks or kraata, so it actually baffles me.

Edit: he also lies in his description of the item that “to his knowledge” it is one of a kind. He’s already been reached out to by several people including me telling him it’s not, (I literally sent him a picture of my collection), and he never changed the description. So in case one of y’all did buy it I hope you know it’s not one of a kind like he’s trying to play it off as.

  10. You told me the kraata were sold when I messaged you…?

That being said the lot is mostly set kraata which aren’t worth much. Being generous I think this is 200, 300 dollars tops. 1650 just doesn’t accurately represent what you’re actually selling, hope this helps 👍

  11. Last leeches came in (with a blue metal battle droid!). So now it’s a complete collection, with row 3 filled out (official release leeches). Obviously hit me up if you have any, I’m looking for extras to moc with and to potentially give away at Brickfair.

  12. Full collection of prototype shadow leeches! Top row, from left to right, a 3D print early design, an orange test print (to test the part mold) and the rest on this row are sparkly leeches (I believe there’s a chance they were meant to be the crystalline leeches Mutran was experimenting with). There are 4 early designs, 3 test molds, and 53 crystallines. Row two are Binkmeisters, however there were notably no public images online of the dark-bluish gray/red leeches (pictured third and second to last). There’s no solid numbers on the Binkmeisters, but yellow is definitely the most common, and there are at least 4 of each Binkmeister leech, bare minimum. Row three is waiting on the official colors and a misprint to come in which will be shown over on my thread. Last rows show every tridax pod (bar a prototype trans yellow one which I believe is one of a kind, accompanying a prototype Vamprah figure). From left to right we have a 3D  print early design, a darker orange prototype pod, a normal pod, and von nebula’s.

  13. Just got my package in, and voila! Every prototype shadow leech. Just waiting on a package to arrive containing the four official leech colors (two blue and two green, one bright and one dull) and a darker and duller blue one, which I believe to be a misprint. Once I get those in it’s a wrap! (Unless you have the prototype Vamprah model, which includes a trans yellow tridax pod… hit me up if you’ve got that set!!)

  14. Hey all! I’ve recently wrapped up my Bionicle collecting, and am now looking for Lego Universe items! I’m specifically looking for some of the rarer stuff, in particular the faction tiles (pictured below) or one of the original 7 pods. I’m of course very interested in any prototype Lego Universe items if there are any out there, and if you have something you think I might be interested in that wasn’t listed here hit me up!

That's a pretty good line up - a lot of the hard hitters throughout BIONICLE (particularly Vezon and Fenrakk, I have a lot of good memories of that set.) Is the JTO Makuta that larger combiner set with the late 2016 sets? That one always looked so cool - unfortunately I missed a TON of the 2016 line because I'd started collecting amiibo at the time. Only ever got the Kopaka/Melum Unity set and Umarak (though Umarak ROCKS so this isn't too bad). I also have the BIONICLE GWP! Haven't opened it yet though, saving it for a rainy day where I'll appreciate it more I think.

In other collecting news - my final few parts for the Kanohi Dragon arrived today! I'm excited to put it together. I have some clear figure stands that I'd experiment with holding it aloft with. I don't think it'll work too well, but it would be fun if it did.

I'm also vaguely starting a few other fan-canon models sometime soon - thinking about starting Artahka and Miserix. Artakha seems the harder of the two given the rare/expensive parts, but I like the idea of having him assembled. I'd also really like to get into 3D printing and finishing some masks that never got made in G1 - like Helryx, Artahka, and the unmutated Olisi. We'll see if I manage to do some of that!

I also have Gadunka! Can't believe I forgot about angry bionicle. JTO Makuta is the official g2 combo model shown off at a toy fair that ended up getting cancelled due to g2 getting the axe. I believe it would've also been released as it's own set. Really sucks it didn't because it's genuinely an excellent model! I really like g2, but only had Pohatu and the black and trans purple protector when it hit stores. I ESPECIALLY love how g2 handled exclusive collectibles, I have the trans clear NYCC hau and the trans neon green SDCC skull scorpio mask. The trans blue Inside Tour kaukau is a huge want for me but I'd consider in unobtainable, as I'm not spending what people are asking for for it. With g2 on the mind, reminds me that I've also really wanted a g2 art book! Those are unfortunately very rare and very expensive as well.

Amiibo are pretty cool, I recently got the Steve and Alex ones, and the two sets of Splatoon "idol" amiibo. I've wanted a Guardian amiibo but they're too expensive for what they are lmao. On the Bionicle gwp, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I love it and it was such a treat to open and build!

The Kanohi Dragon is a pretty cool model! I've never really been into building models that weren't actual sets, JTO Makuta was an exception but it WAS supposed to be an official set lol. I guess it's just not my thing, neither are the fanon contests, but it's really cool to see people still finding new ways to enjoy the hobby and keep it alive beyond just buying old sets.

I think getting just the ones you like is a really good idea. In all honesty, there's a ton of BIONICLE sets that just aren't that amazing to me anymore. At this point, it's more so memories and getting a complete collection together. I'd be curious to hear which ones you went for. I feel similarly on displays - I have a few technic displays for Kanohi, but they are NOT good at holding themselves up. I need to improvise some solutions. I had a few ideas for Krana and Kraata, but they're a little parts intensive so I might wait on them.

The Prototype Shadow Leech collection is SO interesting - I saw some of your pics in the topic you made. Stellar to hear about getting the last ones! That's such a wonderfully unique part of your collection.

If I can remember them all, just the Bionicle sets, I have the full McDonald’s tohunga line, Chirox & Kirop, Click & Klakk, Vezon and Fenrakk, Manas crabs, Ekimu, Umarak the Hunter, and I put together JTO Makuta a few months back. I also recently got the Bionicle GWP and I love it!

Something I haven’t tried for the technic displays is having nails/thumb tacks or whatever you use supporting it on multiple levels instead of just the top. I’m pretty sure that will work, I just haven’t been able to find more of the type of “nail” I used for mine! Makes the fancy glass cases look even better haha.

I appreciate it! I’m super excited and I can’t wait to be able to share pictures of all of them together :)

Well, even if it isn't regarded well I am looking to finish the 2010 Bionicle Stars wave and building up the Bionicle rogues gallery.

Stars certainly isn’t a great line but I’ve always liked it, it was a nice little last wave celebrating Bionicle

  18. Sounds like a sick collection! I haven’t collected the play sets really, I’ve just bought a few that I really like. I was collecting krana and I’m 100 or so in, but the display doesn’t hold together anymore so I had to take it down from my wall. My main goal and “white whale” collection I’ve been working on for the past few years was getting all the prototype shadow leech colors, and just made a trade for the last ones I needed. So, for awhile at least, I’m done collecting! I don’t think I have a lot of incentive to finish the krana while they aren’t on my wall haha.

I might do it for you

It would make more sense to find the original images and ask permission from the photographer before posting said images on an informational site on their behalf. There’s still several colors I’m missing and wouldn’t make sense to upload a picture to bs01 that doesn’t show them all (in my opinion)
