    Turn and face the strAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I GOT A JOB IN WASHINGTON AS A PASTRY CHEF AND I ACCEPTED IT AND NOW I HAVE TO APARTMENT HUNT AND FIND A PLACE TO LIVE WITHIN A MONTH AND THIS IS REAL ACTUAL ADULT STUFF THAT MY EDUCATION AND LIFE EXPERIENCES DID NOT PREPARE ME FOR.

    WHAT IS? HOW DO?

But, like, everyone at work keeps telling me finding a place is the easy part and that I'll be fine and that is reassuring.

    @w@

    This is gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.

Currently at the airport on my way home from Arizona. It was a fun trip with the family.

I'm having a Starbuck's Chai Latte because I love Chai. Though it's kind of disappointing because I've had a couple of really good Chai lattes this week at coffee houses. I also stopped at a tea shop yesterday and picked up some Green Tea Chai leaves. I'm excited to see how it'll taste (the leaves smelled pretty good).

So yeah, I'm a sucker for Chai. In case you were ever wondering.

So, I decided that this October I'll be getting Pokemon X because I love Pokemon Games and this one is looking pretty fantastic so far.

I've decided I'll want to raise a Sylveon (because Eevee is my favorite pokemon ever and I love all of the eeveelutions), a Talonflame (for sky battles and the fact that it's a normal flying type with a second type attached. I think that's pretty sweet), a Gogoat (because Gogoat's concept is awesome), a Clauncher (it looks awesome) and most likely a Flabebe (Flower Sprite Pokemon? YES!).

Anyway, I'll also probably name them after Fairy Tale characters due to my obsession with Grimm and Andersen works. Talonflame is so going to be a name from The Juniper Tree.

Anyway, due to my pokemon decisions above, I already have each starter type covered. Not only that, but I actually do like all of the initial designs for each starter pokemon. Yes, even Froakie. I didn't like it at first, but the little guy's grown on me. Chespin is awesome, Fennekin is a Fennec fox pokemon (awesome) and water starters are some of my favorites in battle (though I do love the grass type for their designs and concepts).

So, yeah. I'm torn. I have no idea which one to choose...

I just got a few more gifts today.

A couple of Eevee shirts which are absolutely fabulous. <3 One depicts a white eevee running through a prism and coming out in a rainbow spectrum of its evolutions and the other has all of the eeveelutions in a pocket all bundled up together. Totally adorable. ^^

I also got a Pinkie Pie toy (I braided and brushed her mane and it was far more fun than I had anticipated), a DS carrying case, a LEGO minifig storage unit, a ceramic container depicting Snoopy asleep on his doghouse (from my aunt and it's quite lovely), a Stitch pin from Disney World from my mom and some spending money from my dad.

Altogether I couldn't be happier. Not just for the gifts, but for the people I got to spend the holiday with (which was nice to come home to after two rough days at work on the holiday).

Here's a pic of three of my gifts, anyway. Xmas 2013

So, I recently started a 30-day trial for Amazon Prime, and Clannad is able to be streamed on Amazon Instant Video for Prime members.

I've heard really good things about this anime and its sequel, so I'm pretty excited (I haven't found it anywhere else before).

I'm only three episodes in right now. I gotta say, the two main characters are pretty adorable so far. Her parents are equally adorable. EVERYTHING IS ADORABLE, AAAAAAAAA!

Anyway, it also looks like it will be dealing with some more mature themes, so I have a feeling I'm in for a feelsy show (but I already heard as much anyway).

Anyway, after watching the ending credits (along with references in a few other anime shows), I seriously need to research dango and see if I can find ingredients to try making it some time.

I mostly just have no idea what it is (I assume it's like a colored sweet bread type thing? Cake?)

(PS: I've kinda been considering taking a break from my blog theme for a bit and making it slightly more normal. It's probably not that big a deal, but I'm also kinda curious as to what my many devout fans couple of internet friends and random people off the street think)

    FUKO, NOOOOOOO!

    KOTOMI, NOOOOOO!

SUNOHARA- well, I don't care as much about him at the moment... Looks like we'll be seeing more of Tomoyo, though.

Also, oh my gosh, Tomoya is a wonderful prankster. How he can say such obvious lies with a straight face is wonderfully admirable...

Anyway, I got up through the Kotomi arc and I'm a few episodes after that. This. Anime. Will. Destroy. My. Soul.

The Dango song is amazing, though. Seriously, it's wonderful. I look forward to its simple joy at the end of each episode after my soul cries for hours on end (even though they're, like, 22-minute episodes).

Tomoyo's story almost made me cry. This is bad, guys, the anime is appealing to my sense of humanity... I hate that thing... =/

Nagisa's story finally comes to light! I'm so glad it ended the way it did.

So, I guess the twins don't get too much backstory? I get that they both (maybe) had a crush on him and all, but... was that it for them? Maybe not because I haven't finished the story yet.

So! I only have two episodes left until I'm done with the first season. I gotta say, Akio and Sanae are the most adorable characters ever.

... Yup. After Story is going to be the bane of my existence soon enough (and I probably won't have the Dango song at the end of the episodes! Now where will I get my fill of joy? NOOOOOO!)

Starting with the end of Clannad: The Tomoyo episode was pretty sweet. I actually like her and Sanohara together, but let's face it, that guy should not be dating anyone ever.

    AFTER STORY TIMES!

I'm up to episode eight. So, to recap...

    MAI, NOOOOO!

    MISAE, NOOOOO!

    YUKI, NOOOOO!

    TT^TT

This is bad, guys... Misae's story was bitter-sweet. I'm surprised too, because I didn't think they would actually do anything with her as a character. Also, I'm kinda glad they actually made her look different from her adolescence and adulthood. It's slight, but she does look more adult than Akio and Sanae. Seriously, put either of those two in a highschool suit and they look the same age as their highschool daughter (They either have really good genes or they had Nagisa when they were really young, geez).

Also, I'm loving the music in this anime. The sad-track always makes me think "Oh, geez, things are getting tragic, aren't they?" I'm not even at the seriously bad stuff yet, and it's getting to me...

Tomoya is still wonderful at pranks, though. When Sunohara asked Akio that question I was convinced that Tomoya is an evil genius (that or a very lucky opportunist).

I'm a bit bummed out that we haven't seen as much of Kyo, Ryo or Kotomi so far. That's also a beef I had with the Tomoyo episode in the first season: they all kinda dropped off the face of the world for that episode. It's not as bad in After Story, but I still think it's apparent.

My biggest problem with After Story, though? The opening and ending songs... I mean, they're just not as good as the first ones. The ending song really gets me, though. It's... it's just not fitting with the stories. I mean, I'll have just watched something really somber and then the song that plays is really upbeat and goofy... It doesn't flow right in my opinion. I miss the dango. That song was fantastic. (I actually sat through the opening and ending themes in the first season almost always, but now I'm skipping over After Story's)

Okay, so... before I totally cry my heart out, I want to start off with legit thoughts on how this season has made me feel thus far. (NOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

The fact that (WHYWHYWHYWHYWHY) the series actually follows the characters (THIS IS PURE SADNESS) after highschool, and showing the protagonist (DESPAIR WINS, MONOBEAR WAS RIGHT) grow and get a job is really cool. I wish more stories in general could show this side of life (TAKE THAT BACK, IT'S NOT WORTH IT) because it's actually really interesting (AND FILLED WITH SORROW).

    Yeah, I can't do it.

This is bad. This is very not-good. I'm through episode eighteen now, and while the ending of this episode was sweet, it was still extremely feelsy. I nearly cried three times over the span of a couple of episodes. This is a new record for any story I've ever followed. The mist could not leave my eyes, and everything was spoiled for me up to this point, it was that bad.

The worst part? I'm not even at the saddest part of this anime yet AND THE ENDING THEME STILL DOES NOT FLOW WITH THE STORY AT ALL (thought I mentioned that?)

I... I dunno if I'm gonna make it, guys... Save yourselves.

(Obligatory yelling at kids or whatever...

Okay, so, sorry about my sob-fest last entry. I needed to get that out of my system because OH MY GOSH SO MUCH FEELS!

But I am now through all 25 episodes of After Story. Done. I managed not to cry despite coming really close.

Overall thoughts? This was quite possibly the best love story I have experienced thus far. I have a few reservations about that opinion mostly because of the surrealism in the end (or rather throughout, technically?) However, everything up to that point was amazing. Great characters, relatable situations and endless rivers of tears. Yeah, this was an experience, and wow was it worth it.

Totally recommend this anime to anyone who appreciates a good story.

But what I liked about After Story was that it took place outside of highschool for the characters. I don't actually think I've seen that before in anime, and this show actually captures a side of life that adult stories fail to do. Really, this is the first show I've ever seen that has the protagonist grow up, find a job, and deal with difficult choices and growing up quickly that actually felt genuine and logical. If I were in Tomoya's shoes, I probably would have made similar, if not, the same decisions he did. Every decision felt like it was carefully thought over for the characters to make. Akio and Sanae especially seemed seasoned in making tough choices (which fits perfectly with their characters). The scene where Sanae and Akio talk after Tomoya decides to take in Ushio? Priceless.

It's just... everything about this show's main story felt like it was well-made. It's good, plain and simple; the kind of story I love.

That being said, I do think certain episodes, such as Kyo's story, was a bit forced, maybe? Like, I could see how Tomoya could end up with Tomoyo because she used to be a delinquent similar to him, but she also worked with him to help him grow as a person. Nagisa did that too by taking his feelings seriously and pushing him to talk with his dad or talk about his plans for the future (It's why they're my OTP in this show, because they work together. Heck, he does the same for her with her self-confidence). With Kyo's story, I really didn't sense any of that going on. It didn't feel like a relationship so much as a cliche'd love triangle (rectangle if you include Sunohara. =P).

Now then, as for the very last episode of After Story: I liked it.

I mean, I keep hearing it's frustrating or bad or what have you, but... Well, I don't get that opinion. It was a summary episode, and I always look at those as a nice look-back to the story as a whole. They chose a nice theme to work around too, and the ending of that left me with "D'aww... You know you scarred me for life with the rest of this story, right? =D"

I mean, if you're actually talking about the ending of the main story, then I guess I can see where you're coming from, maybe? It was a weird way to get to the ending, and despite the happy I was still going through rehab due to the enormous amount of grief the show had just put me through so I wasn't getting into the happy... But it could have ended worse.

    Obligatory: FUKO, YEEEEEES!

Anyway, the few nit-picks aside, this story was completely worth it. I'll probably watch it again someday (and cry forever).

Idk why I chose that blog title. I've been drinking lots of good coffee on vacation this week. Lots of pics of the desert and such. I should probably add them to my social media accounts.

So I will be making my own birthday cake this year as per my own wishes. I wanted to do something LEGO themed again. The last LEGO themed cake I made was this one here.

So, like that but with less frog face is what I am hoping for. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in me trying any lego theme specifically as there is soooooo much to LEGO and I still have yet to make up my mind. Just keep in mind that kissing avatars and banners are allowed on this site, but I will be showing this to my folks. That means no shipping. >=/

Whassat, Billy? You don't like cake?

... Run, Billy. Run as far away from my lawn as fast as humanly possible...

So, came out to my parents (kinda sorta. Like, I didn't say it straight out, but they kiiinda put the pieces together that I'm queer at the very least). My dad isn't too thrilled, but he understands the science behind it, and he was actually kinda supportive with my mom. Weird.

    I really don't think I'm in a good place to start dating just yet anyway, so I don't mind it, really. ^^;

At any rate, I think volunteer work will do me some good to keep active, but I'm going to keep working on getting a job first. A fresh start sounds refreshing, because having your life flash before your eyes and then be living at home is... Well, it can be a little overwhelming, to say the least.

    Speaking of volunteer work, I'm donating my hair this month. It is fabulous; a natural curl and a nice dark brown color. I'm going to include a hand-written note if they'll allow it. ^^;

Things at my current job are still weird. I'm even more spacey than usual, and things are getting humid and warm (not great for my lungs with all of the pollen). I've been communicating and tossing ideas around, and it seems like people are acting a little less stressed out around me at least. There are a couple of LGBT+ people at work too, so hopefully they take my advice about the job. Everyone in the kitchen staff during my time there has been more on the artistic and open-minded side of things in general, and we've always been pretty close-knit and had each other's backs. Our issues were almost always completely ignored, though. Not exactly the best situation for someone with anxiety.

The food industry is such a weird one. XD

I have good contacts, though, and, like, every religious person I've spoken to has been surprisingly accepting and willing to listen. Apparently I can be good at this. XD I mean... the situation still isn't great, mind you, but... I mean, if I ever showed up with a guy someday I think the awkward zone would be managable. (Oh geez, I can picture it now... The looks we'd get just holding hands down the street... XD)

My pets have been a huge support too. ^^

    I think I have a nice nickname for my future kid; Link. Robin Williams was a huge part of my childhood, and he was a fan of the game series Legend of Zelda. Actually, Ocarina of Time was one of the first video games I really got into, and it helped me bond with my best friend from childhood (like, it was all we would talk about. XD). It's kinda the reason why green became my favorite color (It used to be red). Granted while adopting, it would only be an affectionate term. I think it would be a good reminder while my head is jumping from subject to subject as an adult. ^^;

So... maybe in around... five to ten years? Who knows?

So, I did one of these too... I could see myself playing a character like this. You Are A:
Neutral Good Human Druid/Wizard (2nd/1st Level)

    Ability Scores:
    Strength- 12
    Dexterity- 11
    Constitution- 13
    Intelligence- 12
    Wisdom- 13
    Charisma- 12
    Alignment:
Neutral Good- A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

    Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

    Primary Class:
Druids- Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

    Secondary Class:
Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells

I have not been on board the Superhero craze at all lately. I even thought Guardians of the Galaxy was just okay. But I love a good antihero. And Daredevil is definitely a good antihero.

Action, drama, shipping, ships that actually develop at a natural pace with the story, backstories, interesting characters, vigilante justice.

The only thing this series doesn't have are cyan explosions shaped like cats. I'm hopeful on that front, though.

We are happy to inform you that you are no longer welcome on BZPower dot com. Your jokes and general sense of humor are not funny, and to be quite honest, your level of self-esteem is so low that it is making everyone around you feel totally sad all the time. You can't even learn to only hit the "add comment" button only one time; instead you double post on the blogs frequently and it is super annoying. Also you breathe too heavily and you smell bad.
