Yes I know it's BioGio now, but I liked BioGaia better so I still call you that in my head.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks. Over the past year or so you've pretty much commented in every one of my MOC topics, and even quite a few of my art topics, and you -always- leave long, thoughtful reviews that actually help me out a lot.

So I just felt like I should thank you for your help and consistency, and for leaving better reviews than even most of my friends.

Yes, I know that was a horrible way to abuse the holiday season. Oh well.

Anyone feel like they could drop me a review here? IMO it's one of my best MOCs, and the BBC has been horridly slow since the forums returned... so yeah.

I don't usually promote my stuff through such... manipulative means, but I really like this one lol

I drove down to walmart and then downtown today for fun and so my mom could pick up some food, and I bought some stuff:

    Breez 2.0
Smashing Pumpkin's Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness
A copy of Th1rt3en for my friend's birthday
    Writeable CDs

so yeah Breez is cool. Finally got some lime HF.

Smashing Pumpkins album ranges from complete ###### to decently good. It was only $3 anyway, so IMO it was worth it. Could have been worse lol. Also I figured I'd buy that Rainbowdash and maybe Applejack just for fun but then they were gone. It's only been two days since they were there D:

    Someone loves ponies.

Well I finished up my Christmas shopping today, and bought myself Rush's "Test For Echo". On track 5 right now, and it's good. Not in the same league as most of their other albums, but still very enjoyable.

On a completely unrelated note, I was so close to buying a Rainbow Dash today. Like I picked it up and walked halfway to the cash registers, but then I looked at it again... and it just doesn't look like Rainbow. I couldn't make myself buy it.

So yeah, do distract slightly from the raging war that has overrun recent blog entries, I shall inform you all of the awesome day that was had by myself.

I got to sleep in which is always a plus, then I went to school to continue my BLENDER TAHU (which has now been roughly six hours in the making), then I ate lunch with friends and came back home. I chilled with one of said friends for a few hours, playing xbox, PS2, watching movie trailers, etc. I then had a fantastic birthday dinner (grilled cheese with bacon and caesar salad), followed by gifts:

    $25
Paul Of Dune by Brian herbert and Kevin J. Anderson
    Rocka 3.0
    Time Machine - Rush
Holding On To Ties Better Left To Fray - Seether
2 tickets to Megadeth/Volbeat/Motörhead/Lacuna Coil in February (\m/)

So yeah, pretty amazing. I'll have to read the beginnings of the Dune series now, but I've heard it's amazing, so yeah. Rocka's helmet truly is as horrible as I'd thought it would be, but GOLD so who cares. The Rush album is superb (it's a live one), and the Seether one I'v not yet heard. Not rally a fan of Seether, but let's see how that goes. also

    TICKETS TO FREAKING MEGADETH

    AND VOLBEAT

AND THOSE TWO OTHER BANDS I NEED TO LISTEN TO MORE OF

    YES

seriously I am super stoked. Get to bring a friend, too

Anyway that was followed with waaaaay too much cake, and now I'm just chillin'.

Peace out all you awesome people.

    Thanks guys!

EDIT: turns out you guys aren't that awesome, my settings stats are just glitchin'. I really have 14,002 views

Also, completely unrelated, here's an update on my Tahu project:

So this here is my old self MOC (not really that old).

After my influx of new old sets from my friend (as mentioned previously), I had an urge to rebuild a lot of stuff. I needed some parts off this guy for the Tarakava, but I loved him too much to destroy. So I modified him a bit. I don't know if it's better or worse, but I like it, so yeah.

    with more black mostly

So any thoughts? Like the modifications? No likey? Also, I've got a brand new MOC that you should all check out. (DO IT NOW)

Yeah, this is my newest and last project in blender for animation/modeling class. This will most likely take me until the end of term, which is mid-January. Not 100% accurate, but I think it's decent enough. Anyway, I think you may recognize it:

It's Tahu; or will be Tahu. I've got my second set at school as reference.

Still totally obsessing over Iron Maiden. I mean really it's crazy how good they are.

After receiving that large lot of BIONICLE stuff, my lego geek has been sort of kick-started again, and I'm now attempting to rebuild a bunch of stuff. I've got all the Toa Nuva rebuilt, all the Rahkshi, all my Rahi (Everything except the Manas), and about half of my 2004 stuff. I already had the Mata and Tohunga built, aswell as the Turaga and various sets from other years. Still, feels good to be working with all this old stuff again.

I got "Persistence Of Time" by Anthrax. Not an enormous fan of the album, but it's got some good songs and it was there... so yeah

Perhaps the most important is MY 17TH BIRTHDAY IN SEVEN DAYS WOOHOO DRIVER'S LICENSE HERE I COME. Also 7th BZP anniversary on the 16th. That's a lot of sevens...

Also new pony episode was fantastic. I like Fancy Pants waaay more than the other "uppity" ponies.

    Guess that's it. Carry on.

My night has consisted of the following:

    -Iron Maiden
    -Ponies
    -Pizza
    -Sprite
    -Wrapping presents

I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

I have Iron Maiden's entire discography, but I've only really listened to four albums so far (Number Of The Beast, Powerslave, Seventh Son, and The Final Frontier). So today I figured I'd give another one a shot, and picked Piece Of Mind, their fourth album.

I think it is now one of my favourite albums ever.

I saw this on a Roadrunner Records article, that they were doing a thing with bands about the 5 albums that had the biggest impact on their existence. I think it's cool, so I'm gonna' do it too.

#1: Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV - Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness - Coheed & Cambria

This album is first on my list because without it, I would not be the metalhead I am today. I went from liking Avril Lavigne and The All-American Rejects (both of whom I do still like) to this, all thanks to "Welcome Home" being on Rock Band. This is what kickstarted my transformation, bought as a gift for my 13th birthday.

#2: Astro Lounge - Smash Mouth

Astro Lounge was the first rock CD I ever bought, when I was around 7 or 8 I believe. It had many different styles of songs on it, and I still enjoy most of the tracks nowadays. I went from old 50s vinyls to this.

#3: Master Of Puppets - Metallica

When I first heard Metallica, I was unimpressed. I liked "Enter Sandman" and a song or two off of Death Magnetic, but otherwise eh. Then I was told to get MOP, and after a few listens I loved it. The title track was also the first song I learned in my early days of learning guitar. This was my introduction to Thrash Metal, before I even knew what that was.

    #4: Octavarium - Dream Theater

What's this? Dream Theater being so low on the list? Well, that's because I've only been a fan for about two years, and Coheed and Metallica came way before. However, that doesn't change how much good this album did me. I first heard "Panic Attack" when my best friend phoned me and told me to look it up. Then I got the whole album and listened to it in full on the perfect day at a sunny beach with food and stuff. I have nothing but fond memories while listening to this. And the moment I heard the title track, I knew I'd found an all-time favourite song.

    #5: Move Along - The All-American Rejects

This was probably the least influential of the five, but it was still definitely an important stage in my musical developement. Kickstarted by the thing they did with BIONICLE in '06, I got kinda' hooked on them for about two years, and still enjoy listening to them quite a bit. This was another rung on the ladder to the music I love now.

So there you have it, the top five albums that have shaped me as a person over the years. I put alot of thought into this, and was going to add in Megadeth's Risk, but all it really did for me was let me discover Megadeth. While I love them, that's not quite life-changing.

My day started with a phone call. I was asleep at about 10:30am, when a friend of mine calls, and tells me he was cleaning out his house and found a box of his old bionicle sets, and wanted to know if I wanted them.

Of course I said yes, and asked if he wanted any money for them, but he said no (he has a decent job as a meat cutter and never spends his money so doesn't really care). When I got the box, I noticed it had sets from 2001 up to 2005. So I spent all day rebuilding them, and I even got some bonus technic sets. Here's the list of what was inside the magical box:

    -Tahu
    -Lewa
    -Kopaka
    -Onua (missing a leg)
    -Pohatu
    -Lehvak
    -Gahlok
    -Pahrak
    -Onepu
    -Gali Nuva
-Tahu Nuva (Missing leg and armour)
    -Turahk
    -Guurahk
    -Panrahk
    -Vorahk
    -Lerahk (missing leg)
-Takanuva & Ussanui (with sparkle Avohkii)
    -Nui-Rama (Missing 6 or 7 pieces)
    -Bordahk
    -Nuju Metru
    -Matau Metru
    -Vakama Metru
    -Krekka
    -Turaga Dume & Nivawk
    -Lhikan & Kikanalo
    -Vakama Hordika (x2)
    -Rahaga Norik

    Other bonus lego stuff:

-Miniature Imperial Shuttle (missing a wing)
-Exo-Force Mobile Defence Tank (no minifigs)
-Giant Technic Mars Rover (missing the rear blue panel)
-Giant Technic Gold-Plated Jeep thing (missing too many pieces to put back together)
-Mindstorms Gigamesh G60 (No remote unfortunately... I guess it'll just have to sit there and look pretty)

Also got a few Rhotuka colours I didn't previously have.

So, I already had most of these sets, but they were all in pieces and now I don't have to sift through my huuuuge bin to reconstruct them. The Ussanui is wonderful, as I've wanted one since forever. I already had Takanuva, but long ago I had spray-painted his gold a brighter gold to be more shiny (which I still think it looks better) but I've wanted a second one to be a legit set one. Funny thing is I just had a trade with Iro that involved a sparkly Avohkii, so now I have two.

Anyway, suffice to say I am super stoked.

So my good friend Iro (Sir Soundwave) and I had a trade going on: I buy him Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory, and he gives me six masks - Blue Miru, silver Miru, Akaku, and Pakari, white Kakama, and a sparkly Avohkii.

So yeah, he enjoys his CD, and my end came in today. Turns out he decided to throw in some extra cool stuff for no particular reason: a pair of blue/keetorange dragon wings, a 3rd-gen Vladek sword, and surprisingly, a light grey Ruru, which we had had a trade for about three years ago, and I had never received it.

So just saying, thanks a lot man. I'm really grateful for the extra pieces, and I'm working on a MOC right now that will utilize a few.

    -------------------------------------

That said, I've just made a new MOC (taking about 6 hours to make it really good) because I've been feeling my newer ones haven't been up to my usual standards. I'll see if I can get it posted.

Also, my Rarity now looks more like Fluttershy hair-wise. I'm going to attempt it again, but if it doesn't work right this time, I'll just leave her as Flutterarity. Also also STUPID COMBS THEY COME WITH ARE STUPID HOLY JEEZ.

  15. Xinlo
After 4 days of trying to style Rarity's hair, it still is not satisfactory. I tried tutorials, but she ended up looking like Fluttershy (as I previously blogged), then I tried brushing it and stuff, but that made it worse, so then I tried molding it around pencils... which worked, but the curls are all facing the wrong direction and I don't know how to fix them.

I am very fed up with the synthetic hair, especially since the slightly lighter purple is a much firmer plastic so it splits itself from the rest of her hair.

So, does ANYONE know any way I can get this to work half decently?
