    Bad boys, whacha gonna do?

    6598 Metro P-D Station

Description: Released in 1996 as part of the Town/Police series. Retail price then was about 60 dollars. Today it has doubled in value and can be found MISB for about 130 bucks. Containing 516 parts and 8 minifigs, this set was one of more detailed police sets.

My take: Never got this set, I recall seeing it in K-B toys though. Looks like it has alot going on with it, there are several vehicles, a boat, a chopper and a breakaway cell. There is even a shark to deter the criminal from escape! Looks like there are security cameras and loudspeakers too.

This week I bring you a blast from the not so far past...

    7190 Millennium Falcon

Description: Released in 2000 and retailing for about $80-100 US dollars, this is the original design of the Star Wars series Falcon. Today it can be found MISB for between 275-600 dollars, depending on box condition, truly a gem of the original SW series. Containing 641 parts and 6 minifigs, the set features what have become some of the most desired minifigs out there. I have seen that Princess Leia sell for as much as 60 bucks! The set also featured some unique parts, such as the game board and gunner turret seen in the movies. One of the most desired Star Wars sets out there!

My Take: Finally! I can actually say I have this set! I cannot really elaborate on the playability of it, as I have it in MISB condition and I dare not open it or even touch it. The box is pretty much pristine and I take special care of it. It looks like it could be fun though, there are several interior elements that can be used to re-create your favorite scenes from the movie. Until next week!

I still refuse to pay 12 bucks for a Mistika set. In fact the only new sets I have actually purchased are Rockoh and Mazeka, which I sold. Do not get me wrong, I want a Gorast/Bitil/Krika just as bad as the next bloke, but I cannot bring myself to shell out the dough.

    So, am I a cheapskate?

First of all, I need to thank Kohaku for being able to have a blog in the first place. For those who are unaware, he was voted 2nd place in the Lego General Discussion #5 contest. Being a lifetime member he decided to draw a few names from a hat and give his prize, which was a one year premier membership, to the name that came out. I was lucky enough to be that name and again I thank you for your generous gift.

Once I have figured out all the inner workings I plan to have a plethora of images and other things to spice the blog up. Expect to see most of my entries dedicated to my MoCing works and video gaming discussion. Ill fit in the rest of my life(the boring stuff) somewhere in between.

Just a reminder, when the final voting of BBC 52 ends, TSC begins. The theme will be very challenging, rest assured of that. Prizes may include either a blue Matatu or trans light blue Kaukau. There will be a long entry period, probably more than 30 days, just to ensure that I will get a minimum of 20 entries.

What will the theme be? No answers just yet, it will be revealed when the official contest entry is made.

Hey people, now that I am back online I should be blogging regularly. Let me tell you all of my shocking discovery.

So we all know I was dumped by my babies mother a few weeks back, I was and still am devastated. But I found some closure yesterday, in a letter she wrote to a complete stranger who she has apparently fallen in love with. She has not even met this guy and lied to me and the family about him! I begged her for honesty and she completely ruined my life, she even accepted that she was an evil person who broke my heart. She is two-faced and I do not even trust my child with her now, so sad that 10 years of bonding ended in this. So I offer a bit of advice to you young people, do not become overwhelmed in love and blinded, I had my gut feeling and nightmares but I just held on for the sake of my child. I came from a broken family and never wanted this for her. However when I discovered the truth on my own, I knew I had to leave. I will never know how anyone, let alone the mother of my child can be so cruel and heartless, but now I know I am a far better person than she can ever hope to be.

So take it from me, there is no worse pain than a broken heart, stay guarded and reserved until you feel in your heart and mind that you are ready to commit.

So now that we have a new leader of the free world, does anyone have some expectations of the new president? Here are a few of mine:

~Begin to lower the national debt and strengthen the US dollar and economy
~Deal with Iran, North Korea and Pakistan, without slandering the rep of the USA
~Bring back the shrinking middle class
~Begin legislation on a Luxury Tax

Thats not asking too much in 4 years, right?

Picked up Sonic and the Secret Rings on Monday for the Wii. It is unlike any other game I have played before. It plays similar to Sonic Battle/Heroes but the controls are really something. At times I feel like I am steering a speeding comet with the wiimote. Attacking enemies can become quite the work out, as you have to first jump and then jab forward with the wiimote. Very fast paced action and interactive controls kept my hands sweating the whole time I played it. Making timed jumps across large gaps at breakneck speeds had me on the edge of my seat.

At first I thought the story was a bit corny and predictable, but then it had a big plot twist early on that was surprising. Sonic happens to come across a magic lamp and rubs it by accident, releasing the genie Shara, who needs his help to restore the stories of the Arabian nights from an evil genie. The graphics are pretty good, and get real fancy when Sonic is blazing at full speed. Sound is your typical Sonic Battle lyrical tracks, catchy and quirky tunes are sticking in my head now! The voice acting is decent, but still the storyline itself makes it a bit corny. There are a ton of party/mini games in multiplayer mode, they are one of the best parts of the game, addicting and purely fun. The adventure mode is mostly missions on different areas of the Arabian world

I would recommend it for the die hard Sonic fans, or people looking for something new and challenging. Not for anybody else though as it may prove too much for your average gamer. Ill leave you with a couple of screen shots so you have a better idea of the game.

    Vote here!

Well I have made it to the semis, however I doubt I will make the finals. There are some great entries in that poll, Lyger really outdid himself with that Seahorse! Anyway if you deem my entry worthy(vote for number 1!), I could use your votes. Good luck to all in the semifinals!

Oh, yea, I made a new thingy too, see over there --------->

As the days grow longer, the dawn beings earlier, I am reminded that the long cruel winter is almost over. This spring will be different, it is a whole new world for me now, I am alone, I have no confidant anymore. It has been a difficult time, but I think I am finally seeing my way through it.

I cannot go on as I have been, there is no point. I know I am doing the best I can, for her, for my child, and for myself. I take comfort in that, and I know that I will one day be happy again. I miss them both, its crazy, they are so close, yet so far away from me. The little time I have with my kid I cherish, we have so much fun together and it is always a heart wrenching time when she has to leave and go back to her home. I took alot of things for granted, I know its tried and true but I really did. Mostly the time I had, lost. Things left unsaid, undone and unwanted. I look forward to the future, the warmer days, the blooming flowers, it reminds me that time moves on. I see many things in a new light since I moved away, when I go to work, or at night, I take more time to take a deep breath, admire the sights, sounds and smells of the outside world.

Life is what you make it, but at times you make it impossible. Sometimes we have to remember that we are not the only ones that matter, and consider what consequences our actions will have, not only on the near, but also distant future. Spring, a time when the winds of change blow, when life begins anew, I am ready.

My throat, it burns. It is really odd, I felt fine yesterday until about 9pm, when I starting to feel a tight and sore feeling in my throat. Went to bed and woke up much worse. Even a little cough gets my eyes watering and burns my throat severely. Does anybody have a good remedy for a sore throat? Perhaps some kind of medication I should take? I am like an angry bear when I am sick and I do not like angry bears, nor does anyone else!

Vacation proved to be very productive. Here are some of the highlights of my trip!

First off, we found an amazing shop that was having a going out of buisness sale, they had a raffle for some toys and lego prizes and I spent about 30 bucks on tickets. As it turns out I won 2 AMAZING prizes! I was thrilled and as I promised in my last blog entry, I brought you back a gift BZP!

And the prizes, a rare sealed minifig pack!

And an even RARER 7190 Millenium Falcon, never opened and SEALED, plus there is like no box wear. This is worth a ton of cash.

(Here you can see it is sealed)

After all that excitement we moved on and found this nifty kite shop. They had an assortment of rubber band guns like I have never seen before! Look at that Gatling Gun, I was told it fires like 120 rubber bands a second, for that price it had better! I bought a little colt and some ammo, Ill have some fun with that I am sure. I also bought a Diode 2 handed sport kite to fly on the ocean. That was a blast, they are kind of tricky to fly but I did pretty well.

Well that was about it for the fun stuff, the rest of the time was spent driving and enjoying the beach. Im still in awe over those prizes.

Wow, a 7.8 magnitude, that is the largest quake I can recall worldwide in decades. My condolences to anybody affected by this as it is a major disaster in a densely populated area.

I tend to keep up to date on worldwide geology and what I have been seeing lately worries me. There are lots of earthquakes in uncommon areas in recent months. The Reno, Nevada area was rattled by a series of progressively stronger tremblors, a rare and unusual event as normally there is a big quake followed by less powerful ones. Residents there were told to be ready for what could be a "major seismic event" given the odd circumstances. Then there was the Chaiten volcano in southern Chile, which was dormant for the past 9000 years, erupting ash and lava recently. I fear there will be more volcanic activity soon somewhere worldwide, as an earthquake of that size in China usually triggers more activity. Many speculate that the sudden spike in worldwide seismic activity in the last decade is due to more violent storms in the oceans. High winds cause waves to pound away at the beaches and ocean floor, increasing the likely hood of tetonic plates moving and crashing into one another thus causing more worldwide earthquakes.

This planet of ours continues to become more violent, both geographically and the weather obviously is getting more violent. The midwestern US continues to have frequent tornadoes and severe thunderstorms, more so than previous years on record. That cyclone that hit Myanmar was and still is a large scale disaster. Eventually I think the only safe place for mankind will be in space and not on earth sadly. I live only about 50 miles away from Mt. Rainer, one of the worlds largest and tallest volcanoes so I always worry about these things. It has been dormant for a long time but in recent months neighboring Mt Saint Helens was seeing some activity and there have been some earth movements recorded around the base of Rainer also.

Picture this, being able to grow back lost teeth, crazy right?

These things are allready happening. Soon there may be a cure for paraplegics also. It is a little thing called Stem Cells, possibly the future of not only medicine, but science as well! In Europe, it is allready happening, with people having grown back lost teeth!

Yep, finally got my Huna spinner. Has it been 3 years allready? Im getting old I guess. I will have to do something to promote this memorable event. *Hints at new MoC*

I have it at last, once I get my PSP charged, since I have not played it in awhile, I should be able to experience it. Does anyone else have it yet? What can I expect for both single player and online play? Ex-Death and Terra are probably my favorite characters.

Also, picked up a couple Gold Heist sets, one for me and one for sale! Nifty parts selection in these sets!

Today is Washington's Birthday, today is also my birthday. Yikes, Im getting old! 27 is a big number, Ill be looking for the gray in my hair soon. Ill have another entry later on with the birthday gift haul, I expect some Phantoka and perhaps some Jungle Exo Force sets.

I may be old, but I do not act or look it barring being a father and holding a full time job. I feel plenty young still, I credit Bionicle, staying fit and video games for that!

It seems that scientists have finally discovered the energy source of the colorful Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. They found that the energy comes from a stream of charged particles from the sun flowing like a current through twisted bundles of magnetic fields connecting Earth's upper atmosphere to the sun.

The energy is then abruptly released in the form of a shimmering display of lights visible in the upper latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere. In March, satellites detected a burst of northern lights, or auroras borealis, over Alaska and Canada. During the two-hour light show, the satellites measured particle flow and magnetic fields from space.

To scientists' surprise, the geomagnetic storm powering the auroras raced 400 miles in a minute across the sky. The storms estimated power was equal to the energy released by a magnitude 5.5 earthquake.

Simply fascinating and beautiful, I can sometimes see the lights here if I look to the north. If you have never seen them it is really something to behold. It is almost hypnotic the way the lights move and fade in and out of various colors.

Update, further information was released today. Read Here.

Yes, I am blogging it after I was persuaded to do so, who is watching it?

I admit, I watch it, I was sad to see Edyta go home, her and Julianne are, um, yea. Anyone have picks for the winner? Warren Sapp moves quite well for his size, I want to see the big man win it, just because!
