Omicron is the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet, and is basically "O". O is the 15th letter of the English Alphabet. They are both in the "middle" of the alphabet. My middle initial is O, and there are 15 letters in my entire full name. So the Omicron I use is a reference to the letter, and not to anything else.
