Many may have noticed that lately I haven't been replying to topics, RPing or responding to PMs as much as I used to over the 3 years I was here, even when I was alone in Montreal with college to handle or my finals coming up.

I have several reasons. First of all, work. It's not that the job is keeping me busy even in my spare time, it's just that I am gone for most of the day, doing a pretty interesting job with quite a bit of responsibility attached to it (If I screw up realy badly, people coming out of surgery in bad shape could die after all)

Secondly I have gotten back to one of my old hobbies: Building model planes. It's been since last year, in which a lot happened, and I didn't have the time or the right mood for it, but now, coming home from work I usually find the patience to put on an audiobook and use smelly colour and a tiny brush to give small fighterjets a decent paintjob after putting them together. And it is a timeconsuming thing: 1 hour for painting two missiles and they are far from done.

Thirdly I haven't felt the Bionicle or RPG vibe lately. I am not dropping out of Bionicle and still keep track of things, but as House put it cleverly: You can only eat so much chili before you burn your tongue and then you don't want anything to do with chili for a long time.
So right now I need something else, some Lasagna.

For those who know the chili metaphor in it's actual context though: I've come to make some decisions what I will do over the next year and what I want. But some old chapters need a good ending first before I can make a fresh start.
So I need distance from a few things here to do what I have to.

So, I'll hang around, I'll reply to PMs if possible and I'll check blogs, but don't expect much art or roleplaying from me.

So, Sunday is the first big time ^^ And tomorrow is the final rehearsal for the play I'm in.
I got my fingers crossed everything goes well.

But I am confident, our other thespians rock, we're working good together

New art is on the way as well, so stay tuned for some stuff to pop up here this weekend ^^

After all, I'll be home alone this weekend as my parents will be gone to Austria for skiing two weeks, so I get the cars to use and only have to do the choires for my own wellbeeing for a few days.

Is it weird to identify with a TV-show character? Even if we both do have inner monologues, work at a hospital and our best buddy there is in surgery?

    Plus, I like Journey

    You say it doesn't?

Let me show you a little something concerning the meanings of "small" and "large" depending on what side of the Atlantic you come from.

See the square white building with cars parked on it? This is the small mall in my hometown.

And this is the SMALL mall across from Montréal Trudeau airport.

    Notice anything?

You know what I actually despise?
That lack of reason, or rather that assumption of omnipotence sometimes displayed in RPGs. What do you pro's call it? Metagaming?

Why should I bother with a long setup and chain of posts to get a character to a certain secret location, just by his own means if it apparetnly is just as legit to conjure up some random NPC who will willingly give all the information on that secret location one needs.

I am not angry at anybody specific, I am just angry that all the RPing I did with one charie for the last two days is pretty much void now.

    Whood-di-frikkin-doo. -.-

    A 1997 movie called Airboss.

I was at first intrigued by the plot. Terrorists stealing a prototype MiG stealth-fighterjet and the USAF cleans up the mess? Potentially awesome.
I should have been more aware that I got that DVD in a "4 for 5 bucks" deal and to faintly hope for a good B-movie in the action category was delusional to begin with.

So here's the story: Terrorists break into a military facility to capture said super-duper stealth-fighter. Except, "military facility" must be translated with "shabby warehouse" and "super-duper stalthplane" with "something vaguely plane-shaped under a piece of cloth.
So aparrently new stealth plains are hidden in warehouses. Interesting.

Afte the plane-theft we are introduced to our hero. A Navy flight instructor blaming himself for the death of a young pilot-learner. What really happened that she died in a planecrash I dunno, but he blames himself. Let's leave it at that. Then the man is called back into active duty by an old pal because of the new stealth plane on the loose.
Our pilot-ace is sent to fly recon over the middle-east to find the terrorists base and is promptly shot down by our ghost-jet over the desert, which, first seen in action, is far from being a) stealthy, b)new, c)Russian. Actually they used stock-film-material from an American F15.

At that point I abandoned all hope.

Captured the hero is taken to the terrorist base, which oddly looks like a set of an medieval castle. Oh well, guess they had those too in the middle-east.
The top-terrorist closest assosciate, a pretty blonde woman immediately falls for the captured pilot after seeing him chained in a cell and immediately helps him escape from the base, which is guarded by only one person.

They run from the base, outrunning the jeeps in pursuit, which can be taken out by one salve of fire from a cosmic magazine Ak47.
Let's look back: Pilotace was shot down over the middle of the desert. Desert. In the escape, it takes them 5 minutes on foot to reach the seashore. Must be one heck of a small desert then.
Just as our pilots sergeant (who didn't like the hero in the beginning) comes in a helicopter to pull them out, blonde woman and him decide to fall in love.

Anyway, now the heroes must find the topterrorist. After an incredibly stupid tank-battle the bad guy hops into his non-stealthy stealth plane to flee the scene.
Pilotace steals another plane in the hangar, which would be a Mig or Sukhoi, since we are in former soviet union states. But no, the plane is an american F4 Phantom.
Next comes the dogfight showdown, which is resolved by the hero thinking: "Oh since I can't see the bogeyman, I bet he is right behind me now, so I'll release a bit of fuel which will blind him and make his plane explode. Anybody wondering how that might work: Don't bother, this is a bad C-Movie after all!

And now my favourite part: Our hero stole a Mig, which was an F4 Phantom. Now it suddenly changes colour in midair: to a bright red special livery. Isn't that snazzy for a victorious fighter-pilot. But the incosistency doesn't end, oh no. He returns of course, back to the aircraft carrier, but the plane landing is neither the grey F4 he stole nor the bright red F4 he flew there: It's an F14 Tomcat.

So, it doesn't really get worse then this. It's a bit like a Michael Bay movie, except without the sponsoring by the military and the spiffy effects and the actually good actors.

"You are advised to submit without further delay, for if I bring my army into your land, I will destroy your farms, slay your people, and raze your city." The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If."
    Laconic Phrases ftw.!

This is for you peeps who know my BZPRPG characters.

After the great success of the Agni piece, I took the project to the next step. All the characters currently in existance have been sketched and Kohra should be
done tonight or tomorrow, not sure how much time It'll take to finish completely.

On top of that, I've got some other sketches and new characters that I will work on as soon as I can get to them.

Stay tuned and keep an eye on Artwork I =)

So, after one week of settling back in and PC troubleshooting and family-business and school organizing and cleaning up my room I finally found the time to update the blog.
My flight back home was a bit of an adventure. I left the hostel on time, I caught the bus on time, or rather, I was quite early for my flight. Of course that advantage was completely turned around a 180° when the actually boarding began. The plane was 15 minutes late which resulted in a 30-minute delay for the departure. First and executive class getting special treatment and getting to go on board first in a terribly slow pace is not good for anger-management either.
It wouldn't bother me at all under normal circumstances, but if there is an inter-Atlantic flight waiting for you in Toronto and you arrive in a rush, things get quite stressful. So stressful inf act that when I killed the time by reading up on Wikis to pass the waiting time before boarding, that I totally forgot to grab my Laptops powerchord when packing up my carry-on, so the first half of this week was spent without any Internet.

But I made it home safely in the end and enjoyed a good in-flight movie as well and finally got to buy that airline-exclusive Lego-Set you can only purchase in board ^^ It's pretty neat.
Unfortunately on arriving I found that my backpack, due to the short timeframe of my first flight did not make it onto the plane. 5 months and not once I run into trouble...but try to get back home and trouble begins...maybe it's a sign?
Anyway, mom and dad picked me up, were happy that I was safe, were not so happy that I bought so much stuff while under way and all in all it's back to normal in Germany.

I miss all you cool people on the other side of the ocean though.

Which leads to the purpose of this entry: Thankyous!

Giant (I'm talking "that's no moon that's a spacestation"-sized) thanks to CJ, Nukaya, Sisen, Lady K and families. Without you the last 6 months would not have been possible in the way they were. Thanks for taking me along, being awesome friends and just for sharing a great time. And thanks for putting up with this strange guy from Germany. He is a funky/odd fella. ^^
That being said, let me just put in a little disclaimer and say that there is no scale in this universe with which one could measure the awesome of the aformentioned people.

    Peace Out!

Today I went into town to pick up my printed artwork for my portfolio, which I want to finalize by the end of the week and hand in at the art-institute by next week. I just need to put together a little guide for those who'll review the finished folder and find a good numerical order.

Finally things are getting moving towards becoming a pro

My classmates are awesome. Plain and simple. How much, you can not even fathom, but for good measure here's todays example:
Our classroom lies on the sunny side of the building. Fine on an average day. but spring is here and he decided to bring sun along too, shining in through a window.
Now we have to stay true to our geek-roots and stay in the dark almost all day, right? Right.
The blinds have a sensor that determines when they get closed and opened.

Performing the latter action today they made this really, really horrible screeching sound while going up.

First reaction from Momo behind me?

    "NAZGÛL!"

I am currently buys helping the team with preparations for LEGO World in Copenhagen, which will start on the 12th of Febuary, (so even before NY Toy fair, for those of you hungry for news).

It's apparently a public event, so if you happen to live in or are in Denmark at the time, seems like a cool thing to check out. Also there will be a display which I had my hands on, so it will also be the first time something I built at work becomes public.

HAL is back. Aparrently he did not decide I was risking the Space-mission.

A few days without PC access can really get you to thinking. And I don't mean more time thinking away from the PC, I mean sleep-deprived lying awake asking about the question that results in 42 at 2am and no end in sight.

I got some good results and some mental walls. Also I really lack in socializing in RL atm. Pm, comment or talk to me?

The upside(s) are not bad though: I figured out why some people I know are as awesome as they seem, I watched Season 5 of House over the last 3 days and feel like his nicer younger self by now (Problem?)...oh, and AC: brotherhood collectors edition arrived yesterday :3

Now all that remains is to update HAL to run Win7 and I will be back with full force! Also I decided to update my Blog-design over the next 2 weeks. And I have started drawing a weekly webcomic. Nothing is online so far, but it will be. In time.

How have you guys been the last week?
