  1. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]"I think you're going to need a heavier drink." He tossed an indiscriminate amount of gold on the counter. "Alafandar, get us something with a little more kick.""Right away, sir." The bartender scrambled. Kerr'd come here far too often."I got you...everyone wants to matter. The sad part is if you don't matter to people you can't force that on them. That's how you wind up with people like me hired to kill you. Trust me, happened many times before. You wanna be the plucky young hero, you wait until someone asks for it. Do things your way in the meantime. Like get drunk and have a good talk with a nice guy. You don't need to be out changing the world all the time."As he monologued, the Toa ran threw his head of ways he could potentially utilize the girl in his efforts for world domination, or at least that of the island.
  2. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]Kerr laughed somberly. "Lemme tell you, if you wanna change the world, you gotta wait until the world asks for it. If there's anything I've learned. Any consolation, we're in the same boat. Ran with the wrong crowd when I was a kid. Wound up with dead friends and parents, and this." He gestured to a deep, crescent shaped scar in a left corner of his mouth. Upon his bleakly shaded Kanohi, it somewhat resembled the rising moon.Time to play up the sensitivity. "It sucks, man. Excuse my language. When there's no one to back you on your decisions, everything becomes risky, y'know?" It wasn't entirely a lie, either--he understood and believed those words, but they didn't exactly wrench his soul deep into the blackness of night.
  3. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]Kerr raised an eyebrow and gently removed her hand. "Alright then. Didn't mean anything by it, if that counts for anything." Well this was an interesting turn of events. "Why'd you leave Ko-Koro? Tell you my story if you tell me yours."This could lead somewhere interesting--she was more than just easy on the eyes.
  4. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]Kerr smiled, amused. "You can loosen your grip, sweetie. Look, no weapons." He lifted his arms again, showing his skinny, unequipped frame. "Same here, as a matter of fact. Including the let's put it that way." He smiled weakly, apparently recalling something internally.
  5. I dunno, I think the sheer terror Joker assumes kind of makes up for it. Obviously he makes that movie, that's a given. Eh, I like the idea of Ra's but he's too cheesy and in my opinion actually seems sorta arbitrary--they could've developed him so much more, I always looked at him as a plot device. On the reverse, maybe the reason Morgan Freeman's so old but still acting is because he's still got something more amazing than everything else to put out.
  6. IC--Kerr"First time here? Where ya from? I guess. Well, not originally, obviously." He gestured to his faded blue skin, before he recalled he'd painted over it with grey and in fact nothing was obvious at all. "Uh, yeah, I'm not from here, but I've been here long enough to call it home. It's the air, I think. Just got back from a two-month job in Ta-Wahi. Should I buy you a drink, Elianne?"
  7. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]Kerr stuck out a hand. "Hey Elianne, I'm Kerr." A waitress walked by. He deftly slipped a wallet out of her pocket and caught it before it hit the ground. She turned around accusingly at the Toa. He blushed innocently--"Don't mind me, I was just checking out your bum. It's a nice one." He pocketed the wallet."You were saying? Say, you been to Le-Koro before?"
  8. IC--Beast [Final Problem]He laughed agreeably, if somewhat emptily. "You got some beef with the owner? Hey, I'll give you three guesses what I do for a living."
  9. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]The Toa put his arms in a sign of surrender. "Understood. Pass me a straw?" He dissipated into the air.He reappeared on Elianne's right. "Nevermind, got it." He tried to stifle the laughter, but it flew out of him like a Gukko from a cage after being away from its mommy for years. God, that felt good. He was worried he'd lost the ability to do that. "Sorry, I never really grew up. You still haven't told me your name--you know, in case I see your friend. I imagine she'd look all suspicious-like."
  10. IC--Beast [Final Problem]Beast's hand tensed around his dagger, then loosened as the words dissipated in the air. He raised an eyebrow quizzically. His first impulse was to berate the Toa for his selfishness and corruption...but then he realized the owner of this place had probably deserved a far worse retribution, and a guy like Dorian was probably doing it for far more reasons than the money. "Just for the money?"
  11. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]Kerr nodded, following along avidly. "What's your name? If I see her I can tell her I saw you. Why you meeting her here, if I can invade your privacy?"
  12. IC--Beast [Final Problem]"Pleasure's mine. Trust me. I enjoy modern art." He gestured to Dorian's outfit. "Name's not really Beast, if you figured that out, but I don't remember my real one. So, you gonna tell why you're here?"
  13. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]Kerr smiled warmly, and sincerely, at that. He was sadistic, corrupt, and mercurial, but at least he was a genuinely nice guy. He laughed heartily. Which felt good, because it was something he hadn't done. He felt the wind rush into his lungs. "My bad! Like I said, I've been gone...my brain's as hot as the Ta. What's she look like?"
  14. IC--KerrKerr smirked, and showed it. He caught onto the girl's tired-of-boys vibe, which thankfully gave him a lead. "Alright, pleasure to meet you. I'm gonna go in for a drink, I'll let you know if I see your boyfriend." He headed in rather lazily and ordered up a Leaky Lewa, the bar's specialty. He stifled a grimace--hated the taste of this stuff, but loved the attitude it made him look like he had.
  15. IC--Beast [Final Problem]Beast smirked. This whole thing was pretty entertaining, really--absorbing, even, like a play. " Mr. Shaddix?" He chuckled. "I take it you were going to some trouble to keep that one a secret. I see why."
  16. IC--Kerr [Leaky Lewa]Kerr stood up grumbling, wiped the dust off himself. "Uhm, that's alright, I guess." He gazed up at the Toa--huh, a girl. And not a bad looking one at that. No one had thrown him a welcome-home party yet, so he figured he might have to arrange one himself."It's just I've been away for a while, just got back. Taking it all in, y'know? What's the rush?"
  17. Well, I'm old. How d'you think you've changed from last year to this year, in terms of BZP?
  18. IC--Kerr [Outside the Leaky Lewa]Kerr stepped in front of the bar, hands at his hips, and sighed for a long time. He'd been in Ta-Koro for the past two months, and after a while he couldn't tell the difference between blood and lava...it was really was refreshing to be back home. Where you roamed down the street and said hey to the pretty girls and strangers didn't question your allegiances or threaten to kill your loved ones or judge your past. You just were in Le-Koro."Good to be back." The words were tang upon his lips when he spoke them aloud. He peered into the bar. It was pretty packed, but had that kind of lazy Le-Wahi vibe...the bums slept, Skakdi played poker with Matoran, the reeking scent of alcohol, which he'd never really liked in the first place but he had to drink because otherwise why was anything at all he did considered socially acceptable and then who would talk to him or hire him? The scene was just so tranquil. He missed that."Good to be back." He smiled in anticipation. He loved disrupting some good ol' peace.
  19. IC--Beast [Final Problem]Beast shrugged uncomfortably...the innocent didn't deserve to be messed with. That was a part of the thug life he'd never really adjusted to, and it was such a basic aspect of it he sometimes found himself totally contradictory. In this profession, he really shouldn't have morals. Morals were bad."Not gonna tell why you're really here, huh?" He leaned back about, eyes out of Xylak's vision. He tossed Dorian a blank expression that spoke in its silence. We both know I'll end up knowing anyways. He patted his belt, flicking the steel of the blade. Whether by blade or persuasion.
  20. IC--Beast [Final Problem]Beast plopped a seat beside Xylak. He suddenly felt himself reeling backwards--into himself, into time. The sensation seemed to pull himself out of himself...suddenly he was with Arok and the gang again, at a casino. No signs of age--he was his lithe, youthful self again, naive arrogance providing him with a sort of sly confidence that had won him out of his more dangerous situations back in the old days. And there was Arok, throwing away literally his entire salary...Beast glared gruffly at his partner, apparently the only one in the crew not thoroughly entertained. The hall was whooping with cries of that foolish brotherly love...Arok won another hand, tossed Beast an amused look, a proud one...the man was always proud, no matter his stupidity...the stench of reeking alcohol, spilled atop archaic tabletops...flash forward, Beast was kneeling at the ground, blade to his throat and already threw Arok's...heads dangling, blood spilling, voices shrieking tears flooding memories worlds flashing dying--And then he was here.He shook himself back to reality (he wasn't sure if that'd been just a memory--felt as if his soul had been ripped from his body and dragged through time) with a primal huff."Vacation? F-from your girlfriend, right?" His voice had cracked a little. Get a hold of yourself, Beast. That has nothing to do with this...But he couldn't really let go. Memory remains to be preserved, and even at the price of its haunting he would honor it.
  21. I mean, I'm not exactly teasing him--I guess that came off as that, sorry about that. My point, cut the humor, is that he was an exceptionally talented professional whose knowledge of the humane and emotional is far beyond a point I can even understand. I'm trying to praise him, not belittle his death.
  22. So I just saw Dark Knight Rises, and my expectations were pretty much confirmed. Not those for the quality of the movie, those were pretty much blown to smithereens and scattered to the winds of cinema. I expected that Christopher Nolan, the brilliantly shrewd director he is, would be fully aware that you just can't top the sheer horror and humanity of the Joker, so he'd instead focus more on plot than on the terrifying genuineness of any one character. Which is totally what happened, and it's why despite the freakin' awesomeness of DSR, it just can't beat Dark Knight. DSR is intellectually fascinating--the intricate plot, the depth of character, the acting. Throughout the movie, I kept thinking, 'God, Bane is an amazing actor--the way he says stuff just isn't the way any other actor ever would approach saying that stuff, and he knows how to use the shortest words to make himself totally real and beyond real at the same time. Blind=mown.' This is a totally different experience than watching Dark Knight, during which I forgot altogether that Heath Ledger was acting. Dark Knight isn't just fascinating to the brain, it's emotionally a terrifying experience. Because Heath is the Joker. I have an appreciation for Bane's acting skills, but I don't have an appreciation for Heath's because they're not acting. And that's what's so scary, is that the Joker is real. After Heath put up such an indescribable performance (because that's really what it is, you can't restrict it to a few paragraphs), he realized he'd done the best thing any person has ever done and will ever do and died because his life couldn't get any better. Don't be sad, Heath fulfilled the destiny of the universe.
  23. Actually, RM, Tuck retired- Nuju's the new head GM. He now has more power than Tuck, actually. Though if someone, like Despair, got approval from Tuck to do that, I don't see why Nuju won't allow you to keep it- after all, it's a pre-approved power.what i've been gone so long ;_;Yeah, better safe than sorry. Nuju's gone long enough with a clear inbox. PM him the same question forty times so it gets through for sure.
  24. Guys, NM's ruling's probably a reference to Tyler sending a spike of steel through a girl's head with his tongue. At least, that's the most poignant use of it I saw. Probably not the best if you continued to use it (unless you have special permission from FT, who's pretty much untoppable in terms of authority) since the GM just said it's probably not the best if you use it, but it probably wasn't directed at you.
