  1. IC--Beast [Final Problem]Beast raised an eyebrow. He was in the mood to push some buttons and pull some strings. To irritate any simple machine, really. "Looks like there's some bad blood in the family. At least you're the one who owns the casino and he's the one attached to the beer."
  2. IC--Beast [Final Problem]Beast stood leaning against a counter across from Dorian as the Toa strode lazily past, an amused smirk spattered across his face. He strut over beside Reichenbach. "Your system here's far beyond the legality it should be at."He gazed knowingly at Dorian--the Toa may have been a clever criminal, but in terms of years Beast knew himself to be the wiser. He had his morals and experience. Still, though, this Dorian character was utterly...fascinating. Intriguing.
  3. xD I completely understand.Speaking of which, I'd like my BZP goal to be to get an emoticon of my avatar. For everyone to use. I figure even if it never sees the light of day, I'll still be in literally everyone's post, watching their every movement and aspect of home life.
  4. Whoops, PM'd you twice, ignore one. :P

I just hate it when the forum glitches like that.

  5. Haha, I was kidding, I totally respect most OBZPCs, and my respect has nothing to do with their pro to. They get the proto boosts because they're the kind of members who deserve respect, so incidentally I end up respecting most people with proto. Go figure. I got premiership for the blog, mainly, which has nothing to do with status. If you don't know how to use it with integrity, there's a good chance it can lessen your status.
  6. Who wants to do it? You'd need to be really good with plot--coming up with elaborate plot arcs to guide the RPG once it's already in play. And you gotta like what you do. That's the only two requirements. Comment here/PM if you're interested, I'll let you know what I got.

Yeah, that's totally true--I mean, there's a pre-established order of things in every area of life, mathematics, music, writing, science, everything. It's not like before the number five was invented there could only be up to four of things. Which is a simple way of putting exactly what I'm saying about music--it's a beautiful connection to the divine that we don't create, we just find.
  8. That emoticon's a Kraana. :PHey, easiest way to get proto's premiership. It shows a contribution to BZP, and people think you're an exceptionally awesome member when really you just have a bank account. In a sense, it's a statement that if you have more money you're a better person. BZP's clearly feeding into American corruption.
  9. Yo, about your post in the goals topic in GD--when staffies say they 'really tried to become staff,' what exactly does that mean? Y'know, for a research paper I'm writing. :P

Right, that makes sense. I had in mind you sacrificing noobs to B6 or threatening to kill his loved ones or something.

I figured...bet it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to think that you got the position out of good behavior, doesn't it?

True story. If you're into the whole power of music over words thing, you definitely should check out Explosions in the Sky--listen to The Birth and Death of the Day and What Do You Go Home To?
  11. I'm guessing you'll never see this, but on the astronomically low chance you do you gotta contact me ASAP. We have RPG ideas to discuss.

  12. O.o I have been disturbed. You've pretty much screwed yourself as a writer. You just required us all to talk in passive voice all the time.
  13. Well, I know nothing about seafaring, and this is a fantasy, but I plan to do research anyways. There'll be a cap, I just gotta figure out what it is.The bare minimum for submitting a char is to, go figure, submit a char. Just one. No ship, just classic RPG single dude. You also have the option of submitting a ship. If you choose to do this, the requirement is that you submit a profile for a ship, and then a profile for your captain. At this point, your crewmen do not have profiles, and they are all for practical purposes part of the ship, an extension of the captain. You may flesh them out to whatever extent you want, but you can't have them straying off or start telling things from their perspective until you make them a profile of their own. Once crewmen have profiles, they act as freelance, individual chars like the first option in the beginning of this paragraph, and can either stick with the rest of their crew, or go off on their own for whatever reason you decide, or you can create them as a member of a different crew. The options are pretty much limitless--I don't say that as a gimmick, you can literally create a char in whatever parameter you want.
  14. If you dreamed about farm animals, what would the capital of Syria be? Also, what's with the similar names and numbers on all you drones? Also hai ET I missed you :3
  15. Haha, don't worry, when it comes to RPG writing I've had my fair share of practice. If there's any technicality required, I'm gonna make it as brief and clear as possible, with lots of spacing and coloring.Good call, I'll offer players the ability to either choose a ship or an individual char, and that char may be a member of another member's crew, or your own crew. Just to spice it up, members don't need the approval of a ship's captain to be members aboard, so long as they have logical reason for being aboard in the first place.Yeah, basically you got crew members who're essentially nameless dudes under a captain's control. RPers can name them and flesh them out to whatever extent they want, so long as they don't start making posts from their points of view. If you wanna do that, just make a new profile. The cap's probably somewhere around eight-ish, and one of the upgrades you can get allows for additional crew members. You can also go around on your own recruiting random RPers you meet on island, but there'd be a restriction on drafting NPCs for obvious reasons. In terms of submitting crew profiles, it'd be something like ship type, weaponry, crew count (which you update) whenever your crew gets bigger), ship appearance, ship history, allegiance, and then a brief adaptation of the classic profile for the ship's captain. Captain's the only one who gets a full profile, initially. The crewmen are basically part of the ship.I get how technical this all looks, but I'll be sure to make this clear and to the point in the written draft.

Do I need to be kissed by a prince and start wearing wedding dresses on a daily basis, or can I cut straight to the avatar?

I mean honestly you can take the full and slow process to make sure you get the entire feel of positive energy and make yourself prepared for the name, Riisiing Sun. But, if you're strong enough, I say you could skip right to the avatar!

  17. I mean, all that's the kind of stuff I don't need the approval of everyone for, that'll work regardless of what I come up with. You think concept of submitting whole crew profiles rather than an individual char profile would work in practice and without issue?Travel'd be regulated by the RPers. I'd post a map of whatever realm I decide to use (I need a co-writer for this thing), and people can navigate their boats around the seas and islands as any RPers travel around in any RPG.

    Music

It's kind of miraculous, when you think about it, that people can be so deeply, spiritually affected by something created by people. I just listened to the Across the Universe version of the Beatles' Across the Universe, and there's this kind of this metaphysical sensation going on, like the song channels some greater power to man. I get how cliche that sounds, but everyone's felt it at some point--a connection to music that goes beyond physical enjoyment. It's something emotionally deeper than I can comprehend. John Lennon (the song's author, for those of you who are unfortunate enough to not recognize the name) was a freakin' mad genius, but he was really just a guy. He was as human as any of us, despite his beauty, and I highly doubt he communed with aliens or spirits at any point in life (after all, George was the Buddhist). He had just as much access to the kind of divinity related to beautiful music as you or me, and it really strikes me as amazing that he can come up with something like Across the Universe, and that a bunch of dudes making a movie for the masses can adapt it into what's in my opinion even more awe-inspiring. The way I look at is this--music is created by man, it's discovered by him. John Lennon did not create the metaphysical scraps that form music and then piece them together and take credit. He simply found it, unveiled it for everyone to behold. It's not really a miracle that humans can write something that makes us feel beyond humane. Some of us are just really good lookers. For the record, John Lennon said the lyrics to Across the Universe 'just popped into his head' while he was listening to his wife yell at him.
  20. Onarax--That was easy xD LL--You may live if you pay tribute.
  21. Haha, true...I might scrap the civilization building thing and just, at an official level, make a system for battles and stuff. Members establishing alliances and factions essentially does the same thing as building civilization without going overboard, since now when two people become friends you have two entire crews who follow each other around.
  22. Hey Jude--Joe Anderson. I think out of every song in Across the Universe, this comes closest to being as good as the Beatles version. Besides Across the Universe (the song), which I actually think is better. If I even have the right to say such a thing.
  23. Ripped from my blog--So, the RPG would be set at sea. Instead of submitting character profiles, you'd submit a profile for your ship--ship type, weaponry, allegiance (which, of course, depends on what the plot is), etc. You'd be able to upgrade all that junk based on your success throughout the game in the areas of battle and civilization-building.How, you inquire, does one battle and build civilization? Well, you'd have control of the entire crew of your ship, and based on your efforts in the realms of battling and building civilization you'd receive upgrades! But wait, RM, how do you have any kinda personal interaction with your buddies when you control entire crews? But wait, RM, how can you keep track of the entire crew's whereabouts?Well, in addition to your ship's profile, you'd submit a relatively short profile for your captain, who's the main focus of the RPG. The crewmen would be something between PCs and NPCs--controllable for the sake of battles and civilization-building and such, but one-dimensional, 'flat' characters who can't play as much of an RPing role (lol role-playing role) as the captain. If you wanna flesh out a crew member or twelve, all you gotta do is submit a profile for 'em and get going. This is an extremely rough draft of an idea, so there'll be lots of holes. Please point them out so I can figure out solutions, or if you think it's entirely bogus scrap it all together. Thoughts?
  24. How do I get the approval of you noobular folk? You young whippersnappers are too hip for me.
