What an emotional week my mom and I had -personal stuff. D:

Yesterday, the plumber came and installed our new dishwasher, new pipes under the sink, new garbage disposal, and installed the small water line for the refrigerator. The good news is that everything works; the bad news is that we got a leak in the wall, and this was after dad cleaned up the area under the sink. :annoyed2:

On other news, I have almost everything I need for my pirate costume!

    Original costume, from party store

Labor Day: the hottest weekend in southern California. But enough about the heat, I'm happy to bring good news!

Mom and I went out shopping today, and we found a corner desk for our living room -we found the unit at a kid's furniture store, of all places, as we don't have much room. I'm considering getting one for myself, because I have a small room.

We also found purple fabric for a dress I've wanted to make. (By now, we also found some store-bought possibilities, if we can't find someone to make a purple dress)

Dad finished painting the kitchen, and he took down the plastic today! The cove is now bright and clean-looking; and Dad and TOV cleaned the counters off, making it feel even cleaner; though I can't say if the sun or our kitchen dazzled my eyes. However, because my dad is fixing the plumbing, we will still have to use throw-away plates and "borrow" the bathroom sink.

We also have a new front door -my dad and my uncle, who works at a door/window store, installed it about a week ago, and the windows on the door help to lights up the entire one-story house! My uncle is also going to help us install a new kitchen window, but that's after we fix the sink.

Finally, my new bedding came in yesterday! I know I linked to the picture, but it is so much more gorgeous up close.

I'll be going to the art forum now -for those reading this, thank you for visiting my art topic and double thank you for posting in it!

This school computer is driving me nuts! But besides that, I got my college ID today.

I also have an announcement for later today (namely, when I get home): stay tuned!

My Goodness! Gali Nuva Girl Graduates!

    Click Thumbnail

On June 13th, I graduated from Oak Knoll! Out of the forty students in the Class, I knew three of them; one being in the background. At my school, before we receive our diploma, the principal or president of the school board will read a presentation (which each of us already worked on with the principal via interview). Mine was short, because I had been at a loss for words. For the classmate in the background, when she stood up her family held up sombreros and signs that said, "Tita = 25% Mexican, 25% Caucasian!" and other messages. After the Graduation, her brother doused her with silly string.

I was also the only from my class to receive a scholarship from the school district. (But I knew that, because I already received the congratulatory letter.)

Because my graduation was in the morning, my family had time to eat lunch before my mom had to help with Arrow's graduation (both schools share the same grounds).

Then, because Oak Knoll is K-12, the school holds a promotion ceremony for all the students. I got to see the younger students from band, and I was recognized for being a Graduate.

I will now elaborate on events that occurred while I finished my homework

    Tonight, I made this:

It's (one of) my dream avatar for NSB. I've also got two others, but I have yet to use photoshop on it.

Come to think of it, I think I want to add more purple to this current one...

On TOV's Birthday, we went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. Here, I wistfully stared at Prom couples (my school doesn't have prom, so I can't understand it). Two of them were from the Chino Bethel, we could hardly recognize them when they visited our table.

Then, when the waiter brought out the cake, he started singing "happy birthday" in Italian. TOV tried to hide his face, making Mom and me laugh. Dad exclaimed, "We've got pink! Let's see if we can hit red!"

Not much else to write about. We watched "Blood Diamond," which I liked better than "Children of Men," and My Bethel is going to initiate a new member next meeting!

I am also working hard on creating a theme for my blog: crowns fit for a (drama) queen.
  7. Soaring Strawberry
In the past weeks, I went to the go to Church Sunday with the Jobies. For this term, we went to the Covina Christian Church, and the theme was "The Lord is my Shepherd." Before the service started, I told the Choir Director that I was in Choir. She was very excited by the news, and went on and on about it to everyone... I didn't expect that, so I was humbled and embarrassed simultaneously

Then they went to the park to make sno-cones while my family and I went to Simi Valley to see my Great Uncle from New York. Some of our other relatives watched the baseball game, and (I regret not bringing my swimsuit) went into the pool.

After that, not much has happened. Tomorrow is The Omniscient Voice's Birthday, so everyone give him goodwill!

He's going to be so embarrassed, but we love him anyway

    Bionicle movie music

I sent in my entry for the contest today!

The entry was everything I had in mind when I started, but with gel pens as a last minute color decision. I'm especially proud of how Pridak's face came out; murderous, really. Takadox frustrated me, becase his head is so hollow. I now know how a space probe engineer feels when his creation is sent on its mission.

I bagged candy with the Jobies, for a local park's upcoming event. We finished quickly, but we were also so busy that there wasn't much conversation.

The scholarsip interview went well; there was a panel of three nice women, and they asked about things in the essay I had previously sent in. I'm not sure how else to describe it.

On the Not-(a)-Bionicle Site (NSB), they added cinemas. It's an interactive chat room, like their towns system, but you can throw stuff -popcorn, tomatoes, fireballs- "kiss" people, etc. So far, they only have two features, and then a list of ancient (and boring) educational ones. I tried it, the fun is in the interaction.

Now, if only we can get the site to play Bionicle movies...

    Hurrah #1: Contest Entry!
I finished my comic cover contest entry! I will scan it at school tomarrow before I send it to Lego.

    Hurrah #2: Dept 56!
As our collection increased, we have set up a separate alotment of our income for Dept. 56. This means that the collection will NOT impair my ability to attend the Comic-Con.

    Hurrah #3: Scholarship!
I have an interview this week for a scholarship! Everyone wish me luck!

    Hurrah #4: Band!
    Band will start Tomarrow!

    Hurrah!

Much better! Anyway I just got back from Grand Assembly for California Rainbow, and there is a lot to tell about this event, so...

A Tropical Heaven in 2007 Part 1: The Week Before

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, went to two Rainbow Meetings (I visited Citrus for their mtg.) and the Jobie meeting. At Citrus Assembly, Tomcat and Goo Goo Bear's Dad each received the Grand Cross of Color (the card, you get the medallion at Grand Assembly). Sunshine's meeting became an instructional. At Jobies, The Grand Bethel Librarian visited.

Thursday was all about packing; and on Friday, Nansea, my Mom and I piled into my parents' van to arrive in Fresno. We chose to spend an extra night because I was in Grand Choir, and the Saturday practise was at eight in the morning

That was the week before, And I need to get back to work.

Background Music: Creeping in My Soul

I've been meaning to write this for a while: I may not be going to the San Diego Comic-Con this year. It started after 2006 Christmas, when my parents bought candy lights and glitter-covered faux greenery.

Then we had to get a gingerbread house, leading to the other four reasons why I may not go:

30th Anniversary Christmas Sweet Shop Lego Ideation Station Ginny's Cookie Treats Poinsettia Palace Yes, we are starting a Department 56 village. Totally unexpected, we got each building to represent something about my family: for example, "Ginny" is my Grandmother's nickname. No, we are not done.

My parents asked me to bid on Toot's Model Trains for them. I put in the bid and got:

Anyway, that's why I may not be at the Comic Con: The money that may have been used to pay for admission is paying for a porcelain village.

3/17 (Sat): St. Patrick's Day? This event was entirely ignored. Dad was gone all day, helping his Troop organize their stuff in the afternoon, and then attending an expensive Scout dinner because a seat opened. Mom and I went shopping, and we came home with a pair of green and blue shoes. That was all the green I wore all day. I also got my graduation announcement pictures, which I will publish with my art after we get a new scanner.

3/18 (Sun): We went to Disneyland, for the first time since Christmas! We spent virtually the whole afternoon in Tomorrowland. We went on several familiar rides (not Space Mt.)s and then we saw two things for the first time: ASIMO in the Innoventions and the Jedi Academy. The former was awesome, but Mom was surprised by how short ASIMO was (4 ft). The height didn't bother me; shows what I get for being a Bionicle fan. For the Star Wars, I'm not a fanatic (TOV is), but one of the participants matched my enthusiasm and appearance... it was actually funny, especially as these young children sword fought with Darth Vader.

Then we (finally) went to Downtown Disney, and I (finally) got AXONN, BRUTAKA, VEZON/ FENRHAK, and DELFAK! I will build them this weekend.

3/19 (Mon): There are two ways I could start. One is "I hate Mondays," but I'll go with this:

You can't see my braces... and with the help of the Vahki, hygiene shall be maintained!

I got my braces yesterday, they are Invisalign. I bought a Bordahk toothbrush months ago, waiting for the arrival of my braces to use them. When I went to the Orthodonist, I was not expecting to have "attachments" added, nor was I expecting weird feelings the rest of the day. The braces look like topographical maps of my teeth, and they fit so well that my fingers are still sore from removing them before lunch. They say that they will get looser as the days pass, until two weeks later when they are nearly falling off. Then I'm supposed to go to the next tray, and so on... until JULY.

i just hope Mom doesn't boast about it too much. When TOV got the Invisalign, Mom had him show them off to all of her fellow teachers and everyone else she talked to. I'll also have to bear the revival of the "bulletproof teeth" jokes.

    NEXT TOPIC: SUMMER PLANS.

Background Music: "Creeping in my Soul"

I struggled to get my homework, so I didn't complete much. As a Senior, I felt terrible for that.

But then Mom got home... and the comic was in the mail! But on a meeting night again... Why must I suffer?

Just Kidding. I got to read it because I got ready before Mom was. I loved how the Story page became a two page spread featuring all 6 Barraki! Then of course the page featuring the art. The due date is May, so I have enough time to make an entry! Finally, I decide to enter... Wait, is there an age limit? I am 18, and I know that stopped me from entering in the Free the Band Sweepstakes...

    *Checks in Magazine*

YAY! No age limit! Who's with me? *utter silence*

    Oh, well.

The meeting was all right. Tom Cat came and filled in as Worthy Advisor. This is the second meeting that I haven't used my WA gavel. Where is it, anyway?
  14. Soaring Strawberry
    I have too much energy.

This is mostly because I'm not Worthy Advisor anymore. Even before I became that station, I was always busy doing something other than homework. I planned three Installations, fundraisers, learned about half of the Rainbow Ritual... So I needed more energy. But now I'm not WA anymore and it's technically too early to be planning anything for my Honored Queen term, so what's a girl to do?

The good news is, when the scanner gets fixed (or if the neighbors let me use their scanner, I am going to ask them today) I'll have a lot of drawings to show BZP.

I came online to tell you this, but when the Yahoo page came up, I found this article about a Canadian's call for the use of alien technology in the quest to stop climate change. I nearly laughed, because we don't need alien technology. What we need is the willpower to use ethanol and hydrogen. It's like the Toa Hordika seeking Keetongu, only to hear that they don't need to be cured.

The Playstation is back in action! I have played the the first three levels of BH.

The game has thrown storyline out the window; but the older a fan you are, the more it's like a high school reunion. If you're a younger fan, you have an excellent chance to be introduced to the characters from the past. That's one of my favorite aspects of the game.

The other is the humor. I wrote something about that it my paper journal, so I'll quote that... when I find it.

TOV also started playing the game. I can't believe it: We've only had our PS2 a week, and in his SW game he's already finishing his first run of Episode 6! How does he do it?

Tip For Life #1: Always pack your backback the night before you go to school. I didn't heed this suggestion, and I forgot to do high-priority items this morning.

As I turned in completed work, I learned that I now have two projects for Macbeth:
"Read aloud to your teacher some of the pasages in the play which seem most significant to you. "Design three costumes appropriate for either the hero or heroine of this video. Indicate the scenes in which the costumes would be worn." What they mean by "video," I will never understand.
Meanwhile, I have to do some essay questions and a test.

Then there's a lot of other homework. Good thing I have a Break before the semester ends!

Hello, I am Gali Nuva Girl. I would like to welcome everyone who reads this blog. Here I will chronicle my crazy life. I have been writing in journals since second grade, and I will continue writing on paper for those topics that may not be appropiate for the forums. Right now, it's late at night, but later I will write a novel about recent adventures!

Background music: "Christmas Moods" (CD, 1998)

My specialist's office called and told me that I do not have an infection. I'm not sick, this is part of a life long medical issue. I was going to note it in my journal, but it has vanished! I'm not worried, it'll turn up eventually.

Anyway, the Christmas season is arriving! Here, it isn't heralded by 90% off sales at the mall or the fact that Thanksgiving is over.

    The Pointsettias are here.

Every year, the Boy Scout Troop that my Dad and my brother, the Omnscient Voice (until he got his Eagle) have a Pointsettia fundraiser, and last year my (Rainbow) Assembly started the same. My parents are in charge of purchasing and storing the plants, and for the second year I went with them.

We went to a local nursery, where seas of red float under white domes. Canals of pink and white are in another dome, with huge baskets hanging above. I chose a Jingle Bells, with red flowers speckled with pink (if it's white spots we call it "Glitter"). My mom's faveorite is the Christmas Rose, because the petals fold and curl to resemble a rose.

Then my mom and I went clothes shopping at Khol's. I needed pants w/o elastic that fit me: my waist is too small for rear, so if I try to wear low-riders, you will find "A gap large enough to store a purse" (Mom) Fortunately, we found something that shrunk enough in the wash. While we were at it, we also bought a blue hoodie.

    Comments welcome.
