So I get to work today, and my boss drops this bit of news on me: We need to clear out the space Xccj and I built the island of Mata Nui MOC in to make way for a birthday party in a few short weeks.

That means the island had to move.

    Like now.

So, it's now at my house, along with Green Lantern and Captain America (the megafigs we made). Any changes needed to be made must be made at my house now.

In other words, I cannot fix the volcano nor the mountain.

BUT! I can repair Po-Koro and add to Le-Wahi with some other colors, as suggested in the topic. So, it's not a lost cause. I just need to fix it in my own time.

Please understand that I cannot repair anything else until I move it back to the studio. Sorry to those who insisted I repair/replace the parts.

Emerald City ComicCon was epic. Our booth was in the very opening of the registration room, so we got plenty of visitors. We also had a few guests visit the booth and check our stuff out. Wil Wheaton signed a model depicting himself signing the model. Very meta. The voices for Pinky And The Brain signed a mosaic of the characters, which was pretty epic. John DiMaggio visited the booth, but was bummed to find nothing there for him to sign (he voices Bender in Futurama.)

As for me? I MET BATMAN.

This image is of me and Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in Batman The Animated Series, to just about anything else Batman related up to Batman Arkham City the game. He could easily be the most recognized actor of Batman in my generation. Only Adam West can top him.

There is no doubt more to come, as I have a few photos from the booth I have yet to download from the camera. But man was it fun.

Meanwhile, I'm going to begin work on a top secret project tomorrow for the shop, it'll be AMAZING. No details on that (we're keeping it under wraps, but I will share... one day.)

Oho man, we're not even close to being done, but I'm excited for this leg of the stretch. With two days to go, we need a bit of a miracle at this point to keep us going

I think on Sunday, if we don't end up working on the island, I'm going to post a random set of photos we took with my camera that shows behind-the-scenes and more in-detail photos of some of the construction methods used.

Also, I should post a few of our easter eggs and see if you can tell what they are. We have at least two that I know of so far.

Anything else you guys wanna see in detail? I'll take pics on Sat. of those areas.

I'm a glutton for Pink Floyd, I am

I went to FYE and found Delicate Sound of Thunder, plus a live DVD concert film of David Gilmour (Remember That Night: Live at the Royal Albert Hall), then went to Wal-Mart, saw The Making of Dark Side of the Moon, which I had seen on Netflix once or twice, and I loved immensly. So I picked that up, too.

Next time I get a load of cash? The Wall Immersion. I've made up my mind.

Anything new with you guys? XD

So Xccj visited the studio last Thursday. He has an okay write-up on his blog about it.

During his visit, we looked over the proposed space where we'll be building, and he and I got Dan sort of up to speed on it, where we'll have time to sit down and plan out how we intend to build all of it.

For the most part, we'll have everybody submit models and (if possible) detailed instructions on more complex parts so we can easily replicate it between both of us. That will take out the footwork of working on landmarks and gives us time to work on the actual model itself.

We're still in the planning stages, but it's going to be amazing. The model itself will probably take about a week (or so we hope) and we'll need to commit 200% each just to push it to completion.

If there are -any- members in the Pacific Northwest who can drop by in March for help (preferrably older members with licenses to drive for out-of-state) who wish to help build and wants the chance to meet a LEGO Certified Professional, drop me a PM or email me swertmastra (at) gmail.com with the subject line "Project BMN Volunteer" and we'll work out when and where you need to be : D The more the merrier!

So, I get to work today, and lo and behold I'm already slammed into work. That's fine, that's why I'm there.

I had designed a model last year for Dan, a firehall based in New York (Hook & Ladder 8, also known as the Ghostbusters HQ) and we're not sure what happened, but it got damaged in a specific place.

So the back wall is removable. On one side is a set of windows and (badly designed) fire escape. On the reverse is a blank wall, that way we can put it in any display where we have limited room and need that space that the fire escape takes up.

So, I'm told it was damaged and -badly- repaired, so Dan told me to make a new one. Fine, done. He also had me work on a tunnel entrance for his train layout, and tomorrow we'll be building a Duplo mountain on top. So hey Xccj, I'll have Duplo experience for the BMN project : D

Finally, my day was actually improved when I got my boss' christmas gift ten minutes before taking off for work. He loves it (I'll post a photo of it tomorrow).

And I get more to do tomorrow XD

But good news? Friday and the whole weekend, L.A. Noire 8D So yeah, all in all I'm having a good time.

    Curse you, Niners.

    And you as well, Lions.

At least we're not 4th place NFC. Thanks for that, Rams : D

    Oh well, 8-8 season beats 2-14, RIGHT INDY & STL? : D : D

Alright, I'm not much for bandwagon hopping, but if I must I must... Packers or Saints for NFC, Ravens or Broncs for AFC. That's my choices.

I'll be working on setting up this year's train layout.

Would anybody be interested in pics and/or a video of one of the trains going on the track?

    Also, I could use a break already x_x but I have Wed-Fri off : D

I can't name the source of them, but I can discuss what I saw.

I honestly thought it'd be -bad- given what I remembered. But strikingly, despite the campy acting and the pretty hurried script, I'd be down for a reboot if the copyright issues can be fixed.

More specifically, the opening in the first episode with "the stranger" and waking up to seeing Nick Bluetooth (that -is- his real name in the show, for those not old enough to remember it) was a great hook for someone like me.

I won't go into too many details tonight, but suffice it to say it was not the worst thing I'd ever seen. I've tortured myself with a review of Star Wars Holiday Special. This wasn't that.

    Not even close.

But when I do, I prefer to post something amazing.

Boss wanted me to add links and stuff on BS01 to sites I cannot mention here (but got permission to link on BS01 from Black Six, so I'm safe to link it on BS01) so I made him a new logo, cause I couldn't stand the last one.

    He liked it.

    1. Gotta finally upload photos for a client who paid me in advance (money in which I used to go to BrickCon.) I've had so much on my plate, it's been put off until now.

    2. Need to do basic cleaning of the household. I already overhauled it, but man it could use more work.

    3. Boss called me up yesterday to generate a mosaic for him, due sunday night. Man, when'd I get the cool job/hard job?

    5. Sleep. _-_ Zz

Xccj had his, so now I should keep a log of what I want.

    1) Weighted Storage/Companion Cube
If I make a WSC, I'd make it light up. If I make WCC, it'd just be standard. I can find enough plate to make the stripes light up.

    2) Microcity scale anything
I am fascinated by micro, being that I personally have limited parts in system. I can envision a whole table layout, using 8x8 plate as my base, either baseplate or regular plate. Nearly anybody could submit an 8x8 plate of any standard color, and we could just combine them. Imagine a playground made by fifteen different people, or even a 16x16 Dome building.

    3) Sounders FC on a soccer pitch
I could make all XI starter players of the 2011 Sounders FC team. Pipe dream, but I think it'd doable.

    4) Mata Nui stone
I think I could generate one similar to my cube, it'd be simple and unique.

    5) Mata Nui island (collab. project)
As you might be able to tell by now, I'm a -huge- System builder. Not in popularity, but in preferred building style. My boss, Dan Parker, suggested to me at BrickCon 2010 he wished to build the island of Mata Nui as a sculpture. The size he wanted was outrageously large, TOO large. For his idea to work, we would need at MINIMUM 90 15x15 baseplates, in length alone. We want to build much smaller than that.

It may happen this year, it may happen next year, it may happen in 2013 assuming we all live, but it's -going- to be built. It's too awesome not to be.

And yes, that'll be a huge project, regardless of its scale.

Man, where did all this free time for gaming come from? : O

Also, 61.something in LSW3. Man, this game is massive. Think LEGO Harry Potter massive, only not as confusing to navigate as Hogwarts was.

So, I went to that new password form, figuring to fix my password. I go to fill it out.

    "Sorry, incorrect password."

    Huh, okay. Take two...

    "Sorry, incorrect password."

    Take three...

    "Sorry, incorrect password."

    Take Forty-Two...

    "Sorry, incorrect password."

    Take One hundred and nine...

    "Sorry, incorrect password."

Finally, asked Black Six to help me out. He hooked me up with a password for temporary usage. By this point, I was convinced it was the new password unit anyway. Take nine thousand and one...

    "Welcome to BZP."

Seriously. It was that easy. I wish to thank Six for hooking me up with a temp password, and for putting up with my foolish ways, and whatnot. But yeah, first hand experience folks, this system -WORKS.-
