So, I mentioned before in my ignored blog post that I wanted to build Mata Nui the island. Xccj and I discussed it, Dan Parker and I discussed it, and we're ALL on the same page to get this done...

    in March.

Now why do you, the reader, care?

Cause at some point, we will be asking for fan-submitted Mata Nui System-Based locations. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO MAIL ANYTHING TO US. We are going to have as much material as we can muster for this project, and so long as you provide good photos or instructions, we can rebuild it. If you are like me, with limited material -at home-, feel free to use LDD Extended. We don't need it immediately, we're nowhere near ready for anything at all yet. The scale we're looking at in total (for now) is 10 32x32 stud baseplates in length, 6 baseplates in width, and maybe 2 plates in height from the baseplate up (this figure is flexible for now). It'll be a sculpture, not a mosaic.

When we do ask for models (Feel free to build a few now) we'll tell you. Meantime, the following are already taken by either myself, Xccj, Dan Parker or someone I have asked:
Ga-Koro Naho Falls (with the Kaukau mask, Gali's)
    Po-Wahi's Six Toa mask statues
    Mangai (We'll handle it )
Toa figures (Dan has an idea for them, we'll most likely have a few models.)

Now, the earliest we can even begin to plan this is November. I myself can't even begin to build towards it in the shop until January, maybe December of this year. We also have plans for Kini-Nui, but will welcome all suggestions

Please, we ask if you do build in LDD Extended, build using known actual parts. For example, if it's tan in your photo, but no tan exists, we can't use it. Also, if it's a premium part with a premium color, assume we may not have it. That's sad, but we can adapt it. (Example: Dark Red may look nice in Ta-Koro, but we can use regular red too.)

I hope to have more information for you all soon, but for now keep it in mind.

So, unfortunately I work two days in a row starting tomorrow, and I have stuff to do on sunday, so I guess I get to go see it on Monday.

Even though I read the book like twice and saw an animated version of it once, please don't spoil it

    Hopefully worth the money.

You know, I don't get it. Everybody says Everything Is Awesome is stuck in their heads, though it isn't in my head. I've even been playing the Lego Movie videogame and they play it every time you obtain an objective, and it STILL isn't stuck in my head.

Having said that, I somehow got all of the songs from RWBY Volume One's soundtrack stuck in my head now. Perhaps it was a -bad- idea to download both soundtracks to my phone on the same day.

Also blah boredom and blah busy work schedule.

    Just one statement, really:

WHY MUST I WAIT A WHOLE MONTH FOR THIS?!

    That's really it.

I love the graphics upgrade, the change over with both the lightsaber change, and the gameplay mechanic for vehicle fights. I -love- the fact we can now land them and exit our ship and fight droids. I dunno about what I think will be a real-time strategy mode, but hey, it can't be all too bad right?

Force powers are MUCH better. I love the fact it works like the LEGO Harry Potter Wingadium Leviosa power, in that we can lift and move in multiple axes. The fact they also added The Force Unleashed-inspired force push is awesome, and lightsaber toss is a much welcome addition, especially after seeing it in LEGO Batman.

Oh wow, C-3PO finally has a purpose : O He's the archeologist/Hermione of Star Wars now, and in a much simpler method than the 3x3 box and the 2x2 box we had last. Now it's like Simon Says, only instead of more challenges, you get opened doors. Awesome.

I know this whole entry is really spoiler-laced as far as what to expect, especially if you planned to try the Demo. Trust me, this only touches base on SOME of what to expect in it.

I'm sold on the game, personally.

I honestly got bored, and decided to copy Cholie outright, but with a more... Metro twist.

Buddy of mine (he knows who he is) said I shouldn't post it. I disagree. What do you guys think?

Also, if you can guess EVERY BLOCK'S MEANING, you win an eCookie.

When hist'ry wrought an archive new
From tale, from code in Wiki Blue
For knowledge, this, we worked upon.
    Continue now, EDIT ON!

I sincerely wish to thank Inferna Firesword, for being an awesome person. Oh, and for my rings The Nuparu Inika claw was given to me in 2011 at BrickCon. The second is a custom for me I commissioned.

    And now it's mine.

(Special thanks to Tomana for writing the Wiki Lantern Oath. YOU ROCK BUDDY!)

I know many have already said to remember those who have fallen for their country, and those are truly those whose memories and lives we should honor.

But I want to look deeper.

I truly wish to remember and honor the families who lost loved ones in these wars. I want to remember every wife, child, mother, father, brother, sister, even grandchildren who lost those serving our fair country.

Now you might ask me, why should we care about them? Is not today the day remember fallen heroes?

    And I would answer.

Why shouldn't we remember them? Though their loved one paid a sacrifice to defending freedom, it is they who must live with it.

So yes, honor and remember our fallen soldiers... but don't forget those who miss them more.

Okay, I must personally apologize to all MakutaFest people who attended during that question. When writing them, we did research pretty deeply on BS01 directly, and I remembered the Taku but mistakened it for the same role as the Kewa, which is much larger and indeed the one we wanted instead.

One of our biggest errors was in how BS01 worded it: "When the Great Cataclysm brought about the creation of the island of Mata Nui, many Kewa migrated there and established themselves in Le-Wahi. In the wild, they shared their nests with their relative, the Taku."

Now, we do wish to apologize to everyone for that question, it was clearly made in error. Now having said that, I'm still trying to find out if there was a third bird, and I'm thinking "Husi" woulda been a much better answer.

I am now taking all steps towards making BS01 more efficient in searching, including adding categories to pages specifically related to online media and/or specific sets such as the BIONICLE Master Builder set.

I think, with this in mind, we'll be better off in the long run than we were. And at least we had other questions to ask, right?

So, I've decided that a redesign of the main page was in order, given we just lost our last one (forgot to back it up, oh well)

I have a preview of the style the new Wiki Nav (not the Main Page Nav) up on the site here: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/User:Swert/Zunebox

I think I'll share the main page nav once the design is done, but for now I wanna know what everybody thinks.

Other than I'm crazy, that much I knew :B

So, as I mentioned in an earlier blag entry, I now work at a LEGO art studio called City Blocks. My first project for them is an event piece in which we are modifying the Green Grocer, a LEGO Exclusive set.

What modifications, you might ask? Well for one, the whole thing used to be 32 studs wide. It is now 31. Two, it has only one middle section normally. Now it has three. Also, it has tan stripes. Not anymore. And finally, it had a rounded front market with steps going in. The shop front is no longer round, and the steps have a new purpose in life. We decided to elevate the floor to match the doorway, and by doing so we eliminate the need for steps going in and out, and plus it now looks so much better.

All links go to photos I have taken across four days of hard labor. Bolded are the modification photos, not the originals.

And finally, the photo you've all been waiting for.

That's the final product. And that's only STAGE ONE. Stage two begins soon.

I doubt I'll be able to post it here again unless I go premier, so keep an eye on the Folder (when public) and I'll try to update on BS01 or something.

Aside from that? It's my first project, and I love it.

The same exhibit I blogged about back in the summer that went to West Palm Beach, FL in the Norton Museum of Art is now in the EMP Museum in Seattle, WA. Build by Dan Parker and his crew at TbP Group in Tacoma, WA (of which I am the shop foreman of) it features 10 skyscrapers of various sizes and colors, from across the world.

The models include One World Trade Center, the Hearst Building and the Fuller Flatiron from New York City, the Space Needle from Seattle, Willis Tower from Chicago, and more. There is also a build area set up near the models for kids to play and build their own skyscrapers to add to the EMP's Mini Megalopolis.

I will personally say I was looking forward to this one being built up for months now. The 10 models are in the home state they were created in, on display in a beautiful building, and I was given the opportunity to set them up myself. I am particularly proud of my Taipei 101 model, which was designed by both Dan and me.

I hope to have a gallery of photos to share soon with everyone.

Here is the official reason why:

My server space is at 86% full. I need to find a way to cut it down. Adding to the database would not help.

It's getting to the point where I may have to dump old image revisions again.

So yeah, please respect my wishes as to why I don't want Wiki War 2.

Back in early November 2011, Xccj and I discussed in detail the idea of building the island of Mata Nui in system brick. We debated many times over how we could do it, eventually deciding on how to do it and where to get the material.

That's when I told my boss Dan Parker.

On March 12th through the 16th, we finally build it. And you're all invited to help : D

Basically, if you live in the Pacific Northwest, able to travel to Tacoma, and want to help out building a system-based island, please feel free to join us and help out. You're not expected to show up every day, I assure you. At first I expected 18+ but at this point we're really desperate for builders, so I'll take what I can get XD

I'm also planning, if you come to assist building, to allow you to sign index cards so I can scan them into a computer and give credit to all builders involved. If you identify as a BZPower member directly, you can get an extra space for a bonus message for anything (WITHIN BZPOWER GUIDELINES) you wish to say. Think of it like a famous-social-media-site's wall function, only related to BZPower.

Now, this may sound unfair to those members who cannot attend. That's why we also plan to collect messages at Bricks Cascade and BrickCon as well, however they will not be posted with the builders' credit.

So yeah, feel free to attend! Send me a PM or email me at swertmastra (at) gmail.com and then I can direct you to the studio with an address and directions from I-5. Our times will be roughly 10 AM to 4 PM, with extensions of hours to be determined day-by-day.

I hope everybody who can come are able to.

    Go Seahawks!

"But Swert, Seattle didn't make it to the playoffs!"

    Who cares?

    "We do."

    Fine... GO 2012 SEASON!
