However, LEGO and Funcom recently announced an agreement to develop a new massively multiplayer online game based on the LEGO Minifigures line.   4. The persistent Gatanui has made a startling discovery; the summer wave of Hero Factory sets can now be ordered online here. Of course, there are some limitations: namely, they're only available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. While this still leaves a lot of us empty-handed, it gives us hope that the sets will reach local store shelves soon.   10. LEGO has opened a new LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Tokyo, Japan, this past weekend, opening 'the first LEGO attraction in Asia,' says LEGO's G+ page.   13. Christian Faber has updated his blog in recent weeks with various examples of Bionicle concept art. The most recent posts feature preliminary images of Voya Nui and Mahri Nui, accompanied as always by Mr. Faber's own comments. Interestingly, one image of Voya Nui reveals more of the island's subterranean structure, which houses the Mask of Life. Other recent updates include cover art for the Bionicle Heroes video game and logo, as well as a "Final Showdown" concept poster exemplifying the final arc of the 2008 Bionicle storyline.   14. Three more Lego Stores will be popping up around the US in the coming days. A Lego Store in Elizabeth, New Jersey will be opening on June 15. This will be followed by stores in Lynnwood, Washington and Alpharetta, Georgia, opening on June 22 and June 29 respectively.   15. The dual Library Summer Olympics topics have been unveiled in Comedies and COT, the beginning of the multi-faceted writing competition that will span much of the summer. Like the recent Flash Fiction bonanza, the Summer Olympics are run simultaneously in Completely Off Topic and the Bionicle Library forums, and are open to writers of all proficiencies. The Flash Fiction Marathon saw almost shocking success, drawing 279 entries in about two weeks from a multitude of authors, but it's not quite over yet. For the contest to function properly and come to a satisfactory conclusion, votes must be cast! If you have a few minutes, show your appreciation and give your two cents on which talented keyboard pounder should bring home the prizes in the Bionicle (first of two) tier of the Flash Fiction Marathon Final Polls!View the full article
  16. You knew it was coming, and since it's a pretty bi-monthly thing, you knew there'd be an article about it any day now: The newest issue of the Lego magazine has begun appearing in mailboxes. It's got a several neat contests with $100 gift card prizes, obligatory promotion of the new line of summer sets, comics, some small games and trivia, and quite a bit more!   17. This weekend at US LEGOLAND parks, the LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes video game will be available for early play. Along with trying out the game, the theme park will have contests and a scavenger hunt for the Super Hero line.   20. As we reported last month, LEGO released the Star Wars Battle Orders iOS app on iTunes. Well, now you can play it as a Unity3D game on the LEGO Star Wars website.   21. Bricks Cascade recently concluded, and Oregon Public Broadcasting was on the scene to do some coverage. It informs us that, according to the survey conducted by the Reputation Institute, LEGO is the tenth most reputable brand/company in the world.   23. Reiman Gardens, a park that serves as the entrance to Iowa State University, is now hosting a menagerie of giant Lego sculptures constructed by Certified Lego Builder Sean Kenney and his team. It's been several years since a non-licensed Lego theme has made it to the ever-growing world of console gaming, so for those of you overwhelmed by the assortment of games based on popular franchises, Lego City: Undercover is here at last! The games revolves around the protagonist, Chase McCain, tracking down Rex Fury, a criminal perpetrating crimes across the city. It has been announced as a Wii U exclusive, and it may be worth looking into if you've found yourself thinking the line of Lego video games has strayed too far from its roots.
