  1. I'm frantically trying to find someone who is willing to part with one of the older legends. If I can get one, then I'll be able to barter for the others on the GTS for the sake of pokedex completion, until pokébank opens again. Keyword being "willing", though. Even the people who clone their legends will mostly just trade for shiny 5 IV 'mons. Bleh. 5 IVs I can do, 5 IV shinies, no. The legends will be incredibly common eventually, not worth it.
  2. Out of the starters, only missing Turtwig now. Gamefreak releasing the bank early in Japan was a god send, considering Nintendo's entire network is having issues at the moment. Planning on completing as much of the pokédex as possible for the shiny charm so I can start masudaing for a shiny Cyndaquil and Eevee pretty quick. ...whenever I can tear myself away from A Link Between Worlds, anyway having a lot of fun with it. Edit: Bank has been disabled in Japan, postponed worldwide D:
  3. I've got some pokémon prepared to wonder trade. Going to wait a few hours for the unobtainables to spread a bit more before trying my luck. Tried the GTS, but every reasonable offer gave me the message "Pokémon has already been traded". Thankfully it still gives views of the models, though.
  4. While males can pass down HA, its a major pain to breed if the female doesn't have HA. The game is always biased towards inheriting the females ability.
  5. Using a team of all legends is rather pointless if the player doesn't know how best to use them. The overconfidence they have is staggering. Check out this guy who challenged me on PSS with just a Mewtwo: C2VW-WWWW-WWW3-ZQDT That said, once pokébank comes I feel like running around on Free Battle with a scarfed Kyurem. I've got a thing for ice dragons, but don't like using legends in direct challenges. At least on Free Battles there are already tons of legend users, so theres no need to worry about annoying someone with it.
  6. Speaking of Mamoswine, I've been preparing one the past two days. Would have finished it a lot faster, but for some reason partway through the breeding process Icicle Crash stopped getting passed down, and I didn't realise it until after I had EV trained and evolved the first Swinub I had made and wonder traded all the other Swinubs away. Ended up breeding a 5 IV Smeargle to sketch Icicle Crash to bring it back into the gene pool. Good thing I didn't get attached to it yet. That Smeargle should be useful for the future, too.
  7. Nintendo Direct has announced that there will be a Celebi giveaway on Pokébank. Edit: So purty http://www.serebii.net/celebixy.jpg
  8. Well...its a nuzlocke. If you want to use him, you're going to have to end the challenge. That said, its your personal challenge. If you want to bend the rules a little, its up to you.
  9. I've got a japanese Froakie floating around somewhere in my boxes. No HP IV, but the rest are fine. I'll pm you in a few minutes.
  10. Man my luck on Battlespot Doubles the past few days has been utterly horrible. Not once, not twice, but three times protect users have gotten off protect twice in a row where otherwise I would have one (though in that third case at least they were weakened enough it didn't matter), along with a Meowstic that got Quick Guard twice in a row. Not to mention the incredible amount of crits my opponents have been getting (I've started counting, its over 20 cumulative at this point) compared to the measly one or two crits I've gotten. Seriously, its as if the multiplayer servers suddenly grew an intense hatred for me, when all I want to do is get past 1600 :/ Also, the very moment I stop using my Trick Room team, the game starts throwing every Trick Room user under the sun at me. Urgh... Edit: Now a venusaur gets three sleep powders in a row on me :/ 75% accuracy my bum.
  11. How many shinies have you gotten so far this gen, guys? I'm loving these increased rates. Enough so its not impossible, but still low enough that its a nice surprise when you get one. So far I've gotten a shiny Fletchling (caught in Santalune), shiny Ditto (friend safari, imposter+hp IV), shiny Ralts (hatched randomly, only inherited two IVs, but I still use it), my second shiny Psyduck (horde battle, traded it for a shiny Noctowl), and shiny Charmander (hatched, one of the parents happened to be japanese, inherited 3 perfect IVs). Got Pokémon Colosseum today as a gift along with a secondhand gamecube controller, no memory card though. Going to have to hunt one down, but there are 2 good shops I know of in town that I may be able to pick one up in (one of which could have a GCN-GBA cable if I'm lucky).
  12. Oh, god it must have been so annoying to kill the spares o_o never have I seen a thing be both so lucky AND unlucky at the same time. Now that rated battles are back, I've gone back to using a trick room team in doubles. Tried it in free battles for awhile, but Slowbro didn't operate too well with all the legends runnning about
  13. Mandibuzz has terrible offenses (foul play is the only thing it can realy use offensively), but enough bulk that being a defog user wouldn't be a bad role to play. Shame about the stealth rock weakness, but there aren't exactly many defog users without it.Edit: Man, I'm slow at making a post o_o

  15. Apparently the methods used to develop Instacheck have now been applied to WiFi battles. You can now see very pokemon, move, EVs/IVs your opponent has. You can also see what move they're going to use next due to the way packets deal with online battles. So, now this can either go two ways: One, online battles are potentially ruined because people will be running this program all over the place. Or, two: Gamefreak gets their ###### together and encrypts their signals. However, this will likely apply to all their signals, which will render Instacheck utterly crippled.Edit: REALLY, BZPOWER? I can't say THAT word? I intentionally used the non-vulgar version so this wouldn't happen :/
  16. So...I started the Riolu Masuda project. One of the Riolus hatched with 6 perfect IVs....Neither of the parents had a perfect Sp.Atk IV o_o the odds of this are so crazy I almost don't want to hatch a shiny one anymore XD
  17. Masuda Method is where you breed two pokémon from different region games, like a european Axew with a japanese Ditto. Increases the odds of hatching a shiny. Not sure on the specifics of shiny values, but its something to do with matching a value of an egg with a value tied to a trainer. Can't be seen without using special programs, though, and theres potential to get scammed out of your egg if the person who hatches it for you won't give it back
  18. On the subject of the Masuda Method, I got a japanese Riolu from wondertrade with 4 perfect IVs. Considering Masuda-ing a shiny Riolu with it, but Riolus are such a hassle to breed...and the last time (well, only time) I've hatched a shiny, it only inherited two IVs of the 8 perfect ones the parents shared (still use it for battle, though). Not sure whether it'd be worth the time investment to do it intentionally this time.
  19. TKVW-WWWW-WWW3-33BHFinally got 50 wins at the Battle Maison. In the end, I won due to pure luck (did NOT know Hurricane could cause confusion) but I'm not complaining, its finally over XDUsed Mega Scizor, Garchomp and Vaporeon to get the first 49 wins. Bred that Greninja in the video specifically to use against Nita, only two perfect IVs (sp. atk and speed) but thats all it needed. Also tweaked my Aegislash's moveset specifically to use against her Tornadus, due to it having immunity to Focus Blast and resistance to Hurricane. Again, didn't know Hurricane could cause confusion, which utterly destroyed that strategy, but thankfully luck was on my side.
  20. ...I only just discovered now that Garchomp only gets Outrage as an egg move.*Screams internally*
  21. Congratulations, Whiplash Destiny Knot truly feels like the greatest thing this gen. What are some of your favourite nicknames that you've given to your pokémon? Bred a Gible yesterday, it was female, so I named it Candy Gram. The reference isn't that funny, but it makes me laugh like crazy anyway. Named my shiny Gardevoir Miku Hatsune, kind of sad I can't give it Hyper Voice. Maybe later this gen if they decide to bring it back with a tutor. Named the Vaporeon I went through the main story Rapture, after the city in Bioshock. The Vaporeon I use now is called Poseidon, though. Didn't want to give two 'mons the same name. Scizor is Death Scythe, since I just recently watched Soul Eater during the Halloween break. Briefly considered naming him Witch Hunter instead, though.Got a Kyurem back in gen 5 named ColdFusion. Zekrom is Alduin, naturally. Typhlosion is named Brisingr, despite the fact I've never even finished the first book in the Inheritance Cycle (some day...some day...). Swampert is Swampthang and Chandelure is CandleJack.Edit: I have trouble narrowing down favourites...
  22. Have you guys noticed that blue pentagon on the pokémons status screen, near the markings?Supposedly, its function has been found. Its a hack check. If the pokémon has this symbol, then its legit by the Pokémon Company's standards.
  23. S5TW-WWWW-WWW2-QVTZ^ I hate Breloom. So, so dang much. Thought I was finally done with it after giving up battling in the 5th gen meta on Pokémon Showdown, but nope, Battle Maison knows exactly how to get me raging. And then, several battles after this triumph...my 46 battle win streak was broken by a Fissure using Walrein. Screw the Battle Maison. Not going back there for a very, very long time.
  24. Happy Birthday our weapon of not-so-mass-destruction!
