I will not be entering, due mainly to the fact that I simply have not had time to build something really good, and no mind-blowing ideas came to me to begin with. Sad, yes, but you can't enter them all. There are some really amazing entries this time around; stuff which I would have no hope of competing with. I sorta built a Han Solo, but there wasn't anything innovative about him really... BBCC's just don't hold the weight with me as they used to (I'm growing up I guess) I am looking forward to the voting process though.

In other MoCing news my Fusion Project is very close to completion and once it's done a college friend of mine who is a Photography major (I think) has agreed to do professional photography of the model in an actual studio setting (which will be SO much better than my set-up at home). I look forward to showing him to you guys.

So... yeah. Life is good, school is busy (but good), and I'm glad the weekend's here. I can't wait for LEGO Universe to be released but in the mean-time I do believe I'm going to go back to some of my old PC games to crack back open (i.e. Star Wars: Republic Commando)

I don't have much time to give my thoughts, but I can summarize. The movie was EPIC and AWESOME to say the least, especially regarding the whole Pandora world. I absolutely loved all of the fictional creatures and I found myself ogling at the various glowing plants, strange lizards which fly by spinning their wings in a rapid canopy above them, awesome six legged horses, and floating mountains among other things.

The story over-all was solid, even though you knew what was going to happen pretty much from the get-go. I love stories of the under dogs beating up on the big bad guys with the advanced weapons and technology. The characters were cool, and I really liked it how the band of half a dozen or so "went rogue" so to speak and rebelled against the military to help out the Na'vi. My favorite was the female helicopter pilot (forgot her name) who went into battle at the end in war paint like the Na'vi and even painted her ship to match! Speaking of the finale, it was climactic and epic; I liked it how there was a combination of large scale battle but also one-on-one there at the very end.

So, yeah. Awesome movie; I definitely wouldn't mind seeing it again. Of course, it definitely had it's downsides (language being the main one), but there were positive things about it too (aside from the epic factor). I was hesitant to see it the first time, but I must say, I loved it!

I still would like to know any thoughts you guys have on my current project!
@ staff: this is not a comments drive; I simply want to know what my fellow MoCists have to say on the topic.
Since I posted this last week, I have fixed the lower legs so that they integrate more technic, and I think I've got a good upper leg design.I still need to change the arm cannon and add a head. The back isn't done yet either. We're getting close!
(all of that ^^^ in response to the first comments)

Please forgive the picture quality. They are WIP pix after all.

    Ok, so here he is:

As I have mentioned before, he was inspired by DV's Transtech Shockwave.
All comments and criticisms are welcome (though preferably constructive).
    So... thoughts?

Also: Name change! (sorry CF, I just wanted to try something new )

Well, this afternoon I got Turaga Starz Taka on impulse. I was actually looking to see if they had any Atlantis sets yet (I had no idea when they were being released). They did not, and I moseyed on down to the BIONICLE section and saw the starz sets just sitting there as happy as could be. My eyes fell on Taka, and it occured to me that he was white and my current MoC project is white themed as well. Upon inspecting the included pieces, I came to the conclusion that the purchasing of said set could be advantageous to said MoCing project. Thus... I got him, mainly for the white shoulder armor, new feet (thank goodness for those axle holes on their underside), and the new intriguing chest piece.

Besides the new pieces, he's basically... an Avtoran who has stolen Taka's mask (how dare he?!). This kinda makes a good Turaga Taka, but not a Nuva re-make. I don't want to repeat what everyone else has said though, so I'll stop there.
I can tell you one thing, he'll be busted quite soon.

    Name change to that? ^^^
    Thoughts?

Also, Project Fusion is progressing very well. I do believe that the torso and arms are for the most part complete and I just need to duplicate the lower left leg and foot for the right side and then come up with a fluid upper leg design that is better than the current one. Still no idea when it'll be done though, much less pictures be taken. I'm considering doing WIP pics soon. If I get enough requests I probably will.

Whoops. I totally did not mean to lock this.

I was looking at the new Atlantis site, and I found this set. It looks like it has some really good MoCing pieces in many different varieties. I won't be able to get it any time soon, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

What is this Project Fusion I speak of, you ask? Well, as a few of you know, at the end of last summer I made a large parts order and planned on using it on a humanoid robot, my inspiration being DV's Transtech Shockwave. My goal in building this MoC has been to expand my building experience into the fusion world (I think I may have overdone it on the lower legs though :/ ), and build a sweet robot fellow at the same time. Thus, the personally dubbed "Project Fusion" (for lack of a better name).

Color scheme is white with dark red as a secondary color. Prior to the break I had the "foot" (which is actually a wheel) and a lower leg finished. Over the break I built a completely custom torso which I am extremely happy with. I have a good idea for a head, and I now have a preliminary arm done. In addition, I've mostly completed the leg design (it needs tweaking though). I'm sorry, but I don't have WIP pictures taken and I don't plan on it anytime soon. My break is over now, and I am going to let my LEGO building rest for a week or so; I get a better boost of creativity afterwords, it seems, if I rest for a bit.
Personally, I think he's looking quite good, but I'll leave you guys to pass judgment when I finish him.

Also, I need a good name for him. Got any ideas?

In real life (lol) I had a wonderful break; it was both restful and productive. I finished reading Ted Dekker's Lost Books series (awesome author btw; I would highly recommend his Circle Trilogy), and I finished Metroid Prime 3 (which I loved). My non-profit met it's goal of 24k for three wells in Sudan, so I had a great break overall!

Well, today I'm on the member spotlight for the second time (that I recall) since joining. Heh, I need to update that pretty badly...
Also: lol. I deserve what, exactly?
In MoCing news, my latest project is coming along splendidly. Yessss....

    Yay: new sets for MoCing!
I don't own Malum, and Pridak's white pieces should come in handy with my upcoming MoC project. I'm excited, because it's white and dark red, which Malum and Pridak happen to be... Thanks Steve Witt for the sets!

Thanks again to the staffies for hosting the contest, and congrats to all of the other winners.
Oh, and thanks to all who voted for me; I had no idea I would get this far...
lol, and to think I wasn't being all that serious when I entered.

All in all, I am very pleased with the results and I had a great time with the contest.
I am going to see if 55555 would like to trade Krika for my Gorast though (more white, you see).

    Until BBCC #57!

Ok, so I was wondering what you guys thought to changing my name to Samus Aran. Sure, I know that she's a her and I'm a him, but I love her series and character. I know that GreenBioGuy is unique and more... Bioniclish, but I thought it'd be cool to be known as a video game character. Or do you think that I'm already known as GBG the way it is? The thing is, DV named himself after a famous movie character, but on the flip side awesome guys like Blue Diamond and Shan came up with completely unique names for themselves. Note that my aim has never to become a "famous" MoCists by any means, and I'm not trying to attach a name to that. But the thing is, I haven't changed my name once since I joined up here, except for at the beginning when I went from greenbionicleguy to ~GreenBioGuy~. Not that big of a difference. I think it'd be kinda epic, and I could also imprint a faint form of Samus' helmet into my MoC images (like DV does with his photos).

    Thoughts?

Also, I had the inspiration to build MoC after this guy:

    It's Ghor from Prime 3.

He looks very Bioniclish, to be sure. Thoughts there?
I'll have to wait until after my current project (which resumes tomorrow, btw), but I like to think ahead.

    Oh YES.

I got the Metriod Prime Trilogy a few days ago as sortof an early Christmas present for the break (we start break two weeks before Christmas, so I wanted to have it in enough time to really enjoy it over the break).
I started MP3 today; it's pretty sweet with the new Wii controls! I love it how Retro Studios integrated so many motion sensitive actions into the game. Also, the whole beginning sequence was epic awesome and tense with Ridley (I killed him with like... 3 seconds to spare), and then of course the part with the meteorite incoming with Samus saving the day! And now of course she's all decked out in her new PED suit for some Space Pirate smashing fun! B)

Heh, and we've just gotten a brand new 42" Plasma Screen TV, so the Prime experience has been really sweet! lol, my parents got our old analogue TV like 20 years ago, so we were in need of an upgrade.

I look forward to playing back through MP 1 and 2 as well...

Are there any other Metroid fans out there?
Also, as you can see, I've changed my avatar now to something a little more... suiting. Pardon the pun.

Whoopdy-do and all that good stuff for placing 2nd! Yay!
My, I had absolutely no expectations to make it as far as I did in BBCC #56; I am pleasantly surprised. Thanks everyone who voted for me!

Also, I'm not a bit surprised at the results; I knew that 55555's motorcycle was going to win the first time I saw it, not to mention I feel that he deserved it.

lol, I'm glad to have gotten the place I did; in all of the past contests when I've placed in the finals, I've gotten 5th! (I was considering that if it happened again I would re-name myself Mr. 5th)

Now to wait and see what the prizes will be...

Yeeaaaah.... It says that there are 96 total votes, but the votes only add up to 31!

You see, after Smeagol4 re-opened the polls the other day, I noticed that all of the votes in my poll had been deleted. I have no idea why, but this didn't happen with the other polls. Strange, no? I'm still winning, so I'm not upset about my standings in the contest, but I am annoyed for the sake of the other entrants; Ballom was in the process of catching up with 16 votes (I had 22). I guess it can't be fixed, but I wish something could be done about it...

Thanks for getting the polls back up none-the-less Smeag!

Good luck to everyone in the contest!

Ok, so I just got reprimanded several times over in the polls for calling some of the other MoCs rip-offs. This was not the best or nicest of behavior and thus once I had this pointed out to me I apologized and edited my posts. I just wasn't thinking properly when I posted. Live and learn my friends, live and learn.

What I find ironic is the fact that in the past I have defended other MoCists for creating what appears to be a copy of some technique or MoC of another MoCist based on this principal: the fact is that with the vast number of MoCists out there, there is bound to come a time when two completely separate MoCists will create a very similar (if not same) design in their MoC. Indeed, there are four or so "DNA" models for this contest, but only two of them are very (very) similar: Nuju Metru's and Bariakk: Magnan Masterner's. As Bariakk stated in a post in the topic (which I missed before posting my thoughts, btw), he thought of the "molecule" idea even before Nuju posted his. I really had no way to prove that Bariakk ripped Nuju off, and for this I apologize personally to Bariakk and whoever built that "S.A.A.P.P." MoC for accusing them of such.

I just thought I'd take this blog entry to both apologize and to point out that yes, on second thought people can make a very similar design without ripping each other off.

    ....................

    Well hi Guyz!

My, it's been so long, I don't quite know what to say... BBCC Entry perhaps?

Basically, I just popped on BZPower last Thursday out of curiosity (because I hadn't been on in a good while) and checked the BBC Forum for a contest. Sure enough, #56 was under way and I found the theme intriguing. I checked the deadline, and found out that (what-do-ya-know) it was three days away. I dropped the subject mentally and went on my way. Well, on Friday I got sick (nasty sick, I won't go into it), so I had a whole bunch of spare time on Saturday (and low energy too) which motivated me to try a doodle MoC for the contest. I actually had the "railing" for this thing already built; I was originally going to make some sort of serpent-like beast out of it. I then got the roller coaster idea, added a bunch of red and blue pins, build the cars, and added the supports. It's not overly complicated, but I thought I'd enter for the fun of it. And hey, who says an entry has to be overly complicated to get far (or for that matter, it doesn't have to be a huge beast or an awesome looking humanoid). I'd love your thoughts (no matter how small) on my latest doodle.

As to my other project, it's kinda got the pause button pushed on it at the moment; Come Christmas-time I'm sure I'll pick it back up again. I find it amusing that this is exactly what happened last year with Skotraxx; I started in the summer, finished in January. As I think I've said before, my BZPower interest comes and goes in waves. I have two technological interests that take up a fair amount of time, and I can't do both simultaneously: BZPower/BIONICLE and video games. When I get bored with one, I switch to the other. School and LIFE also play a huge roll in limiting my time here (I'm sure that many of you know what I mean). All this to say, I still love BZPower, I just haven't had the time lately to build and thus not the time to enjoy the site. I have no idea when I'll be back on in earnest, but for now you can count on my presence during the contest period.

I have now been sent reply notifications to three topics which I have never laid eyes on, much less subscribed to. Here's the latest one: Something about sharpies

Why am I randomly being subscribed to topics?
  17. GreenBioGuy
    Very, very, busy.

Two things: School, and my non-profit "Dollar for a Drink" are taking up all of my time. I built a bit with LEGO last weekend (I think.....) and it's coming fine. I don't think I'll have anything built ANY time soon though. School is going great; I'm really enjoying Greek especially.

Meh, I haven't blogged in so long, I don't know what to say. I haven't really been keeping up with BZP much this past week. Sure, I've seen the BrickFair coverage, as well as the fact that BBCC #55 is up. I'm at a very low point in terms of BZP/Bionicle interest. So don't expect much of me. I'm fading... fading... fading...

But don't worry, I'm sure I'll pop back in sometime!

    For Bink's contest?

The philosophical square root of Black Six's right toe is less than the absolute value of Tufi minus ToM in addition to the hierarchical overruling awesomeness that is purple cacti. Add the resulting factors of the prior equation to the cube root of Niki and a brown frog is born in a barn on the peak of mt. Everest. Subtract the sum of 64 and Wii to find the unknownable common factor of the White Seven and solve the problem of moldy cheese to achieve world domination. The third book page of the Hungarian guide to French cooking is the cause of all green trees in Alaska. Also, forget not to never have any neither sauce in neverland; hurts all pink kittehs it does. LEGO squared is Binkmeister. You. pack. tongue-loads. of. ubberness. Hurt not red cars, for upset the balance of the force, it will not until the 56th or Greenember in the year -873.

    Total Parts Count: 407
    Total Cost (including shipping): $60.80

Sorry for the poor lighting in this last one... :S

Oh, and don't forget that I have this guy to pull parts from too!

Now, I'd love to know what you think! How did I do in what I chose, and the quantities thereof? How about the price (for those of you experienced in these matters)?

Now to work on my first mecha/fusion attempt! Yay!

Great sunspots! The forums have returned! I was beginning to think the beast that is the forums had died... But I guess the all powerful staffies came along and revived it! Thanks guys!

Now, in my time away I have had a birthday. My 17th in fact. As a result, I got a bunch of money, and as a result of that I placed my largest parts order (or combination of orders) yet: $50+, 400+ pieces. I've received one of them, but the other two are still in the process of shipping. I made sure to buy plenty of system (at least half of it I think) DV, I'm wanting to seriously delve into fusion building. I'm pumped! Speaking of pumping, I got an airsoft gun and the accompanying paraphernalia too!

*Edit*: I forgot to mention that I also got Super Mario Galaxy for my b-day too! It's a pretty sweet game (the super awesomeness factor really comes from the creativity of the levels themselves). Sadly though, I felt that it played too quickly; My sister and I had beaten the final Bowser just after one week! Of course, it helped that she was doing co-op, so that might have had something to do with it... Regardless, We have 106/120 stars at the moment, and I highly recommend the game (providing you are a Mario fan of course!)

I can't say how active I will be (not very much I am sure) but I'll still hang around; it's good to have the forums/blogs back online! I'll be sure to post up when I build something... not sure how long that will be though.

Anywhoo, just thought I'd say howdy!
