  1. OOC: It is proving difficult to get back into the groove of regularly posting in RPGs

    IC: XPlode - With HeRotor

"Patience," he said to Thak soothingly. "We'll deal with that soon enough."

    ~

    IC: Big Brute - Fighting

She stumbled back, surprised at the strength of the push.

    ~

    IC: Small Pirate - Running

He gave a yelp and tried to sprint faster from the fiery Hero menace running after him.

    ~

    IC: Sprocket - With Stormer

Sprocket gave a shuddering gasp and turned away, hand over his mouth.

  2. OOC: Another big apology is in order. I had to disappear to write my thesis. Also, I have no idea what Stringer's gun is meant to be doing with playing an mp3 so I'm going to assume it's a sonic blast.

    IC: Big Thug

She grunted from the kick to the shin, and from a few shots from the plasma launcher. At such close range, the Hero fighting her was likely going to be hit, too. She swung at the Hero before her with her twin cutlasses for good measure.

    IC: Little Thug

The sonic blast sent him flying further down the hallway. He groaned, but slowly crawled to his feet and resumed his retreat, albeit with a pronounced limp.

    IC: Sprocket - With Stormer

"But he could be okay, right?" Sprocket asked anxiously.

IC: Gyro and XPlode - Also Here, Somewhere

Gyro gave a start as Stormer's text bleeped onto his HUD. He hurriedly hid it again, but XPlode had noticed his reaction.

    "Something wrong, Rotor?" Xplode asked.

"Uh, nah, nothin'," said Gyro, trying to sound nonchalant. "Jus' got a flag from somethin' I thought I turned off, that's all."

    "Hmm. What would that be?"

    Gyro raked his processor.

"Messages, but uh, think this one was automated."

    "How strange."

  3. OOC: Another big sorry to Click, this time around it was because I was writing my thesis.

    IC: Kororia - Library

"But we gotta do our homework!" she tugged on Tear's hand. "Or we'll get in trouble!"

  4. OOC: I've been off writing my thesis, so this is very sad news to come back to. :c

    IC: Armani - Near Tower

Armani tapped her companion on the shoulder. "I believe your friend is trying to get your attention."

    IC: Matilda - Home

Matilda was startled awake by the sound of little paws padding at speed down a ladder. She got to her door in time to see a tail disappear around the doorframe.

"GARUDA!" she shouted, even as she grabbed a jacket and pulled on her boots in her stumble out the door. "Get back here! You're in your pyjamas, for goodness' sake!"

Briefly, as she ran outside, she wondered if this was what being a parent was like. No, surely not. She was sure she didn't cause her own father this much trouble.

  5. OOC: I have no idea how I somehow missed posting here for several weeks. I try to make it once a week at the very, very least, even if I'm super busy

Anyway I don't think it would upset Big Thug's throw that much for Flames to be burning, because she's doing it very quickly, but because of the massive delay I've caused I'm letting it slide.

    IC: Thugs

"Bloomin' cheat!" the larger one snarled, waving her burned hand to cool it off as she went for her laser pistol with her sole unoccupied hand. She crossed her cutlasses to take the brunt of Bliss' blow, and responded with a volley from her laser pistol at the Heroes.

Stringer, as there was no thug going for the melted and thoroughly destroyed intercom, managed to really mess the melted husk of the intercom up. Worse than it was, even. The smaller thug, having rolled out of the way prior, scrambled down the hallway.

IC: Tony Sprocket - With Stormer

"I... I dunno. I only saw Ol' Lockey running towards the noise, he's the head of security. He was in his room, I think, which meant he wasn't on shift. He wouldn't be in there if he was meant to be working, and I think I heard his door close when I was running for mine..."

  6. OOC: Big apology to Click, who has had to wait for my reply for ages at least twice now

    IC: Kororia - Library

"Aw. Ooh, do you think they'd let us use the kitchen, though? I'm really good at-"

"Students are to gather in the Gym for an assignment."

Kororia turned, eyes wide, and bounced on her heels in excitement as the Porter rolled by. She asked her friend, "Is that a teacher? Ooh, my first assignment! I hope it's art, or maybe even science! I like science homework!"

  7. OOC: Sorry about the major lag in posts. Have been very busy and very tired. Still am, but I'm posting anyway.

    IC: Kororia - With Friends

She grinned. "Refectory? Like a food place? Do we all cook for each other??? I love making food! Dad says I make the best sammiches... But, he eats them kind of weird..."

  8. OOC: I'm still alive, just very busy and tired.

IC: Two Thugs - The Starwhale

The smaller thug cursed and ducked, the volley of plasma melting the intercom he was going for. As he rolled out of the way, the bigger one made a grab for Flames. If she was successful, she would throw Flames at Bliss in one smooth motion.

    ~

IC: Tony Sprocket - With Stormer

Sprocket ducked his head. "Well, um, not much, actually. I heard a commotion and hid out in my room. I'm not really built for dealing with that kind of thing, see. I thought the security team would take care of it..."

  9. IC: Tony Sprocket - With Stormer

Tony nodded and scampered to Stormer. Shyly, he cleared his throat. "Um, one of the other Heroes said to tell you what happened...?"

    ~

    IC: Two Thugs

The Heroes would find themselves face to face with two pirates. One, the taller of the two, had two pairs of arms folded across their chest, and cutlasses on their belt alongside a laser pistol. The other was nervously fiddling with the hilt of their dagger. At the sight of the Heroes, both jumped.

The bigger one grinned. "Awrgh, finally! C'mere!"

Two of their arms grabbed cutlasses, the other two gestured for the Heroes to bring it on. The smaller skittered for the ship's intercom, on the wall nearby.

  10. OOC: Sorry about my repeated on-and-off presence! I've been very busy and tired.

IC: Armani - Near the Tower

"To stick a stay," Armani mused thoughtfully, smiling. "I've never heard that particular phrase before, pilot! But it's very charming."

She paused at the bulletin board as they passed, reading it thoughtfully. She was interested in the quest, and of course she wanted to assist her people, but her current task came first. She turned back to her companion.

    IC: Rorohiko - Oh No

Buried in the depths of his home, Rorohiko was only dimly aware of the soft thunk of his mail chute. It took him a few minutes to realise he would have to look at it. He wandered over from his desk, absently scratching at his forearm, and picked it up, wondering what it could be. Did the Council want to know about his progress? Did someone have something for him to look at?

    His eyes went wide.

His hands shook, violently enough that he almost tore the letter in half.

    No.

    No, no, no, no!

This was his fault, wasn't it? Did he start a war?! All to save one person, who was a criminal anyway?! His breath was short and laboured as he slammed the letter onto his desk, clutching his chest with his other hand. He didn't have a choice. He would have gotten free by himself, anyway. This wasn't his fault. Was it?

  11. OOC: Eugh, I keep getting busy and tired out and sidetracked and forgetting to do things, sorry. I'm back again.

IC: Tony Sprocket - Being Led To Safety

"Huh?" Sprocket blinked, having been lost in thought. "Oh, uh, if you go up this corridor, the bridge is that way. But, um, are you sure you guys can take them? I mean, you're Heroes and all, but... I mean, I think there were a lot of them... maybe... or maybe it was just really loud...?"

IC: Timothy Gyro and XPlode - Haven't Checked On The Villains For A While

"Well," said XPlode, glancing between the villains. "I suppose we'd best start searching the place, eh? You can come along with me, Rotor."

"Uh, sure. Yeah." Gyro tried to mask his hesitation as he followed XPlode down the hallway.

IC: Bliss - Probably About To Make Friends

Ahead, Bliss could probably hear two growling voices.

"It ain't fair!" one groused. "Ain't nothin' to do here."

"Y'could go help count th'stock," said the other.

"I don't wanna count it! I wanna smash some heads!"

  12. IC: Tony Sprocket - Sprocket's Room

Sprocket awkwardly climbed out of the storage cabinet, and glanced around his room. "... Do I pack, or...? Sorry, I don't know much about this sort of thing..."

  13. IC: Rorohiko - Homeward Bound

He barely felt the ship land, engrossed as he was in his work. He climbed unsteadily to his feet, walking out with his mask buried in his device, determinedly not looking in the direction of the cargo bay. He kept his head down and stepped off with a mumble of thanks to the guards and to Xaril.

He made sure he didn't look up, didn't see anything out of the ordinary. He was just going to head home and get back to work.

    IC: Matilda - ???

It was a presence she knew, long ago

    She remembered the voice

"Do you think it was me, or you?"

    She knew it wasn't her

"Are you sure? We're both lost."

Sparks and fire exploded from a wound long closed and webbed over in ugly scar tissue

    Maybe she wasn't so sure

IC: Matilda - Matilda's Residence, Tesara

This nightmare didn't startle her so much as it caused dread to creep over her as she came back to consciousness. She took a deep, shuddering breath, reaching for her medicine. She'd probably have to get more soon, by the feel of the bottle. She took the tablets and waited a few minutes before trying to sit up.

She was cold. Her blanket was tiny. Why? It took her a moment to remember: Garuda's new friend. She couldn't hear anything from Garuda's room, meaning she wasn't awake yet, which in turn meant Matilda didn't have to get up. She promptly flopped back down, curling up as best she could under the blanket. Morning could wait.

  14. IC: Tony Sprocket - Sprocket's Room

"Well..." he looked uncomfortable. "I dunno, I mean... All my friends are on board, you know. It wouldn't feel right to leave hem, but..."

  15. IC: Tony Sprocket - Sprocket's Room

"Lockey's our head of security. He's a couple doors down from my quarters. He's kind of stuffy and his taste in movies is pretty lame, but he's kept us safe... so far..."

To Shard, he said, "I think... I think I saw some of them, actually. Not much, I was running away, but when I ran into Lockey I looked back to say sorry and there was someone there I didn't know. I didn't see them long, just for a second. They were big, and they looked like they meant business."

OOC: To be clear, you've been in Lockey's room before. The room you went in before this one belonged to Lochlan Keye. "Lockey" is both a way to shorten "Lochlan", and also what you get if you combine the first part of his first name and the whole part of his last name. Your characters don't have to realise this, of course.

    GM IC: ??? - Bridge

"Keep it moving!" snapped a tall burly figure, clad in cloak and impressive hat, into a microphone. "Ye scurvy dogs drop just one of them crates and ye'll be walkin' the plank!"

On the screen before the figure, similarly rough-looking though less well-dressed criminals saluted and resumed their pace in checking the precious cargo. The figure turned back to the room's occupants. "Orroight, ye scallawags! Keep steady!"

"Yes, Cap'n," said the crewmate at the helm, pressing buttons and flipping switches like it was second nature. To the crewmate sitting beside her, she said, "Feels so good to stretch yer legs, innit?"

"I miss the Cap'n's ship," her companion agreed. "Hidin' in a cargo bay? Ain't right fer-"

"Shaddap, ya lily-livered scallywags," the captain snapped at the two, slamming fists on the tops of the consoles. "After this, we'll all have enough booty to last a lifetime! And then some! Now, keep on course! We have some business to attend to, mateys."

  16. IC: Armani - Helping

She glanced over two large lumps of rubble, one on each shoulder, to shoot a winning grin at Threiaa. "Hello again, pilot! I am sorry for upsetting your friend. Have you two reached a decision?"

  17. OOC: Sorry, I've been a bit busy lately.

IC: Kororia - Books With Friends

Her eyes went wide, and she gasped. "You don't read? But what do you do before bedtime? Oh, I know!!! Can I show you my favourite books?"

  18. IC: Armani - Very Patient

Still waiting on a decision from her companions, Armani glanced around. There was a lot of repair work to be done. She called to her two companions, "Let me know if you have decided you require my aid, pilots! Otherwise, I am going to assist in the cleanup efforts over here."

She moved to a nearby group of guards and joined them in clearing debris.

OOC: I assume there would be guards and such starting to clean up the area, right?

  19. OOC: Sorry, I've been really busy lately with some other stuff.

IC: Tony Sprocket - Sprocket's Room

"Direction? It sounded like everywhere... Sorry, I wasn't thinking too hard about it when I ran..."

He turned to Flames. "O-Oh. But, they could still be okay, right?"

  20. IC: Rorohiko - Sighing With Relief

With that, and glancing back once more at Barlow, he left the room.

Finding an empty room was easy, since he didn't want anything more than a dark, quiet place to work. He settled into a small storeroom and clicked the hatch on his forearm open, exposing the familiar keyboard and activating the warm, comforting glow of the screen with a few button taps. He stared at his work, and slowly, his erratic, stressed thoughts eased themselves into a comfortable rhythm. He knew this. He could get lost in this. He fiddled with the phrases and searched for connections until it was as if nothing else existed but him, the screen, and the code.
