  1. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Now that she had recovered from the brief surprise, Thumper barrelled forwards and attempted to wrestle the gun from the other robot.

  2. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper felt the kick and responded with a fist to the robot's raised knee, though in shifting her position she felt that the kicked leg had a little more resistance to moving than usual, probably a dent locking on something. The sound of laser fire attracted her attention seconds later as a shot grazed the side of her head. She spun and raised her fists to guard her face, ducking her head and stepping back for room. "Hey! Don't bring lasers to a fist fight!"

  3. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper, confused, slapped the hand sliding up her side away. "What, are you trying to woo me or something? I was just punching your face in, hombre."

Then, the other robot (whose face she had literally punched in) went to grab her arm. She responded by shoving him back with a puzzled look. Then, she saw the third robot running for the now-open door after the frightened scream of an evildoer faced with a Hero, and everything fell into place.

"Oh, I get it. Trying to seduce me as a distraction, eh? Well, it's not going to work. I fight for the forces of good, villainy will never sway me!" She smirked, convinced she had their little scheme worked out.

  4. OOC: Oh, she's not going there. I just needed to know if I could incorporate it into her WITTY BANTER. Decided against it when I realised that calling attention to how they had failed to guard their EVIL DOOR would probably bring a lot of heat down on the Heroes over there. Thumper's buff, but I don't think even she could crash-tackle three guards at once to impede their attack. At least, not without a running start.

And to clarify: she is taking damage from the direct hits she gets. She just doesn't really feel them. It'd take a jackhammer to the face or something to get any sort of response. And her armour's pretty dang thick, too.

IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper took the punch and responded with one of her own, to the robot's jaw. She grinned. "I would've thought such a super duper Advanced League guard 'bot would be better at fighting. They must have let just about anyone in when you were there. I bet they didn't even give you a cool name."

  5. OOC: Whoops. Thought these robots were smaller. Ah well.

IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper took the impact without so much as a grunt, though the kick hit with a loud clang, and yanked the foot up to throw the robot off balance, releasing it as she did so. She turned at the feel of an impact on her arm, and glanced at the dent the other robot's punch had made. She hummed briefly in consideration.

"You guys are trained to take out Heroes like me, huh?" She grabbed the robot's head with one hand to hold it steady, and punched it with the other. "All I'm seeing so far are the kind of 'bots I crushed in Newbie League Wrestling."

  6. OOC: Also I think it'd be hard to kick Thumper any higher, depending on how tall these robots are.

IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper managed to grab the offending foot. She laughed; she had heard such things from friends in joking terms, from opponents to rile her up in the ring. But from a little guard robot attempting to harm her with a kick? That wasn't even enough to make her frown. Her grip was just tight enough to be painful on the leg she grasped, on top of being held in the air. She said, grinning, "What'd you just call me, little guy?"

OOC: Do you ever get conflicted as to how your own character will react to things? Eugh. I edited this real quick before anyone could respond to it. it just really wasn't in character to me. HOPEFULLY this works better.

In case anyone needs to know (since I didn't edit it for a couple hours): Thumper's original reaction was a lot angrier, but then I figured she's heard such things before. Smack-talking is a big part of wrestling from what I understand, after all. And having a little dude attempting to kick your heavily plated form and calling you a wuss is kind of... less than rage-inducing.

  7. OOC: Someone please save Zib from all this bullying. <:L

IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper twisted her shoulders to avoid the punch and used the momentum of the attacking robot's strike to flip him over her hip, hoping to have him land on the kicking robot.

"Look, amigos. I'm bigger than you, I'm stronger than you, I'm trained and able to beat up people twice your size with my bare hands." She pivoted to face her attackers once again, shoulder sparking briefly but apparently not enough for her to worry about. She could still move it, at least. She settled into a half-crouch, ready for another attack. "I think you'll be better off surrendering and letting us stop whatever evil plan you're pulling back there."

  8. OOC: I'm going to take "can have a decent conversation" as "it's probably not within Thumper's morals to outright kill these robots".

IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Laser fire scorched her arms and peppered her legs- a good portion of the shots missed due to her ducking and sidestepping, but she was quite a large target- but she did not feel the burn, only the tap of the impact they made. Thumper advanced as quickly as she could, since she was limited to close combat, and threw an uppercut at one of the robots.

  9. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

"Thanks!" Thumper said to the Hero before bringing her fists up to somewhat protect her face in a standard boxing stance. She went to kick a robot in the torso.

OOC: These guards are sapient, right?

  10. IC: Eloise Thumper, In Enemy Base

Thumper gave a start as she heard Bulk speak. Bulk was her idol, a heavy-model Hero who not only was chosen for missions for reasons other than his strength, but also was on the most elite team in Hero Factory. He was an inspiration to her, and here she was, (technically) on a mission with him. Oh, she had been told that he needed a rescue on this planet- that was about the only thing she had understood fully, the rest kind of went over her head apart from the 'attack on Hero Factory' part- but having him here, in person, made giddy excitement wrack her frame.

Her Hero Core plummeted as she realised this probably meant he had also seen her make a giant fool of herself after defeating the enemy. Picking the fallen Hero at her feet up and dusting them off with an apologetic, sheepish smile, she trudged after the others.

  11. OOC: Oh, good. I suppose Dumacc had lasted a long time with a swarm of Heroes attacking, anyway. Sadly for him, no one expects the Heroes to bring wrestlers to a laser gun fight.

  12. OOC: I don't think the suplex would have had more than one impact- I was going for the variation that is most well-known, the one where the attacker bends over backwards forming a kind of arch, with the attackee held above the attacker's head and thus impacted on the floor. But the end result's the same, so...

I... was kind of expecting that to not work, so... I'm sorry for ending the battle so quickly, too. :c

IC: Eloise Thumper: Triumphant in the Enemy Base

Consumed by her triumph and left-over adrenaline from the battle, she struck a pose, flexing her massive arms. She bellowed in victory, "LA PUNO DE HIERRO BRINGS THE PAIN! No evildoer can defeat the Iron Fist of Hero Factory!"

She laughed weakly, the battle finally releasing its hold on her as she came back to her senses. Then, she glanced down at the robot, a little embarrassed about her outburst. "He's, um, going to be all right, I'm pretty sure. That wasn't enough to do serious damage."

She cuffed him for good measure and called to the medic, "Maybe check him over when you're done there, just in case."

Finally, she turned to the Hero lying on the ground near her feet. She offered a hand awkwardly. "Uh... sorry. Didn't see you there. Are you all right?"

  13. OOC: CURSE MY TIMEZONE AND SEMI-NOCTURNAL SLEEPING HABITS

It's okay. It's finally time. I promised myself I'd get Thumper to suplex a brain on this mission, but there aren't any brains around, so I'm going for the Next Best Thing.

IC: Eloise Thumper, In the Fray

She needed no further telling. Fire blazed in her fuel lines as she carefully released the head of the Hero, quietly thanked the medic, and charged towards the fight, best arm forwards to guard the one seemingly damaged by the blast. She wasn't sure how bad that one was, but she needed both arms for this expert manoeuvre.

She'd had time to plan this. She was going to charge through the weapon fire, seize the attacking robot, and use the momentum and her impressive strength to bring him over her head. Her hydraulics tensed, her skill with these moves allowing her to consider exactly how much force to use to render the robot down, but not out.

It was time for the Suplex of the Century.

In the corner of her eye, she thought she saw other Heroes enter the room, but her focus was entirely on the villain and did not identify them.

OOC: I'm fully aware that Thumper's probably not going to succeed, but gosh darn it I am going to suplex SOMETHING this mission, and you know what they say: if at first you don't suplex, suplex and suplex again. Oh, and though Thumper's pretty dense, I'm guessing she'd know how much strength to put into a move from her training and experience in the ring, and as noted in her bio, she's required to 'go easy' on her opponents for minimal damage in competitions. Otherwise she'd be leaving a lot of her opponents in pieces.

  14. IC: Eloise Thumper - Inside Tunnel

Thumper saw the other Hero getting peppered with bullets, and she itched to help. But until that medic got here, her responsibility was to the injured. The guy wasn't showing any signs of stirring. She wished there was something more she could do for him.

"Where is that medic?" she mumbled, hoping the Hero under fire would be all right. The others were coming in to help, in any case, and she watched one of the Heroes fling himself at the attacker.

OOC: Waiting is agony and I'm pretty sure this will get wrapped up before I can attempt my coup de grace. Well, as is the way with Hero Factory, there's always another villain.

  15. IC: Eloise Thumper - Inside Tunnel

Thumper nodded, a firey glint in her eyes. The moment the medic got here, she was instigating her attack. She had it all planned out. There would be no stopping her.

OOC: I have been refreshing this page so much, I am so close to fulfilling the one goal I set myself before starting this RPG. I even dedicated time to looking up a name for Thumper's wrestling alter ego so she could shout it in triumph afterwards.

Of course, this will probably not work, but I can try. I can DREAM.

  16. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Tunnel

Thumper followed the newcomer's instructions, careful to mind the strength of her grip. Hearing over her comm. that the imprisoned Heroes were fine was a tremendous relief, but it sounded like the unconscious (she hoped) Hero before her was in a really bad way. She glanced up to see one of her fellow Heroes under fire by their robot attacker. As soon as this Hero got to a medic, that villain was going to meet her fist, face-to-face. Well, face-to-fist.

  17. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Tunnel

"Thumper here. I'm fine, but-" she was interrupted by one of the Heroes tripping over the unmoving Hero she was kneeling beside. "-Uh, careful. This guy here with me, I think something's wrong. Does anyone here know how to do field repairs?"

She tried to get a better look. He hung limp as she moved him, and she nearly dropped him again. He looked... dead.

"I need someone over here right now!"

  18. Thumper was thrown back by the blast, but quickly shook it off. The side of her body closest to the blast seemed damaged, from a cursory glance, but she had more pressing matters to attend to. One of the Heroes had screamed in pain behind her. She ran over quickly, ignoring her slight limp, and knelt beside him. "Are you okay? What hurts?"

She wasn't great at field repairs, but she could at least comfort the guy until she got over someone who was. Hopefully, he wasn't seriously hurt.

OOC: I'm slowly realising that it's hard to convey injury from the point of view of someone who doesn't feel them. :L

  19. IC: Eloise Thumper - Inside Hospital

A marker blinked on Thumper's HUD. "Oh! Thank you. Thumper out."

He had sounded busy, so she didn't ask about the situation. She supposed she would be able to guess what the situation was when she got there, or ask a fellow Hero what to hit.

The marker brought her to a hole in the ground. She could hear fighting and laser fire down below. Now this was more like it. She jumped down, landing heavily on her feet with a loud clang, and saw several Heroes fighting against a single robot, a cannon, and some wall-mounted blasters. The blaster was actively firing, so she ran at it, meaning to grab it and rip it off the wall.

  20. IC: Eloise Thumper, walking back to hospital

After her rather abrupt sending off, Thumper dutifully took the corpse to the dropoff point. Not wanting to linger too long, she quickly hurried back towards the hospital. While she really didn't want to look at any more dead people, that Hero from earlier was the only one she'd seen. She hoped there were more in the hospital, ones that would have a job for her that wouldn't leave her feeling upset.

Of course, it was just as likely she'd be handed another corpse to take. The Hero who was taking them didn't seem particularly strong, it was probably hard work to lug deactivated Heroes around for him. She had a brilliant idea- if the Heroes on this planet were too busy to respond to her communication attempts, she could try contacting the mission manager back at Hero Factory!

She winced as she remembered she was probably meant to call in when she landed. She should have remembered that, and had been meaning to after calling out for other Heroes, but the quiet Hero's task had thrown her off. She hoped she hadn't worried anyone.

"Hello, Mission Control? This is Eloise Thumper. Sorry for the late response. I've landed in the planet's hospital, I'm heading back there now. Do you have any suggestions for where to head? I could use some evil to punch right now."

  21. IC: Eloise Thumper - Inside Hospital Foyer

Thumper jolted back in shock. She hadn't seen many dead in previous missions, much less dead Heroes. She glanced away from the sight. "S-Sure. I'm sorry, I just didn't think... They usually call me out for hard-hitting, you know? Not... dead Heroes."

After a moment's hesitation, she reached down and hefted the body over her shoulder. She tried not to think about it. Death, her team leader had told her, was something they had to get used to seeing in their line of work. But it always hit her hard to see a robot, the life gone from within them. She wasn't sure if she wanted the feeling to go away like it had seemed to for the veteran Heroes. It was an awful feeling, but it reminded her that these were once people.

A sensation like her fan belt twisting wrenched the pit of her tanks. She said, "Are... are the captured Heroes okay? No one else is dead, right? It's only this guy who's...?"

  22. IC: Eloise Thumper - Inside Hospital Lobby

Thumper was puzzling over what to do next, given the radio silence, when she spotted another Hero. He seemed to be staring at her. Wondering why he didn't reply to either of her calls, both verbal and radioed, she waved.

"Hey there! I'm Thumper. I'm here for backup, and- is that guy okay?!"

She hadn't seen the limp form the Hero had been struggling with. She approached as quickly as she could, concerned. "What happened? Are you hurt too? What's the situation down here?"

  23. IC: Eloise Thumper: Inside hospital

Thumper landed with a resounding crash, but a cursory glance over herself revealed she was still in one piece. She stretched and heard no rattles or screeches of metal, so she figured she was all right. The door was stuck, though. She tore it open, figuring she couldn't really make it much more scrapped. She stepped out and peered into the foyer she found herself in. The front doors had been blown to pieces and she'd made a mess of the immediate area, not to mention the reception desk was little more than scrap metal now.

She took a moment to uneasily glance at the damage, resolved herself to help clean it up when there wasn't evil to stop, and called out. "Uh, hello? It's Thumper. I'm here to help out."

Remembering the radio silence, she added, "If there's anyone in here, I mean. If there's not, I probably look really silly right now."

  24. OOC: The only place I have a definite idea of where people are at is the hospital, and they sounds like they're off to do something, so I reckon I'm going to join them. Besides, everyone else seems to be doing things like "carefully disarm bomb" or "do fancy technomancer stuff" and other such things that are not resolved with brute strength. Feel free to send Thumper elsewhere if you need luchador galore somewhere else.

IC: Eloise Thumper: Above Tranquis VIII

Thumper leaned over the console to peer at the ground, and in doing so, heard something snap. She brought her hands up and found that the steering wheel had come along with them. She sighed- this was not the first time this had happened- and sat back in the chair. She may not be good at flying, but her team leader had drilled the routines for impact prediction into her processor enough for it to stick. She'd been pretty adamant about that after a few incidents regarding Thumper's landing skills, or lack thereof.

She pressed a few buttons, brow furrowed in concentration. According to the console, she was to land in the vicinity of the local hospital. She decided to try the comm. frequency again. "Thumper here. Is anyone near the hospital? I'm coming in to help. But you might want to avoid outside for a few minutes. And maybe any walls near the outside. Just a heads up."

She then sat back again and prepared for a crash landing. With her trajectory- she wasn't flying too high, or at great speed- hopefully the landing wouldn't be that rough. And she'd certainly landed worse before and come out relatively fine. She put it down to practice.
