  1. IC: Eloise Thumper

"You were threatening them," she replied, stance firm. "Of course they were going to arm themselves. And we don't know if they're not here to do the same thing we are, do we? Maybe they're here to save lives, too."

  2. IC: Eloise Thumper

Thumper approached the grumpy Hero. "Whoa, amigo. You're slipping out of Hero territory here. He was offering to help us save people. And he hasn't really done anything wrong- well, he attacked us, but we stole his guns first! What he is doesn't matter- it shouldn't matter, to us. What matters is, he was here to help. And isn't that what being a Hero is all about?"

OOC: from now on just imagine a tiny screech of frustration every time I post and have to edit it.

  3. IC: Eloise Thumper

Thumper held the unconscious Hero in her hands. They seemed to be the same one she had accidentally crushed earlier. She carefully set them on the floor after establishing they were still alive.

She looked up to the group again. "This guy's okay, I think... Not sure what attacked them, though."

The Hero seemed fine here. She got up and turned to the argumentative Hero across the room. "The little guy's right about the rocket. If he wants to break the rocket, and we want to break the rocket, can't we just do that and sort out who's a criminal and who's not later, when the rocket isn't threatening people?"

  4. OOC: Ghidora why

    IC: Eloise Thumper

Thumper was horrified. She ran to the Hero's side immediately, intent on ripping the Hero free- but her hands met with empty air. Puzzled and bewildered, she fished around until her hand met a solid body, and she yanked it out.

  5. IC: Eloise Thumper - Lower Rocket Room

Thumper glanced to the rocket, to the tiny creature, and then to her fellow Heroes.

"I think maybe we should help him," she said slowly. "We need to stop the rocket, right? We can sort this out later, when the rocket isn't... What is it meant to hit? ... When it's not hitting anything."

She turned to the creature. "I don't think you should get your weapons back- even if one of the others took them, I'm sure it was for a good reason, and you were just attacking us- but we can smash the rocket! I think we were in the middle of that when you turned up, actually."

OOC: So proud of me for making a post that got ninja'd but was still relevant and required no story-based editing. *Hi-fives self*

  6. OOC: For future reference, an elbow drop isn't a punch. Or, well, it's a punch from the elbow. With the weight of the attacker behind it. Again, though, end result's the same.

IC: Eloise Thumper - In Lower Rocket Room

Her elbow cracked against the floor and she rolled to avoid the blasts thrown in her general direction. The hand attached to the dropped arm felt a little tingly, probably since the jarring impact wasn't helping her damaged shoulder. That was fine, it still moved.

She turned to the now tiny evildoer. A Hero shouted to "keep him away from the rocket", but the little guy was raising his hands in surrender. Clearly, he was giving up. Thumper dropped her fighting stance.

Then, he blasted the nose-cone of the rocket.

Thumper shielded her face with her arms against the explosion.

OOC: I posted and there were like 50 posts made in that time, rendering mine obsolete. Incredible

I'm not sure how big the explosion will be. It sounds like it would be huge, though.

  7. IC: Eloise Thumper - Under Rocket

Trying to hold the beast while it was shapeshifting was hard enough, so it slipped easily out of her grip once it noted her trying to wrangle it. Its still-big fist flew for her head, so she caught the impact on her forearm.

"Shapeshifter, huh?" She looked it over. It was on the ground. She took the opportunity, clambered to her feet and performed an elbow drop onto what remained of its back.

  8. OOC: Gosh I leave for one hour and everything kicks off

IC: Eloise Thumper - Under Rocket

Thumper got her bearings after the flying Hero blasted through her quarry, and saw the villain trying to reform itself. She wrapped one arm around his neck in a loose yet firm chokehold, and got a grip on its upper arm by hooking her other arm around it. She pulled the beast back from its other half, hoping it wasn't too connected to not be separated by the action. "No you don't! You get your legs back after you're in jail!"

  9. OOC: How is Katherine going to hit the giant shapeshifter when we're all underground, just out of curiosity? I can believe that they know where it is because maybe Katherine can pick up Hero energy signatures or something, but by the sounds of it we're pretty deep underground by this point.

  10. OOC: Quick clarification: Fishers, Makuro is the guy who started Hero Factory. Makuhero is the name of the city. They're pretty dang easy to mix, up, though.

Also, how big is this shapeshifter in comparison to the average Hero? Like, twice as big, three times as big...?

  11. IC: Eloise Thumper - In For One Wild Rodeo Ride

The impact was actually pretty hard, enough for her to feel a twinge of pain. Not enough to shake her off, though, and so she was still gripping the beast as it took off after the other Hero. She ducked her head to avoid the blasts from the Hero's weapon and laughed, whooping.

  12. IC: Eloise Thumper - BBB Room

Thumper went flying once again, though not as far. She rolled with the impact with the floor and got to her feet. Well, hitting it seemed to do nothing, since it didn't cry out in pain. That was rare. She elected for a new tactic: circling around the beast, she flung herself at its back, grabbing hold.

  13. IC: Eloise Thumper - In BBB Room

"Uh." Thumper glanced at it. "A big... lizard? It's got robot parts and organic parts, I think. It has guns, and it doesn't like tables. And it's attacking. It's not a particularly nice lizard, I guess."

She rolled her shoulders, flexing her hydraulics, and rushed the thing again, this time aiming to punch it in the stomach. "Over here, mean-face!"

  14. IC: Eloise Thumper - In BBB Room

The blast threw Thumper back and she landed with a heavy thud. She climbed to her feet, brushing herself off. A Hero named Abacus- he sounded like the Hero who had helped Stringer and Bulk- asked over the comm. what the situation was. She replied, "Thumper here, there's a big monster here. I don't know why, or how it fit in the front door, though."

She glanced back down the hall where she came from, frowning. "In fact, I don't know how they fit the rocket in here."

  15. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Beast Boss Battle Room

Thumper could see the creature as she and the other Hero approached. She stared, and then glanced to her companion. "I don't think I know what's going on on this planet anymore."

Nevertheless, it was attacking Heroes, so it was time to do what she did best: pound villains into the dirt. Or tile, as the case may be. She glanced around briefly and found a desk with some datapads and mugs on it, which she overturned and carried with her as she charged the beast, swinging her makeshift weapon the way she'd slammed folded chairs into so many opponents before.

OOC: Confession: I have no idea what room this is or where it is but I'm assuming since it's part of the villain lab there's probably a table or something. If not, I'll edit this to reflect that.

  16. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Rocket General Area

There was a crash and a roar somewhere off in the distance, and so it seemed that Thumper's rocket-punching would have to wait. The other Hero seemed to be on top of things, anyway. She called up, "Never mind, I'll go sort that thing out instead. Thanks anyway."

She thudded in a lumbering jog after the Hero already running for the source of the noise. At least crashing and roaring typically meant something she could hit was close by.

  17. OOC: Oh! Whoops. Must have missed that (I misread the part about Vantal). Sorry! If it's any consolation, I didn't figure it as being insta-kill, just that I had to be quick on the draw for Thumper to tear her way out of his innards in the traditional Xenomorph fashion.

I am also taking this as an invitation to piledrive to my heart's content.

  18. OOC: Okay I'll try not to be too disappointed by the lack of knife eye attacks. And now I know that I should find a way to keep my melee-only wrestler character from attacking the monster directly without metagaming. Call me sentimental, but I'm rather attached to Thumper and would not like to have her die on her first mission. Although "absorbed into the monster she had performed a piledriver on" would be a pretty awesome way to go.

  19. OOC:

it sported a silver blade protruding from its crackling red eyes.

    knife_eye_attack_by_eternityhero.jpg

Oh, and just thought of a few questions about the new villain: I assume there's a delay between absorbing a living being and transmuting their brain into something else to kill them (to get through the skull equivalent)? Also: by 'never absorbs computers', does that apply to robots or just computers in the layman's sense of the term, that is, a box thing that has a screen attached usually?

  20. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Rocket Room

The Hero she was talking to got up and started working on the back end of the rocket using a pretty cool hoverboard. Thumper blinked. "Oh, uh, okay..."

Maybe the Hero hadn't heard her. She called, louder, "Want me to punch the rocket? I'm pretty good at it!"

Experience had taught her to ask before punching any kind of nonsapient machinery, except in the case of a dire emergency.

  21. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Rocket Room

Thumper had watched the other Hero race past her on her shameful walk to the door. She didn't know any of their names, but they hadn't had much time for introductions. She entered the room shortly after him and glanced around.

There was a rocket, that looked bad. And some computers. One of the evil scientists were sitting in the corner, probably terrified at the thought of being arrested or something. Some Heroes were working on the computer or eyeing the rocket. She didn't think she would be of much help here unless they needed her to punch the rocket. Which she could certainly do, she'd done it enough times before.

Her gaze wandered to a dead robot, his head mangled by what appeared to be a bullet. She wasn't too sure, though; her experience with what injuries looked like came mostly from personal experience, and it was rare for anything to do as much damage as what she saw on the robot. She approached the robot, looking for a sign of a weapon. Either the robot was dead before the Heroes got here, or the robot had a weapon and tried to attack.

She found no weapon. This confused her, but she deduced that one of the other Heroes must have picked it up for safekeeping. The Heroes behind her seemed to be getting into action, and one was at the rocket, doing some kind of tech thing. Thumper tapped them on the shoulder.

"Need me to punch the rocket?" Thumper asked. She added, to be helpful, "I've punched rockets before, don't worry. I even know what part is the nose-cone because I kicked one there once and was told that you shouldn't hit the explosive ones there."

  22. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper heard this exchange, and glanced worriedly over to them. She still couldn't look Bulk in the eye after her embarrassing display earlier, but... a Core corruption sounded bad. The others in the next room weren't shouting for help right now, so surely she could spare a moment to offer her idol some support?

So, when she was standing right beside the group and she heard Bulk say something about the red energy in him being "no good", she blurted out, "Uh... I... I hope it gets good again."

She took a moment to revel in how absolutely dumb she sounded before turning and making for the next room in utter embarrassment. Good moves, Thumper, she thought to herself sarcastically.

  23. IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Thumper looked over to the robot she was resting on. "Oops."

Her hand went to her Hero cuffs- to find they weren't there. She'd used them on the wheeled robot in the other room. She sighed and instead simply gave a forceful bop to the other robot's head before getting up to make sure he wouldn't jump up immediately after her. She glanced at the second robot and pushed him over with a light shove. She looked over to the Hero still angling his weapon at the enemy and thanked him with a nod and a grin.

She did a quick check of her limbs and pulled her dented leg armour back into an approximation of its original position to stop it locking. Her shoulder still sparked occasionally, but there wasn't much she could do about that. There was a slight rattle when she took air through her vents. She thudded her fist against her chest twice, and whatever it was seemed to get back into place. Or fell somewhere it wouldn't rattle.

The grazing from the laser fire had only warped her helm a little, by the feel of it. The direct laser strikes on her arms and legs had struck deeper, but not deep enough to rupture internal mechanisms. Satisfied, she glanced around the room to see if anyone else needed help.

OOC: Was Thumper the last Hero to be fighting guards out there? I know Bulk and presumably Stringer were still fighting, but please help jog my memory if there were others.

  24. OOC: I'm laughing because "the galactic conspiracy Hero Factory doesn't know about" is the worst supervillain league name ever and also they're going to have to change it because now Hero Factory knows about it.

IC: Eloise Thumper - In Enemy Base

Instead of attempting to tear the gun away, she tightened her grip to crush the gun in her fists. Her hands occupied, she twisted to avoid taking the full brunt of the hit and brought her own forehead down at force on the robot she was grappling with's head.

There wasn't much she could do about the second one, so she ended up thrown to the ground with a startled grunt- but she didn't release her hold on the gun.
