  1. yoyoyoyo dAWGthis is a good thing so far. but i'd like to point out the only big problem i noticed.

some backgrounds, particularly the one of the outside of the building with the satellite, look as if they were created on a white background, then later changed to transparent in order to be used on different backgrounds. (in this case, so that they could be used in day and night). that's the one mistake i would correct. you should always make your panels on a transparent background.

good start! the plot is a little slow, but at least you aren't rushing things. and i'd work on giving the characters some more depth, though.

    yoyo

    peace out

    homie

  2. this is a good start! the humor is interesting. a bit different, but i like it!

if i were to change anything about this series, i'd firstly suggest changing the speech balloons to make them look more clear and high-quality. currently they look as if they are pre-made and scaled to fit the panel. i can't quite tell what program you're using, but depending on what you use, you could PM me for tips on how to make your speech balloons look pretty cool. that's just something i'd change, but of course you don't have to just because i would. :P

the only other thing, is perhaps save your files as .png because image files are more high-quality in this case when saved as .png rather that .jpg.

good work otherwise! like i mentioned before, the humor is good, and i like your use of these sprites. they're usually not something i'm a huge fan of, but they look pretty nice here!

  3. i'd come back looking for all the mods/admins who i remember, to see who's still here.

then i'd look for some old friends. a lot of people i used to talk to have left this site behind long ago, but if i were coming back after a long absence i'd probably look for DJ (Madame D. Judgement), NX09 (Lady Sir AyEm), Chath (even though he left, i'd still look to see if he ever came back because he's my bro), Eljay, and Gavla.

there are probably more people i'd look for, but those are the main people i'd try to find.

  4. it comes really close for me between 2004 and 2006.

for least favorite... mmm... probably 2005 or 2008. i actually did like 2009 a bit because the set pieces like masks and weapons were pretty interesting on some sets even though they had the some boring 2008 design.

  5. this is great. just absolutely great.

we haven't seen very many hand-drawn comic series here on BZPower in quite some time, and this comic series' style, especially in art is a welcome change.there's not much i can say about the story so far, but i like it very much so far. and besides a few grammatical errors, it's very easy to follow, which is nice.

besides that there aren't many errors, besides the few that Katuko mentioned before me. and the errors certainly aren't drastic enough to ruin the comics in any way.

    excellent work!

  6. Less new members and a smaller active population. Reading through this thread, there were only 2-3 members I didn't recognize. With fewer younger and newer members joining, the older members, effectively the site as a whole matured together.

    i have to agree here.

i've noticed less flame, and i think it's partly due to more mature members, but also i think it has a lot to do with the general lack in activity the forum has nowadays.

BZPower has remained more active than a lot of other forums, even in recent years, but for probably about a year or two, activity has been slowing down. less people have been joining, more members are leaving. the reason we have more mature users is because we've all grown up quite a bit since we were raging, flaming newbies.i guess the lack of flamewars has to do with less new members, or at least less new members who stick around for very long. most flame was between younger users, that i had seen anyways.

so, yeah the quieting down is nice in a way, but it feels to me like we've lost a little something along with the flame.

i don't think that flamewars are an OK thing, though, this is just my personal opinion.

  7. Hey the links aren't working for me they bring up a 404 page can you fix it?

I'm having the same issues, only with everyone who uses Majhost/Brickshelf.

We'll just have to sit this out and wait for the guys at Majshelf to fix it.

  8. I have somewhat mixed feelings about the announcement. It's quite sad seeing all of the great comic seires that BZPower has had over the years go, but at the same time, it's good to know you're going to give things a proper ending, rather than allowing it to drift away over time.

It's good to know you'll still stick around!Good luck on the rest of the comics!

  9. In my opinion, Random Access Memories is their best album after Discovery. Like Tenebrae said, its probably harder for people who don't like the dance music of the 70s to get into, but if you can its an absolutely awesome musical experience.

    I recommend it highly.

  10.

Anyone else bought the new single yet? Or heard it?

    Absolutely not disappointed!

Just heard it due to your post.

Honestly, it's not that mega-amazing like I expected it to be, but it's not bad. Surely it isn't.

I would have liked more of the robot voice; not that Pharrell's is bad, however he gives the song a sound that is more pop than techno-electro-whatevergenreDaftPunkare, in some spots of the songs.

After all, it's just a song out of an entire album, so I don't think this has ruined my excitement for Random Acces Memories. I just hope for a song of the style of Digital Love to be in it. That would be the coolest thing to happen this year.

Yeah, well the band has noted that the new album has a more "west-coast vibe" to it. Meaning there's not likely to be as much electronic style music on it, but I believe the robotic/vocoder voices will still be included. (Seeing as they were in Get Lucky.) Also, this was only the radio edit, so there could possibly be more Daft Punk vocals on the album version, which is an entire 2 minutes longer than the radio version.

I heard that there's actually only one song off the new album that's entirely techno/electronic. There's still elements of electronic music in the other songs, but I think there are a lot more "natural" instruments on this album. (But at least the robot voices are still here!)
