I'm typing this a few days before the set publish date, because that day I'll be busy, but I feel like it would be a good time to take a moment and look back. No, this is not me announcing my departure or anything like that, it's just something I really wanted to take the time to say.

I've met and talked to a lot of people online over the years, and a good deal of that activity has been centered around BZPower and the BIONICLE fandom. I've had other interests, of course, but those have come and gone, and I've never invested as much in anything as I have in my LEGO hobby and the community around it.

I didn't start on BZP. I didn't have my own email address (or any at all) until the beginning of 2008, so I started on wikis like BIONICLEsector01. I had a good run on there and made some friends. Cholie, Exo Malakai, Varaka, The Alchemyst/PoI, Bioran, Lihyahm, and all the rest of those people I can't quite remember because it's been half a decade. It was a great time.

But then I joined BZPower, and I slowly lost interest in the chronicling and got more into the discussing. Here I met others who shared my interests, or shared some interests with people who shared some of my interests, or just happened to be in the same AIM group chat I was in. Really, the people I met through "bzplol" were my friends for the first couple of years here. Teebert, Wrack, Necro, Ran/DX, Taka-Tahu-Nuva, Arch-Angel, Kopakalaka, Lluvio, Disky, and others (I feel really bad that I can't remember everyone). I had so much fun talking about Code Lyoko or politics or whatever else on the spectrum came up. I really miss it a lot.

A lot of you (yes, you, all the people I've just listed, and all the ones I've forgotten) aren't around BZPower anymore, and haven't been for a while. We haven't talked for years, I don't know how to contact you, you've probably changed in that time (and so have I), and you may want nothing to do with me anymore.

However, I have something to say to you.

    Thank you.

Middle school and high school are usually marked by obnoxious angst and social awkwardness. But they're also a time when you're really becoming who you will be in life. It's a lie to say that nothing else has affected me the way this community has. I've had pretty major events in my life that will no doubt define me forever. But to say that you've had no effect on me would be as equally wrong.

I feel confident, however, in saying that I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today had I not met you all. You were people I could talk to about my interests, people I could stay up until 2 or 3 AM chatting with about whatever came up, people who were there and put up with me. Those moments were worth falling asleep in school for. I may have never seen some of your faces or heard some of your voices or even may never have known some of you as anything but a screen name, but you were willing to give me a chance.

So to you, the people who in many ways welcomed me to the internet, I say thank you.

    Thank you for everything.

(This entry will be published at 7:29 PM Eastern time on March 11, 2014, exactly six years after the first blog entry I ever posted on BZPower.)

At about 14:40 as it pans to Aelita.

For me it's always kind of disappointing to hear sounds that I recognize from other media (in this case, The BIONICLE Music from 2001) because it means one if not both of the parties involved just used existing audio.

Also hi Ghost Channel, nice to see you again. I didn't need to go to sleep anyway.

This was that silly BBCC entry I was talking about. Decided against entering it because I've already made something better.

(It's awful not having a decent camera anymore.)

I don't know whether to wait and build something meaningful that might actually have a chance or post the thing I just built five minutes ago because it's kind of funny and I want to post it before anyone else posts something like it.

(No it's not like a stocking spider or anything, but it also doesn't have that many parts and no doubt it'll be crushed by other people's stuff.)

    2005:

"For some reason, he doesn't scare me anymore."

    2003:

"Back, you foul creature! One more step, and I'll—"

I think this was my favorite part of the movies.

    Expectation:

Oh boy, I can't wait to finally go home and use all these new parts I ordered to build some awesome things!

    Reality:

I'd already built a bunch of stuff and used most of my base pieces, then shipped half of it off on a nationwide journey.

    Dang it.

Before I got the set, when I was still gazing longingly at the little pamphlet and drooling over these "bionicles", whatever they were, I don't think I really understood how he worked.

Like was his toe a rock or something? And the way he was posed reminded me of the RoboRiders, with his feet in the front and back, but especially the way he had his arms up in the air like that. It seemed the least humanoid of the poses.

Also I'm pretty sure Onua's picture made me think of the Mata torso shoulder attachment point as some kind of flower.

Also I thought Kopaka's mask looked more like a helmet that was looking to the left in the picture as opposed to a mask looking to the right.

Also I was really surprised when I got Lewa and he had a giant nose. (He was my first Toa. :3)

(Just saw the pictures again and had some flashbacks, don't mind me.)

P.S. Bohrok are the best sets.

    - The Art of Oban Star-Racers
    - Zing Z-Curve Bow

KIND OF ON AN OBAN THING RIGHT NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED

Also the bow is stupid powerful, don't shoot people with it at close ranges!

More filled-in body, not lopsided, weird hands of a sort, and a flip-up "Rhotuka launcher" like in WoS.

I wanted to use the two GitD Bohrok eyes I got at BFNE, and I figured why not an evil Vakama to go with Roodaka?

(I like the eyes, since they glow green, and by charging small bits of them with tiny point lights they even look like they do in the movie.)

Also this probably marks the point where I stop making so many entries, since I go back to school tomorrow and won't be with my precious LEGO collection until March, so I likely won't have any new things to post.

(not actually Kopaka, just the canister)

    (still awesome though)

    (remember when BIONICLE was TECHNIC?)

    (they grow up so fast)

    (I love the spinny-sleeve thing)

(still has the KB Toys price sticker on it which, having had 12+ years for the adhesive to sink in, I suspect is now a rather permanent addition)

I've had these guys hovering around for a few months, but never bothered to take a picture. I was going to send then on the convention route attached to Golden Key, but I figured that'd be a bit of a hassle on their end.

But anyway, here they are. Figured I should share before too long (never know when someone's going to come along and steal your thunder).

At this point, I'm out of or nearly out of many of the staple parts I use when I build, so now is when I just sort of throw any bits and pieces together regardless of color.

I can't even make one of them. let alone six.

The armor is sort of taken from an idea I had a long time ago for armor additions to Inika bodies. Used it on one of my "MOCs" back then. But now this design is a different version, changed to fit my current odd desire to build custom torsos based around the McToran body piece.

(This is me releasing all my pent-up creativity from being in school and away from my beautiful mess of a LEGO collection.)
