I have two dogs... one is old, blind, and less-than-brilliant, and the other is headstrong and tends to bark for no apparent reason. XD

Well, I didn't explain it entirely. My entire household is allergic to cats, and our dog enjoys snacking on the little animals.

When it happened, it really wasn't as bad as you'd think. It was afterwards, when the truth really set in. To be honest, it's almost a little hard to believe that she's gone at all, just because she'd always been there, you know?

Yeah, it took me a while to get used to it too... I was constantly listening for the jingle of his collar for nearly a week before I think it really set in. Guess old habits are hard to break...

I kept half expecting to hear her clacking across the wooden floor, or thumping against the ground while she scratched, or whining at the door for the first few days... and it kind of killed my appetite for a day or two.

We struck a deal with our English teacher- we'd do poetry and other such things in exchange for not doing essays. Sometimes, I think I'd prefer the essays, but then again, the essays he has us do are short. XD
