  1. DO WANT DRAGON BOLT

Aside from that, I like the concept and box art for jet rocka, but he looks way too top heavy. I liked frost beast in the promo, but he is kind of a letdown here. It might be that he looks uglier in the set than in the trailer, but his parts look good as ever. I don't usually buy heroes out of my own immaturity, but this line up looks nice. Unfortunately the only hero I am devoted to get; stringer, is left out. Aquagon is very basic, and I don't need another butt ugly villain face. Dragon bolt is as stated before, is a do want. He has a good colorscheme, a very nice design (I hear the wings flap when you push on his back), the coolest looking brain bug I have ever seen, and and overall nice look. By the way, does the brain bug for Dragon Bolt glow the same way Takadox does?

  2. Hero ultrabuilds

    Villain ultrabuilds

    Summer/Fall speedorz packaging (finalized! :D )

more finalized set packaging (and even more)

    70010 box back

    Summer speedorz sets 1

    And another pic

    Fox tail mold!

    Combat Lair side view

    Twin Bike

As you can see, lots of good stuff! Combat Lair is probably the best set of the wave (IMO), and I  the summer speedorz sets! The ultrabuilds obviously suck (especially the hero ones...uggh) but at least that's where the disappointment ends.

    Here are my opinions:

Ultrabuilds: these are kind of fail, but Razar looks good, and I need cragger's head.

Speedorz: Neat looking challenges, but I'm not to big on the represented characters, so I might or might not get them.

Playsets: The lion temple looks like it has some nice features and 'figs, but it is WAY out of my price range. The combat lair is epic, as said before, but I have my eye on some things from other lines. The gorilla striker is probably as much as the samurai mech from last summer, so cool set, but no. Twin Bike I assume is around 30 dollars US, so I would rather get something else.

So, yeah, not to many sets from this line.

  3. I've seen some of these new sets at Legoland Florida - picked up three of them. ...But it almost makes me wonder; is there going to be a "boxed/titan" set for this wave? Like a supervillain? I've been anticipating that... xD

None in the January wave certainly, but maybe in the August wave. I'm referring to size, though, of course. Since Furno XL is in a bag like the small and medium sets, there's no reason to assume that a "Titan set" of a villain would be any different, unless it were truly massive, too heavy to hang on a hook as the bagged sets are designed to do.

Before I do something stupid and get myself in trouble, are we allowed to talk about the summer sets without showing pictures?

  4. Was I the only one that did NOT like the voice acting...?

Definitely not. From all the sites I've read discussion and feedback of the show on, it's seems like it's pretty even between those who do and do not like the voice acting, or even the show in general. I wasn't paying much attention back when the Hero Factory or Ninjago show started, so I don't have much to base how the show is doing compared to other LEGO shows, but most TV series start out similarly.

Also guys, don't go judging the show to harshly. Remember these are just the first few episodes. The Ninjago series and the Hero Factory series both weren't very 'epic' at the start, but both gradually picked up. I'm expecting the same from Chima.

While herofactory didn't have an exactly "epic" start, Ninjago did IMO.

  5. I thought up the mask of mimmicry (no name, but it looks like a faxon without a visor, headlamp, and tubes) and it grants the power to use someone else's power or skills if that being has been studied long enough, and wearer fully understands the power or skill.

  6. I have the two episodes recorded on DVR (it's just a matter of finding an optimal time to watch them), but from what you guys are saying, it sounds like it may only disappoint me. It really seemed like they were set up for something really epic, based on the previews and website, but it sounds like it may just be full of really immature humor and derpy characters.

Apparently the names are Rhogon (Rhino) and Bladvix (Bear... as if I needed to say it).I didn't watch it, but maybe later, I guess. There are certainly conflicting opinions around the show, haha.

Also, vaguely relevant, the set description for the upcoming Skunk Attack set caught my eye, in addition to the fact that the wolves hate the skunks because they bother the wolves' great sense of smell.

Attach Skinnet onto the skunk Speedor, pull the ripcord and unleash the power.

Er... unleash the power, to attack the wolves.Okay. :P

For extra SKUNK POWER munch on a few bean burritos before your speedorz match so that your opponent can REALLY feel the heat! :satisfied:

  7.

There are 8 tribes. In addition to the five in this winter wave, the gorillas, rhinos and bears are also apparently being featured in Chima.

Whoa, wait, what? Bears and rhinos are confirmed? That's pretty cool. I wonder which side they'll each take.

Yep. The bears appear to be allied with the lions (a video shows Cragger beating one up) and the rhinos with the crocs (they're seen with Worriz). Which is keeping consistent with Ugly Animals=Bad, Cute/Cool Animals=Good.Either way, discussion of this (both the Serpentine in Chima and confirmation fo the two new tribes) seems more fit for the main Chima thread.

Wrong. If all the cute and/or cool animals were good, the Wolves would be aligned with the Lions. Just saying.

Is it wrong that I find wolves cuddly, crocs and ravens cool, and lions and eagles boring and stereotypical?

back on topic... the snakes would certainly fit in if you made some modifications such as adding the "chi plate" armor.

  8. Does this mean any newly canonized prefixes will have to be from a previous list such as the names of the Kraata and Kraana types?

If so, let's see, what would the options be...Krana:XaVuYoSuZaCaJa (Similar to Jo which is winning the Magnetism poll... perhaps even better as it avoids Joe :P)Bo (is one popular option for plants, currently coming in at a closeish second in the poll)Kraata:Za (as a copy from the Krana, probably best not to use it a third time methinks)UlYeXi (similar to Xe which won second for Plasma, although the top choice, Io, I would think would not present legal issues, as it's the name of a real-life moon)Vo (now taken)CuThere's also Va, perhaps.

I feel bad for the matoran of plantlife, they might end up being called bo-bo matoran by other elements :P

  9.

And if you don't pull the stunt off right when you are up there, you are ready to rip your hair out after the time it took to get up there. :P

Exactly! It's often hard to get it right when going from the ceiling, too - nothing really to easily give the spin you need for the higher stunts.

    ~ :a: :c: :e: :r:~

Yeah, I hate that. I weant up there and sped off the ducts, but when I landed all it gave me was "nice stunt". I took a very long break after that.

  10. Phantoka for the win! The sets were well rounded, some had more than 2 play features, great new parts, and overall awesome intro to karda nui! I also must say, I thouroughly enjoy making phantoka themed mocs. It takes a little imagination when thinking of how to stay in the air!

Least favorite? I am going to have to say the Mistika just because the 3 toa nuva looked nothing like themselves.

  11. These new Hero Factory sets look quite interesting, and I'm liking the looks of all this metallic gold and transparent plastic.

I wonder if there's a Glatorian "Iron Man" head hiding under those masks, or if we've gotten yet another new head piece.

Well, kind of. It is the same shape, but has an additional axle hole on the front.

  12. Huh. I just watched a trailer on TV, and it says that it will be a one hour special, which kind of implies that it won't be an entire TV series, but more like the short Lego Atlantis movie released in 2010. I may be wrong, but it doesn't say anything about a full series, so we can't just assume it will become one (like we just assumed that chima was replacing ninjago). It seems like someone may have interpreted as a TV series, while it is only one "movie". Anyways, it looks pretty awesome. Any release dates yet?
