  1. Wow, this just gets weirder and weirder. Anyways, I found CGI images of the allegedly cancelled Chima constraction figs on this site(via Eurobricks). http://www.bionifigs.com/t6487p450-communaute-redaction-des-actualites#288222
  2. If there's one thing that Chima has done well from the start(even in the show), it would be the world building. I think they've done a really good job with the world, so we probably don't need to tamper with it all that much. Also, now that you mention players, I'm a little concerned about the number of people that will actually play this. Honestly, Chima isn't the most popular line among folks on BZP, so I'm not sure if there will really be all that many people playing...
  3. I certainly like the idea of fleshing out the tribes' governments. Could be interesting. Also, for play ability's sake, we had better make the "dumb" tribes less dumb, or nobody will want to play them. Perhaps the rhinos should stay on the "dimmer" end of things, but instead of being dumb in the cartoony way that they are on the show, they could be sort of tough and thugish, but not educated. Not incompetent, just not well informed. For the gorillas, we could keep their "close to nature" motif, but instead of hippies, they could be more like "savages". Not savage as in vicious, but savage as in a less developed society. I imagine that they would use a barter and trade system(to the ravens' delight). For leadership, they have a sort of faith in nature where they would wait for a chosen one(the chosen one would be the silverback). The crocs would probably have more of a classical monarchy than the lions, having a ruling family that intermarries or marries aristocrats of the tribe. It would just be up to chance whether the leader is good or not. I assume they would have a capitalist economy for trade with other tribes, if nothing else(The only big tribe with boats. Crocodile shipping companies would have quite the monopoly on the shipping industry).
  4. Well, when I'm talking about secret order, I wasn't thinking lions, I was thinking more of a multi-species organization. Also, what about a sort of anarchy setting where instead of there being the current tribes(grouped by animal), creatures of different species have to get together and form their own "tribes"?
  5. Well, I'm pretty sure that lego's pushing the first six month's bad guys as good guys now, and it would only make sense to use them as such seeing as we have both outland and ice tribes for baddies. I think it would be kind of interesting for the third group to be a "secret order" type group that fights for the balance of nature in chima.(or something like that) They could be a multi species group that attacks one side or the other, depending on who has more power. (in the interest of keeping the war balanced, if we make that their motive.)
  6. Bionicle>Ninjago>one year playthemes/Chima>City>HF(I really only like it for the looks. the story is poor at best.)
  7. First, the bats fly the spiders up to clog the falls with webs. Second, chi solidifies inside the mountain and gets stuck in the webs. Lastly, there becomes too much solid chi at the entrance of the falls for the water to pass through. As for the pressure part, "Chima logic" is the best explanation.
  8. What did he say? I might have missed it. He ranted Laval for not telling everyone about how the dark tribes were created by the Chi he dropped into the gorge, calling him untrustworthy. My favorite characters are Razar, Crominus, and Lavertus.
  9. Honestly, it depends on what condition the set is in. I find it rather easy to find second-hand sets for a decent price on bricklink, and as said before, it can be a good idea to test your luck with ebay "lots". However, finding sealed sets is an entirely different story. It's not impossible to find sealed sets, but you'd better be willing to fork up quite a bit of money to get them. I'm talking 150-some odd dollars for Tahu Mata on Amazon! And while that's a rather extreme example, most sealed set's are quite over priced.
  10. I'm guessing you didn't read the forum rules, huh?
  11. Wow. It's kind of hard to believe there isn't already a topic like this! Anyways, with Chima it's pretty clear that the TV show is the main medium for expressing the story, so I'd like to give everyone a place to express their opinions on the show thus far and speculate, discuss, and perhaps even(non-flame) argue about the storyline! Also, before you run wild, I would appreciate it if you hide season two discussion in spoilers for those people who haven't seen any of it yet. (I'll add my own thoughts when I have the time)
  12. MeltDown, because insanity and nuclear waste go so well together.
  13. I'll be editing the tags as I make more banners, that way you can keep up with what tribes have banners without even looking at the post.
  14. lol panda tribe. I'd really appreciate it if you could get some good screenshots! I have gotten some three different screenshots of the Lions, Eagles and Wolves but I don't think the Lion one look good at all so I may try and find a better one later. I'll definitely be using the eagle one. When you're looking for more can you find them in their corresponding locations?(lions in front of their temple, wolves at their camp, etc)
  15. They look pretty nice. I'll probably end up getting cragger's thingymadoohickey.
  16. lol panda tribe. I'd really appreciate it if you could get some good screenshots!
  17. 1. Ravens 2. Crocs 3. Wolves (I'd also like to add scorpions, but I'm going to leave it at top 3)
  18. That about sums up the first season. I can't say for sure that you'll like the second, but I must admit that I certainly am. Although, that's in comparison with the first, so really not saying much overall.
  19. The rest of the first season is about the same in quality, albeit a little faster paced. The second season is much higher quality with a driving plot and convincing villains. Also, assuming it's the pacing you're worrying about, the second season is set in a state of urgency and and the main plot line is based around a quest into dangerous lands, so it's alot better in that respect.
  20. Thank you, Black Six. I kind of adjusted the croc banner in some respects. I think it looks alot better now.
  21. So, in the spirit of the month, I figured I'd exercise my gimp "skillz" and put together some banners for each tribe in chima. Once they're all completed, you guys can "represent" your favorite tribe. I would have more done currently, but I'm having trouble finding pictures for them. the main thing is that I can't find good backgrounds that are screenshots from the show with a few of the tribe members in an appropriate setting. If you want to help out, finding such pictures (similar to the one I have for the crocs) would be great! Never-the-less, there ARE more coming, just be patient. Finding these pics is harder than it should be. Anyways, here's the first one (for the crocs): Eagles: (thanks to ShadowWolfHunt for the background pick!) Ravens: Scorpions:
  22. The second season is far better than the first as far as I'm concerned. The first season was more along the lines of whiny animal teenagers making big political decisions and screwing up left and right. The second season is about the backlash of the first and how the now, somewhat more mature characters are trying to restore the peace and stop the new foe. In short, yes, as painful as it may be to watch the first, the second is certainly worth it.
  23. Well that was... Underwhelming. I thought it'd be a prank. Oh well, I guess that's what the spinnies are for.
