The Mask of Ice

IC: (Uar)Heuani's obscene slaughter of the two Toa filled Uar with disgust. Moreover, the Lightstone, their strongest weapon against Shadow beings, had been destroyed. Looking at the infuriating smile on the Toa of Shadow's face nearly drove him to recklessly slash at him, but considering a more hit-and-run approach, with less of a risk of having your neck broken or being dısmembered. Zipping around the battlefield, he sent buzz saws of ice hurtling at the Toa's legs and head. He then dashed with his Kakama, getting near enough so he could deliver a quick slash with his scythe and dash back out of reach.OOC: Uar, a Toa of Ice wearing a Kakama and wielding a scythe is attacking Heuani by flinging sharp disks of ice at his head and legs, and then dashing in with his mask to deliver a quick blow with his weapon and dash back.

IC: (Uar)Uar moved into the Hive, acting more cautiously due to the lack of much light. He asked Dekuna: "So, what's the next target?"

IC: (Ckase - Near Housing District)From outside the city borders, I surveyed the battle between the Technans and Hackers. As I neared the skirmish, watching for any attacks which might come my way, I sent a confusing stream of data through the comm implants of many of the Technans at the front lines in order to aid my side in the battle.

IC: (Uar)"'Kay then..." Uar replied just as he turned toward the hive wall and started raining down a barrage of icicles as fast as he could. By the time he had expended all his elemental energy, the particular spot of the wall he was focusing on was quite battered and weakened.

OOC: To tell the truth, I think charging in there with a small group is going to get us all killed, but why not?IC: (Uar)As the three Rahkshi guarding the tunnel entrance fell one by one, Uar saw Dekuna being battered from all sides on Aki-Nui. Zipping to his side, slashing up a few Nui-Rama in the process. "Need a hand?" he asked the Toa of Sonics as he flung a disk of ice at the insects.

IC: (Uar)A bolt of shadow nearly took Uar's head off as he ran, still slashing through the swarm. He looked up reflexively, seeing a Toa sitting on a high-up ridge, flicking down bolts of darkness. Uar stopped midway in preparing an elemental attack, knowing that attracting the attention of a possibly very powerful minion of Makuta might get him killed, probably in a very grisly and painful way. He continued running around, more warily this time, and keeping closer to the main bulk of the ground squad. Seeing one of the Rahkshi battling the strike force, he conjured up a razor-sharp, spinning disk of ice, and flung it, spinning, at the Rahkshi's lower body, attempting to sever it off, or at least weaken it.OOC: Uar, a Toa of Ice armed with a scythe, has flung a disc of ice at one of the Rahkshi fighting the strike force. The disk targets the Rahkshi's lower body in an attempt to sever it.

IC: (Ckase - Krahzia)Having informed Hacker Command of the rogue AI, I felt relieved. I then resumed walking the city streets.OOC: Ckase open for interaction.

IC: (Ckase - Krahzia)As I continued walking the streets, I remembered that I had to contact Ryjak to inform him of the rogue AI. ckase:neuralchipcd contactsdirectory: Contactsmsg Ryjak(secure)Type in message:Sir, I think I have uncovered something big. A rogue AI, whose main databanks are located in the Techna-Nui's wreck, is apparently trying to reconstruct the ship. It has already rebuilt the security systems, having assembled a large number of Vahkii. From my interactions with it, I have seen that the AI holds little regard for life-forms, and may choose to eradicate us, if not the entire planet. It is crucial that this matter is looked into.Message sentexit()logoutI then hoped that the message would reach him.

IC: (Uar)Now seeing the Rama trying more evasive tactics, speedily flying into the squad in small groups, Uar decided it was time to start using his elemental powers in the fight. He retreated to the rest of the squad, then, seeing a group headed to them from the side, swung his scythe at it, creating a large spinning, razor sharp disc of ice, and flung it at the insects. The disc cut through most of the group, killing nearly all of them.

IC: (Uar)The moment he heard Vompran's order, Uar joined the regrouped ground squad, and started skirting around the group's outskirts, quickly picking off any Rama who came to close to the strike force. He gulped at the thought of six Rahkshi of Teleportation, who could, at any moment, appear in their midst and slaughter them.

IC: (Uar)The Toa of Ice suddenly came to. He was still lying on the battlefield, away from the real center of action. Though still feeling dizzy and sick, he felt better, and activated his mask, dashing off recklessly and chopping at the Nui-Rama...

IC: (Ckase - Krahzia)I had run off to an alleyway the moment I saw the swarm of bats. As I watched the Toa of Lightning fire a few bolts at the assailant, who had created many illusory copies of himself, I recognized him. Thazris, a powerful and skilled Hacker, who'd lived a life of luxury thanks to bribes aboard the Techna-Nui. What he was attacking the Toa for, I only had the wildest guess about. A Techna spy, someone who he simply didn't like... the possibilities raced through my mind.OOC: @Toa Levacius Zehvor is it okay if Ckase recognizes Thazris? Thazris's profile doesn't indicate any anonymity aboard the Techna-Nui, and keeping in mind that wealth attracts attention...

IC: (Ckase - Krahzia)"Who were you going to use that bomb on anyway?" I asked, changing the subject.OOC: Won't be able to post for the rest of the day.

IC: (Uar)As the numbness got worse, Uar felt his vision get blurry, and started reacting with a barely noticeable delay, which steadily got bigger. What was worse, he couldn't muster enough concentration to activate his mask, effectively neutralizing his primary mode of attack. All he could do now was fire sharp slivers of ice into the fray, occasionally hitting a Nui-Rama, but still causing only minimal damage. He stumbled to the rim of the area, close to where the rest of the group was. As he concentrated the last of his elemental energy into a large, spinning blade of ice sent spinning towards the swarm with his scythe, decapitating a few of the insects, Uar finally collapsed and lost consciousness.OOC: Won't be able to post for the rest of the day.

IC: (Enara)As she watched for Uar, Enara had been completely oblivious to the approaching swarm. By the time she had, both the strike force and the swarm were so absorbed in the battle that she had enough time to vacate to a hiding place and wait out the battle. However, one of the giant insects decided to investigate her location, and had nearly stabbed her with its stinger if not for her drawing both her sword and slicing its head off.IC: (Uar)Uar had jumped into battle after Lema, and had been zipping around the battlefield, slicing off a few Nui-Rama heads, and maiming a few. A stinger grazed him, and he felt a numbness slowly spreading from his side: The venom had taken effect.

IC: (Ckase - Krahzia)I was growing steadily bored with the deranged Matoran. "What, so you're some kinda activist?" I said sarcastically, knowing that the insane's criteria for judging good and bad people was usually wether they liked them or not.

IC: (Uar)"My quarrel's not with you. That Vortixx's out to kill me!" Uar said after nearly colliding with Lema.

IC: (Uar)Why now?.. Uar thought as he spotted another Toa sprint towards him in pursuit. He then started racing rings around his pursuer, frequently changing direction and attempting to tire him out.

IC: (Enara)"A lanky Toa of Ice wearing a Kakama and carrying a scythe. He's right there." She pointed to where she last saw Uar. She had gestured towards an empty patch of ground. "What the..?" exclaimed as she noticed the absence of the Toa anywhere near the lake.IC: (Uar)Uar had got an inexplainable feeling of being watched. He looked around, just to be sure, and spotted a shadow, undeniably that of a Vortixx. That meant trouble, if he had guessed correctly who that was. He sprinted off into the forest surrounding the lake, not going too deep into the trees, escaping the line of sight of the Vortixx watching him.OOC: Won't be able to interact for about 3 to 4 hours.

IC: (Enara)"I'm just looking for someone." Enara replied.

OOC: Of course not. IC: (Enara - Pala-Koro Outskirts)Slightly startled by the sudden appearance of the Toa of Air, she replied:"Haven't you heard? They're planning an attack on the Nui-Rama Hive, and this is their base." she gestured towards the lake.

IC: (Uar - Pala-Koro)"So, how much time until the attack?" Uar asked Vompran.IC: (Enara from Onu-Wahi)Having stalked Uar and the group through the jungle, Enara saw the Toa of Ice speed off through the jungle. Assuming the group was headed the same way, she followed the quietly from he treetops from about half a kio away, and finally saw them stop near a lake, with Uar sitting by it. With a large number of Gukko by the lake, she inferred that this was the base for the much-talked-about attack on the Nui-Rama Hive. All she would have to do now was wait...

OOC: Wait, what did "quedar" mean again?IC: (Ckase - Krahzia)"You need many things of fire? What do you mean by 'They help bad people?'" I asked, puzzled, but vaguely recognizing some words resembling that of Matoran.

IC: (Ckase - Krahzia)"For whom?" I asked, trying to get the Matoran's attention.
