Why not? Balances the element-gender ratio a bit, and plus I'm pretty sure an in-story explaination could be somewhat similar to what they did with psionics: males too violent to control such strong element, switch to more "gentle" female one.

Kualus has my vote on this one. All other Toa of Ice are mor or less copy-paste versions of one archeotype, while Kualus was sorta unique with his bird tongue, weirdness, awesome mask and weapons. Would've been nice to see what happened to him if the serials continued.

One archetype? What about Matoro, with his rich backstory, kind manner, and inferiority complex? Sure, Kopaka and Nuju weren't exactly worlds apart, but I would argue that Matoro is not from the same mold.

He was separate from the bunch, had good development too I gues, but I'm not a fan of Matoro to be honest. :/

I think what bothered me about it is the simplicity of building basic a torso for characters. You could argue that the Inika build was the same, sure, but at least then we had more ability to customize the creations and make their body types different from each other. I guess it boils down to that CCBS doesn't have small enough pieces to customize a creation, not to mention the black base structure..

I thought Kanohi predate the Matoran.

I'm pretty sure that the Matoran were the first beings that were created and wore Kanohi. Actually thinking about it, since he was the first Matoran, it's sort of logical that he would have worn the mask that symbolizes the Great Spirit, since Takua was meants to have a destiny later on in the GB Civil War and was originally created with inherent sapience unlike other Matoran.

Idk just a thought.

My guess? He's actually fast, he just moves slowly in front of everyone else. He only moves quickly when no one's looking/when other Matoran blink so it seems like he's teleporting.

Mayber, just maybe he's self concious about his speed in front of others so he goes really slow? Maybe he's a marathon runner: going relatively slow, but covering great distances in the long run.

Eh, I hope gendered tribes aren't a thing anymore, but I do see all of them as male due to the "father to son" thing.

 

However, I really love the idea of some of them eing younger and less experienced than other protectors due to the fathers tragedy, it gives them some more character. Like I see PoF as a 50 year old man, PoI as an 18 year old, PoE a 35-something trigger happy jokster, PoJ as a serious 65 year old quiet sage, PoW as a 25 year old who is getting comfortable with his role, qnd PoS a 45 year old tribe leader who rules with a strong but graceful hand.

But hey, that's just me.

Smal sets for me would *shocker* the Mahri sets. Now hear me out, the Hydruka were god awful, however the Matoran design they introduced that year was marvelous to me both in terms of size, complexity and appearance.

 

The big sets I went with the Mahri. Great poseability, interesting designs, freshest of the Inika-like waves. Plus they're my favorite team of Toa/Matoran so yeah, they're the guys that have been around since day 1.

 

Finally with villians, I went with the Makuta. Their designs were great and mostly unique, but not awkward, compared to the many other vilians we saw.

 

If we were to chose from Titans, I wpuld say Brutaka, Maxilos in close second.

I think someone should explain to him what happened maybe, but im also fine with the Makuta havin same powers. Soo yeah.

8) Why do you assume the Rahkshi have different powers there? Any of those powers could be used by a hero -- for example, a plant menace threatens a major city, so the hero uses poison to stop it. A bunch of bank robbers are threatening people, so the hero uses their fear power to make them too scared to shoot anyone. Etc.

Headcanon is that he has a glitch that gives him some time-space warping abilities, that's about it. This is one of the few things I'm okay with being not explained by canon.

Movie version is canon. Technically so is the set, but less precise. A similar thing can be seen with Glatorian weapons in the movie: the unpowered ones were presented differently from the Ignika upgraded ones, while they were identical in set.

 

But then again, movies have gotten weapons and traits (Onewa's and Toa Hordika's weapons, Rahaga copters) wrong in the past, but I feel that the overall bionechanical depiction of characters in movies is the more accurate one.

Maybe he just grabbed it out of Mangai, or the OoMN member Toa Canister, or found it on Voya Nui. All three are equally as likely IMO.

s to why he wears one, I would imagine it gives him some sort of security to hide his back since he has no spine? I mean he is the brighter side of Vezok, and if I was smarter than the average Skakdi I would freak out if I disn't have one of my species defining features and try to cover the embareasement.

Or maybe he just wears it cuz he wants to feel powerful and great, which is ironic given his powerless nature, since, you know, he's crazy and all.

I'm pretty sure it was a noble Pakari... But don't quote me on that, rather wait for fishers to come up with a GF quote confirming (or not) that.

Honestly, I wish we got 4-6 Matoran instead of the underwater Rahi-goat things.. So pointless. I liked how we got Dume's and Iruini's mask in recolors, but this would have been a really goot time to do recolors of Metru masks, maybe even Lhikan's Hau. What I would have liked to see is 6 Matoran eith the following masks:

-Dekar as he is

-Defilak as he is

-black Mahiki (Matau) for Gar

-blue Matatu (Vakama) for Kyrehx

-red Komau(Nuju) for unknown Ta Matoran, former Pit prisoner of Matoran Civil War that has rejoined Mahri Nui's society seeking redemption.

-white Rau (Nokama) for unknown Ko Matoran who's a sentinel along with Kyrehx

 

I wouldn't make any alterations to Sadra and Idris as they were released as a special set.
