The mask of creation I think is something close of looking like the Gen 2 but still at least a little different. Also with the 10ft tall thing, what would his size be in he was a set?
I'd say probably titan height -- think Brutaka.

It'd have to be the Kanohi Kraahkan, on both counts. Seeing the darkness in people's hearts and being able to manipulate their emotions is just so... tantalizing.
Oh, and shadow powers would be cool, too.

Yup. It's a great design from an aesthetic standpoint but the fact that it foreshadows the truth behind the island is mindblowing. Really amazing promotional images.
When the twist was first revealed, I looked back upon the posters - The infected Kanohi dualism, the Tahnok Kal etc. and it just came all together. Really impressive.

Which Tahnok-Kal image are you referring to?

I don't know anything about "Tales of the Tohunga", but I do know that BIONICLE: Quest for the Toa is a canon depiction of Takua's quest to find the Toa Stones and summon the Toa Mata. It takes place immediately before the first Mata Nui Online Game.

We don't know it died. It is a spider after all, maybe it webbed to safety only to come back stronger than ever... Spiders are very resilient and can come back from comparable falls that would otherwise kill other life forms.
You're right, but the reason that spiders (and other arthropods) can deal with such big falls is because of their small mass, which prevents gravity from having such a great effect on them. The LoSS, on the other hand, is bigger than an islander -- it probably can't claim that same resilience.

That was me. It seems to make sense; I guess she basically works like a Mask of Emulation.

Would have made an interesting serial - Hydraxon vs Hydraxon (or the Journey's of Hydraxon and Hydraxon)

Oh hey I got a shout out, lol. Yeah The island could be any range of sizes. Though the maps all show possible land masses but no settlements it is possible that the island is huge on the level of Pangaea, and small tribal villages would not be large enough to be seen. Or on the flip side it could be but one of several land masses. I mean we know of Okoto and Island/continent in Gen2 but has anything really been revealed on it's size? I mean we could be getting something the size of this:
Or it could be the size of Australia, or even as small as Hawaii's main island. That in turn with the unknown size of the planet could lead to the very strong possibility that there are not only other Island settlements on this here planet but each would hold it's own Mask maker(s).
The only thing we know about Okoto's size is that the Toa and Protectors "traveled for weeks" to get from their landing sites to their mask shrines. That implies that the wilds are quite large, but I don't know exactly how large -- it could be that it took a long time simply because the terrain was very hazardous.
....Although I probably should have read the rest of the thread before replying, the point still stands.

The poem's not mine; it was composed by logicalabsurdity and translated by Tolkien. I thought it was a very fitting choice as Krakua's last song. So did L.A.

The story team probably made this ambiguous on purpose, so that the audience would wonder where he is and what he could be up to. Which is more menacing: a Makuta who has been "laid to rest" in a tomb with Ekimu, or a Makuta whose whereabouts are unknown and could be anywhere?

Really, it's no contest -- both of them are soundly defeated by the Toa Metru.
This gives me a picture of the Toa Metru fighting the combined forces of the Inika and the Nuva.
Although I do strongly agree with what you were really trying to say, I must admit that the odds of the Toa Metru against either of those teams in battle are not particularly high.
Well, that's true: in terms of direct power level, both the Toa Nuva and the Toa Inika are substantially stronger than the Toa Metru. My preference for the Toa Metru, as I'm sure you anticipated, is derived from their unique and appealing personalities, dynamics, and characterization.
However, here's something to consider: the Toa Metru often won their battles by deducing and exploiting their enemy's weaknesses, and/or by setting creative traps and ambushes, whereas the Toa Nuva and Toa Inika often just fought the enemy head-on. Given the right circumstances, the Toa Metru might be able to defeat those Toa through guile and ingenuity alone. Still, there are a lot of variables to be considered, so it's hard to say who would actually win.

But since they weren't an option, I voted for the Toa Nuva. Although I vastly preferred the Ignition saga to any of the years spent on Mata Nui, I will always have a soft spot for the first sets/characters that introduced me to BIONICLE. (The Toa Mata are also, incidentally, the only Toa team that I ever completely collected.) They didn't undergo very much character development, but that's fine by me, because I'm of the opinion that their personalities were nearly perfect to begin with.

I don't want Makuta to be the villian, I want him to be 'chaotic-good', being a rogue, but helping the Toa only when there's something in it for him.
You're describing a Neutral alignment. A Chaotic Good character would help the Toa whenever there were people that needed help.

Well, he said he didn't give it a power... not necessarily that it didn't exist...
I still like that Kraata-Kal idea.
Seconded. Can't we all just agree to use this headcanon? It satisfies all camps: the TOK fans get a (fanon) storyline role, and the anti-canonization folks get to avoid throwing another unnecessary Kraata power into the mix.

(to each their own though.)
Agreed. I can completely understand why some people like the Visorak and are glad that they are canonically alive. I simply never had a large fondness for them.
I actually liked the Visorak, but I thought it was quite right for them to be killed off. Their role in the story was over and done with -- they'd been sitting in the background for two years and weren't contributing anything -- and killing them off was a great way to show how serious the Destiny War was going to shake things up.
Why Teridax would have possibly resurrected them just to serve as maintenance workers is beyond me.

All of these made-up numbers and percentages are giving me horrible flashbacks to Skyward Sword.

You know, I'm pretty sure I explained a few pages back exactly why it would devalue Krika's story for him to come back at this point. There was a big bonesiii debate and everything. *sigh*
Oh well. Popularity's long since overpowered reasoning on this one, rather like the classification of Pluto. Nothing to be done about that.

Was it not the virus TSO stole?
It's true that the Shadowed One now possesses a copy of the virus that put Mata Nui to sleep. However, this fact is really not relevant to the discussion at hand, which is how Makuta was able to administer that virus.

4. Uh, what? Care to explain that bit, because I don't think ANYONE knew Velika's plan. The CGB was locked up due to being cursed by the Ignika, not because he knew someone's plans.
I suspect the IGB in the previous cliffhanger is preparing to counter Velika's move; he's the only one who knew Velika's plan and was 'removed' prior to the MU launch.4. Velika- Speaking of GB's losing it, this one seems like he could be a bit of a problem. Especially considering that he's just about ready to obliterate the fortress that #3 has conveniently gathered some of the most important characters in the story. (#RIPTrenKrom)
*cough* Long ago, in the time before time, the Great Beings lived and worked. Amongst their number were great friends, and great enemies. Knowing that their world was to end, they built a giant robot. Yet the one that would be known as Velika yearned for greater things. "Would it not," he said, to his friend and confidant as they labored over the greatest Mask of Power, "be more fitting for us to guide the robot from within, ensuring its mission is completed?"
"Fear not," his friend said, "for the robot is well programmed, and will continue in its task unguided."
Velika paused at this, and replied, "I have a machine, one that would allow us to enter a matoran and view the machine's workings."
His friend looked at him in horror. "No. That machine must be destroyed, for the robot must operate without our intervention."
Velika felt alarm. That machine was his pride and joy. He would allow no man to destroy it. He looked at the mask they were creating. "Look at this beauty," he reached down as if to touch it, but stayed his hand. "I believe it has cooled enough for the container."
The other Being created a single finger against the edge of the mask, not knowing that this would bring a curse down on him. A curse that would lead me to being locked away, unable to stop the one known as Velika from entering your universe, and unbalancing the world. I know who he pretends to be, and I will teach you how to defeat him. He is outside now. We don't have much time.
While it's an interesting idea, it's still unconfirmed. There's nothing in the story to suggest that this happened.

Yes... and since Lord of Skull Spiders is just about the least popular set they've ever sold, I doubt they'll have a favorable opinion of beast sets. :/
You're definitely jumping the gun in judging LoSS's reception based solely on early reviews by adult fans. There's no telling how well it will sell, but from what I've seen public reception of the set has been a great deal more positive than early reviews would suggest. And considering it'll be the only dedicated villain set until at least the summer, I imagine it'll be fairly popular with new fans who just want a villain to go with their first Toa, whether or not it has the posability longtime fans have come to expect.
I agree with this, where did you get that information from? Is it just a personal opinion? I don't really rate the LoSS very highly myself but that doesn't mean the whole world agrees.
The fact of the matter though is that the LoSS is NOT a particularly good looking set (certainly one of the weakest of the initial release) and they could undoubtedly have done better. So even it it has performed badly, that's not because people don't want to buy beast sets but more because people don't want to buy badly designed beast sets.
All matter of opinion of course, I do agree that it's probably the weakest performing set though...
Some of my friends and acquaintances have gone out to buy BIONICLE sets, and found that all of the sets are gone -- except the Lord of Skull Spiders. That's the only evidence on which I based that claim, and I'm willing to admit that it might be wrong. It's certainly not up to scientific standards. It's just the impression I got from others' accounts.
Personally, I am ambivalent about the set. The fact that it has six legs does bother me... but then again, almost none of the many arthropods in BIONICLE have had the right number of limbs, so maybe I should just learn to let it go.

Still, we may not see any wildlife on Okoto. The story team seems to be avoiding any kind of worldbuilding this time around. (Well, besides the strange details we see in the animations, such as the statues in the desert temple.) I think that's an awful shame, but I can understand their motivations.
Surely it's all down to how well LEGO thinks that beast-sets sell?

One of the most endearing and intriguing aspects of the wildlife in early BIONICLE was how weird it all was. Instead of your standard lions, tigers, and bears, oh my, BIONICLE's wilds were populated by giant scorpions, crabs, hive insects, and whatever the heck Tarakava were supposed to be. Even the Muaka and Kane-Ra, the most "ordinary" creatures on the island, had massive treads in place of hind legs. I hope Okoto's ecosystems are just as bizarre and out-of-the-box as Mata Nui's. (Making them out of combiners or alternate models, as NotS suggested above, would be one way to accomplish that.)

I'd make Lewa and Kopaka female because Wairuha
That was my exact thinking when I was four years old and just getting into BIONICLE. Unfortunately, that headcanon became harder and harder to maintain when I read more of the story material.

"By dealing with miniscule effects and a vague power description, we have the problem of trying to figure out not just its limits, but what it can actually do in the first place!"
But usually this is only difficult if you make it difficult.
If you just think about it intuitively the way people do about chance all the time ("If I'd been a second later I'd have been in that wreck!" and so forth), it's easy!
Usually.
...
"And everything from the Kakama to the Hau - and even the Mohtrek! - has a description which makes its effect upon activation rather clear. "Possibilities" does not, really."
Lots of us seem to be getting it quite easily, Katuko. I don't agree. See above.
...
Maybe you didn't happen to think of these things, and that's cool. But others have.
...
"The bio on both BS01 and Wikia is a single sentence which doesn't even cite an example!"
Maybe because almost everybody intuitively gets it and none of the editors felt it was necessary?
bonesiii, do you remember when I called you out on being really (I presume accidentally) condescending and putting down your opponent's intelligence?
You're doing it again.

Aerixx was making a painful and already dated reference to a ridiculous Internet sensation, the name of which I really don't have to mention and won't. No one thinks any less of you for not getting the joke. In fact, I actually have more respect for you for not picking up on it.
