Six years prior, early on a Sunday morning, the young boy that would soon be known as SPIRIT logged onto his computer. He had visited the BIONICLE fansite known as BZPower a few times to look for BIONICLE-related news and he decided that it was high time that he joined himself. With that, he clicked the button marked "Become a Member" and tried registering for an account name that he thought he would like to have: SPIRIT. Having not seen any other SPIRITs on the forums, it came as little surprise when it worked. And with that, a new age was born...

In the year 2043 A.D., under the new world order, SPIRIT arose to become Supreme Overlord of the World and June 1st became a national holiday, celebrating not only the anniversary of his membership on BZPower, but also the day that his ground forces destroyed the last settlement of the free world. Citizens wear images of blue Faxons on their sleeves to remember that on that day in the year 2009, SPIRIT was denied his Faxon due to a server glitch.

Yeah, that was an excerpt from a history text book I got from the future.

"Helloooooooo! Hola, velcomen, bienvenue, konichiwa, aloha, how you doin'?, yo, and in any language, welcome to LEGO Island!"

    *nostalgic sniffle*

    Ah, the good old days...

So I just figured out how to get the game working on my computer and oh the memories. It's actually a little startling how far graphics have come along since the 90s and laughable at how cutting edge this game once was. All the same, it's still loads of fun. Granted, I've lost some of my manoeuvring talent over the past decade, but I still managed to get a red or a blue in every race (and I remember when my whole score cube was red...).

I also got some of the jokes that just whipped over my head as a kid. Like Dr. Clickitt's comment about being on the golf course while I drive the ambulance and then wondering where the golf course actually is.

I saved the island from the Brickster too for like the billionth time. You'd think they'd have figured out pizza-resistant locks by now. I only lost a few buildings on that one and did considerably better than my early attempts way back in the day when stopping him was just beyond my arrow key pressing dexterity.

Now I have all the game music stuck in my head. Not that that's a bad thing, but it sure does bring back the memories...

So, I had been under the impression that LEGO cancelled my Club Magazine subscription as I haven't gotten a magazine in over a year. Turns out my dad has been throwing them away because he mixed up the Club Magazine with the LEGO Catalogue. :annoyed2:

I have done it. 100 000 years of events cobbled together into a coherent series of events. The BIONICLE Reference Centre's timeline is fully up to date! Have a look, let me know what you think, and please let me know if there are any mistakes.

And now, I embark on a new, top secret project for the Reference Team. All very hush-hush for now, but I'm pretty sure you'll like the end product. To my knowledge, nothing of this sort has been done before and I think it's about high time it has been.

That's all I say for now, but stay tuned for some very fancy Reference Keeping.

    A PS3.

I also got LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Prince Caspian for it, but I'm hoping to get more games in the coming weeks, preferably ones that actually have Trophies enabled so that I can feel as though I've accomplished something while not actually having done anything at all. Any suggestions?

Some of you may have seen my BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn countdown and others might remember the one I made in anticipation of the release of Deathly Hallows. Well, now that I've got a template in place, I decided to make some for the new Harry Potter movie coming out July 17.

Also, some credit would be nice.

P.S. In terms of file size, the first one is 18.8 KB and the second one is 20.0 KB.

EDIT: They've pushed the release date forward two days, so the banners have been updated accordingly.

So Sisen and I thought we'd make our own versions of Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl, only a Harry Potter version. Let us know which one you like best.

    (Sisen's version).

My version is sung by a Dementor right after he's kissed Barty Crouch junior at the end of the fourth book, sucking out his soul.

    ----------------------------------

This was always the way Fudge planned
    It's his intention
Crouch was so pale and not tanned
    Lost his discretion
It is what, I'm used to
    Just wanna taste his soul
    I'm ravenous for him
    Caught my attention

    Chorus:
    I kissed a Crouch and he's soulless
The taste of him losing his mind
I kissed a Crouch 'cause Fudge told me
I hope Dumbledore don't mind it
    It felt so wrong
    It felt so right
Don't mean that he's dead tonight
    I kissed a Crouch and he's soulless
    He's soulless

Well, I just only know your name
    It's not a good one,
    You are my alimental game
    Dementor nature,
    It's just what,
    We guys do
    Just how they should behave
    My head looks really gross
    Cinch to obey

    Chorus

    Wizards they are so magical
Soft souls, and joy, so kissable
    Hard to resist so touchable
    Too good to deny it
Ain't no big deal, if innocent

    Chorus
  8. SPIRIT
So we lost just about six months there. Six months, though... sound familiar? That's right, the Time Slip. So look carefully, guys. There could be Av-Matoran in your midst!

Anyway, I didn't lose too much. Sure, the BIONICLE In Under 1:30 topic filled with people telling me how awesome I am was deleted, but there's a new version now. Also, praise the Great Spirit Makuta that I finished Wildfire on September 20th so that I didn't lose anything (all the same, I'm saving all my fanfics now). The BRC took a pretty bad hit, but I got a Google cache of the timeline, so I just need to convert that to BBCode and I'll be all set. Lastly, in a strikingly amazing bout of good fortune, the Mantax Facts PSA topic is now alive again so feel free to post there if you have not done so already.

So yeah, that's all I have to say about that.

    Also, this is Entry 100.
  9. SPIRIT
Alas, another year has gone by and we have more or less survived our hazardous journey.

"A journey to where?" you ask.

"Not where," I chide you. "When."

"What madness is this?" you cry.

"MADNESS?!" I reply. "THIS IS DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!"

Get out your Vahi, kids. It's time to travel one hour into the future for Daylight Savings Time! (Goodbye, my extra sleep. ) Sadly, the board's automatic DST update doesn't work for me so I had to change it manually. Make sure you check this too.

Also, turns out that in my Burn Stuff PSA, March 31st (i.e. the day "Burn Stuff" was created) was during EDT, not EST. Oops.
  10. SPIRIT
So in case you haven't seen it yet and for posterity's sake, here it is:

I wish Greg would bump off Norik so I could say,
"Alas, poor Norik! I knew him well..."

Well, that's just too good a pun to waste, so I'm considering sending the following message to Greg to see what he can do about it.

    Dear Greg,

It would really mean a lot to me if you were to have Norik killed in the storyline. Sure he's a popular character, but I think that my clever pun is far more important than his imaginary life or the happiness of the fans.

    Ever yours,

    SPIRIT Nuhrii the Metruan

    Think it'll work?

    1) Did you see Heroes last night? Well, I have the same headphones as Hiro.

    2) Have you ever seen Family First on the Canadian Family Channel? Well, I know the female host.

That's right, those two random connections to television make me cooler than you. B)
  12. SPIRIT
Got bored. Got an idea. Wrote a story.

It's supposed to fit within what's already been established for BZ-Nui. I dunno... I have mixed feelings about it since I don't think it's my best work. Check it out if you want, so that maybe you can get an idea of how to write a much better one yourself.
  13. SPIRIT
Not too much activity on the last follow up, but oh well. I'll just leave post-counts and proto alone for now unless someone gets some really good ideas. Now, however, onto the fun part.

So we've seen the map, we have a general idea of how things work, now let's get a better picture of each of the individual forums. To recap, the forums have been given their elements for the following reasons:

Fire: Bionicle Collectibles -- Ta-Matoran make masks.
Fire: LEGO Bionicle Sets -- Ta-Matoran make the parts for things like Vahki, etc.

Water: New Member Q&A -- Ga-Matoran are teachers.
Water: General Discussion -- Ga-Matoran talk a lot? (Kind of grasping at straws here. )

    Stone: Buy/Sell/Trade -- Po-Koro had a thriving marketplace in MNOLG1
Stone: Marketplace Banter -- (See above.)

Ice: Bionicle Storyline & Theories -- Ko-Matoran ponder the future.
Ice: Voting Booth -- Ko-Matoran use information they collect to extrapolate the future (also a bit of a stretch).

Air: Comedies -- Le-Matoran joke around.
Air: Bionicle Artwork III: Bionicle Comics -- (See above).

Earth: Bionicle Reference Center -- Onu-Matoran archive things and study the past.
Earth: Bionicle Movies & Books -- The tales told in the movies and books are about the past, which interests the Onu-Matoran.

Light: BZP Reference Desk -- Nothing more bright and painful to the eyes than a bunch of rules (also, it's like the "ultimate" element).
Light: BZPower.com News Discussion -- Shines a light into the darkness of ignorance (once again, mostly because it'd be unfair to give another forum Light).

Plasma: Completely Off Topic -- Plasma is full of energy and all over the place, just like COT.
Plasma: Bionicle Games & Trivia -- Once again, full of energy

Magnetism: Bionicle Software -- Information is often stored magnetically.
Magnetism: Fan-Made Games -- (See above.)

Plant Life: Bionicle Artwork I: General Art -- Plant Life is serene, graceful, and beautiful, just like artwork.
Plant Life: Bionicle Promotions -- Plants also try to spread themselves everywhere, which is what Promotions are for.

Gravity: LEGO General Discussion -- Gravity is things being held together, like LEGO sets.
Gravity: Bionicle Artwork II: Shops & Kits -- The various sprites and banners are also things that are being held together.

Iron: Bionicle Based Creations -- BIONICLE creatures are metallic and Fe-Matoran are industrious, building many things.
Iron: BBC Contest Voting -- (See above.)

Sonics: Epics -- De-Matoran like the quiet, making it easier for them to read.
Sonics: Short Stories -- (See above.)

Lightning: Bionicle RPG -- Nikila, the only Toa of Lightning we've seen, was a strategist and Tahnok-Kal was said to be the fiercest of the Bohrok-Kal. Sounds like an RPG player to me.
Lightning: RPG Contest Voting -- (See above).

Also, here is the map so you can see where each forum is roughly.

What I want from you is a small bio on each of the forums. Maybe a paragraph or so detailing scenery, lifestyle, and maybe a brief history if you want. You can submit as many as you want and we'll vote on the best in the next entry.

I'll get you started with the island of Hapori Nui.

BZP Reference Desk: Built on the remains of the ancient village of BZ-Koro, where the earliest colonists once lived, this region has since become the capitol of the BZ Nui archipelago. After the denizens branched out to the surrounding islands, the island was used as a central hub for maintaining order between the early settlements. Now a shining golden fortress stands there in whose many rooms the staff spend their leisure time, conduct official business, and where proclamations are made to the people of BZ Nui.

New Member Q&A: An entire coastline filled with schools to educate newer (and sometimes older) members on the workings of the site. Situated near to the official list of rules, it isn't difficult for students to quickly learn everything they need to know about membership. It is often frequented by experienced members and staff, especially Forum Mentors, to pass on their knowledge of the site.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Okay, at the end of Brother in Arms 7, Mazeka and Vultraz are transported to a strange land.
Here, the trees are banded with gold, massive beasts are disguised as lakes, and the roles of Toa and Matoran have been reversed.

    Then it hit me.

    They aren't in Spherus Magna.

    They're actually in...

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Soviet Russia!
Think about it! In Soviet Russia, you do not protect Matoran, Matoran protects you. In Soviet Russia, you do not swim in lake, lake swims in you. In Soviet Russia, you do not get confused by web serials, web serials get confused by you.

Turaga Dume's going to be behind all of this. Mark my words.

I'll take my next Golden Key to Nongu now.
  15. SPIRIT
Okay, this was a doozy. Here's what I've come up with, let me know your thoughts and whether you're strictly opposed to anything that's been decided here:

    1) What are members?

Most people liked my suggestion, but not so much the Makuta thing. To justify, what I meant was that they get the 42 Kraata powers and are charged with making sure the universe runs smoothly. If you still don't like it, then how about admins get to have Exo-Toa suits?

    2) How does BIONICLESector01 work?

Looks like it's a separate island on a different map. That was the original plan, but just wanted to see what people thought first.

    3) How does BIONICLE.com work?

Okay, this one was rather on the edge and most people wanted to leave it out. Going with TtW's idea somewhat, how about we just get news or such delivered from there, though we never visit it?

    4) Is there anything else that you can think of that has not been mentioned?

Just proto and post count needs to be explained, it seems. Um... any suggestions?
  16. SPIRIT
Okay, so checked the results and it looks like everything's staying the way it is.

Onto the next round of questions!

    1) What are members?

(Go wild on this one, but here's an idea to get you started; let me know whether or not you like it.)

    Hapori Tohu – Great Spirit
Admins – Makuta (Good Makuta that haven't banished their light and don't plan to take over the world)
Global Moderators – Adaptive Armour Toa Nuva
    Forum Leaders – Toa Nuva
    Forum Assistants – Regular Toa
----- (Above this line, members get a Suva, below it they do not) -----
    Forum Mentors – Regular Toa
    News Reporters – Toa Hagah
    Reference Team – Toa Inika
    Blog Assistants – Toa Mahri
OBZPCs – Copper Mask wearing Matoran
    Members – Matoran
    Emeritus Staff – Turaga

    2) How does BIONICLESector01 work?
a- It's located in the spot on Affili Island.
b- Separate island on a different map.
c- Not part of the canon.
    d- Other.

    3) How does BIONICLE.com work?
a- Separate island on a different map.
b- Not part of the canon.
    c- Other.

    4) Is there anything else that you can think of that has not been mentioned?

P.S. In defence of regular members being Matoran since some of you might find that a bit lame, might I remind you that the Voya Nui resistance nearly kicked the Toa Nuva's butts.
  17. SPIRIT
Okay, the survey's been out for a week, so let's see what people want.

    1) Is having the BIONICLE logo as the map with each forum section being an island a good idea? If not, what would be better?

Most people seemed to like the map, although Great Being #1 has proposed an alternative (see below).

    2) Do you agree with the island names? If not, what are some better ones you can think of?

Once again, no one had any major qualms with these. Terakk, though, has suggested some of his own (see below).

    3) Do you agree with the elemental designations of the forums? If not, what do you suggest?

Very few issues here, though see GB's map for his suggestions.

The other 3 :annoyed2:) Where should blogs go?

Voting was more split here, but the majority of you wanted it to go in people's homes.

    4) How do homes work?

This was probably the closest vote, but most people decided that you live in a home in one of the forums.

    So now the follow up:

    1) If things stay this way will you be so totally disgusted by this project that you'll boycott it entirely or can you live with it?

    2) a- Do you like GB's suggested map better than mine (barring the fact that mine is interactive)?
b- Do you like Terakk's island name suggestions (Pheskal, Zatovas, and Arventos) better than mine?

I'll tally up the results in a week or so and then we can move onto phase two!
  18. SPIRIT
Okay, so the general consensus seems to be that Project BZ Nui is a good idea. So here are a few preliminary questions concerning what's been established so far (try to be as helpful as possible in your answers).

    1) Is having the BIONICLE logo as the map with each forum section being an island a good idea? If not, what would be better?

    2) Do you agree with the island names? If not, what are some better ones you can think of?

    3) Do you agree with the elemental designations of the forums? If not, what do you suggest? (If need be, I can explain my justifications for each).

    3) Where should blogs go?
a - Underwater (like Mahri Nui).
    b - Their own island.
    c - On boats.
    d - In people's homes/on their property.
    e - Other (please specify).

    4) How do homes work?
    a - People choose a forum-village and live there.
b - People live on boats that travel from forum to forum.
    c - Other (please specify).
  19. SPIRIT
So remember that mysterious project I mentioned that I needed Flash to begin. Well, I've got Flash again and I have a preview ready for you:

LINK (Yes, I'm aware some of the words jump. I'm too lazy to fix those, so just live with it for now.)

Now before you go using the emoticon, allow me to explain. Throughout the ages, the rough concept of a BIONICLE-like version of BZP has been tossed about from time to time. Epics have been written, comics have been sprited... But I have a vision for more. If there's a general liking of this idea, what I envision is a large scale project to combine various media into a "canon" for BZ Nui. Writing, drawing, animating, RPGing, you name it. Also, anyone will be allowed to bring forth ideas, making it a real community project.

So what do you say? Is it a good idea or the worst thing you've ever heard of?
  20. SPIRIT
Okay, I'm not exactly going to say how, but I've come across a sneak preview of the next part of Destiny War. This takes place right after Axonn and Brutaka fall into the green liquid and leads right into the next part of their mission.

    Here it is.
  21. SPIRIT
Okay, so sometimes I'm pretty bad with updating my Message of the Fortnight, but the last I updated this current one was about six weeks ago. Well, the thing about that is that I'm currently in a period of transition with my Flash. I've ordered a copy of Flash CS4 (the latest version) and it's supposed to arrive at the end of October, but until such time, I'm afraid things are at a bit of a standstill. As for my old version of Flash, that's living on a virus-ridden computer several kilometres away from where I'm living now -- plus, it was a trial version, so it's not too much of a loss.

When I get my version of the brand new Flash, though, expect the unveiling a new secret project.
  22. SPIRIT
Don't pull the fire alarm at 2:00 AM, for starters.

So for those of you who don't know, I started university this fall and am now living on residence. So far, it's been a lot of fun meeting new people and getting accustomed to the campus. What hasn't been fun was last night where someone thought that it would be funny to pull the fire alarm when everyone was asleep. We all got up, got some sweaters on, and headed outside into the cold for twenty minutes while firefighters arrived.

Seriously, if you really want to be funny, go make a PSA or something.
