Something weird I just found out today. I am exactly one day older than Kristen Stewart, famous star of the Twilight movies...

What happened to my acting career?

Since I'm not really interested in going through the rigmarole of getting patents for these things, here are four inventions that need to exist. Go ahead, steal my ideas, just someone please invent them.

    1) An iPhone that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. All I want to do is have all the features of my iPod Touch, but also be able to make calls so that I don't have to carry around both my cellphone and my iPod. I don't want 4G Internet, GPS, or any of that crazy stuff, I just want to make calls and texts from my iPod Touch without the expensive smartphone plans.

    2) Brake lights on the front of cars. I can't tell you how many times I've seen cars approaching yellow lights when I'm turning left and I don't know if they're stopping or not. Seriously. Why can't the people in front of you know when you're braking? What's the big secret?

    3) WiFi adaptor for phone jacks/adaptor cable for wireless devices that can plug into a phone jack. As an owner of a Nintendo DS and an iPod Touch, I can't even name the number of times I've seen an open phone jack with access to the Internet, but no way to connect to it. Sure, wireless is nice and all, but not everywhere has it and there needs to be an alternate solution for those devices.

    4) Knee pads for baby pants. Simple one, really. Tired of your kids wearing out their pants by crawling around on the floor? Sell pants with built in knee pads. Problem solved.

So, hello everyone. Been kinda busy lately and I just thought I'd catch you guys up to speed on what's been going on.

As some of you may or may not know, I had a birthday on April 8th. As far as birthdays go, it was pretty lame. It was the second last day of class, so in wanting to know what to study for exams, I wasn't able to go home and instead had to stick around during the 8th and the 9th. I played a bit of LEGO Universe, so that was okay, but that was about it... The actual celebrating happened on the evening of the 9th, when I got to go home. There was cake and presents (most of which were travel-related, but more on that later), which was a large improvement on the previous day. After that, I got a whole week of no school until exams (which are done now, so I'm home for the summer), ordinarily, the perfect time to study, but if you know me, procrastination's the name of the game. So about the travel thing, I guess now is as good a time as any to announce it, starting in September, I'll be moving from Ontario, Canada and living in Nice, France for the year as I do a year of school abroad. Pretty excited for it and still partially unable to internalize it, so, this should be quite the adventure. Noticing a great deal on Future Shop for free shipping on orders of over $39, I decided to use some of my birthday money to purchase Pokémon HeartGold, Yu-Gi-Oh 5s Reverse of Arcadia, and a webcam. Both games deserve their own bullet points, but the webcam was pretty neat to try out, plus it was on sale. Ironically enough, they were delivered while I was in the garage searching for the C key from my laptop keyboard as mentioned in my previous blog entry... Now, I've never played a Yu-Gi-Oh game before (card game or otherwise), but the anime was always interesting with the twists and turns their card games took, so I figured "heck, how hard can it be?" Let's just say, whenever I manage to win a duel, I feel like the smartest freaking person on the planet. I haven't gotten very far yet, still getting my bearings as a duelist, but it's pretty fun, I have to say. Some of the subtler rules are a little hard to understand and it seems that sometimes the game picks and chooses when certain things apply, so to that I say, screw the rules, I have money (and a million nerd points if you got that reference or even care about this bullet point ). On Monday the 26th (yesterday), I got all four wisdom teeth out. So yeah, I've really gotta stop starting my summers with surgery... Still recovering from that (my face is already pretty swollen) and I'm excited for when I'll be able to eat solid food again. And rest assured, once I'm recovered sufficiently, I'll get around to doing the last chapters of my comedy. Speaking of which, the entries for the Comedy Contest have been posted and yes, I have entered. I'm intrigued to see how I do in this contest, given that I can no longer rely on the crutch of my reputation as I have been able to in past contests. I'll give you a hint as to which one it is, though: mine's the one with the Bohrok in it. And lastly, Pokémon has been fun. If there's any region I played to death in my younger days, it was Johto. Quite a few bursts of nostalgia going through this game, though, and I do like how your Pokémon follow you around. As I type this, I have just beaten the Elite Four for the first time with the following team:
Ampharos Lv.45 (Discharge, Thunder Wave, Focus Blast, Signal Beam)
Poliwhirl Lv.44 (Waterfall, Wake-Up Slap, Hypnosis, Belly Drum)
Togetic Lv.44 (Extrasensory, Magical Leaf, AncientPower, Fly)
Forretress Lv.45 (Bug Bite, Payback, Explosion, Spikes)
Mamoswine Lv.45 (Ice Fang, Avalanche, Earthquake, Mud Bomb)
Typhlosion Lv.45 (Flamethrower, Swift, Lava Plume, Defence Curl).
And that is what is new for me.

Has anyone else beaten Xi on Playstation Home yet (or even heard about it, for that matter )? I did this morning and managed to secure myself three shiny trophies.

But I will admit it, I had copious amounts of help from online walkthroughs.

Okay, this was a doozy. Here's what I've come up with, let me know your thoughts and whether you're strictly opposed to anything that's been decided here:

    1) What are members?

Most people liked my suggestion, but not so much the Makuta thing. To justify, what I meant was that they get the 42 Kraata powers and are charged with making sure the universe runs smoothly. If you still don't like it, then how about admins get to have Exo-Toa suits?

    2) How does BIONICLESector01 work?

Looks like it's a separate island on a different map. That was the original plan, but just wanted to see what people thought first.

    3) How does BIONICLE.com work?

Okay, this one was rather on the edge and most people wanted to leave it out. Going with TtW's idea somewhat, how about we just get news or such delivered from there, though we never visit it?

    4) Is there anything else that you can think of that has not been mentioned?

Just proto and post count needs to be explained, it seems. Um... any suggestions?

Ever had one of those days where so much dumb stuff happened that pretty much all you can say about it is "bleh"? Well even if you haven't, I'm too busy having a bleh day to care.

The day began, innocently enough at 9:00 AM when I set off to do some vollunteer work for my church. I kind of live far away from it, so I knew it was going to be a difficult walk with lots of bus rides, but I was okay with that. So I walked to the first bus stop and got there just as the bus pulled out which means I had to wait about 10 minutes for the next one, but that's okay, I wasn't in a hurry. The bus got there, I got on, no big deal. I rode the bus for about 15 minutes and I eventually got to my next stop (even though I probably should have switched buses at the train station, but it really didn't matter because it was only five more minutes of walking). After walking to the stop for the second bus, I waited around there for about half an hour until the bus finally came (since that street gets less traffic, the bus company can't afford to run buses by there more frequently). Another 15 minute ride and I was dropped off about 5 minutes away from the church so I walked there and started working. Four hours of cutting branches, pulling down trees, and picking up twigs later, I'm more or less done so I go home which takes pretty much the same amount of time except I ended up at the far reaches of my city because I took a different bus than the one that came every half hour. On my trip home, however, I tried to brush off what I thought was a leaf that had fallen on my head, only to find out that it was a wasp (which didn't like being brushed off and attacked ). Finally, at 4:00 PM, I made it home and was exhausted, hot, and insanely thirsty. I chugged down a quarter of the orange juice and half the apple juice (seperately, of course) and then collapsed down in front of the TV for an hour.

Well, at least it didn't rain.

So yeah, today's my half birthday. I can hardly believe it's been six months already since then and yet, so much has happened in that time.

I'd also like to take this time to mention three groups of people I don't like:

    1) Music snobs. Who do you think you are?! What gives you the right?!

    2) People who sign into IM programs with their status set to as "Away". Who do you think you are?! What gives you the right?!

    3) People who make short online videos with intros that are like twenty seconds long. Who do you think you are?! What gives you the right?!

Well, it's nearly 20 days since I got the weevil in my cereal and today I noticed an interesting e-mail from Kellogg Canada. They apologised greatly for the incident, thanked me for telling them their cereal was "unsatisfactory" (), and are going to send me reimbursement coupons in the mail. Whether or not I'm going to chance the cereal again once I get the coupons is debatable.

Now that they've appologised, though, I feel sorta bad about spazzing out on them. I mean, when I wrote the e-mail, it was pretty early in the morning and I was pretty tired since it was a Friday and all. Even so, I did almost get a little more crunch in my cereal than I wanted...

Either way, the moral of the story is that you should have waffles for breakfast.

    Thank Mata Nui it's Friday!

For me, this first week back to school has been really long and tiring (despite the fact that it was only four days because of Labour Day). Maybe it's because I'm not used to sitting at an uncomfortable desk for over an hour, getting up, and then going to sit at another uncomfortable desk for over an hour, but the days just seemed to drag on. It probably doesn't help that I have Bionicle Legends #3 and possibly 4 to look forward to on the weekend, or Vezon & Fenrakk and LEGO Star Wars II for the 12th.

My main issue is that I have so much less free time now. Back in the summer, I'd have several days to just fiddle around on BZPower or with other things (TotA, Wildfire, etc.), but now I'm lucky to even get in a few hours of that stuff. Well, I'll hopefully get used to all this again after a while, but even so...

    ... mais encore si loin...

Well, a few weeks ago, I asked LEGO to send me the March-April issue of LEGO Magazine and today I got a large caramel envelope from Enfield, Connecticut. I opened it up and inside were the LEGO catalogue and the missing issue of LEGO Magazine. So I quickly skipped to the middle to get to the comic, only to find that I had not quite gotten what I had asked for. At the top of the front page were the words, "BIONICLE LA BATAILLE POUR LE POUVOIR".

:annoyed2: LEGO had sent me the French version! Now, I can read French alright, but come on!

It was kind of interesting, though, to learn the French terminology for certain BIONICLE things as well as strange translations that were made.

The Brotherhood of Makuta is "La Confrèrie de Makuta". The Great Spirit is "Le Grand Esprit" (which is odd, since the French version of Legends of Metru Nui says "L'Esprit Divin"). The word they use for "rider" (in reference to the corrupted Matoran) translates to "jockey". Shadow Leach is "sangsue de l'ombre" (bloodsucker of shadow) A Tridax Pod is "une nacelle Tridax" A lightvine is "une vigne lumineuse". Chirox calls Vamprah his boyfriend. Skyboard is "planeur céleste". Understandably, because it's in French, some of the snappy dialogue doesn't really translate. Oddly enough, there's no Treespeak in French, who knew? However, Lewa still says "Héros Toa" without the hyphen, so I guess it was just a lack of understanding on the part of the translator, Jocelyne Vrzovski.
So maybe I'll ask for an English version of the magazine if I have time, but clearly someone over in Enfield needs to brush up on their Canadian geography.

I never get tired of that line...

Anyway, the more observant of you may have noticed that something is ary with my blog today. That's right, I had a bit of free time on my hands and shifted all the content blocks "two inches to the left" . I am well aware that the space between the two sides may or may not be two inches long (not sure, being Canadian and whatnot), but I just couldn't resist throwing that line in one last time.

    Why the shift?

Well I finally got fed up with people's comments crashing into my content blocks and becoming unreadable. Hopefully this solves the problem and I also hope that you don't mind scrolling a bit if you have an 800 x 600 resolution like me (if you do, well then you probably need the exercise anyway).

And this concludes one of my most pointless entries.

So we've all heard of people running across North America several times. It's been done -- old news.

What I'd like to see is someone run from Alert, Nunavut to Cape Horn, Chile. Now THAT would be an impressive feat.

After finally applying for the job mentioned in the previous entry (yay), I went with my family to go see Superman Returns. All in all, it was a very exciting movie- it's really impressive how far movie making has come since the days of the previous Superman ones. Some parts, though, didn't seem to make a lot of sense, especially concerning how strong Superman actually was since he seemed to treat everything, whether it was a plane or car, as being more or less the same weight. Maybe that's just how it works or something, I wouldn't know, but I still found it a bit weird. The end didn't really appeal to me because it didn't end on an exciting note or even on much of a cliffhanger. I don't want to give away too much else, but I will tell you that if you like explosions you should definitely watch this movie.

The rest of my week has been pretty mediocre. I was almost in the BS01 chat with Greg, but I bailed when I wasn't going to be able to actually talk to him (little did I know that I only needed to wait another half hour ). Other than that, it's been a a nice and relaxing summer.

Finally, after nearly six months, BionicleSector01 is back. I really missed all the reference materials there and found it really hard to have to research things elsewhere (like on the real Wikipedia ). Anyway, this time around, I'm an Adviser. Not quite sure what that means, but from what I understand, it was pretty much what I was doing before the site when down anyway. Aside from the fact that I'm now BS01 staff, I have now apparently added another forum to my growing empire (I feel like a Barraki at times ). Yup, the BionicleSector01 forum is now mine to control. Not that I can really do much, being only a Forum Assistant, but it's still a nice feeling. So at last count, I'm at 5 forums, tied with bonesiii and Kex for world domination.

Well, I think it's time to lay my good friend The Funny Messages Content Block to rest. He had a good run. He served as a repository for old messages I put in the Flash banner I used to use before I got lazy. Now, though, I think it's time to remove him for good. The messages he once held will now be displayed in this blog entry, allowed to sink into the obscurity of my blog. They might not have always been funny... or made sense... but they... well, here they are.

If insects have 6 legs and arachnids have 8, then what the heck are Visorak?? If life is like a box of chocolates, then death must be a peanut allergy. Coconuts kill 150 people a year by falling on their heads. Just be glad they don't migrate! When life gives you lemons, it's important to hold out until it gives you sugar and water too or else you'll have really gross tasting lemonade. In Soviet Russia, you do not Free the Band, the band frees you. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When life gives Chuck Norris pears, he makes lemonade out of them too. Join the Dark Side. You'll save millions on electricity with Force Lightning! I wonder who brushes their teeth more: Vezon or Fenrakk? *Jedi mind trick* This is not the witty quote you are looking for. Is it really necessary for me to see Stormtrooper wearing blue Speedos in LEGO Star Wars II? I defeated Emperor Palpatine with the skeleton character in LSWII; so much for Anakin being the Chosen One. My computer is virus-free again! Those Inika Zamor really do the trick! Comida is the Spanish word for food. Does that explain why there are so many food obsessions in BZP comedies? Pridak just flosses with barbed wire, that's all. Hahli may be able to walk on water, but Chuck Norris can swim through land. Am I the only person who notices the similarities between Mantax and Chuck Norris? If the server's name is Linus, I wonder if he knows Charlie Brown... When it comes to eggnog, the glass is neither half full nor half empty, it's mine! Tonight you will be visited by three SPIRITs... Make sure to stock up on eggnog. I got two DS games for Christmas and I lost two of the ones I already had. Can somebody say irony? According to cheerleaders, you can never get enough SPIRIT. Where does the Recycle Bin go when you delete it? Aw man, Greg said that Bionicle probably won't last until 3007. That's it, I've abandoned my plans to live forever! If Pridak likes the Pillars of Salt, I wonder how Mantax feels about Pillars of Pepper... I think Ehlek might be Canadian, eh? If Mata Nui has been asleep for a thousand years, I really hope he isn't a bed wetter... Seems to me like the only way to be a success in BIONICLE is to include rap in what you're saying... fo' shizzle. "Creeps from the deep's gonna be feeding off the spine" I wonder what that tastes like. "You know what I hate? People who quote themselves." -Me Well, if Mata Nui's going to die, I hope that he at least put me in his will. Hydraxon: I'm not dead. I'm getting better. Nocturn: No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment. "Forums are so outdated. I know you wanted to see this." Now he's taunting me. If most of the members here are male, then how come the cutesie BBC contest had the most entries? I won't make any excuses for why it's been so long since I've updated this; I'm just lazy, plain and simple. Anyone who thinks that BIONICLE makes people violent should be stabbed with Tahu's firesword! In a few years, when the world's plastic supply is exhausted, LEGO fans are going to look pretty smart. Why is it that anyone who spends time with Lhikan turns evil? I sense a conspiracy here. If we all did situps every time got a board message, we'd have six packs by the end of the week. Never fails. I'm gone for a week and they overhaul BIONICLE.com on me. It was worth becoming staff just to see the board when it's offline for everyone else. I'd like to put a quote from Deathly Hallows here, but I'd also like not to be mobbed by fans who haven't finished the book yet. Do you suppose any of the Makuta wear eye-shadow? There's nothing I like more than coming home to 60 reports and to find that I only need to close one topic. If I had a nickel for every time we ignored physics in the staff RPG... Apparently it's illegal to wear a mask in Denmark. This might explain a few things... Did you know that an axon is a microscopic section of a nerve fibre? That's kinda lame. Matoro: Oh, false alarm, guys. I just forgot to change the batteries in the Mask of Life. Mata Nui's just fine. "Who ate all the pies?!" -Po-Matoran in MNOLG1. We may never know. You can't compare apples and Pohatu. Turaga Onewa: Stop! Hammer time! I wonder if Apple will be teaming up with LEGO to make the Toa iRon? Pohatu: Heart of the Visorak? Oh, I thought we were looking for some kind of gas cloud... May the bottom of your tree be filled with many colourfully wrapped LEGO sets this holiday season. Do you suppose for the next single-element environment that the storyline will take place on an island made entirely out of plasma? Takanuva: *waves hand* You don't need to see my identity tablet. If Mutran's "blog" is hidden away in his hive, how is he going to get any comments? Gali Nuva Mistika: Does this piece of Onua's armour on my back make my butt look big? Believe it or not, there is someone out in the world whose name is Terry Dacks. Dark Mirror becomes 100 times funnier if you picture Takanuva saying "D'oh!" at the end of every chapter. Strange, but true: Greg Farshtey was born just seventeen days before author J.K. Rowling. Those boulders in FoF 7 died to... Ah, forget it. The real reason Matoran don't love: So they don't get cooties. When the Mask of Life goes black, nobody goes back! My guidance counsellor doesn't seem to think that hunting for Horcruxes is a viable post-secondary option... Join Toa Tuyet's miracle weight loss program! In just 9 short sessions, you can cut your body weight in half! "My, Takanuva, what big... everything you have." Someone please tell Takanuva what the difference is between a compass and a sundial. After the war, Helryx retired to become a Q-tip saleswoman. "Is that enough cotton to clean out your ears?" Mata Nui: Oi! One thousand years will give you such a crick in the neck! Possession by a Makuta making your eyes red? There's a VISINE for that. Mata Nui in the Ignika: Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain!!! The Ta-Matoran are so lucky... Theirs is the only Metru with chimneys for Santa to go down. Tuma: The next person who says to me, "it's not a Tuma!" is losing an arm! The first rule of Arena Magna is... you do not talk about Arena Magna. Matoro's not dead... he's just pining for the fjords! I wish Greg would bump off Norik so I could say, "Alas, poor Norik! I knew him well..." Tarduk: Vehicles? Where we're going, we don't need vehicles. Mantax makes the Pakari look like a Q-Ray Bracelet. "Hi, welcome to the BIONICLE News. I'm Onua, and this is Kopaka, my Ko-Anchor." So, if the Baterra only target "armed combatants", it's a good thing Nocturn isn't here... because he's got four arms... *awkward silence* "BOHROK!!!" That was my Bohrok call. Get it? "Bohrok-Kal!" How is the Sets Forum like a retirement home? Everyone complains about their joints. The ability to shatter a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force Blasters. Oh, I see what you did there: LEG-o. Denmark's making fun of me! Either Cryoshell's songs are very metaphorical or English isn't their songwriter's first language. Make your next explosion a Cordak Moment. So I'm thinking the next planet we visit will be called Carta Magna. Should've seen that coming... Mark Baldo is actually bald! TAHU is an anagram of UTAH. This explains so much... How silly of me. I thought Ba-Matoran were sheep! Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but Lupin was one of the best werewolves of all time!

A little something I thought of today with regards to being unique: there's a difference between standing out and sticking out. I have great respect for the former and great disdain for the latter.

A terrible thing has happened today. My sister was watching TV a few hours ago and then she went upstairs during a commercial (I can't quite remember why, but it's not important). Anyway, when she came back, she asked me if I had turned off the TV. Having been at the computer the whole time, I told her that I hadn't and that she must have done so and forgotten. Shrugging her shoulders, she reached for the remote and pressed the On button but nothing happened. I was called in to investigate and found that no matter what I did, I couldn't turn it on. So then I called down my dad; still no luck. He and I then hoisted the TV onto its face, opened its back panel, and then looked around, but we found nothing and still couldn't get it to work. So in the end, my dad decided that it was toast and now plans to throw it out.

It was a good TV. It played VHS, DVD, PS2, antennae, and satellite faithfully, but now it's time has come. Farewell old friend, I shall never forget you...

BTW, did I mention I'm getting a new LCD television in the near future?
  21. SPIRIT
Well, I'm finally settling down from Lego Star Wars II. I'm ever so slightly over 80% done and I've found just about all the easy stuff which means I can start to get serious about BZP again. I've already gotten in a new Bionicle Captions Contest round as well as a new chapter in Wildfire. All that remains now is TotA and I'll be officially caught up. For Episode 12, you should expect quality similar to that of Episode 11 (Doc recorded this one too), but I've gotten a few more tricks up my sleeve since 11 that will hopefully make it better. After that, I've got to record Episode 16 and then work on a special surprise for the show with Doc. Either way, it's definitely worth keeping your eyes (or ears, in this case) pealed for updates.

    I've seen many theories
    Time after time
    I've some closed topics

I've had my share theories dis-proven
    But I've come through

I are the champions - my friends
And I'll keep on fighting - till the end
    I are the champions
    I are the champions
    No time for losers
'Cause I are the champions - of the world

Not sure if you've seen yet, but I just won a Gold Key to Nongu Award!!!!! :winner: :winner:

I'd like to thank the academy- *is cut off by music*

Anyway, in the realm of PSA production, I've been having troubles with the songs. Last time you might have noticed that sometimes my voice didn't sync perfectly with the music; this was a recording error that I have been trying to solve. I've also strained my voice quite a bit in the recording (when the PSA comes out, you'll see why) so now I actually keep a bottle of honey beside the computer when I record to soothe my throat. Plus, if it's good enough for Winnie the Pooh, it's good enough for me.
  23. SPIRIT
So I'm doing a random online survey, and I get this question:

    A Hectic Morning:

Your dog wakes you up at 8:00am because your alarm clock has failed to wake you up. Taking a look at your dog, you realize he desperately needs to be groomed, and let outside to do his business. You have a 2-hour exam at 8:30am and the last bus that will get you there on time leaves at 8:15am.You realize you should probably shower, and you feel a little sick and hungry due to lack of sleep from cramming for your exam.

The phone begins to ring, and it's your landlord probably calling about the broken air conditioner. You receive a text from your best friend, and you catch another glimpse of the time: it is 8:03am. As you realize your limited amount of time, you think about the breakfast foods you have: cereal, chocolate bar, banana, and a frozen pizza pocket, because you can't write an exam on an empty stomach. Your mind races to the unpaid phone and Internet bills due by tomorrow and you can't risk anymore bad credit with all those student loans needing to be paid off. It's also your turn to clean the kitchen this week or your roommates will be very upset. You still need a pencil, eraser, and student ID for the exam, but that will take 2 minutes of searching though your very messy room. You scan your room and your eyes briefly rest on the job ads taped to your mirror, you need to find a job soon. It would probably be advisable to change out of those food-stained and very dirty clothes before being seen in public.

It is 8:05am now, what do you do during this day? Make sure to get everything done, and be realistic about timing. It takes exactly one minute to get to the bus stop.

So I thought for a bit, and came up with this response:

Get on your skateboard and hang the frozen pizza pocket in front of the dog so that it will chase after it and pull you along. As you get the pizza pocket, snag a few ice cubes from the freezer and toss them around the kitchen -- by the time they melt and evaporate, everything will be washed away. As you shove the banana into your mouth, pick up the phone and answer the landlord with "mhmm" until he hangs up. Have your dog sniff out your school supplies and then set him lose into the street. As he pulls you along on your skateboard, lead him towards a puddle, whose splash will wash both you and your clothes. As you get on the bus, sell your dog to one of the passengers to pay for the bills and get your salesmen skills noticed by a pet store owner who's also on the bus. Keeping your banana peel with you, get to the exam hall a few minutes ahead of schedule. Slyly drop the banana peel so that your professor slips on it and drops a copy of the exam. Snap some pics with your camera phone and send them to your friend who's already taken the course. Use the stolen answers to ace the exam and you're done by 9:00. Enjoy the rest of your day.
