Not only is it a Christmas Classic, but it is a Christmas Crossover story as well, with both Christmas and Fantasy (ghosts) as its focus. Prizes are not unlikely to surface for other placers, but unresolved as of yet. Will be finalized within a few days. Again I'd like to give a huge thank you to our contest judges and their speedy...well, judging:-Tolkien-Eeko-55555-VeloxI know it was hard for them (including myself) to rank the entries, as while we only had a few entries, all were fabulously written, and they were all a joy to read. RPG Forum Text-Based RPG Contest 23No themes this time, just make a super-fun RPG!Here's how these contests work: [*]The contest will be run every three (3) months, or four (4) times a year.[*]All members are welcome to enter the contest......-Each member can only enter one (1) Text-based RPG entry......-The only exception to this is that BZPRPG and RPG Contest staff will not be permitted to make entries.[*]There will be three winners selected in every contest......-The winners will be the three RPGs with the most votes after one or more rounds of voting (depending on the number of entries).[*]Whether or not a given RPG wins or not, it will be allowed to run in future contests, with the below conditions and restrictions......-For and RPG that lost a contest, the creator must make an attempt to alter and improve their entry before entering it in the next contest......-If an RPG has won four (4) consecutive contests that it has entered, it can not enter the next four contests. It does not, however, have to be altered before being entered again after its break, although the creator can do so if they desire to........Example: A RPG wins two contests in a row. It is not entered in the next contest. It is entered and wins the fourth and fifth contests. How many mystery comics does it take to screw in a lightbulb?Well, only one; all it needs is a good twist.Unfortunately, this contest does not involve a feat of strength measured by overcoming a pesky lightbulb; it is a traditional affair where you will have to submit your comic entries and have them voted on in a series of polls. A bummer, I know.But, in hopes of making things exciting, Ziko and I have decided that the theme is a mystery. No, you don't have to guess what the theme is - you will be the one creating a mystery in your comics. This contest requires you to submit a comic whose focus is on a plot of intrigue, a mystery that will leave your readers guessing until you finally put all the clues together for them. If you decide to do that at all, that is.As such, the comics should be story-driven, and you should focus on the intricacies of plot and character development instead of the traditional humor that has a home here in the Comics forum. That is not to say that no humor is allowed; no, on the contrary, an effective and perhaps sparing use of humor will serve to heighten the tension in your mystery through contrast. I would, however, like to avoid "Scooby-Doo"-type submissions where everything is zany. This is to answer the several calls we had in the Suggestions topic for a more "serious" theme, one in which the entries will exhibit dramatic tension.In addition, we hope that this theme will encompass several other suggestions by allowing entries of their type, such as murder mysteries for the "death twist" theme, mysterious catastrophes (hey, it's possible!), and mysteries based on betrayal to cover a more recent suggestion.Entry period:Entries will be accepted from February 1st, 12:00 AM Eastern until March 4th, 11:59 PM Eastern. This is my entry for Sumiki's Blogarithm Contest #4: Fresh Salad! The goal was to make a MOC with a fruit or veggie in it. I originally tried to make an orange-powered Biolizard, but that ended poorly, so I came up with this! It's a ray gun that turns clementine juice into pure laser energy. I really haven't been on here for a long, long, looooong time, so I'm hoping to become active here again. Anyways, on to the MOC! I just had one of my best story ideas ever, and it's for SSC9 (Short Stories Contest #9 for those who don't know). I mean, I've written some pretty good stories (if I do say so myself), but this one is going to trump them all. Needless to say, I'm extremely excited. Want an excerpt? Too bad! Nobody is gonna be stealin' my ideas! (I love you guys but no sharing till contest day) In BZPRPG news: not much is happening. EW destroyed the island's major hospital and now everything seems to have slowed down. However, I am hard at work on the faction I described two entries back, so you can expect that to be unveiled soon! Anyone interested in being a part of it can PM me for some details. Don't mind me, just posting a topic for my entry. Click thumb for full entry. This was a lot easier to make than any given page in my regular series because I didn't have to focus as much on shading or retracing figures. This gave it a bit messier look, which is how I envisioned it, so it's all good. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.Thanks for reading, and be sure to enter!

There's a HF video contest with some very impressive prizes (and very little publicity) going on right now. I personally don't intend to enter, but it's such a great opportunity for HF fans that I'd hate to see people miss out just because they didn't know about it. After the amazing response 55555 and I received from Short Stories Contest #8, we decided that we wanted to start another contest -- why not COT, and since it's around the Christmas season, why not Christmas-themed? After all, there's been a Valentine's Day short story contest, and a Halloween-themed story contest, it's about time for a Christmas one. Not just any Christmas-themed story, though -- a Sci-Fi yuletide adventure, a snowy steampunk tale, or an eerie Christmas mystery, along with a plethora of other possibilities. Theme: Write a Christmas story while keeping it in one of the following genres: ApocalypseSteampunkSci FiMysteryFantasy CLARIFICATION:Your story may be religious or non-religious (still following BZP's rules, of course -- read the FAQ for more). However, the main theme of this contest is to write a story about the “Christmas spirit,” if you will – if it’s not religious, it should focus on the elements of the secular holiday (i.e., “holiday cheer,” presents, etc.). If religious themed, you may use Christmas or another religion’s equivalent (i.e., Hanukkah [Jewish], Saturnalia [ancient Rome], etc.). In other words, it's not so much "write a story about Christmas Day" as it is "write a story about the Christmas season" (though it can be about Christmas Day if you so desire).
