So I attended my second WAMALUG meeting yesterday, and it went pretty well several people (including BZP member ChocolateFrogs) liked the hands my Bionicle MoC's had (detailed pic's will be up in a day or two) I also completed a castle scene, which someone described as "one wicked game of chess" I also played with my new Manas, explained how I got a MacTron Takua There should be pictures up in a day or two, so I'll link to the brickshelf folder If any other Bzper lives in the DC area, they should check out WAMALUG (Google it to find the website, I don't know it off the top of my head) also I was inspired to create another castle scene, which (if I can make it work) will be one of my most epic creations yet this update's quote: You tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is 'never try'. ~Homer Simpson

For all those reading this tiny two post blog, I'm sure none of you are thinking "gee ouch, I wish I could decide what new Lego sets to buy!" well I can (kinda) help. Here are my recommendations on some of my more recent sets: Tie Crawler: Pros: Rare tread pieces New minifigs Cons: $50.00 USD Few new pieces It's mostly blue, when really Tie crawlers are light gray I recommend it if you really want the treads or can't live without shadow stormtroopers Dwarven mine: Pros: All new minifigs lots of useful parts for mini Mocing (read: tons of cheese slopes) New troll Orcs!(or "small trolls" if you prefer) winged helms (my Gondor tower guard is almost complete!) plenty of weapons and other useful accessories Cons: I can't really understand how some of the mining functions work $50.00 USD may set some people off I highly recommend this set, it's got cool play features for the young 'uns, and unique minifigs and useful parts for us older folk (if the "08 sets are like this it will be a great year for castle) Jaller Marhi Pros: Sweet looking mask Nice sword "Pet" that children (and others *cough cough me cough*) will like Cordak are fun to shoot (don't loose them) Great parts if you missed the Inika (like me ) Cons: $10.00USD is a bit steep for a "canister" set no canister If you think you want it, or are looking for something for a younger family member, pick it up If you're not liking the toa Marhi, this set won't change your mind and finally Matoro Marhi Pros: well... umm... he's white He's got a unique look (however hunchback dosn't seem very "Ice" to me) He's important to the story he's got a cool semi-transparent mask that looks very "underwater" Cons: Awkward weapon placement Cordak connected tubes hinder posability has some color issues $10.00 price tag is too much Overall, don't bother unless you are determined to collect all of '07 or really like the white toa (like me) seeing as this wasn't very funny, I can add a humorous quote "Humans are not proud of their ancestors, and rarely invite them round to dinner."~Douglas Adams

Ugh... this Tippi moc is harder than I thought it would be. But I will keep on going. Perhaps I should make some of the other Pixls... Now to Brickworld... Kohaku is disappointed to announce that he will be unable to attend. Why? I have my Graduation Party on that Saturday and a Brewer game on Sunday. I'd go on Sunday if it weren't for the fact that it is an afternoon game. Oh well, perhaps next year. Kohaku

Rummage Sales! Not the first place you'd want to look for Lego Bricks but they work well. It is totally possible to get a great deal on sets even if they don't have all of the pieces. I've have plenty of sets for really cheap prices, some Toa, a Roborider, and one very special set. First Entry Describing the set from 1978 - Pictures of the set are here That's why you will never know what gems you'll find at sales. Always look. In other news, I won't be able to enter the BBC due to some family issues. Kohaku

Yep, BrickWorld. While it may not be as awesome as Brickfest at least it is near me. And by that I mean a few hours away in Chicago. Unlike Brickfest which is like never near me. (I still plan to go to one someday.) The great thing is this: Not one, not two, but three Lego Stores! I hope I can go! So far things look good. Although, I'll only be able to attend the public Expo, if/when I go. Thanks for convincing me Roa McToa. Kohaku

A few of you know that I am going to enter LGD Contest #5. And I'm entering on the side of Mordren, because evil is awesome. I'm not going to say that much about it just yet. You'll have to wait until I enter. There is one thing though... I have a minifigure that could take down any fortress... even mine. This minifigure is... You'll have to wait until tomorrow. (If you know don't tell, of you'll have to face my wrath and all that jazz.) Also, I haven't worked on my Darknut MOC since I started working on the contest... and if all goes well and I finish the Darknut in time it might go on a trip to Brickfest. Kohaku

Tomorrow I will post pictures of a very old lego set, the set was released in 1978. It is a 28 year old lego set, it is older than most of BZP even me. Late last year I aquired the set at an estate sale. The pieces were were not in any bag just an old Box for the set. The sets name is Space Command Center. Now here is the amazing thing, in the 28 years they have had it only 2 pieces were missing. Remember the pieces haven't been in a bag. You'll see how old some of the pieces are when I compare them tomorrow. When I first got it I was in awe of how amazing it was to touch a Lego set that came out before I was born. Kohaku
