MNOG: The Mines of Onu-Koro 8 Bit Remix
Vahkiti Master of Time posted a topic in Fan Created MediaSo after years and years of making 8 bit remixes with premade midis, I finally took the plunge and transcribed something myself, by ear. I never really thought I was very good at this, so I'm actually kinda proud of the fact that it only took me a few hours from start to finish, even if it is relatively simplistic as my remixes go. (I did Through The Fire and Flames once. xD) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3wtcDU3A1M Hope you guys like it. Given how surprisingly easy it was, I may just end up doing more. If a few go well, I'll make another album for my Bandcamp! ^-^
6² - An Electronic Project
Palm posted a topic in Completely Off Topic"All good music resembles something. Good music stirs by its mysterious resemblance to the objects and feelings which motivated it."-Jean Cocteau"If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music."-Gustav Mahler _________________________________________ Last year I started a solo electronic project just for kicks; make some cool music, learn and grow more musically, and just really have some fun with it.The premise behind it was that music was always better if it represents something, especially if what it represents is personally important to me. Also, I wanted to say things in it I couldn't say with my words. I've never been very good with words, and music seemed to do a good job of expressing what I was feeling or trying to say. In addition to these ideas, I realized most all electronic artists treated their music as recycled ideas and repeating motifs. Although the motifs or, ostinatos are interesting, they can get repetitive sometimes leaving the listener growing bored of the music quickly.I wanted to write electronic music I would an orchestral piece.Of course, it is far from perfect, after releasing my first album, I already had a slew of things I would've done differently, and still find myself obsessing over some of them. Despite this, I have only gotten positive feedback, and yet to have somebody really dig into it and tell me what I could've done better. That's where you guys come in.Anyways, enough chit-chat. _________________________________________ Debut album- Milk and Cooki³sA preview for the next album- 6² Preview - Hackers I am using Bandcamp but I've set it so each track and album is available free to download! Please let me know what you think, any and all feedback is appreciated.
