  1. I'm gonna just repost something I've done on another blog o' mine. It involves 100 things that are about me. More than you needed to know. Why? Because. I can. 1. I am a JEDI DANGIT. 2. I hate talking on the phone. A lot. Phones are the pawns of Satan. 3. I'm fond of slightly out of date philosophies that went "out of date" without ever having their time. Seeing as I'm a deist and an anarchist in the not-at-all punk rawk way, but in the more Industrial Revolution way. 4. I tend to get on well with anyone of any political persuasion, since people tend to find my political views more "interesting" than offensive, and I dislike getting into pointless fights. 5. "Some of my best friends are gay" applies to me so much that it limits my dating options. 6. I enjoy my daily servings of ROFLs. I get them every day. I search for them voraciously. 7. I love having red hair. Dying my hair red was an awesomely great move. 8. I like men's clothing way more than I like women's. I don't dislike dresses because they're fancy, I dislike them because I consider suits to be a far better formal option than any dress ever could be. 9. My tie collection, my fedora collection and my jacket collection are the cornerstones of every single bit of my style ever. 10. Favorite author? Ursula K. LeGuin. Everything she writes turns to gold. 11. I'm a fashion nerd. No idea what Seventeen is telling us to wear these days but I'm GLUED to Fashion Week in London and Tokyo. Milan's occasionally fun, everything done in New York is done better in London, Paris is a little too pretentious for my tastes and no one cares about fashion in L.A, just the celebrities. 12. I'm half Polish, quarter German and quarter gosh-knows-what. Irish. Native American. Southern. I think. 13. However, my surname leads people to think that I'm Italian. 14. My favorite actor? Charlie Chaplin. No contest. None could ever hope to top him. 15. Favorite voice of all time? Al Jolson. 16. Favorite songwriter? Daniel Johnston. 17. Favorite place? Meiji Temple in Harajuku in Tokyo. Man, I miss Tokyo. . . 18. My grandpa can usually bring down any price whatsoever with his magical skills of badgering and looking like he knows what he's doing and being really really annoying. It's pretty cool to watch. I wish I could do that. 19. My DnD alignment is Chaotic Good. It's kinda creepy how Chaotic Good I am, though the emphasis is fairly strongly on Chaotic. If there's a choice between smashing Evil and smashing Law, I pick smashing Law. Law is what makes evil EXIST dangit! Lawful Evil, in case you haven't noticed, gets nothing but my utmost ire. 20. If I were a vampire in Vampire: the Masquerade, I'd either be a Brujah, a Malkavian or a Toredor, depending upon who got me first. The Brujah would take me in because I'm an anarchist that isn't a dork, the Malkavians would take me in for reasons that are well explained in this blog, and the Toredor would probably be going through a comic book phase. 21. Were I a character in the Elder Scrolls I'd be a Breton Battlemage, because Battlemages are AWESOME. Well, mostly just a mage that specialized in Destruction, Alteration and Mysticism. I'd likely be chronically unemployed due to the fact that I would never ever join the Legion ever, and the Mage's Guild isn't very high on my list of favorite folks either. I would be an adventurer, but I'd be more excited by a ruin that had a ton of pottery and cooking utensils than a ruin that had a ton of gold, and I'd be against indiscriminately taking everything in sight without studying it for significance. 22. I have a brother and a sister, twins. They are pretty much entirely awesome and will likely find this journal soon enough. 23. Job I'd adore having? Historian who writes comic books about everything and anything that interest and enlighten everyone who reads them and make the world a generally better place for it being there. Job I'll probably end up having? Some kinda teacher in a vaguely unconventional school, if I ever end up getting a steady job at all before dying an ignoble death at a young age. 24. I've got waaaaay too many characters, but I never manage to finish anything with them. Except for drawings, I guess. And dolls. 25. I actually do listen to country music. Lots of people guess that I wouldn't. What, is it the hipster in a blue state thing? Country ownedz man. 26. I consider my short years in public school to be undisputedly the worst years of my entire life. They gave me nothing but issues that took years to get over, and an incredibly bitter hatred for the government. Which I probably would've got anyway. 27. I used to be shy. Then I got over it. It wasn't that hard. That is why I have no sympathy for shy people. 28. I've played Morrowind since I was 12 years old, and here I am, four years later, still playing Morrowind. And it hasn't gotten old. Mods are a beautiful thing. 29. I love red lipstick so much. I wear it pretty much every single day. 30. The Dreamcast was my favorite console ever. 31. The Dreamcast is the only console I've ever liked. I'm normally an extremely hardcore PC gamer. I like being able to hack my games. A lot. Constantly. You brag about online access? BAH! We've had it FOR DECADES. 32. Okay, maybe I like some portable systems, since they fill a niche not already taken by the PC. The DS is actually pretty dang neat. WarioWare: Touched is freakin' addicting. Various old school Final Fantasys are fun too. 33. If I were a musician, I'd hope to be the orphan child of David Bowie and Billie Holiday, raised by Dan Bejar and Prince as a couple. The greatest one ever. 34. All of my favorite female singers are either black, Indian or redheads. Very few of my favorite male singers can actually sing, in the traditional sense. 35. I like to quote Destroyer lyrics in conversation. This leads to inevitable confusion. "So, I was talking with a friend of my friend the other day when . . ." "It's true. You're the one I waited for. Two people, they couldn't agree more!" "What?" "Just my luck. Who goes there? Friend of a friend again." And then depending on the person it's either "Why do I bother talking to you?" or "You're kinda awesome." 36. Whenever I get into a chat sort of setting I just start spewing the most random junk that comes to mind. I spew out random junk when I'm talking, but it's even worse in chat rooms, because I have absolutely no inhibitions whatsoever. 37. I just got AIM. ROFLCOPTER. 38. My MBTI type is ENTP. Extroverted Intuitive Thinking Perceptive. The description that's given for that type is pretty accurate to me, though much of the stuff for INTP and ESTP holds true. 39. I actually like kids. Surprising, but true. They're actually a lot of fun to be around, when you're able to distract them from being annoying. 40. I hate music with too many guitars. Hate them so much. God. There are other instruments out there fer cryin' out loud. And if you insist on playing the electric guitar (which I hate waaaay more than the acoustic guitar, which has a kinda cool textural sound some of the time) then please try something new with it. Or skip it all together and go for the synths. 41. Drum machines are God's gift to awesomely bad music. Or awesomely good music. 42. I took this test about "What character would you be in a romance novel?". My result? "Where ever there is gayness, you'll be there!" With a picture of two guys in Wolverine costumes. It was basically the best thing in the entire universe. 43. My brother's girlfriend (who's a pretty cool gal, too good for him sometimes) had a dream that I was the Wizard of Oz. Fun. 44. The worst years of my life were between the ages of 8 and 9. Last year of Government Controlled Brainwashing Prison. So glad to be out of the joint. 45. I think that prisons are a monumentally stupid idea. "Hey everybody! Let's take criminals and then STICK THEM WITH WORSE CRIMINALS! That ought to make them shape up! Yessirrie!" And people are surprised that people who end up in jail end up there again pretty much every time? 46. I'm horribly afraid of heights. I hate them so much. I hate heights. Heights should die a slow and painful death. It's an all-encompasing AURA OF HATE!!! 47. I've got Hate Tapes inside me. They say "HATE SUPERMAN" "HATE JUSTICE LEAGUE" and "HATE HATE HATE". The last one's always my favorite. 48. I'm a Jedi every so often. 49. I really really need to see Rocky Horror Picture Show in theater. I've seen it about a billion times on video. Seriously. I'll dress up an' all that. 50. I'm neither a night person nor a morning person. I AM REMOVED FROM TIME!!! 51. Whenever you use multiple exclamation points, you should only use three. Whenever you use an ellipse, you must use three periods, with spaces in between. 52. I'm a compulsive doodler. It's a form of meditation dangit! 53. I'm a very casual swearer. I won't use it in "polite" company, but if I'm with people who don't care, I swear basically without thinking about it. Not extremely often, just casually. 54. I know all of the lyrics to Only Skin by Joanna Newsom, and every single song on Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel. 55. Birdwatching is fun. I need to get back into it. Birds are cool. 56. Insects are also cool. Seriously, why do people like mammals? They're so boooooring. They also taste gross. 57. I don't like beef. Beef is vile stuff, except in beef jerky, and even then, sometimes. Turkey and chicken are where it's at. 58. I'm probably going to become a vegetarian when I get out of the house, or at least try to become a vegetarian. It seems like a good enough idea. I'm all for using resources efficiently. 59. More than half of my friends on Removed - Nukora are fictional, and I interact with them in character. 60. I'm ridiculously androphilic, in the way that I'd love men even if I were one. However, there are seven girls I would go gay for. Bastila Shan from Knights of the Old Republic, and the Spice Girls. 61. Anyone who understands Spice World and Troll 2 understands me. 62. THINK ABOUT . . . THE TOXINS! THINK ABOUT . . . THE CHOLESTEROL! 63. I use Mozilla, because it has an HTML editor and because of my slightly undying hatred of Microsoft. However, Microsoft isn't exactly as evil as Sony. But that's like saying that it isn't exactly as evil as a slight step below Satan. 64. I have never found a decent reason for me to care about the PS3. I haven't found a decent reason to care about any Next-Gen console. Or any console after the Dreamcast. Maybe I care about the NES. And the Saturn. 65. SEGA WILL RISE AGAIN! JUST YOU WAIT! THEY WILL THROW OFF THE CHAINS OF SONIC OPPRESSION AND BRING US NON-MMO PHANTASY STAR GOODNESS! JUST YOU WAIT! 66. I like typing in all caps, but I never use the Caps Lock key. I always use the shift key. 67. Whenever I see one of those CAPTCHAs, I have to type it exactly as shown. Capitalization and all. I don't find this odd, but some people get a bit creeped out when they see me typing them out, because they're always too lazy to capitalize, and it makes absolutely no difference. Well, it makes a difference to me. 68. I am incredibly self-indulgent. As seen by this entry. 69. u r the suxxxxx lololololol 70. I say "rofl" out loud in real life far more than I ever say rofl online. I enjoy the irony of using an internet acronym that means rolling on the floor laughing when I am obviously neither laughing, nor rolling on the floor. 71. I hate the Oscars. The only thing good to ever come out of them is the Dismemberment Plan song "Academy Award". Any movie award that ignores India as much as they do IS MADE OF FAIL. 72. Bollywood movies are my favorite. SRK is the SECKS, even though I can't remember how to spell his name. Which makes me saaaaad. 73. Ever since the end of I Love New York, I have had absolutely no reason to watch television. Ever since Mr. Boston was kicked off of I Love New York I've had very little reason to watch television. However, now that television is lacking in Mr. Boston and New York, I can now rest easy knowing that there is nothing good on. However, there is the prospect of I Love New York 2. I do not know whether or not this means that I can watch television again. 74. I've got an insect collection that mostly consists of huge grasshoppers. 75. I'm horrible at math. I have no reason to be as horrible at math as I am, but I'm afraid that I am. It makes me cry every single day of my life. 76. YOU SEE THE TEARS FROM MY EYES!!! 77. I've a shocking furry streak that is unbecoming to one such as I. It comes from playing Morrowind. I know it. I know it true. I also play Werewolf. DANGIT! 78. But it's Theresa that I love the best. 79. I'm still vaguely active at the first forum that I officially joined. It wasn't this one. 80. I was also a moderator there. I don't exactly know what sort of insanity went through their mind when they decided to make me a moderator, but they made me a moderator nonetheless. I am no longer a moderator there due to the fact that I quit. Which I'm fine with. People do a better job than I. 81. I always carry around this huge and massive bag fulla books absolutely everywhere I go. People worry about it sometimes, but if I've a choice between REPLACING MY BACK WITH A ROBOT and not having a book when I need it, I'll take the robots! 82. What's in that bag? That's an entry for another day! Haha! Yeah, it's all very long and rather personal and deserving of its own entry. 83. I used to be a Sith Groupie. However, these days I'm just really really bad at being a Jedi. But the Sith still have some measure of hawtness. 84. I've a tendency to fall in love with male musicians before I even know what they look like. They could look like anything and they'd be total hotness. I guess this gets me free to honestly like a band in a non-My Chemical Romance-emo-kid sort of way, but also to obsess over band members. Gary Numan? Dan Bejar? David Bowie? HOTTT! 85. I hate domesticated animals. All of them. I've only met one dog I ever liked, and that was because that dog was absolutely brilliant. Smarter than most six year olds. Could understand complete sentences, unwrap and rewrap cheeseburgers without tearing the paper, look at you like you're a complete moron when you pull the throwing-nothing trick, tell when his owner was going to have a seizure, sniff out tons of different types of cancer, he was great. 86. However, whenever there is a dog or cat or whatever that'll sit still, I immediately start petting it, which it perceives as attention, even though I don't even notice that the animal is there. This means that at the end of the day, I will be surrounded by dogs on their bellies and I won't stop petting them because I don't know that I'm actually petting them. 87. I would write more fanfiction about Krahka in Bionicle and such, but I fear that any Krahka character I have would become an instant Mary Sue, which I dislike writing. 88. As soon as I can, I'm going to get a tattoo all over my arm. People, particularly girls, don't get arm tattoos as often as they should. Tattoos that cover your arms are really cool. Don't let beefy biker bears monopolize it! 89. I never wear pajamas. It's a waste of clothes. Why do you need two pairs of clothes through a day? I go to sleep in what I wear during the day, 90. I usually forget to take off my shoes when I'm in bed, but I usually remember to take them off before I go to sleep. Usually. 91. There are few things more for the win than horse riding nomads. 92. I am not a fan of the boyfriend-girfriend thing. At all. Society's standards of love are the most stupid things I have ever heard of in my entire life. 93. John Hodgman is my favorite man in the universe. He has COMPLETE WORLD KNOWLEDGE. And the exact sort of sense of humor I desire. Absurd, dry and educated in a completely delusional way. 94. I was a time traveler in a past life. As well as Alexander Berkman and a Tarantula Hawk wasp. You know, the ones that lay their eggs in Tarantulas and then their larva eat them from the inside, paralyzing and eating them ALIVE before they burst out through their heads, killing their host. That's why I have none of the assassinating or physics abilities of my previous lives. And I don't believe in reincarnation. YAY! 95. I read a lot of comics of all kinds ever. I've been getting into French underground comics recently, though I'll always love American indie stuff the best. Manga's fine too, since Osamu Tezuka is the best human being to ever exist. Everything that is good about manga is a direct result of Osamu Tezuka-sama. 96. My favorite phrase is "What the devil?" It's great to say whenever. Just say it. "What the devil?" It's got a great Captain Picard vibe to it. 97. Emma Goldman is my idol, along with anyone who claims to be a timetraveler. 98. I JUST LOST THE GAME. 99. I know waaaaay too much about the New Pornographers, and everyone in the band, and all of their bands, and everything about them ever. It's almost depressing. 100. My life's credo? "SHOW THEM ALL!"
  2. STATEMENT: JONATHAN COULTON IS THE GREATEST BEING IN THE UNIVERSE PROOF:
  3. There is simply NOT enough shipping out there. And more like it, there is simply NOT enough crack-shipping. Shipping, for those unfamilier with the term, means the supporting of a relationship between fictional characters, whether canon or not. For instance, you may appriciate the relationship between Nokama and Matau. You think that they ought to get together in a romantic way, and that they are, more or less, perfect for each other. And if not perfect, then completely awesome together. You ship Matau/Nokama. Congradulations. It does not necessarily mean that the pairing was ever canon, or ever will be canon. For instance, I ship Nuju/Nokama. They would get together AWESOME. However, within none of the books did they ever overtly flirt or display That's where subtext and inference comes in. Which is where all the fun starts. This is also why I infamously never support a single pairing that ever actually HAPPENS in any of my fandoms, with the vague exceptions of Bill Weasley/Fleur Delacour, which I thought was too awesome for me to not have thought of first, and Bastila/Revan, which is actually kinda cool. Then there's crackpairings. Crackpairings are ships that don't make any sense whatsoever, usually with the intention of not making any sense whatsoever. They usually don't bother with explinations, but I greatly enjoy creating elaborate and melodramatic reasons for these affairs. I'll keep the slash out, though if I ever get permission or something (which I'm way too lazy to ask for), then I may or may not make a second edition. Though if I find that I can start spewing about slash I'll be going for more important things. Like how freakin' obvious it is in Bionicle. ANYWAY! Axxon/Roodaka Zaktan/Krahka Pirak/Hahli
  4. So yeah, I just finished the main quest of the Shivering Isles expansion pack for Oblivion. It was actually pretty dang fun. The enviroments ruled so much, though they did give me MAD Morrowind flashbacks. Mushroom trees. So many mushroom trees it was hilarious. And then there's a certain part where things start looking exactly like the Ashlands. EXACTLY like the Ashlands. Only with more explosions.
  5. My brother and I are both huge music geeks. My major areas of interest are modern Canadian indie pop, New Weird America and outsider music. His are mostly British hip hop-ish stuff, strange electronic soundscapes, and We both love jazz. However, he's more Miles Davis and Charlie Parker, I'm more Billie Holiday and Scott Joplin. And we both love Sun Ra, but c'mon, who don't love the Sun Ra? And I needa get him my Moondog . . . He listens to music that gets 10s, 6s and nothing at all on Pitchfork, and I listen to music that gets 4s, 7s, 8s and sometimes 9s on Pitchfork, however, they'll constantly namedrop the bands I listen to in their reviews, occasionally hating them so much for no good reason. But they'll never hate on them in the actual reviews that have anything to do with the actual band. No, they'll start ranting and raving about how much they hate Destroyer in a review about some Scottish guy that has absolutely nothing to do with Destroyer, other than a general whimsy. However, I think the most telling moment? We were in the car, listening to Massive Attack. The song Teardrop comes up, and he mentions that he doesn't know what instrument is (Note: If you watch House, you've heard the song I speak of, at least, the part after the only-bass intro and before the chick starts singing. I don't watch House, in case you're wondering, even though, for some reason, I know all about the shipping wars. I know way too much about the shipping wars of a lot of things that I am not involved in. And the fandoms I'm into are lacking in shipping wars.) (Note: Bionicle needs a good shipping war that doesn't consists of People Who Actually Ship vs. OMG EEWWWW KISSING! That one is getting old. I'm thinking Tahu/Gali versus Kopaka/Gali with a side of Takanuva/Gali and Onua/Gali and Pohatu/Gali shippers who are too dang nice to get involved, since that's setting up for some nice venom, or maybe Vakama/Nokama vs. Matau/Nokama, whilst we Nuju/Nokama shippers sit back and mock them with our awesome.)
  6. So yeah. Hello. I still live. I'm just in places. From beyond THE GRAVE. Yeah, um, yeah. I've no idea when my PMship runs out, since I do not for the life of me recall how much I sent in for. I think it was a year. That'd make sense. Maybe lifetime, since that'd also make sense. Can't be six months, since six months have already passed, at least, I think they have. Here are the things I've been up to since I last posted. On BZP. At all. 1. I've been playing WAY TOO MUCH Phoenix Wright. Since it's basically one of the most amazing games that have ever existed. 2. I've been engaging in New Forms Of Roleplaying. Namely, I got into LARPing pretty bad, and I've been pretending to be Star Wars characters on social networking sites.
  7. LISTEN TO MORE JOANNA NEWSOM LISTEN TO MORE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS LISTEN TO MORE JAZZ LISTEN TO MORE OLD SCHOOL HIP HOP LISTEN TO MORE NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL LISTEN TO MORE GOGOL BORDELLO LISTEN TO MORE STRANGE RECORDS THAT YOU FIND IN THRIFT STORES LISTEN TO MORE OF THE AVANT GARDE LISTEN TO MORE UNPRETENTIOUS FUN STUFF LISTEN TO MORE ALT-COUNTRY LISTEN TO MORE CANADIAN MUSIC LISTEN TO MORE COMPLICATED MUSIC LISTEN TO MORE LYRICS WITH UNIQUE SUBJECTS LISTEN TO MORE BEAUTIFUL THINGS LISTEN TO MORE MUSIC THAT COMPLETES YOUR LIFE LISTEN TO MORE OF WHAT THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU LISTEN TO MORE
  8. I do not like any of these bands. They've got a right to exist, however, I don't care about their existance, since I'm too busy listening to Cambodian Funk Yodeling, avant-garde jazz, vintage advertising jingles, nerdcore, New Weird America freak-folk, post-rock symphonies, stuff that would be glam rock if the singers would shave their beards and wear something other than polo shirts and sweaters and lots and lots and lots of indie pop. REAL indie pop. By REAL independant artists on ACTUALLY independant labels. I do not troll the interenet for the videos of these bands constantly just so that I can listen to them. I certainly have never worn a mask and asked my friends for any CD they might have of them The Killers This is the band that I tolerate the existance of the most. I mean sure, they're part of the whole indie-mainstream thing that I despise, but they kinda sound like the Cars. The video for Read My Mind is one of my favorites ever. Yep. That's EXACTLY what Tokyo is like. Jaywalking Center Gai,
  9. Opening Credits Artist: Wesley Willis Song: Feel The Power of Rock & Roll Album: Waking Up Song: The Space Race Album: City of Daughters Amidst the subtle traces, whether particle or bone. We detect a weakness, yes. The senses we have honed don't work anymore than they used to work! Ah! The obligatory "WAKE UP!" thing that every single RPG that I've ever played starts with! Well, most of them at least. Knights of the Old Republic I and II, all of the Elder Scrolls (though Oblivion's less obvious, though as far as I'm concerned, you begin asleep), Baldur's Gate, And always to tell you that something horrible has Often you have amnesia. See: Knights of the Old Republic and Planescape: Torment. Though you kinda figure out real quick about the fact that you've got amnesia in Planescape: Torment. Where was I? That's right! The Space Race! This song has cheesy synths. Not as many as the entirity of the album Your Blues has, but then again, Your Blues was the GOD of cheesy synths. Plus. The pep. We always need the pep. An Ordinary Day Song: Students Carve Hearts Out Of Coal Album: This Night Students carve hearts out of coal... Students carve hearts out of coal, I just thought I'd let you know about the bulls charging out from the gallery walls... Homelessness calls... Ah, sister you must now wreck the streets... The First Date Song: I Want This Cyclops Album: City of Daughters And something's telling you: "Boy, it's time to take sides, and write your English Music, though you know it will come to no good when brilliance has a taste for suffering, and you're softer than the western world..." Falling In Love Song: The Music Lovers Album: Your Blues Feeling fine, but it must be the wine Cause it's April 27th and my baby's still dying on me. We stole a gondola to sea And ditched the chaperones on jewel-encrusted roans who called us 'unprofessional.' Deep down they knew, Oh that we were the Music Lovers! People say - "They just didn't want it enough." Here, the people say - "They just didn't want it enough." This is my official mushy song. Whenever I feel mushy, I turn on this song. It's far more romantic than the lyrics would make you think, but I believe that it's definitely the most romantic of Destroyer songs. The other songs that come close to it don't really fit any situation of mine, The Rumble Song: Rubies Album: Destroyer's Rubies The sketchy crowd shows me drawings, they're alright. An alternately dim and frightful waste. Now come on honey let's go outside. You disrupt the world's disorder just by virtue of your grace, you know... I didn't want to go, but leave I must... As gratifying as this dust was. Please don't wake me from this, my golden slumber, I am proud to be a part of this number! This song would have to play through the entire scene, entirely. The Break-Up Song: Why Banacek Doesn't Love Album: Ideas For Songs Therein there lay trials and deceits There lay trials and deceits Believe me, when I breathe, it means I'm seceding from a love I don't believe of I'm seceding from a love I don't believe of I'm seceding from a love I don't believe of Getting Back Together Song: Loves Of A Gnostic Album: City Of Daughters Tear the emblems from our sleeves just like the others. Apostate Brothers, please stay for the dawn of a new day. Watch the sun come up from the mud. Our cups are empty, our wine has turned to ether that's good and fine. Life's Okay Song: Beggars Might Ride Album: Streethawk: A Seduction Beggars might ride. You've heard it said and it's true, for someone so beautifully scarred I imagine it must be hard to stay away from a life of public relations, but try! Girl, you've got to try! You've got to stay critical or die! Stay critical or die! The Mental Breakdown Song: An Actor's Revenge Album: Notorious Lightning And Other Works An actor will seek revenge Upon the ones who fed him those ridiculous lines Saying - "What we really need now is an emotional history Of the Lower Eastside, cause it was wild! It was wild!" Oh no, here we go again... Cruising Song: The Way Of Perpetual Roads Album: Thief It's a long climb down from obscurity, so cancel the keys to the city, please. Upon which I'll wretch the inextricable failures of popular wisdom, and popular music. The Flashback Artist: Song: Album: The Party Artist: Song: Album: Everybody Dance Now Artist: Song: Album: Regretting Artist: Song: Album: The Long Night Alone Artist: Song: Album:
  10. A while back Hahli Husky posted a shuffle quiz about what the soundtrack to your life would be, and I got some incredibly bizzaire, occasionally grossly inappropriate and shockingly accurate list. Regretting Song: Looters' Follies Album: Destroyer's Rubies A body aching, fragile, and pale: dark valleys house its trail. Why can't you see that a life in art and a life of mimicry - it's the same thing!?! Death Song: Crossover Album: Streethawk: A Seduction
  11. I love obscure music so much. Part of it is that I love finding things that no one else knows about. It's kind of a discovery, a sense of adventure. There's something magical about finding a band that has only five Google hits, or listening to something that you know that no one in this country listens to. But not only that, the most obscure stuff is almost always the best stuff EVER. The mainstream-mainstream can only accept a very few of what gets made, and often those are the ones deemed the most likely to sell for whatever reason. Things that would keep music from selling in a mainstream manner include mental illness, semi-premanent address, lack of indentifiable material aside from vague pictures that may or may not be of the artist, crackpottery,
  12. WHAT THE DEVIL. I AM NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THE HIGHEST RATED BLOG. Seriously. Where are you rage downvoters? Where are you? What are you doing making my blog have 5 stars out of six votes? All six of you who comment CONSTANTLY. What the devil. My blog is the only one I find with a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. What the devil. What the devil devil devil. This is what I get for
  13. Since I am incredibly tired, and since I can't seem to do anything for either the FF100 project or for this one profile to this one RP character I'm making, I shall now search for everything that I can involving OUTRAGES on BZPower. First thing I find is an OUTRAGE near and dear to my heart, the OUTRAGE that is censoring on library computers. "It's an outrage, please read" by Galikat Now, I never use the computers in my library. Ever. Nothing except the catalog, which is I go to my library to look for books. Occasionally CDs and videos. Mostly books. Mostly graphic novels, since graphic novels are freakin' expensive and also incredibly delicious. I seem to also recall Galikat having created a BZPower blog about a million years ago, effectively as a post. So in some vague way, we've all got Galikat to thank. In others, my memory might be entirely faulty. It was in CoT. Somewhere.
  14. All right. I'm in the mood for some Bionicle fan fic. Tell me why I should read what you've written. I don't care whether it's a Things I like: 1. Good world building. I want to see a really really cool new world. 2. Really really new things. I haven't read enough Bionicle fan fiction to know what's rediculously old in the fandom. However, I can spot creativity when I see it. 3. Women. Blatantly ignore what has been said. There are female Matoran in places other than Ga-Whatever. And there are male Matoran in said Land Of Water. I will never be shaken from this. There is no reason for this to exist. Things that will automatically fail you: 1. Script format. I hate reading Shakespeare because of how much I hate reading scripts without seeing them preformed. A large amount of my own work consists of stageplays and I hate reading scripts. If you are not writing a play, you should go for prose and never turn back. Please. Save my head. 2. Bad grammar and spelling. I'm not a grammar nazi, but I do like it when you put effort into what you make. If you put effort into making a good story, then please make effort to make it readable. If your story's good enough, then it's worth the time to run through it several times with a fine tooth comb. Of course, this may or may not be the reason why I never end up finishing things. Ah well. 3. Original islands that end in "-Nui". Yes LEGO, you are guilty of this. It's worse than Star Wars having a million planets that end in "-ooine". I'll be able to overlook this, Things I'm Interested In 1. The Krahka. Yeah. That's my major dig. I want to see every single story about Krahka in general, whether the character or the species. I lean slightly towards the species, but that's because tons of Krahka are better than just one. But just one is good. 2. Crack-pairings. In most of my fandoms, I tend to ship really weird pairings. The most logical ship I erm, ship would be Luna/Neville in Harry Potter, which is, to my knowledge, the only ship besides the infamous Harry/Hermione thing that J.K. Rowling herself debunked. However, Luna/Neville shippers are, pretty much by definition, way too awesome for canon. So for Bionicle, I'm thinking stuff like Thok/Hahli, Dume/Gaaki, Sidorak/Gali, Axxon/Roodaka, that sort of thing. Also. Slash. These are probably not posted on BZP, and I've probably seen them all, but it's certainly worth a shot. I mean seriously. You've got five guys to one girl. For Mata Nui's sake. It makes way too much sense. You know, Axxon/Roodaka's beginning to actually make some manner of sense. He was the sworn protector of Mata Nui, a warrior in the defense of light, justice and hope for all beings everywhere! She was an exile of her race, When they meet under secret identity, neither realizes 3. Smart Rahi. I have this image of the Rahi as being absolutely on the intelligence level of Matoran, and occasionally higher. They probably aren't as technologically advanced, and they definitely have an extremely distinct culture, both from Matoran and from other species. 4. My favorite year had to have been '04. I prefer a more technological bent to my Bionicle. I enjoy parallels with historical things.
  15. I'm considering having something where every week, I tell you about a band that you need to check out right away. I don't think I'll be able to keep it up, but it's certainly worth a try. I enjoy blabbering on about music I enjoy, and if I get just one person to give just one of my favorite bands a chance, it'll be all worth it. These are almost universally obscure, so they need the listeners and they need the money. What shall I begin with today? I think I'll start with Final Fantasy. Yes. You all think you've heard of Final Fantasy and you're thinking "But wait a second, you're a hardcore PC gamer who thinks that Morrowind and Fallout are the be-all-end-alls of gaming! You love Japanese music, Japanese language and Japanese fashion, but you hate Japanese RPGs! Is this going to be another one of those bands that aren't really bands, but are really just singer-songwriters who have names like bands?" Which, of course, you aren't thinking. At all. However, ever since you read that, you are now thinking about that. Good! You need to start thinking psychic thoughts more! Final Fantasy is the name of a band with only one member, Owen Pallet.
  16. Currently Listening To - Such A Beautiful Girl Like You by Pizzicato Five Saw some other people with higher numbers of posts than I have that aren't Premier Members. And I've a feeling that I'm kinda behind everyone else due to the fact that I haven't been here for about three-four days or something and I'm too lazy to check dates. Whateva. I'll just aspire to the highest word count. This is basically me being given free reign to rant as much as I want without carrying about there being an audience or a discussion or being on topic all the time. I can be as self centered as I wish. That makes my word count go WAY up. YOU BET. Anyway, more People You Don't Know. Same people in the A.C.T.O.R.S, oddly enough. Because it's intentional. Every Tuesday, ever since the last season of A.C.T.O.R.S. ended, we decided that since so many of us play RPGs, we should get together at the best dang coffee shop in the galaxy and play us some RPG of some kind. We had some incredibly failed games that we used to pass time between the mornings when we ended rehersal for A.C.T.O.R.S, and the evenings when the rehersals began for the main stage plays. These all ended in incredible amounts of stupidity, since we all had low attention spans due to the fact that we're in "Drive Our Poor Director Insane And Not Feel Like A Total cool dude For Doing This Stupid Role" mode. We won't get into any of those. Ever. Anyway. So we decided to meet up at this coffee shop because we don't want a bunch of people in our houses and because they serve yerba mate there. Yerba mate is so dang awesome; I cannot roleplay without it. You just gotta love a drink which either contains a lethal dosage of caffine, or absolutely none at all. Our previous game that recently ended - which is the one we're talking about today- was a Vampire: the Requiem game set in Chicago, using the Chicago suppliment. And oh did we use it. By "use it" I mean that we ignored everything in it except for some NPCs that managed to become LEGEND, by which we mean that Scratch got lots of people really drunk and would always bust in with his "Machine" and blow things up wantonly at the worst possible moment. That game had some hilarious characters, by which I mean John Smith. First off, we'll start with my character. I liked this character. He was no Aldo Micari (a d20 Modern character that happened to be one of my favorites), but he still had style and class. The GM decided quite arbitraily that we were not allowed to play vampires that were over 50 years old for some reason. This made me quite sad, since Alright. John Smith is obviously a psudonym.
