Chomper

Recommended Posts

Chomper is a happy, friendly little Rahi who loves to be fed and petted and then fed some more.

Front (or, Chomper glaring hungrily at you)

Side (better body and tail detail)

RAWR!

You might have noticed Chomper shares all his parts with another Rahi set. Can you guess which one?

The Mata Nui Fishing Bird, a combiner model of Kohrak Va and Nuhvok Va. The idea that started Chomper was the idea to use the Bohrok teeth to connect the feet to the body. I made the head after that, with the leftover parts going to the tail, which I personally feel is the weakest part of the set. I challenged myself to use exactly the same parts as in the Mata Nui Fishing Bird.

Also, Chomper has a function. Three guesses what it is.

First hold him like this ...

... and then do this!

Do that back-and-forth really fast for Chomper to gobble up whatever's in front of him!

For some reason this being's tail strikes me as too long and facing the wrong direction, but otherwise he is a nice little guy. I like the function and use of harder-to-use parts.

I do admit the tail is awkward, but how is it facing the wrong direction?

The last piece at the end of the tail strikes me as facing the wrong direction. :shrugs: For such a forward-chomping guy, I would think that all the spikes would point forward, but that might be just my own preference.
