Demitoran Exoskeleton

Recommended Posts

Oh, when it comes to sharing my recent MOCs, I can be lazy for months until I will take pictures. So don't be surprised when I will say you that this MOC is a half-year old, or even more. =DSo, what do we have today to share with community? We have an exoskeleton!http://www.brickshel.../img_0475_r.jpgI never did such a models before so don't expect much, but I hope that for the first time the result is more than satisfactory.http://www.brickshel.../img_0473_r.jpgUnfortunately, both suit and it's pilot are gray and black so they are a bit blended.I knew that mode will become not very poseable so when I was taking pics, I wasn't worrying about much epic poses, only angles that would be interesting.http://www.brickshel.../img_0478_r.jpgAs you can see, Pilot's torso is protected by Hero Factory 2.0 chestplate. I love this part. Also there is two guns that suit carries - some sort of blaster and a machinegun. The blaster is attached to automated turret mount, but the gun should be held in hand to use it.http://www.brickshel.../img_0483_r.jpgHere's the MOC from behind.http://www.brickshel.../img_0485_r.jpghttp://www.brickshel.../img_0487_r.jpgNow we have a view to foot. Pilot's foot is attached to exoskeleton by three-wide axle with stud, just like Toa Nuva had their instruments attached to the feet.http://www.brickshel.../img_0490_r.jpghttp://www.brickshel.../img_0496_r.jpgHere is how suit look like with turned off weapons.http://www.brickshel.../img_0497_r.jpghttp://www.brickshel.../img_0501_r.jpgWeapons are placed on Vahki pelvis part that can be removed. Here you can se unarmed version of exo-suit.And now, the moment of truth. I am pulling chest plate up and deattaching pilot from his trusty armor.http://www.brickshel.../img_0503_r.jpghttp://www.brickshel.../img_0506_r.jpgPretty skinny huh?Okay, now I will introduce the pilot.http://www.brickshel.../img_0517_r.jpgHe's a Demitoran, a representative of 'half-blood' race of mask-faced inhabitants of Matoran Universe. Originally thay has been breeded as results of Karzahni's experiments, but also any Matoran could become a Demitoran if Energy of Toa was transferred incorrectly.http://www.brickshel.../img_0510_r.jpghttp://www.brickshel.../img_0516_r.jpgI've tried some interesting hand technique on this one and I am pretty satisfied, though some of my friends told me it's ugly.http://www.brickshel.../img_0518_r.jpghttp://www.brickshel.../img_0519_r.jpgThis design allows me to attach to hand suit's weapons so Demitoran could defend himself if caught without his exoskeleton.http://www.brickshel.../img_0520_r.jpghttp://www.brickshel.../img_0523_r.jpg"I've got you on my aim."http://www.brickshel.../img_0528_r.jpgOkay, that's all for today! Enjoy, comment and put some critiques! I will appreciate any feedback.Edit: Images linked due to dimension and file size. Please keep posted images in BBC to 640x640 pixels and 100 kB.-Wind-

Ooh, this is so cool. The mech is well built. (So skinny with no pilot. :P) Its nice and snug for the matoran. Maybe rename it the Exotoran? ExoToa-Toa ExoToran-Matoran. xD. The mech has a nice colour scheme, which I like. The weapons are really awesome too. Very well built. As for the pilot, it's pretty cool. The backstory is really a nice touch. Good choice of a mask, and the arms are well built for the matoran. Love this a lot, his weapon is really awesome. All in all, very nicely built mech. :)~Gravity

Looks interesting! I've been a great fan of pilot/vehicle MoCs forever, so this caught my eye whilst I was browsing the forum. That being said, I do think this MoC might have been better off as just one unit. Because of the colors and the way the suit is built it would be hard to even tell that this was a two part MoC useless you were told before seeing it. I also don't think that the pieces stand very well alone either. Both the pilot and the suit look sort of bare and flimsy when they're not together. The Demitoran's neck and shoulders look a little thin and the suit just doesn't look like a suit without it's pilot. That being said, when both pieces are together the MoC really shines. Everything looks well constructed and slick. I like the weapons placement and the black mask is a neat choice for the head.I have to say I like the MoC overall. I just think that the pilot and the suit don't look so great when they're apart (and I know it can be hard to make them look good). However, when together they look great. That might have been your only goal from the beginning and if so, kudos! Keep up the great work. :)

When I looked at the first picture, I was all "What Exoskeleton? It's just one big M-""Oh, wait..."This is brilliantly designed, and the entire MOC has a nice flow to it. I've tried to do stuff like this, but ended up with huge, clunky things with heavy limbs and tiny joints. Great job!

"Whether that is right or not...I also...as a Rider...have a wish that I want to fulfill."

I love the intricate, mechanized design. This is how I wish the small sets were made. (Go see my drawings for how I wish canisters were...LOL.) This is just so awesome, and the color scheme flows. The weapon looks powerful but not oversized, something the Cordak Blasters were an attempt to fulfill but failed at. My only complaint is that you should have made the pilot a different color from the exosuit. Therefore, 8.5/10.

Well, there always must be an element of surprise. =)Yes, they are, but on the other hand, it more like a support exoskeleton than a whole suit. As you can see, I haven't made any arm enhancements for exo. Also, Demitorans are always looks weird - they are sons of Karzahni. So I won't be surprised if this one has made himself an exoskeleton because he was physically weaker than others.

Yes, the exoskeleton was supposed to suit Demitoran. ;)Thanks for the great feedback and attention to my MoC, Ankyfdarkness. =3And many thanks to the rest of reviewers!
