I'm Thinking With Portals, But Which One?

Posted by Agnes Oblige , in Life, Video Games Jun 28 2012 · 124 views

Trying to decide between four pictures for my new desktop:

The Cake is a Lie

These Robots Are Friends

Wheatley Sees You

Portals Make Paradox

You decide.

Meet The Pyro

Holy mother of god, that was amazing. Best Meet the Team video, hands down. Even if you don't play Team Fortress 2, you HAVE to see this video!

Loved the interview segments at the beginning, and the Pyro's point of view... holy... it's undescribable.

Minecraft Roller Coaster

I am building one in single player. It is... a very long project. I want it to be around a fifteen minute ride, and for that to happen it's going to take weeks of building at my pace, because I can't handle using the same materials for hours on end.

Halo: Reach

It is the basis of my COT Library Summer Olympics entry. It's going very well.

New Avatar And Signature

Posted by Agnes Oblige , in Video Games, BZPower Jun 25 2012 · 69 views

Doubtless those of you bothering to check this blog have already seen them both, but I thought I'd post it here anyway, because I think both are awesome.

No, I am not actually posting them here.

Ok I will.

Here is banner for you all >> Just cropped and added a few effects. Think it still looks cool, though. Definitely worth losing all space for text.

Here is the avatar >> Pretty much can be considered an upgraded version of my old avatar.

Thank You And Pyromania!

Posted by Agnes Oblige , in Video Games, BZPower Jun 25 2012 · 53 views

First off, thanks to Hahli Husky for the proto point- people usually put proto points they've gotten in side bars or whatever, but I'm too lazy to do that. So here's an entry instead.

And then the second part is- Team Fortress 2 Pyromania update. New map and game mode is pretty sweet; hopefully we get one or two new maps for it in the coming months and it becomes as integrated as the likes of Payload. And I'm very glad to know that the rumours of that monkey being the Pyro are now squashed.

Actually this is my entry on RvB Episode 4 that I never actually did. =P

So I'm loving the machinima bits- they are far superior to the ones from Season 9 and, for whatever reason, I'm happy they're using Halo 3 again. Reach was just a little too different to be used, I think.

The CGI section was brilliant as always, and continues to blow me away at how far they've progressed in terms of visual quality since Season 9. Also, it was nice to see another big ship.

Now to wait for Episode 5 tomorrow!

Also... Meet the Pyro.

Top 10 - The Gamecube

Posted by Agnes Oblige , in Video Games Jun 22 2012 · 84 views

Aw yeah, let's do this list! Keep in mind once more, these are simply the top ten games on the system I want to play on the Wii U virtual console, as I haven't played any of them before.

Except one.

  • Viewtiful Joe (2003)
  • Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (2004) - cheating, but I'll take this game anyway I can.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (2004)
  • Beyond Good & Evil (2003)
  • Peter Jackson's Kind Kong (2005)
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (2002)
  • Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (2004)
  • Fire Emblem: Parth of Radiance (2005)
  • Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (2003)
  • Mario Party 5 (2003)
  • Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Wait...)
  • Luigi's Mansion
  • Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
  • Pikmin
  • Pikmin 2
  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Mario Party 7
  • Mario Kart: Double-Dash!!
  • Metroid Prime

Top 10 - Gameboy Advance

Posted by Agnes Oblige , in Video Games Jun 20 2012 · 97 views

And today I bring you the Gameboy Advance list.

  • Gunstar Super Heroes (2005)
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (2003)
  • Advance Wars (2001)
  • Wario Land 4 (2001)
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (2005)
  • Metroid: Zero Mission (2004)
  • Mega Man & Bass (2003)
  • Drill Dozer (2006)
  • Fire Emblem (2003)
  • Astro Boy: Omega Factor (2004)
  • Pokemon Emerald (GBA, 2005)

Probably my least-looked forward to list, to be honest. :P GBA is just... I dunno. Plenty of great games for it, sure, but most of these are probably the ones I'd look forward to playing least out of all the games I'm listing. Of note, I almost put the Donkey Kong Country port on here, and the same with the Super Mario World port, before deciding that Astro Boy would be more worth the time.

Top 10 - Nintendo 64

  • Goldeneye 007 (1997)
  • Paper Mario (2001, Wii VC)
  • Super Mario 64 (1996, Wii VC)
  • Yoshi's Story (1997) - not that this would've EVER made the list anyway xD
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998, GCN, 3DS)
