I never watched cartoons as a kid, either, but we all have different tastes. It just so happens that a lot of people liked MLP because, from what I've heard, it isn't the standard girl's cartoon, with a lot more effort, even if you disagree.

I like cartoons, but don't really watch them anymore (aside from earlier episodes of SpongeBob Squarepants and the occasional old Scooby-Doo movie) - especially ones that are designed for little girls.

No, I think it's because these are grown men liking a girls' cartoon.

And right here is the reason so many don't understand. This common misconception that it's a girls' cartoon. It's no more a girls' cartoon than pokemon.

It's a girl/boy/woman/man/freakishalienfromoutserspace cartoon that merely uses a girl-focused toy franchise as the source material.

Also, the idea of never watching Saturday morning cartoons as a child saddens me greatly. I really can't imagine it...

Yeah, I hate to be harsh, but I'm honestly getting sick of the whole "My Little Pony is girly and childish!" attitude. If anything, it's gender-neutral and no more childish than Pokemon.
