LEGO killed BIONICLE. They took away the thing I loved most. They did it for money. They said it wasn't selling well.

I wish I had bought all the sets, then maybe BIONICLE would never have ended. But my anger outweighs my guilt. I've made it my personal mission to avenge BIONICLE's death. I'm going to train and study to prepare myself for what I am going to undertake.

People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy, and I can't do that as just another member of a forum site. As a member, I'm pixels and bandwidth. I can be suspended, I can be banned. But as a symbol... as a symbol, I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting.

I am vengeance. I am the night. I am BIONICLEMAN.

The Scarecrow Ranked

Posted by Ryuujin , Mar 31 2011 · 1,856 views
05. Blackest Night comic book Scarecrow
Not much to say about this one, except that Scarecrow as a Sinestro Corps member is brilliant.

04. Batman: Hush comic book Scarecrow
In my opinion the definitive comic-style Scarecrow, Jim Lee's artistic take on the character is fantastic. I only wish he had a bit bigger of a role in the Hush series.

03. The New Batman Adventures cartoon Scarecrow
Arguably the creepiest Scarecrow interpretation so far, and my favorite of the New Batman Adventures character re-designs, this Scarecrow is downright inhuman in appearance. The designers themselves have been quoted as saying "We're not sure if there's even a man inside the suit", which adds to the creepiness of the character.

02. Batman Begins/The Dark Knight movie Scarecrow
I was a bit skeptical about this Scarecrow before the release of Batman Begins, after seeing pictures of the actor (Cillian Murphy). He wasn't very tall, he wasn't very lanky, and from what I saw he wasn't very creepy. After seeing the film, however, my opinion changed completely - nobody could ever do a better job as Scarecrow than Murphy did. He was creepy, he was sinister, and that "You look like a man who takes himself too seriously.." bit before he sets Batman aflame ranks as one of my favorite movie one-liners ever. It wasn't a silly one-liner, it was a darkly humorous and rather morbid one-liner, and that's what made it work. The simple design (a business suit and the Scarecrow mask) is a nice change, though the very brief appearance in a cloak-like tattered straight jacket at the end of the movie was great as well.

01. Batman: Arkham Asylum video game Scarecrow
By far my favorite Scarecrow character design. The mask, the syringe gauntlet, everything about the design is excellent - very creepy, very cool. My one and only gripe is with his voice actor in the game. Not that the actor did a bad job, in fact, he was really rather brilliant as Scarecrow.. but he was also the voice of Donatello in the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, which my brain can't process that very well. I always imagine Donatello when Scarecrow talks. Actually disregard that entirely, turns out I was mistaken - Donatello's voice actor voiced Starscream in War for Cybertron, not Scarecrow in Arkham Asylum. Oh well. On another note, the glove and the dreamlike hallucination sequences in the game always remind me of Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series of slasher movies.

So I Was Wondering

Who else here collects action figures?

I'm always a bit hesitant to talk about my collecting habits, but considering this is a website based on toys anyway.. eh, shouldn't get much ridicule.

First Look At Arkham City Mr. Freeze, Penguin, And.. Grundy?

Posted by Ryuujin , Mar 30 2011 · 16 views

Cropped from a larger image that shows other villains from the previous game. This isn't resized, and don't bother looking for a bigger one - for now, this is as big as we've gotten.

The ones in the middle and far right are obviously Mr. Freeze and the Penguin, respectively, but I'm not entirely sure who that is on the far left - certainly looks like Solomon Grundy, though.

Last Movie You Watched

Trying to get some more "audience participation" in my blog - that is, instead of me just rambling and you guys talking about what I said, we all get to ramble and talk about it!

So what was the last movie each of you watched? For me, it'd be Juno. For the.. sixth time.

Batman To Be "Ṟeinvented" After The Dark Knight Rises

Posted by Ryuujin , Mar 29 2011 · 54 views
So totally out of nowhere it was revealed that a Justice League movie is in the works for 2013, with the movieverse Batman character to be "reinvented", presumably with his own new film(s) as well. Not sure how I feel about this, especially since it'll be happening just one year after the conclusion to Christopher Nolan's brilliant Batman movie trilogy. Nolan will apparently be producing it, which is a plus.. I'll reserve my final judgment, however, for after we get more details.

But on a related, more hopeful note.. Keanu Reeves as Bruce Wayne/Batman, anyone?
