finally saw it. it was great, I liked it a lot, but I can't help but feel it's been seriously overrated. definitely not my favorite Marvel film nor the one I'd consider the best.
updated with the band's latest release Pale Communion. from the top to the bottom: - The Candlelight Years box set (Japanese version), includes: Orchid Morningrise My Arms, Your Hearse - Still Life (2009 remastered version) - Blackwater Park (2011 Legacy Edition) - Collector's Edition Slipcase box set, includes: Blackwater Park Dangnation * Deliverance Lamentations: Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire 2003 - Ghost Reveries - Watershed - Heritage (special edition) - Pale Communion *cens
http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/08/11/robin-williams-dead-at-63/ honestly in shock right now. I grew up with so many of his movies. this dude was the funniest person ever to me when I was a kid. he was the man. I can't believe it.
(click for larger image) 180 gram double LP in gatefold packaging, featuring the full 12-track album remastered from the original tapes. only my second vinyl purchase ever, but it was just $25 brand new at FYE. couldn't pass it up.
since I mentioned the Pumpkins in my last post, I figured why not. top to bottom: - Gish - Lull EP - Siamese Dream - Pisces Iscariot - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - 1979 single (the B-sides on this are fantastic) - Zero EP - Adore - MACHINA/The Machines of God - {Rotten Apples} Greatest Hits (my first Pumpkins album) - Zeitgeist (Best Buy exclusive deluxe edition) - Oceania owned but not pictured: - MACHINA II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music (digital-only release) -
picked this up for a mere $4 in excellent condition. best price I've gotten on a double album since I found The Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness for $5 a few years back.
I got Payday: The Heist from a friend and then I crafted some cards and got a backpack expander and an item and a name tag in TF2 that's it that's all I don't buy video games much
[originally published 3/14/14, updated 6/25/14] decided to update and republish this, since yesterday I picked up the band's newest album. still missing the Call of the Mastodon compilation of early tracks, but I'll get that eventually. from the top to the bottom: - Remission - Leviathan (Ozzfest Edition, sans slipcase which the used copy I got sadly didn't include) - Blood Mountain - Crack the Skye - The Hunter (unfortunately the version with "Blasteroid" censored, which I was unaware of
got these from a flea market today, out of package and sans-accessories, for $1 each. dude who sold me them told me he'd give me the accessories later if he can find them.
just three days after ordering it, I've got a copy of M83's out-of-print second album Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts. normally this goes for anywhere from $30 for a used copy to $150 for a new one - but I lucked out and got this complete "Used - Good" copy for only $7 plus shipping, likely because of an automated price-matching bot dropping the price to match an incomplete "Used - Acceptable" listing from another seller. I actually feel like the seller underrated it, too, because bo
just sort-of completed my Converge collection. top to bottom: - Petitioning the Empty Sky (1998 Equal Vision edition) - When Forever Comes Crashing - Jane Doe - You Fail Me - No Heroes - Axe to Fall - All We Love We Leave Behind I say it's "sort-of" completed because A. Petitioning the Empty Sky is defective and has to be replaced and B. I don't have Halo in a Haystack, their long-out-of-print debut. I'd like to get the two rarities/early material compilations, Caring and Killing and Unlov
since at least one person likes to see these, how about a two-for-one. this one's the more interesting of the two. top to bottom: - Pass Out of Existence - The Impossibility of Reason - Chimaira - Resurrection (2-disc limited edition with variant artwork) - The Infection (2-disc US limited edition with bonus track "Revenge") - The Age of Heck (censored for BZP; not actual title) - Crown of Phantoms (2-disc IndieGoGo campaign backer-exclusive fan edition with bonus track "New Apocalypse"
this past Tuesday marked the release of another shameful record label cash-grab Michael Jackson posthumous "album" consisting of songs that Jackson rejected and likely never would've wanted released, updated to modern pop radio "standards" and featuring vocals that may or may not even be the real King of Pop himself. like anyone who legitimately respected the man as an entertainer, instead of supporting corporate greed and the desecration of his legacy I've elected to use this occasion as an e
I went for one thing, I left with one thing. and I couldn't be happier. I got Katatonia's RSD exclusive 12" B-sides compilation Kocytean, limited to 2000 copies, on glorious translucent orange vinyl. this is officially my most prized possession.
following up on what I stated previously, I've finally finished off my Katatonia collection for now. I'd like to get the digipak reissues of Discouraged Ones and Tonight's Decision as well as the For Funerals to Come EP at some point, but for now I've got all of the studio albums in one form or another so I'm pleased. from the top to the bottom: - Dance of December Souls (2007 remaster + Jhva Elohim Meth EP) - Brave Murder Day (2006 remaster + Sounds of Decay EP) - Discouraged Ones (Century
according to Deadline: honestly this makes even less sense than The Lego Movie did. Minecraft literally has no story. it's a sandbox video game with even more creative limitations than Lego.
I was going to post an entry tonight showing off my recently-completed collection of albums by The Cure along with a ranking of their discography from worst to best, but since the final piece I needed in order to do so didn't arrive today against my expectations, I've decided to do something else. as a sort of follow up to a recent somewhat-tongue-in-cheek entry of mine, I've put together a collection of songs (11 to be exact, 3 that I consider either favorites or notable from each of my 3 fav
