If he can pull off that imposing presence, then it'll be sold. If he can't... well, the movie's going to have some stumbling to do.

Yeah, my main concern is whether he can be all smooth and scary like Lex Luthor, or if he's just going to be Mark Zuckerberg but eeevil.

For Lex Luthor, though? Not sure.

I'm pretty sure he could pull off Lex Luthor. Especially since Lex wouldn't come off as conspicuously evil. Plus, Jesse's acting as Mark Zuckerberg was pretty stinking amazing, so at this point it's not a question of whether he can act the part so much as it is of whether or not Zack Snyder will stifle this actor's potential with bad directing. Which he probably will; Jesse playing Luthor, in the hands of the right director, would actually be a good enough combination to merit an Oscar win, as with Heath Ledger playing the Joker, but in the hands of Snyder I'm not seeing it. Personally, though, I was hoping for Luthor to be played by Tom Hanks.

 

What actually interests me more is the casting of Jeremy Irons as Alfred. Seriously, that guy went from playing Scar in The Lion King to playing roles in Dungeons and Dragons, Eragon, and Beautiful Souls. It's about time he got back in the spotlight. And the last film was conspicuously lacking in characters with awesome baritone voices.
