  1. Of course you all play a part in how the game ends. It wouldn't be collaborative if I had everything planned out from the get go and railroaded things. While I did have some major plot points and a timeline for the story's progression (which will all be available upon game completion for those who like GM notes and to see what did or didn't make it in) the game has very much been in every player's hands. Speaking of, I put out a new poll in the RPG planning topic. I thought I'd share it here too. The more players who fill out the poll (GOOGLE FORM POLL LINK) increases the likelihood next game is even further tailored to what the community loves. For example, many players have said three months feels too short. Hi good morning! Here's the Ta-MetruGreat Disc 159 break down Location: The location can be found by speaking to Nuhrii, one of the Smith's living and working in Ta-Metru, or by talking to Vakama at his mask making shop. While Vakama will point players to Nuhrii, Nuhrii knows the general location of the disc after having discovered something weird his manager doesn't want to talk about. First puzzle: The First Puzzle is a social puzzle. Players need to either use diplomacy with the vahki or the conveyor belts going into the Great Furnace. Second Puzzle: The Second Puzzle is environmental. Players need to realize the secret way in: swinging on the water extinguishers from cat walks on one side to the other. The Final Puzzle: The Final Puzzle is deduction. Players are presented with a three digit lock, values 0-9. Understanding the meta of what they're seeking will enable solving to lock with the code 159. Great Disc Storage: The Great Disc is hidden in a whispering forest of blackened trees.

  2. IC, Kohara: Coliseum After getting directions from the vahki, Kohara, Taja, and Okuo entered the ground floor of the Coliseum. It was deathly quiet, a consequence of the lockdown. The trio headed to the elevator, escorted by amother vahki,, which called it with the button. The doors slide open with a light ding, and they stepped inside. The vahki pushed a button to bring the elevator up to the floor the Turaga’s office was on. “Are either of you ready to become Toa?” Kohara asked her companions, breaking the silence of the moving elevator.

  3. IC: Turaga Lhikan | Coliseum Prisons “Surrendered? Really, how delightful. That makes two of us.” Lhikan leaned forward against the bars of his cell, the energy field crackling a bit as he pressed against it. “I take it you’re a Dark Hunter. How goes things?” Lhikan pointed toward the ceiling as he talked. “Is the old man still kicking?” IC: Barraki | Ko-Metru, Underground warehouse Pridak looked down at Zaliyah. She stood hunched and ruined, and he rose elegant and powerful in his large warsuit. Extra armored plating wrapped around him, soft cushioning protecting him from bruising on the battlefield. Several armaments were attached at the shoulders, as well as on the wrists. The legs were recurve, and added plenty of height to his already tall form. A red tabard rested over the front of the warsuit, the rest white with gold trim befitting a king. On his face he wore the mask taken from an old man. Pridak would start a new creation, one unbridled by the fear of revealing the truths of life adrift. And yet Zaliyah questioned his judgement and preparedness. “Do I have a plan?” Pridak mused. He stared at her with cold eyes, then smiled a grin full of sharp serrated teeth through his new mask and laughed. His booming joy echoed down the length of the massive warehouse tunnel beneath Ko-Metru’s ice. “Yes, little hordika, I do. Allow me to explain.” Turning his warsuit back to the assembled warriors who’d just passed mios and habitable zones with a single step, Barraki Pridak revealed the collective plan of the Six Kingdoms’ endgame: “Welcome to Metru-Nui, the City of Legends. We’re here to make a new legend. Each of us Barraki has chosen a region of the city to liberate from the matoran blemish. Right now, we are beneath Ko-Metru, the land of icy towers and ignorant scholars who seek to predict the future with starlight rather than work together to create positive social change. I have claimed this region, I will make these people remember the present moment for generations.” Barraki Mantax stepped next to Pridak, naturally so large his head was level with Pridak’s despite the warsuit’s added height and armor. He wore no additional armor above the waist, opting instead for white warpaint and his maze of scars earned in battle. A translating matoran stood next to him, their eyes wide with fear but grateful to be alive. As Mantax’s voice boomed in his natural tongue, the matoran squeaked below him. “I will take the region of Earth, Onu-Metru. There they store many rahi, contained and abused for research. I will free them and kill them honorably.” Carapar joined in next, his warhorn strapped to his back and his armor freshly polished. The large yatagan blade at his side glittered with newly added jewels to the scabbard. In his left hand he carried the banner of his homeland. “They make hedonistic art and false idols in the deserts of Po-Metru. I will end this false worship and raise the banner of the true principles of science, art, and sensations of the only life we have.” Ehlek hopped on a crate to be at the same height as the other warriors, his hunched form otherwise hiding him from the crowd of onlooking warriors. He could see several of his people here today. It made him proud and grateful to have achieved so much together. “My people will go to the region of air and use our powers of electricity to destroy the carefully planned public transit system of magnetic chutes. You see these chutes will no longer be the main way to freely and efficiently navigate the island. While this may become a tactical disadvantage for us in the short term, in the long term it will delay the response of Metru-Nui’s --” “Ehlek, you’re rambling,” grumbled Takadox as he joined the Barraki at the head of the crowd. His translucent blue armor glittered with the red neon lighting of the triangularly shaped space. Instinctively, a large portion of the warriors assembled stared at their feet. Takadox sneered smugly. He loved the submission the very fear his presence encouraged. Fear led to power. “I am Takadox, and those who follow me will crush the heart of the matoran’s blind faith in the Great Liar Mata-Nui. We will go to Ga-Metru and tear their temple to the ground, stone by stone, and cast them into the sea.” Kalmah joined them, his back still a nightmare from the prayers he’d led back on the island of their fortress. He seemed unfazed by the pain. His armor, usually clean and orderly, glittered with rivulets of his own ichor. “I’ll burn them all.” The six factions within the League divided, rushing out in waves toward the surface. Mantax took his people through the streets of Ko-Metru toward the Archives of Onu-Metru, indiscriminately slaughtering as they went. The warcry of Mantax’s homeland echoed off the knowledge towers as they paved a line of conquest through the snow and ice. Carapar’s troops took over a chute station, then loaded into commandeered cargo barges and rushed through the magnetized current toward station 445 in Po-Metru. When they arrived, Carapar had every intention of destroying the station then moving toward the Assembler’s village to wipe out the creators of false idols. Takadox patted Leonn on the shoulder and gave him a stern look in his eyes as he passed toward the surface. “You did a good job, now why don’t you follow Carapar nice and close like we planned,” and in a whisper added, “and keep an eye on Amartakonen. Make sure he follows orders.” Then Takadox and his warriors rushed into the streets of Ko-Metru, making their way North around the Coliseum. In a few hours of pillaging apartments and crushing vahki charging hives they would arrive at the destination of the Great Temple. Takadox wondered if in the aftermath he should start a religion of fearful worship for himself. As Ehlek passed toward the streets of Ko-Metru and then toward the chute stations of Le-Metru, Pridak turned toward Zaliyah. “Follow Ehlek, he’s the overthinker. Seems like your style, little hordika.” After the electric barraki’s departure, Pridak turned to his army and said; “While Ko-Metru is my chosen region to liberate, there’s one more region in this city: the Coliseum. This region is the center of the city, of this pitiful resistance to truth, and home to the most vile individual in the universe. We will kill Dume. Cut the head of the snake off and it can no longer bite. And Mazor,” Pridak pointed toward the undead toa with a shoulder bag full of nightmare fuel, “you will stay close to me." And then the great Barraki warlords began the ending stages of their campaign against the matoran people. Those who surrendered their faith and accepted the new ways would be free to live. Those who didn’t became stars for Ko-Matoran to record, catalogue, and ignore to focus on other, brighter constellations of toa. OOC: Hello everyone! Metru-Nui's notification and response is coming ASAP. For Characters in the league, either follow the Barraki your character is aligned with or head to the region your want your character to destroy first. For Metru-Nui characters, I'll be writing a post to notify and help ease the transition towards the final battle for Metru-Nui! May the stars be ever in our favor.

  4. Greetings, all! I recently decided to build the Toa Mata as LEGO BrickHeadz using LEGO Digital Designer (LDD), and then used Mecabrick's 3D-rendering software to create photo-realistic pictures of them. I've posted these as a project on LEGO Ideas, but I wanted to post them here as well for feedback. Thoughts?

  5. IC: Brutaka | Metru-Nui The gold and blue titan watched over the soldiers waiting at the parade grounds of the Coliseum. He knew their names and faces after so long fighting the League on the sea, in the air, and in desperate struggles along rocky coastlines. The most recent conflict against Mantax’s troops had left him concerned by the extreme measures to which the Barraki’s own desecrated the temple ruins. He’d known Mantax to care about honor and death with glory, and now… Something changed. No, something snapped and Pridak was undoubtedly to blame. Even Pridak seemed more vicious these past few months. He did not remember any of the Barraki being so cruel and vile when they served with the Order. Yes, they held a longstanding secret close to their heartlights without being able to reveal it. But so did Brutaka. So did all of them. No matter how much they desired to breathe the words of truth, Axonn’s bond held their tongues firmly in place. Brutaka had once been tempted to join the Barraki, but now after all he’d seen he could barely believe they’d once broken bread. A vahki broke Brutaka’s thoughts on the past with a briefing. “Turaga Dume is missing, Coliseum is in lockdown. Assist in finding the missing Turaga. The League is reported to have arrived in Ko-Metru, splitting up and heading into different Metrus. Deploy your troops to their work functions.” “Shut up, send a matoran next time. I hate talking to technology,” Brutaka muttered as he pushed the vahki out of his sight and rose to walk down the bleachers of the akalini stands towards where Skyra performed her acrobatic flirtations. “Listen up,” Brutaka shouted as he got close. He watched several soldiers stiffen and turn at attention. He saw Iona in the back shoving the rock he’d given her back into a pocket, and for a brief moment his eyes locked with Orieus in the crowd of hungry haunted soldiers who’d seen too much horror already. “The League just showed up in Ko-Metru. They found a way in and are breaking into smaller factions, undoubtedly six -- one for each Metru. I don’t need to be a strategist to know the Barraki like to show off by claiming their spoils of war. Split up and assist the vahki in stopping the karz-forsaken zealots from destroying our home. I need a few to stay here with me and assist the vahki with this lockdown and finding Turaga Dume in the Coliseum. The rest of you spread out. If you find a Barraki, kill him for me. This world’s better off without them now.”

  8. IC [Dume, Coliseum - Upper Levels]: The duo came to a junction and Dume signaled a halt at the sound of approaching footsteps, but relaxed as he realized their synchronicity. Approaching from both sides were three of the latest model Vahki each. “Priority Alpha beacon received. Standing by to assist.” the lead unit stated after halting next to the Turaga. Dume nodded approvingly, tapping his staff on the floor . “I must return to my office.” he stated. “Make sure I get there. Anyone who tries to stop us is to be treated with extreme prejudice.” “Understood.” came the reply. The Vahki took up flanking positions and together, they made their way down another corridor and a few turns. This level was not open to the public or for administration. It was merely functional in purpose and design, with a much less streamlined layout. There was an industrial edge to everything. Eventually, their path led to another elevator - one meant for cargo and other goods - not people. It was heavy duty and utilitarian, devoid of flourish or style and way larger than the other lifts Jabali had seen. The entire team of Vahki was able to file in alongside them once the lead unit had summoned it and the door slid open. Once inside, the squad mother used its staff to unlock the latch hiding the control panel for the lift, which had a red indicator light above it. “Voice key required to access top level.” the Vahki stated. Turaga Dume sighed, cast a Why, spirits, why? look at the cabin ceiling, then stepped closer to the panel and leaned down towards the panel. He cleared his throat and spoke into the microphone: “Turaga Dume is my name. And the heart of Metru Nui is my game.” “Voice key recognized. Access granted.” The lift began to move, less smooth than it’s fancy counterparts as well and Dume stood, both hands on his staff out in front of him. After a few seconds of silence, he tapped it again, once. “It occurs to me I have not properly thanked you for rescuing me. It was very brave of you to interfere with a dark hunter’s business.” he addressed Jabali, without looking her way. His tone was even, with just a hint of gratitude in it before returning to normal. “Your timing was fortuitous as well. Very fortuitous indeed." "You knew they were coming for me, didn’t you?” Now he turned his head. “How?” OOC: @That Matoran with a Vahi

  9. IC Alpinist | Coliseum The Alpinist was not a warrior—fighting was not his forte, though it might have been the Waif's if her weaponry was any indication. This was not what he expected to happen, he was only supposed to come to the Coliseum with his friend the Cartographer and their new allies the waif and the turaga, meet with Dume or his liaison, hand over the Great Disc, and then... who knows? To be truthful, he did not really have a good idea of what would happen to him, or where his fate would unravel towards, but being placed in the upper levels of the Coliseum and looking for Turaga Dume while also being wary of Dark Hunters and whatever else would do the elder harm was not an eventuality he suspected. While greatness was something he had come to somewhat hope for, this was not his idea of it. He imagined he looked somewhat silly as he pulled his twin ice axes out and held them at the ready, as if he was preparing to punch them into some imaginary ice wall to climb it. In the absence of Sans' guidance and any helpful instincts he looked to his friends for consensus, if not leadership, but as soon as he saw the look in the Cartographer's eyes he realized even that was asking too much. They were all loners, the three of them—one a thrill seeking climber, the other a selfish surveyor, and the last one a leper, all Ko-Matoran—and there was no reason any of them had any idea how to work effectively as a true squad. And yet, it felt as though some great doom was held in the balance of their collective fingertips. It took all his willpower to not scream for them to split up and search on their own. But hadn't they also learned that to succeed they had to work together? The Alpinist and the Cartographer figured out the riddles of the hideaway by working together. The knotted dangers of the Notch were unraveled only by talking amongst each other and realizing what was missing. For the Alpinist, this new danger was only a third test of their Virtuosity and rights to bear the Great Discs. "We have to stick together," he said in a firm tone. "We stick together, and we stay in a bio of each other. We didn't come this far just to die apart. Deal?" "Deal," the Cartographer agreed. The Waif simply nodded. The Alpinist was not ready to lead, but he also wasn't ready to give up control after earning a small amount of it so quickly. Such was the difficulty of being a stubborn Ko-Matoran, always getting stuck in his brain and knowing too much without the words to share it properly. He knew they would need some sort of way to keep in tune with one another. The rope was a possibility, they could tie themselves together and have to tug to go anywhere, but that posed too many challenges, and he knew in the end they might cause more tension than it was worth. He pondered other options for a moment more until the Cartographer, even the master of the transect, realized what was going on in his fellow's brain and offered a solution. "We need to not get lost," he said, pointing out that none of them had been where they were before. "This is uncharted territory for us, so... let's map it." The other saw a cunning glint in his eye. This was what he lived for. "Stick to the left wall; whenever there is a turn, we go left; we clear the rooms one by one. I'll keep track of where we go." They started by taking the next lift to the floor directly below where Sans left them, hoping to start fresh there while the other more powerful allies roved their own separate floors. And then it was the Waif who suggested a marching cadence, quietly and in a very pained tone, but apparently relishing the feeling of forcing the words out all the same. One-two, one-two; left, right, left. Each repeat was a bio, each five bio a dot on the Cartographer's map, and each new room on the map a sign of their swift exploration. Somehow, despite the odds, three hermitlike Ko-Matoran found themselves working together. Mata Nui, the Alpinist wondered, might be proud of them. The words echoed silently in the trio's mind, but beyond simply understanding it they did not respond. They continued their search, moving from one room to the next, one left turn at a time.

  10. IC Kilo-M9 - the Taku: From the main cargo hold, the mechanical enforcer sat alone as the others gathered in the main cockpit to experience the memory crystal. The machine would have joined the others, but its power cord only reached so far, so it instead sat and listened. New information received. Analyzing... Device appears to transfer kanoka disks powers into living organisms. Duration of powers is unknown, but memory crystal indicates permanent transfer. Design of device suggests multiple discs can be used at once. The Creator died regretting his involvement in creating this device, possibly the Usurpers as well. Queries: Why does Turaga Dume need great discs? Did Dume know specifics of great disc powers before machine was created? Did the Creator regret making this unit? Analysis: Onu-metru great disc was hidden by Toa Nidhiki. Other discs were likely hidden by other Toa Mangai. Disc was hidden at least 3 months ago. Construction by The Creator on disc power device was a little over 2 weeks ago. Timetable does not match. Unknown how long Turaga Dume knew about device. More information needed. Further analysis: Great disc powers for Onu-metru and Po-metru are unsuited for combatants. Reconstitute at random is unreliable. Weakness is risky for allies. Other great discs may be similarly unsuited for direct combat. Searching databanks for information on Kanoka... Kanoka are discs made from liquid protodermis. Discs can be forged into Kanohi of various powers. For Kanohi outside of main 8 Kanoka powers, combinations of discs are used to create an appropriate disc to be forged into a mask. Disc power device has 6 slots. No known combinations of mask powers requiring 6 discs known. Simulating hypothetical combination of 6 great discs... Working... FATAL ERROR. Citizen Pacification Unit OS Ver. 1.2 has encountered a problem and needs to restart. As the crew of the Taku rushed to tend to Arkius’s injuries, the mechanical enforcer continued standing off to the side unmoving. The sounds of clockwork gears whirring at an increasing pace let anyone observing know that the machine was hard at work. Soon enough, the whirring increased in volume and the sentinel’s cranial unit began to shake. The pattern was broken by a short popping noise, followed by the machine’s glowing eyes dimming immediately, followed by the limbs and body collapsing onto the floor. A small plume of smoke began to billow from the fallen construct’s head. A short time later, the eyes on the machine began to glow once more, and the protodermis protector slowly lifted itself off the floor. It turned to glance at Stannis. “Toa Stannis, when convenient this unit needs to speak with you.”
