Surprisingly enough, sixteen years of contest history isn't very conducive to a winners' reunion. Besides, a little change is always fun. I'm working on the entry form now, but I will be asking for two separate entry pictures, one for each half. You definitely don't have to have both MOCs in the same place or anything. Also: would a 'partner wanted' topic be of any interest to you guys?

Official BBC Contest #75: It's Time to Dual! One member, one entry. That's how it's gone since the beginning of forever. Okay, sometimes it's one member, multiple entries. But the point is it's always been every builder for themselves. Until now. For this special occasion, the 75th official BBC contest, you will team up with another member and together, you will create two MOCs that complement each other perfectly. You've got free rein of what those MOCs are, but they must go together. Agreement: the first, and perhaps greatest, challenge. You can only enter once, so pick your partner wisely. You'll have an extended entry period, because two weeks is a tight deadline when you're waiting on someone's response. And should you succeed in not only cooperating, but winning the contest? You'll both receive The Art of Bionicle, generously provided by Nick Vas and LEGO. Art Contest: The Definitive Edition! What artist can resist the call of revision? George Lucas certainly couldn't. You don't have to be as... intense as he was, but revisiting a design never hurt. Lego does it all the time with their Star Wars sets. As exciting as the first X-Wing set was, it shouldn't have to be the only version ever. With the march of time come advances in building techniques and handy new parts, allowing for new and improved versions of the same great thing. There's been a lot of Star Wars sets over the years; there's probably a few you wouldn't mind touching up. For this contest, you'll be creating concept art of a revamped Star Wars set. Want to tweak a ship? Add some play functions? Just completely overhaul UCS Hoth? Draw it out and show us what you'd do differently next time. While we can't make the winning design a real set for you, we can give you real sets for prizes. The commitment some of you folks have to December 26 is admirable and I truly appreciate how much you want to fulfill your requests, but you're a winner all the same if you post it tomorrow, too.

I know what you're getting... ... well, most of you. There's still a few people who haven't done a second check-in, and since the next important date is the posting of the stories themselves (starting December 26), this is a little more serious. I cannot emphasize this enough: even if you're going to tell me there's no way you can make the deadline now, let me know! If the posting period passes and there's no sign or word of your story, your member title will be changed to reflect the fact that you owe your exchange recipient a gift. It's going to be a very boring and unambiguous title. Not very appealing. Don't let your recipient down - check in!

Hey, folks! Over the many years BST's been in operation, you've completed countless sales and trades with nary a hitch. It's safe to say you've built your own mini-community here, and that's awesome! It's great when you're not just buying that last mask, but you're buying it from a friend. Unfortunately, not everybody who comes this way is a friend. When a less-than-honourable trader rolls into BST, they'll say all the right things to get you to part with your money. In order to put more protections in place for you guys, we're instituting the following rule effective immediately: All PayPal transactions must be done through Goods & Services, not Friends & Family. Goods & Services has the mechanisms for your money to be returned to you in the event the seller does not live up to their end of the transaction, unlike Friends & Family. Also, using Friends & Family for purchases is technically against PayPal TOS, and fighting a PayPal suspension is what's commonly known as "an utter nightmare". While Goods & Services requires a small fee (exact percentages depend on the locations of both parties), you're free to negotiate between yourselves whether the buyer will simply pay the fee or the seller will subtract it from their invoice. I know it's one more thing to have to consider, but it's important to keep yourselves protected. If somebody you don't know demands you use Friends & Family, let me know: you don't have to ignore the tiny skeptical voice in your head to get your dream set. Thanks for your understanding!

You don't need to have anything substantial written down yet, just let me know that you've been putting some thought into your story. As a reminder, it's infinitely better to tell me if there's any complications than to not say anything at all. The former I can work with, but the latter... not so great.

And the matchups have gone out, so it's time to get writing! Remember, it's a surprise, so don't tell your recipient you're writing for them until the big reveal! If you need to ask them questions, let me know and I'll pass it along for you.
