  1. And if the island is mostly hollow inside the layer of ice, that helps explain how it stays afloat
  2. 4/5 Not one of my favorites but the Talking Heads are great regardless
  3. RahiSpeak, I don't remember if it was in this thread or another one, but somebody raised the idea that since Mount Valmai was part of the Ignika's defense system, there could have been some mechanism for continually generating magma if the volcano were to be cut off from the rest of the land Actually, given that the entire MU was an artificial environment, there could not really have been any natural tectonic activity, so all volcanoes inside the GSR would probably function like that. I guess we can't really compare them to real-world volcanoes
  4. 5/5 I'll tune in to those decibels too for some reason, overtone singing always reminded me of the didgeridoo, and vice versa (The difficulty level of learning banjo depends on your background -- I approached it via the ukulele and it wasn't too tricky.)
  5. 4/5 I can actually appreciate metal on some certain days. This seems to be one of those days.
  6. 4/5 not what I was expecting. actually I don't really know what I was expecting. But it's pretty good.
  7. 5/5 a super intense bitesized robot battle jam. Love it. Can't help but think it's what some of the MNOG music might have sounded like if it were composed today instead of in 2000/2001
  8. I think PrismWind just won the whole thread. That is so freaking awesome.
  9. Not enough time for a detailed post right now, but I am just weighing in to say that indeed, I too play the musics. ukulele/multiple banjos in classical/old-time folk/jazz/baroque styles
  10. Cohrii was my kraata-hunting Matoran OC I made up when I was 12. Jackson Lake was a supporting character in a Doctor Who christmas special. I was going to switch back to Cohrii after the 90 days and then I didn't. Jacks is a shortened version of Jackson Lake by which everybody here was already referring to me. Last week I got nostalgic for the Junkbot games, and thought it would be funny to plug it into the "x master of y" Toa name format.
  11. 4/5 Bouncy yet melancholy, like basically everything Elliott Smith ever wrote
  12. Matau has no lines in MoL either actually, Matau is the one who says "if we descend into those tunnels, we may never return!" that was definitely Onewa you can even hear one of the indistinct crowd voices saying "Onewa speaks the truth!" immediately afterwards
  13. 5/5 groovy. This one has more variation in it than the last one you posted
  14. 1/5 ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nope sorry I can't get into this one also what the heck is the deal with everyone always changing the lyrics from "poor girl" to "poor boy" are people really that scared to sing a song from a perspective other than their own smdh.
  15. Richard Wagner, despite composing multiple groundbreaking operas in the late Romantic era and thus setting the stage for the avant-garde classical music of the early twentieth century, was a real jerk. He was so awful that even Nietzsche had a problem with him. When Friedrich Nietzsche -- the man who believed that if you were in a position to dominate and assert your will over others, you had not only the right, but the obligation, to do so -- thinks you've gone too far. you know you've gone too far. Matau has no lines in MoL either Hogwarts is based on a school in England, actually Yes, but Hogwarts itself is in Scotland.
  16. Methinks early on, like before 2003..? What are the four things above the Bohrok? I think that the one directly below the Kanohi is a Krana, but I can't tell. EDIT: There's an '01' next to Chris Faber's signature. It looks like they had this idea since the very beginning. They did -- the Bahrag had a line during their battle with the Toa Mata that was something to the effect of "You dare harm your own brothers!" which was specifically a reference to the origins of the Bohrok
  17. Yeah, that's close to my line of thought in my earlier post. I like this idea. Heck, you could even place them further south than the Continent. BS01 says only that very few of the Southern Islands were settled by Matoran, not that none were -- so we could easily have one village of a hundred Su-Matoran in each foot, and that would probably be sufficient for the job.
  18. 4/5 It's pretty good. They really get into it around the middle. I see your oft-covered classic and raise you the original
  19. It could work, but like -The Doctor- said, it was Toa of Iron and Magnetism that posed a particular threat to the Makuta. As I understand, the danger was to the Makuta armor itself; when it comes to incinerating antidermis, even a Toa of Fire would probably be able to pull it off without much trouble. There's also a simpler explanation for why we never seem to see any Su-Matoran. We know they have a greater degree of heat resistance than even Ta-Matoran IIRC -- perhaps their entire range of comfortable temperatures is simply higher, making most regions outside their own settlements dangerously cold for them. That would actually also help prevent Toa of Plasma from being too OP -- what if they have to constantly expend a portion of their elemental power just to keep themselves from getting hypothermia?
  20. Well, the times we're living in are slightly depressing[/understatement] Good luck with your plans though, if you can make it in that field you're basically set for life
  21. The 2008 Republic Gunship is pretty darn cool. I managed to replace all the lime green with dark bley, and that massively improved its appearance. It's fallen into some significant disrepair but remains mostly intact -- think I'll make its restoration one of my summer projects.
